Personality:
Myra Mazza is a man of incredible resolve above all else. He’s a man who forsake a rich inheritance and easy life to “fight for a better world.”  He went from riches to rags to learn the way of the blade so he could cut away the evils of the world. Myra dedicated himself to his cause like a mad dog and worked himself to the bone. He probably would have chased that ideal to death until he was saved. Explaining how he was “saved,” would completely spoil his person story so lets skip ahead. Anyone who sees him now sees a man who has more in common with a tool than a human. He suppress all of his own emotions regardless of the situation and acts exclusively on orders of Meruem. In combat his first priority is the protection of Meruem and the execution of his enemies is a decently close second. He is brutally efficient wasting little time once battle has begun, he believes the best way to defend his master is to quickly dispatch threats before they can attack so he always goes for the first blow. He will without hesitation throw his own body in front of attacks aimed at Meruem. Who he is underneath is anybody’s guess but anyone can see he possesses loyalty like no other, he does the will of his master without fail. The only time he does something without Meruem telling him is because Myra already knows Meruem wants it done. He backs out of leadership roles, being used to having Meruem calling the shots. But what’s under the mask? What is he like off duty? Spoilers.

Meruem however is an open book and is quite the character. The tiny genie is the king of all genies, however he is too young and undeveloped to rule so at present an interim ruler is running things. As the interim ruler doesn’t really want to give up his rule when Meruem grows up and being young Meruem is an incredibly easy target for assassination for his own safety Meruem has fled the land of the genie and has employed Myra to protect him until maturity. Meruem doesn’t really understand the ways of human society and is dependant on Myra to both protect him from danger and to take care of him. Despite living as a constant target Meruem doesn’t let that spoil his mood. He is filled with incredible amounts of energy, excitement, mischief, curiosity and youthful innocence. He is aloof beyond all reason, and has a primary focus on fun. Meruem actively seeks entertainment to satisfy his childish mind. But he isn't stupid, Meruem understands he is weak and needs Myra to survive. In combat he is a coward hiding behind Myra at all times to avoid danger.

But honestly this is an overly flattering depiction of the duo. Meruem is the king of a powerful magic race who are far more powerful and developed them humans. Naturally genie do not think of humans as much more than apes and have little adherence for their laws.  While his dependency on Myra has made Meruem think more of humans then a normal genie would so he doesn’t kill them for kicks. However despite being clearly titled the King of Genie, he seems to believe himself king of humans as well(not literally but he can be a royal pain). Meruem has no problem bossing people around and is hasty to do so even if he has no authority over them and he will quickly become flustered if people refuse his orders. He does not answer to human authority and essentially does whatever he wants using Myra to break any barriers in his path. Whatever has earned Myra’s loyalty to Meruem is great enough that Myra will defy human law without hesitation, stealing, destroying and subjugating whatever his master desires. Would he even kill an innocent human? It hasn’t been requested of him yet so not even Myra knows what he would do given the order.

Likes:
-Castles: Being a king Meruem is naturally drawn to castles and greatly desires one.
-I’m the hero!: Meruem does indulge himself in playing hero, even if Myra pulls all the weight. As long as there is reward money involved.
-Loyal Subjects: What is a king without subjects to do his whim? Sure Meruem knows he won’t be bossing around any genie any time soon but he wouldn’t mind having a few human butlers around.
Dislikes:
-Music: It’s just dumb noise. Genie don’t have a concept of it.
-Art: Genie and human have very different ideas of beauty. So human art can be straight repulsive to Meruem.
-Loose Women: The first one of these to belong to Myra. The swordsmen is highly agitated by women who throw around their “feminine charm,” freely. Any romantic advances on him can be expected to go horribly.
Motivations:
-Greed: Meruem wants, money, power, fame, and everything else in the world! There is no such thing as no such thing.
-Master and Servant: A mutual bond between the two drive them to look after each other even if Myra is subordinate to Meruem.
-The Holy Grail: Myra has given his services to Meruem for a price. He does not simply serve this genie out of the goodness of his heart, there is a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow for Myra.
Fears:
-Death: Meruem can’t rule if he dies and Myra doesn’t get his pay off if Meruem dies. They are mutually invested in preserving the genie’s life.
-Destruction: Don’t you dare damage the property of the king.
-Darkness: Well he is just a kid, Meruem is terrified of the dark.
