Before I even began anything, do not take this post as bashing. I'm just stating how things are, or in better words, how I see it.
There are many complaints. But, believe it or not I think most of these complaints aren't justified. Complaints that have to deal with mods taking long, or stuff like that do not have to be posted and can easily be dealt with in PMs. What one has to realize is that just like everyone on the site, Mods and Admins want to RP. They want to create this imaginary character because they fell in love with the anime/manga of Fairy Tail. RPing is supposed to be fun, you are supposed to be able to do anything your heart desires. It's like you were given the chance to create a character for the author and it can be any one you want. I do not know about anyone else, but I for one RP because I have fell in love with anime and manga, and because I lack the artistic skill, create a character I wish would be real.
Why must the fun and drive be sucked out because apps aren't getting checked instantly? Why must everyone need their magic approved in 2.5 seconds?
When I was first creating my character, Venir RuLush checked my magic. It took two weeks for the magic to be checked and usuable. Why?
Because we were busy.
She has commitments on the weekends, while I have sport commitments that took up most of my time on the weekdays. Was I mad at all about this? No. EVERYONE cannot be on 24/7 giving their whole life to a site. RPing is a past time, not a job. There is an app approval thread for all things, post there. Check it when you wake up, or when you go to sleep. If it sits their for days, PM someone! Communicate with someone! No one is a mind reader.
Honestly, the staff are not given enough credit. Zack for one despite his commitments is online. I have seems every single staff in the chat box and have talked to them. So they are online. Elyx (or as I call him, Elyzzzzzz) without a doubt can be bombarded with applications and still checks them. He literally says, "Okay on it! ^^" The '^^' are always there. Call them unfair, but the staff are good, they work.
But some complaints are undeniable. There are things that can be worked on, some things improved. But what members have to understand is that a new system cannot just be implented automatically. Small steps for a big thing. That's just how it is, that's just how RPing sites work.
However, when did maturity become so nonexistent? Whether complaints are legit or nonlegit, they are still complaints. Just because a complaint bashes or counteracts how something you liked it is, doesn't mean you should just reply 'K.' That is insanely immature and rude. Everyone here is a member, and a few are staff. Staff are chosen because of their work ethic and maturity. For a complaint to be replied with K by a dozen members and staff is shameful. Never have I seen that before. A boss would never tell a customer who complains K, no matter how pointless the complaint is.
The thing I myself believe this site lacks is openness. No offense to the staff, but some members make good points that are thrown away because they counteract. I personally believe Event Creation 101 was a great read, no matter how borderline bashing it was. Yes, it seemed mocking and immature, but the points were good. I could get more into that, but there is no need. What I'm trying to say is, do not be so quick to shrug off other ideas. They could be helpful. Everyone on this site has a voice, if they are staff or members.
Lastly, PVP. Everyone knows this an event and plot site that does not necessarily need PvP. Yet it was implented for a way to get EXP. This is great.
But the rules aren't. I will not name names, but their was an incident where one member activated the 7 post rule, yet some posts back they did not post for 15 days? The member who didn't post let the 15 day inactivity slide, as it seemed they understand how busy someone is. Yet the other member could not show this in return and wait for them? That's rude. And, said member was staff.
I had a job with Vexel. He didn't post, but I completely understood why not. Once again, people are busy! They can't be on this site night and day.
What this site lacks is not the mechanics, but understanding and mature people. Severely lacking is maturity and respect for others. There is no system that can be implanted to fix this, it starts and ends with how everyone acts.
But then again, what do I know? That's just how I see things.
