    Now this would be an interesting job.

    Eliot plucked the piece of paper from the board, his eyes wide with interest. He had dealt with some curious jobs so far but this one required a different tactic. Investigative skills, the ability to be stealthy. The guild needed answers about a few pieces of graffiti that had sprung up all over Clover Town.

    His smile couldn't be wider. Investigating? Sneaking around? "It'll be like I'm a real bonafide detective." He whispered to himself. Even now he had a mental image of himself clad in a brown duster, a tilted fedora gracing his head. A white stick stuck out of his mouth leading to a lollipop eagerly sucking in between his teeth.

    Oh boy!

    Well this sucks.

    All of the things he wanted to get weren't in stock. How was he supposed to investigate without looking like a detective? He walked out of the store with a heavy frown, his arms crossed over his chest. It may be childish but he liked the idea of looking like a real investigator.

    "Anyways..." He grumbled, reaching into his pocket and retrieving the job paper. "They said I should look for things that are out of place. The person responsible has been leaving mischievous items around the town. They are marked by the same symbol." He read aloud, turning the paper over. A crude drawing of the symbol was there; a female's head leaning back, with serpents for hair protruding out.

    Eerie.

    Eliot turned down the alleyway between the store and another building, his attention solely focused on the drawing in his hand. But as he brought the piece of paper down, preparing to fold it up and place it back in his pocket, he was suddenly transfixed.

    A painting on the side of the wall was moving. Or at least it seemed to be doing so as he walked by it. He slowed his pace to look at it, mesmerized by its beauty and majesty. Whoever had done this was quite talented, using his skills to create piece of art that almost literally came to life. The young wizard paused long enough to take it in...

    And then a thought occurred to him. The man he was hunting was a skilled artist, just like the one that had done this. And there was a magical tint to this graffiti. Could it be possible that the same person had done this? "If that's true...then perhaps there are more clues down this path." He concluded, turning his attention away from the painting and focusing on the alleyway ahead.

    Another painting that seemed to move. How fascinating.

    He had turned another corner down the alleyway and found himself standing before yet another piece of graffiti. This one was much smaller but still carried the same motion as the previous one, ebbing and flowing as he moved closer to it. He reached out and touched it, almost sure he would find his hand transported to the scene. But he only felt brick.

    "Still." He said in observance. "It's rather cool." He began to turn around and away from it, ready to continue his investigation. He never saw the bag of counterfeit money behind him as he turned. And when it exploded, spraying its ink all over, the Dragon Slayer was completely covered in it.

    Eliot couldn't do anything but blink in surprise.

    "What the heck?" He asked the alleyway as he reached up and wiped the ink away from his eyes. It was thick and sticky, smearing across his features rather than outright coming off. He groaned as he continued to try and rid himself of the dark green color that had found its way onto him.

    Chortling. It was the only way he could describe the sound he heard bouncing off the alleyway walls. He rubbed the ink away from his eyes and looked down where he had come from. No one. He looked the way he had been going. A head dipped out of sight, the laughter cutting off suddenly. Someone had been watching the sight and clearly enjoyed it.

    The artist! He concluded and took off after the perpetrator!

    Eliot could hear the man's footsteps echoing down the alley that intersected with this one, hurried footfalls. The Iron Dragon Slayer came to the corner and spun around it quickly, hoping to catch a glimpse of the man responsible for all the art. But all he spotted was another linen bag falling on the ground in front of a doorway, fake bills gliding out from its opening.

    "Not again!" He said as he ran towards it. He kept his arm pointed down towards the ground and, just before he would step on the bag, he transformed it into its pillar form and extended it. The sudden thrust sent him sailing onto the roof of the building, as well as avoiding the sudden detonation of ink yet again.

    As soon as Eliot landed on the roof, he continued running forward. He could hear the man running through the building, knocking things around as he went. Even if he hoped that bag would buy him some time, he wasn't going to wait around to check. Not a bad idea.

    But the Dragon Slayer wasn't about to lose him now. He had caught the man's scent and was not going to let inking him go that easily.

    He came to the edge of the building, sliding to a stop right before he went over. He immediately looked down, his brow and frown firm as the door underneath exploded open. The artist burst through, quickly looking behind him to check for followers. He hadn't any...

    At least down there.

    "Hey!" Eliot hollered down at the suspect. The sudden sound caused him to jump; nothing in comparison though to the one that projected through him when he looked up to see the Dragon Slayer. He fumbled over himself, tripping over bags of fake money as he tried to continue his escape.

    The young wizard leapt from the rooftop and landed right in front of the bewildered tagger. His arm transformed yet again, this time into a rather nasty looking sword with spikes protruding from it. He brought it around in front of him and pointed it right at the criminal, its flat side shining in the sunlight.

    "I've got a couple questions for you."

    "Oh geez. Oh god." The artist grumbled, falling to his knees. He held his hands up in front of him, a customary pose for people asking for mercy. "Please don't hurt me. I was just doing as I was told."

    "And who told you to paint graffiti across the town?" Eliot questioned the man, keeping his sword-arm trained on the bumbling man.

    "I-I can't tell you that. They'll kill me." The man tried to use as a weak attempt to avoid answering.

    "Blue Pegasus is one of the strongest guilds in the land. They won't try anything to you if you come into our protection." The Dragon Slayer retorted.

    "Oh sure, strong guilds in the land that keeps having their hall destroyed!" That one hurt a bit.

    "Entirely besides the point!" Eliot said, adding a bit of anger to try and intimidate the man further.

    "Okay!" The artist finally relented, tired of deflections and avoiding. He slowly brought his right hand back towards himself and reached into his pocket. There he found a piece of paper that he extracted slowly and placed on the ground in front of him. "The first symbol I painted, the emblem of the woman. That's who hired me. They're a dark guild."

    Eliot's ears perked up. A dark guild had contracted this artist to paint graffiti over the town? It sounded odd; most dark guilds were more interested in causing grievous mayhem or even murder. But mild vandalism? Something was odd here indeed. He walked over and picked up the piece of paper, looking down at the emblem already well known to him. He frowned as he looked it over. "Alright. Let's get you back to the guild then. I'm sure there is more that you know. And then we can put you into protective custody."
