    Personality
    Upon first glance, Amir is a calm young person. Good-humored and quite empathetic, for his age, the teen is usually vocal in his opinions. Although he is aware that he might step on some toes by being that way and having grown accustomed to the fact that the elders usually ignore him, he believes that there is no reason whatsoever to hold back ones opinion, especially when it comes to more difficult topics. More opinions means more angles to look at a problem, resulting in a equilibrated final decision. Aside from being vocal about his opinion, Amir is quick to laugh and even quicker to smile, although from time to time a shadow seems to cloud his young face. At such times, he appears to be torn between keeping to himself and enjoying company.

    Meeting new people is a great joy to Amir, as he will most likely approach and pester them to learn new stories they might have to tell. While annoying to some, the teen mostly knows when to stop before he makes people want to punch him too hard.

    That in mind, jumping to the conclusion that he is just an inquisitive teen with a shy streak around some people might be misleading though. Hailing from Desierto, outside the grand cities of the Sultans, Amir is no stranger to violence, harassment and even worse. The desert holds beauty, but also dangers and being aware of that, the teen has learned early that the best defense is being always wary of one's surroundings and to find people to trust. This is also the way to push his buttons. Threaten children or people Amir cares about and he will go out of his way to protect them from harm, even if it means putting his life on the line.

    With his usual reaction to such a position being assaulting the offender, Amir is no stranger to combat – not even to the bitter end of it, even at his young age. While still haunted by some of the deeds he has done, the teen will gladly burden himself with such guilt if it means that he achieves what he fought for. Over time, this might turn into a problem, but being a bit short-sighted on this, Amir tends to ignore this for the time being. That said, he is not quick to start a fight (with the exception noted above), but once he engages in combat, he will bring it to an end. Retreat is something that only brings more pain, a lesson he learned the hard way. Being the kind of mage he is, he relies on others during combat, but at least can physically hold his ground.

    Outside the grand cities of Desierto, in the desert itself, loners don't make it very far. To live, you have to cooperate. This lesson, Amir learned very quick. Everyone in his community was required to work together and so he learned to listen to what those in charge where saying. Although there had been times when he questioned an order, in the end, he did what he was told. It was found, however, that the boy had a talent for strategic thinking and although his opinion was not valued as much as that of the elders, they at least listened to him. Among the young tribesmen, Amir had garnered a reputation for being a dependable, capable leader who tries not to put others in harm's way. Now, after his exodus to Fiore and his new home, he wonders whether he will be able to proof himself as he did back home.


    Likes:

    • Every new day; What wonder and mystery does the new day hold? Whom might you meet on that new day? Those feelings are a joy for the soul, something Amir holds dear. To him, there is little as refreshing as experiencing a new day.
    • Sunrise; The new day comes with one of the most beautiful events on this planet, the rising of the sun. To Amir, who grew up witnessing every morning how the gleaming orange ball crawled over the dunes on the distant horizon, it marks the beginning of a new journey.
    • Water; Growing up in the blistering heat of the desert, water is something you learn to appreciate. Amir is just like anyone else from Desierto in that regard, but almost always drinks pure water.


    Dislikes:

    • Seeing children suffer; His own childhood just behind him, Amir despises those who mistreat children and slavers in particular.
    • Bandits; Those who assault others just for personal gain are abhorrent to Amir. If they want something, they should work towards it, not harm others to obtain said something. He will usually engage such people.
    • Alcohol; Having had some, Amir came to the conclusion that alcohol is not for him. In part, it is due to the fact that it simply doesn't take much to make him drunk.
    • Being alone; Growing up in a tribe means Amir was never really alone. There was always someone around. It is not that he fears it, but he dislikes being all alone, even at times when he actually needs some alone time, there is this nagging feeling that he would be better off in company of others.


    Motivations:

    • Life; What other motivation does one need to live but life itself? The greatest wonder of all, the mystery of the unknown tomorrow, the tales of the paths people take. The beauty of the rising sun is motivation enough to Amir to live.
    • The Seal of Salomo; After hearing the legend of the great mage Salomo, Amir strives to be just as capable as that mage. His desire to learn more about the Genies and signing pacts with more of them proves difficult, however, considering he is so far from home.
    • Fairy Tail; After his exodus, Amir traveled a long way, constantly pursued and harassed by former tribesmen. A wandering mage protected him with no regard for his own well-being. Amir now wants to follow in his footsteps and joined his guild so he can one day repay his debt.


    Fears:

    • Losing the will to live; Life itself is Amir's greatest motivation. He fears the day when life holds no new mystery for him. At that point, he believes, he will cease to be himself and turn into a dark and bitter creature out to cause death and destruction – a remnant of a story the grandfather once told him.
    • Hurting a child; One of Amir's greatest fears is to accidentally kill or hurt an innocent child with his magic. This harkens back – again – to the events leading up to him leaving Desierto.[ul] Slavers; The bandits that led directly to his exodus were bandits. Amir fears that he will have to leave his newfound home again, should he encounter them again. Fear and hatred fight a battle in his teen's soul and it is hard to determine which reaction would actually be taken.
    • Losing his 'family'; Since the events leading to his exodus, Amir had only very few people to relate to. Now in his new home, he started to reach out to others, to connect to other people. Losing those he might come to see as 'family' would have disastrous consequences for his still young psyche.

    Appearance

    Anyone first meeting Amir see a pretty average person of medium physique. Most noticeable are his hazel eyes and the generally tanned color of his skin. Unusual for his origins, Amir is blond – a fact that ever so subtly ostracized him from everyone else in his home land, for the strange and unusual is not necessarily welcome.

    It is mostly his clothing that makes him stand out in Fiore. His attire, being adapted to the heat of Desierto, is light clothing comprised of pantaloons, sleeveless shirts of varying light colors and around the waist a piece of cloth, partially as a belt. Wrapped around the left lower leg, he usually wears another piece of cloth. Above it all, Amir wears a wide cloth mantle, the sleeves rolled up above the elbows. He usually ties the lower ends of the cloth mantle into a knot on the left side.
