Kite exited his cabin and began the walk to the guild hall, Luckily he didn’t live too far out from it. He was fortunate that it was a nice day out, not a single cloud in the sky and the sun was shining nicely down on him. ”What a day, It’s almost a waste to be going out on a job on a day like this.. but who knows.” Kite looked up to the sky again and continued to speak out loud bringing his thoughts out to the surface. ”Maybe this nice day is a good sign that an easy job will be lined up for me” Kite said with a smile. In about no time at all Kite arrived at the guild hall and he didn’t waste anytime entering the guild hall and immediately had intended on walking over to the job request board almost immediately upon entering one of the members of the guild who was in charge of passing out mail to the Guild members rushed over to Kite holding a rather large cardboard box in his hand. “ Hey Kite, this came for you today! I have no idea what’s inside but it has some weight behind it” he said as he stretched his arms outward to hand off the box to Kite, who reached and clamped on the box with both hands. ”Thanks” Kite said as he took the box over to an empty table and placed it on the table’s top and looked over the package before he opened it. Right on the top of the box was Kite’s full name next to the word “To” and the Initials SM next to the word From. ”That’s certainly strange…. I don’t think I know anyone with the initials SM” Kite said to himself as he felt the curiosity of what was contained in the package begin to control his actions, however he was feeling something rather ominous about the package but continued to open it regardless. Kite let his finger heat up and he dragged it along the tape on the top of the box and then opened it revealing small black book with the title Samuel Martin’s Diary and an orb covered in a black cloth. Kite opened the black book with the thought in his mind ”Who would send me a book let alone a diary”. Kite began to skim the contents of the book and read it to himself.
”12 February, Day 647. Today was a fun day. Me and Mary went on a picnic near the forest and spent the whole day talking about meaningless things. It really was a blissful experience and since she didn't have any problems today we were able to forget about reality, even if for just a day. 19 February, Day 654. It happened again. Mary collapsed again today and started mumbling about magical gates and how everything is going to be a nightmare. This is happening more and more often and I am getting really concerned now. No doctor knows what's wrong with her...25 February, Day 660. This is really getting out-of-hand! With each passing day Mary becomes more and more delirious. I don't know what to do any more. I've contacted every doctor and every mage I could find, but no one knows what's wrong with her. There has to be someone that can help...1 March, Day 664. This is my last hope. I contacted an exorcist who is said to be able to cure cases like Mary's. He's going to come tomorrow night. Maybe the end of this nightmare would finally come.2 March, Day 665. It's a little before midnight now. The priest is going to come any minute and put Mary's troubled mind to peace once again. 3 March, Day 666. I... don't believe it. I remember last night... the purification ceremony... then something happened and I was sent flying, and Mary ran away towards the Spooky Forest. When I came to, the priest was lying on the ground with his heart gourged out. What on Earth happened last night? There's no time to waste, I know she's somewhere in the forest so I have to find her. I'll contact a couple friends from the Rune Knights and we'll set off to search for her. Please be okay, my love...". He read it all until the pages had run out, and he couldn’t comprehend what he had just read but from what he read he could understand that a demon, or a demonic force might have been in play, that is when Kite close the book and noticed that cover and the corners of the pages were stained in something red….. ”Is that blood!” He said to himself and then went to reach in the box for the recorder lacrima and pulled it out and was confused to why he had be the recipient of this package. This certainly was seemingly the downfall of what seemed like a pleasant day.
