    History/Story
History: For centuries, the Adachihara Clan has been one of secrets, and known only for their supposed cruelty. At birth, Takashii was separated from his parents, and given to the Clan's temple, where all children were raised. Many knew mothing of their parents for the entirety of their lives. Few actually managed to figure out who was their mother or father. Takashii was no different. His earliest memories lie in the Temple, under the care of the surrogate "mothers" there. Out of all those early memories, the only one that holds an actual form to him was his branding day.

In the Adachihara Clan, a child is branded on their third birthday. The number three is considered symbolic, as the most revered lineage in the clan is Kohl's Plague, or, as known by the members of the clan, the Curse of the Third Eye. Those children who are found to have Kohl's Plague are branded differently. To any normal child, a branding would be on their right shoulder, a place often visible to the world. To a child with Kohl's Plague, the brand is placed on their left hip, and is often larger than the one on the shoulder. As the lineage is reverred, many young of the Clan are forbidden to walk with their upper body not covered by a shirt of some kind, to hide this mark. Takashii was found to be a child of Kohl's Plague ten days before his 3rd birthday. Thus, he was brought to the branding room and stripped down, the eldest of the Clan casting the spell to brand the Clan insignia on his hip. The spell had never been an easy one, as it is one that is nonremovable. Takashii remembers this day so well because of the pain it brought him, despite being at the age that most things simply fade from memory within a few years. With guild marks being an exception, members of the Clan are forbidden to have any other marks tattooed on their skin, having it believed to be unclean.

After the branding, Takashii was given a test, one to see whether he had the ability to do magic or not. This is anither thing only the eldest of the clan may do, and involves a spell to test the young child. Takashii, unlike the Branding Day, does not remember much of this. Only that he passed the test, and was put into magic training. One of the few things that children of the Adachihara Clan are permitted to choose is their magic. It is chosen at the age of 7, after four years of endless physical and mental training to fortify their bodies. They are then taken to the Clan Library, where all magics that the Adachihara Clan has collected and are able to train are taken. The child is then left there for three days and nights, along with food, and expected to read as many of the books as possible, and decide what their magic may be. Takashii himself avoided most of the books, finding one magic in particular more interesting: Moulding Magic.

It is one of the magics that the Adachihara Clan most rarely uses, considering it to be somewhat unconventional, if useful, in a way. But it was the magic Takashii chose, after defining it's element to be Earth. Earth, to Takashii, had always been a symbol of strength, and ability to endure. He wanted those qualities, and so he chose a Moulding Magic that suited what he wished to be. He started training then, being permitted, if somewhat reluctantly, to learn the magic. Even if he'd already chosen, Takashii found the library to be endlessly interesting, and devoted himself to reading it's entirety when he wasn't training, wanting all the information his clan could offer. It wasn't until the age of twelve that Takashii had finished all books in the library, and, after learning many basics of Moulding Magic, had devised his second spell, Mole, Wall being his first.

It was also at the age of twelve that Takashii met his mother. She snuck into his quarters in the temple at night, getting in through the window that Takashii had left open, more to let in air then women he thought he didn't know. Their meeting was short, during which he was told two things. The first, was that, before his 18th birthday, he needed to become able to escape the town, if need be. The second came with a locket, an intricately designed thing, with no key to open it. With this, he was told that there was a secret to the Clan that not even members themselves know, only those given expressed permission. Takashii's mother had gained that permission after many painstaking trials, and planned to pass it down, wanting to use it to aid the fall of the cruel Adachihara Clan. Takashii knew only half of its cruelty, she told him. Only the side where young children were wrenched from their mothers, and branded with painful spells, and forced to endlessly train, knowing none of the happy days most children had. She told him none of what this cruelty was, however, and simply left, giving him only a hint that, one day, the locket would open, and he would know for sure. She then left, and, even to this day, Takashii had never seen her again.

Training continued, and on his fifteenth birthday, sparring began, and more lf the Adachihara cruelty so hidden from those without magic wad revealed. It was divided be age group, and done with weapons. Matches to the death. Those who lost, they said, were unfit to represent the clan in the world. His age group started with 10 people. 5 days later, one match a day, only five remained, and the blood of one death already lay on each of the five's hands. Life became more morose then, none of the five talking or smiling much, only studying. Remembering the warning his mother had given him, he had a feeling that his 18th birthday would bring more of this horror among comrades. So, he studied and trained endlessly, worrying about the outcome.

When he turned seventeen, all 5 were tested. This was a test of knowledge, to see if their studies were effective. After this test, their scores were placed on a board, for all five students to see. Takashii had placed first, and thus became the brunt of the other four's glares, and mutters. The next day, the one who'd came in fifth disappeared. The four remaining knew what had happened, but all said nothing about it, fearing the repercussions of speaking.

Then the four turned 18, and hell descended.

In their sleep, they were locked into a room together, no explanation given. They were left, and the four sat on confusion. Expecting to be let out eventually, the three other than Takashii played endlessly, thinking it to be a sort of break. Takashii sat quietly, understanding what had come. After the day let out, the others began to understand as well, and all four fell quiet, their faces as dark as the shadows the firey torches created in the corners. Nothing happened for two days, only endless waiting, and hunger pangs. On the third day, they were released, and inmediately taken to an arena. There they were left, and told that the one who could triumph three times is the one that would be released. Takashii blinked, still for a moment as two of the four began to fight, understanding now the cruelty of the clan. Though, from the locket that lay around his neck, hidden under his shirt, he knew there was more. He released his Mole into the ground, bidding it to tunnel out of the clan grounds, and then create a pitfall when he bid it to. The mole scurried off, and Takashii was left to fight.

He ended up using the pointed, blade-like end of his locket as a weapon. Three came after him, intent to kill, and three died, the faces of those he knew from birth falling blank as their bodies fell to the floor. It was the first day Takashii ever cried, and the day he escaped, the floor falling through as the Mole finished its work, and he escaped the grounds through a tunnel, his Wall plugging the hole.

Even once free, life was hard. He found work on a farm after weeks of traveling and begging for food. He worked during the day, and at night, visited the tavern, listening for information on his Clan, or any other info he might deem useful. It was there he heard of the Suripingu Mori guild, and it was there he decided to join.

It took him many, many months to find the guild, going off stale rumors and hints to find its location. In that time, he turned nineteen, the anniversary of his day of killing all he held dear fresh in his mind. At nineteen and six minths, he completed his task, arriving at the door of Suripingu Mori. A door, he hoped, to his true freedom from the Adachihara Clan.

A door stood in front of him. Snapping his book shut, Takashii glanced up at it, his gaze curious. It had taken him a while to find this place. Of course, that was downing it a bit. Neutral guilds and Independant guilds, like this one, were always a bit harder to find than legal guilds. He assumed that they moved around a lot, but he could always be wrong. One never really knew. Shaking his head, Takashii reached his hand back, tucking his book into a side pocket of his bag. He could always finish that later. He then placed his hands gently on the door, leaning forward until the door opened with a creak. Stepping inside, the Earth mage looked around. Sure, he'd found the guild, but assimilating into things was always a whole different deal. For one, he could be rejected. He hopes not, however, considering that that would have been a waste of a very long time walking. Absently, he lifted his hand up, brushing his finger against the emblem on his lower stomach. He had no desire to return there without having done anything. "Hallo?" Takashii finally spoke, glancing around. He made his way further into the building, his head tipping into the side. His eyes searched, wondering who it was he was supposed to speak to.
