The Slayer and the Ace

The air that swept through out the mountain range known as the Phoenix Mountains, where the demon slayer of Sabertooth found himself sitting by the bonfire of his makeshift campsite. Kite found a small area just off the main path that weaved through the mountain where he could set up for the night with the mountain to his back and away from any ledges. Located behind him, separated from the bon fire by only his body was the tent he put up for the night. While he didn’t need to have a tent to protect himself from the overly cold air he did prefer to have something between himself and any possible hazard that he could come across whether it be man, beast or any other undesirable guests for that matter. The fire that burned in front of Kite wasn’t white like the flames he employed but were a standard yellow flame burning some papers and some small kindling that Kite brought along for the ride. The fire was contained by a barrier made up of stones that he found laying around and had a stick in the ground with an animal firmly and securely stuck on the stake cooking near the fire. Kite rubbed his hands together and held them out at the fire all the while looking out at the view just on the other side of the path "quite the view I got here " he said smiling, basking in the beauty of nature that the mountains provided "And I got this far in only a day not bad at all ". Kite didn’t make a habit of travelling anywhere unless there was a reason for it, but this time was an exception he wanted to train and figured what better way to do that than to explore a rigorous mountain trail.

Kite had finished eating the animal he had cooked and then proceeded to eat up the flames from his bonfire and started to get settled in his tent for a quick nap before he continued on his journey. His intended nap was interrupted when he heard the sound of multiple voices coming from the trail below further down the way, the way he had come from. Luckily Kite wasn’t undressed yet and only had the suspenders for his pants hanging down at the sides instead of over his shoulders and he exited his tent and stood outside of it waiting to see who the newcomers were. There were five of them total all dressed for colder weather and were all around the same height which was about 5 foot with the exception of the one bringing up the rear who stood slightly over 6 feet but still shorter than himself. They all looked up at Kite and approached his camp site surrounding it and him with his back facing the mountain side "Can I help you fellows? " he asked keeping a friendly demeanor but by no means was he dropping his guard. They didn’t say much but the taller one, much more muscular grinned and crossed his arms “yeah you can blueberry, you can give us your camp and all you got on ya” he said as he made a flicking motion with his hands signalling his flunkies to begin to move on him looking to take him on all at once. "Let’s see four of you wanna take on little ol me? " he paused and looked at the big man "or do I hear five? just so you know these guys won’t put up much of a fight even if they all come at me at once you know " he said to their apparent boss who just scoffed at Kite’s boasting comment. One on the men in the semi circle charged at Kite with a fist chambered and firing at him looking to catch him off guard “ Take this you cocky jackass” he yelled as he tried to hit Kite with a hard right. Kite’s eyes locked on the man’s approach and concentrated more on the incoming fist. Kite answered the man’s attack by lifting his right hand up and catching the punch, the impact of fist to hand caused a smacking sound but that was all, Kite’s gaze was unchanged and his grip tightened around the fist and started to squeeze.

Kite reached with his free hand and gripped the wrist of the attacking man and turned his rotating hips into the man tossing him over his shoulder and hard into the tent. Two more men pulled out club like weapons and came at Kite swinging, with instinct he ducked under the first swing and front rolled so the men were behind him, "Flame Demon’s…. " he said as he was rotating. Kite turned and threw a punch in mid air "Flare Fist! ", erupting from his fist was even larger fist made out of his white flames shot forward catching both men in a small explosion and sending them crashing into the mountain side. Kite’s glare met the last standing flunkie who wasn’t moving just staring at the damage that was just caused in front of him. "Unless you and your boss wants a piece I suggest you leave " he said for only the boss walk in front of him now between Kite and his men “We will leave when we want to!” he shouted and threw his hand forward firing a stream of magic which exploded in Kite’s face causing flames to sprout from it. The boss’s grin soon vanished as the flames began to vanish and funneled into Kite’s mouth to his belly. "Nice try jackass, Fire won’t work " he said confidently knowing that he had an advantage over him. However The boss noticed something Kite didn’t and that was the ground Kite was now on was unstable due to the explosion. "Time to go home " he said pointing back down where they came from. The boss grinned seeing Kite had no idea “meet you down there” he said as he sent another explosion at Kite but this time aimed at his feet this time causing the ground beneath him to give way and he began to plummet towards the ground. "That was sloppy, shit gotta act fast " he said as he turned his body so is back was to the cliff side "Flame Demon’s Rage " he shouted and let a stream of Fire push him to the wall which he grabbed as he continued to fall but it wasn’t enough to stop his speed and the next thing he knew everything was black as his back hit the surface of an extended cliff.
