Calamitous Fate | Ayeseru & Artemisia | Factor One

Daylight was as invigorating as the early rising sun on a winter morning - fresh, thrilling - a wave of goosebumps caused the pale skin to curl into its shell as hesitation composed against the treading footfalls of a dimly lit pathway. Towering trees, lush by the moisture of shade yet consumed by the warmth of upper light, the forest was unscathed through its evident age - a single finger tracing spanned out branches that scarcely impeded the cobblestone path. The booted feet fumbled carefully against the unstable steps - arrays of sweat tumbling from her fore-head, hood unusually left down, as the path to the peak of her location lastly advanced near. This is it.. the last place I haven't checked. a consistent cycle of travel, the home of Fiore was her concluding halt. Aeons of endeavour through exposing a way of home all but left in the grasp of a single piece of land - embraced by the various undiscovered mysterious by its peculiar split structure. The semblance of unease was prodding at her like a bickering child, an opening exposed by a precise trail - Midi styled shrine perceived up ahead.

"This feeling.. its from.. Nayug!" pools of utter beauty convulsed in a waver of elation, stature quickening as the footfalls parrelled out along the radius, nearing toward the shrine in mer seconds by the surge of darkened lightening. A snap that splintered through the whole of the island, optics clashing against the gleam of a crystal that inclined flawlessly upward as if floating by itself. "Is this my way home?" a query, flooding with restlessness - her hands were itching to embrace the item within her hold - nose twitching against the familiar smell of the woods and the aura that belched from the very Earth of her home. The stone glowed an alluring colour of violet, yet its ending flickered into a brief red that just barely catch her heed for its unknown power.


She gathered facts like a pile of leaves in the season of Fall, comprehending that there was no way the researchers of the island would disembark something of such power in a place where somebody could so effortlessly grab it. The crown of ivory steered left and right, glancing from above and below, everywhere her senses accumulated to the wood-land that coiled around the opening - landing onto the crystal again. "A setup..." her voice hushed mutedly to her own reality, the crawling sensation of another presence coming into proximity as the upper half strained to the other approaching - no moving in the slightest. The stranger's magical influence was utterly powerful, its fluctuating identification casting a belitting feeling upon her own-self as the figure came closer and closer. Yet, she did not move an inch. If somebody else had also descended into the trap, it was either this one, or the responsible.

Even through the shadows of night, those rouge opticals were visible from the few yards they settled - coldly boring into her own gaze which felt belitted by the mocking smile that teased at the youth's lips. The lengthed strands that fell from his crown were messily engaged in what appeared to be a cross of a braid and a pony, left in the hue of ravens wings as the rest of his appeal seemed to be clad in gold and a scare idea of a shirt. Footfalls grew louder against the ground, humming against earth's chest with a semblance of anything but good intentions. Askr chewed at the inside of her cheek, regulating anything that wanted to slip past her lips. A foul word, a questioning. The magic that vomitted from his figure gradually made her muscles convulse and her bones rattle, she felt colder as he came closer and could hardly manage not to move back herself and toward the crystal. But, even as she thought of it, before she comprehened what might be happening, or what was the right choice of actions - the stranger had already appeared directly infront of her, a weapon cleaving into her chest - so powerful that the metal end brought her to the shrine - impaled.

Ruby crept by her lips, and hesitantly she peered up, hands weakly clawing at the other end of the weapon that was poking out of her chest. "Askr, Askr.. Askr.. Oh how I've waited for this day for us to meet again.. wait scratch that, for me to see you again! Theres no way you would've ever noticed my existence." there was a playful tone to the voice that spoke, a sickly way of speaking that made her meet the gaze, but this time, with utter disgust. "Aww, I'm sorry, did my spear hurt you?" briefly the man laughed, lowering himself to trace the side of her face, "Its unforunate isn't it? You can be stabbed many times, feeling this human pain, yet, never dying. Its like an eternal suffering!" the hand disembarked from the side of her face, and he casually approached the gem which immediately seized all will she had to speak.

"S - top!" through gritted teeth she growled, a few darkened statics erupting from her figure as she forced herself forward, the rough end sliding through the hold in her chest until it came out on the other end, flooding red tumbling onto the ground as the wound rapidlly endeavoured its task of healing. "Oooh~? Did you want this crystal?" the crystal meet the palm of his hand, and he tossed it back and forth as if playing with a mer toy, a sudden expand of an arm hurling the item far and onto the straight path they arised on now. Askr's skull snapped into the direction of the fallen item, about to tread quickly into its direction before the sharp end of the spear snaked into her flesh again, this time, her stomach, an acute blade that pierced into her lungs and grazed her bones. Its end not meeting the other side. The influence of the attack caused her to fall to her knees, arms barely supporting her upper half as the pain that tickled at her nerves was unbearable at this moment.

She could feel the ambience of the stranger treading around her - jesting with her in a way that was anything but human. His reflecting foot-falls came in radius to her fallen figure, and the obscured vision was hardly enough to centrally converge her observations onto who he was. The muscles and tissue strung together, healing swiftly - motion of another hurling weapon confronting the rigid ground - defiled by blood. Her entire frame - still at blur - was alifted into the evening sky by the influence of her powerful legs - white locks seized into the glitter of stars by the gleam of the moon. Alien-red jerked into the direction, briefly at awe with the dazzle that clashed against his display as darkened bolts vomitted from her figure, cavorting through the veins so quickly that it was just an endeavour to perceive they were there. "Who.." as the fist advanced, it grazed his cheek, pulverizing the once smooth stone-ground into pieces, "Are you!?" anger was remarked in her blatant voice - splintering against the air - just like thunder. Parcels of stone piloted from the missed attack, dust exhaled against broken ground as the tidal wave rolled along the whole island - a current of powerful wind.

The clouds of motion severed, galled eyes exposed as she stood lowered in the crease now formed - gaze striking against the more charmed set of red - the very play of those features compelling a painful fixed grip against her lowered fists. "Heh.. I always knew you were powerful, but, I'd really like to see you from before.." a gesture was made with his hands, as if he were vocalizing to a crowd of people, "You danced around like a child, yet, your power was so immense that even the track you left in the earth broke the land into pieces. The others feared you, loathed you, and at the same time.. looked up to you.." as his gaze fell apon her, she was abashed by his "aimless" speech, meandering into his direction with folded arms.

"What the hell are you talking about?" with a query, a pause came with the ponder of careful spoken words, "I didn't ask for some stupid little story. I asked who you are." at her immediate fathoming of a sentence, his features unraveled into a more dull toned expression, and within a flash, he stood in-front of her. "You'll find out the day you take your last breath.. child of Corenglaw~." the name of her father - a singular set of letters that merged an unbearable form of violence -  a fist ascending forward as his hand embraced the attack with an effortless motion, her strength dispatching another wave of powerful wind across the island as various bolts thrashed out from her hand - none scathing the raven-haired male. "This is where fate changes." his words were scarcely audible and in an instant, the firm bony ankle belted into the side of her head - more forceful than her own attack - fingers cleaved against the ground, halting herself from being thrown into woodland. "I won't let some psycho take my only chance of getting home!" this time - she smirked.
