Scratching her head, the woman marveled at the sight of that line. ’Dang, hadn’t expected this many people’d get up early. Figured most would just hit snooze n’ show up later.’ The line zigged this way and zagged the other, forming a serpent and it’d likely only get worse from here. Joining the que all the same she sighed, tapping a foot: how to best circumnavigate this mess? ’Looks like there’s a mess o’ families and mages…’ In fact she stood behind a brother in the field, the exceptionally tall gentleman sporting a very noticeable tattoo for a guild that had yet to make it to the big leagues.
’So tryin’ to play important’s not gonna go down well. Don’t see any of mum n’ pop’s friends either so no connection route this time. Damn, this’ll be an all-day venture at this point.’ The thought held little appeal, forcing a frown in its wake. ’No screw it, I’ll find a way. First target: families.’ There were an ungodly amount of little rapscallions running about and playing games, some going so far as to force a parent or both from the lineup – the only thing thus far to cause this wretched thing to move. A slow, sly grin slide right into home on that troublemaker mug as she considered taking them all out in one fell swoop.
’Yeah, that oughta do it juuuuuust fine. She’ll know what to do.’
Letting out a loud whistle, the guy in front of her jumping and staring at her in a mix of confusion and annoyance, she merely grinned and waved at him. A response was swift from the skies as the familiar cry rang out, everyone unable to help glancing up to watch the beast swoop by. A few snowflakes followed in her wake as Amarylis harnessed a harmless variation of her abilities and a lot of exclamations and excited cries rang out. She skidded to a half a few ways away and shook, more snow falling around her in the process and eliciting many joyful cries from the children. It was, however, a bit of an uncomfortable distance for some parents to ignore and others…well they couldn’t help themselves, not in this warm weather as the sun shone down and created a brilliant sheen about the crystals.
As a large chunk of the crowd began to dissipate – since families couldn’t help forming more blobs than actual lines in place, she sighed in relief: this size was much more manageable. Considering the crowd she tapped her chin in thought, ’Still a bit long, especially for the registrar’s speed…hmm, yeah that may work.’
Pulling out a pack of cards she shuffled it a few times, the noise garnering the attention of her line mate as he quirked yet another brow. This time she flashed a simple smile, holding up the fan of cards flat in front of her, ”Care to make a little wager?”

What would’ve been hours became a matter of half an hour at best when finally someone adamantly refused to bet or let her ahead of them. ’Still can’t believe batting my lashes and a splash of gambling got me this far. Buuuut who doesn’t like a little game here and there to pass the time?’ Finally it was her time as she approached one of the stalls and forked over the application as well as a flipping her hair to the side to reveal the mark. Saluting the bored woman – who merely rolled her eyes at Rohma’s enthusiasm – she strutted off towards Amarylis’ mini Winter Wonderland. It was time to jet after all.
