    Job Description :

    embers
    It's like I'm screaming ,
    and no one can hear.

Rumors. Everywhere she went, the one thing she heard was rumors. They often varied from topic to topic, but for the past couple of days, she had noticed that they revolved around one top; the Lost Saint's treasure vault. With a small sound, similar to a 'tch' escaping her lips, she continued striding down the dirty cemented path laid in front of her, and throughout the journey, she heard more and more of the same rumors.

After many agonizing minutes, she finally reached her destination; the Basilisk Fang guild hall. Pushing the large, cold doors of the guild open, she strides in, her clothes pleasing her with the scent of blood from her recent kill; which of course was an unknown stranger who continued on about the damn vault. Her patience wore thin and the urge to kill pumped in.

Her midnight shaded lush black hair waved as she walked over to the wall in the far end of the guild hall. The wall stood out in the cold vicinity due to the adornment of white sheets on it. Raising her pale hand, she grabbed one before ripping it off, and much to her dismay, it held the same content that managed to rip someone's life away by her hands.

Letting out a small sigh, with a hint of annoyance, she gazed over the content thoroughly, wanting to know what all the commotion had been about. Her crimson gaze glided along the sheet as she read through. "So the magic council wants our help?" She stated with a scoff. What made them think that she, or any other illegal mage for that fact, would help them? She despised the magic council, she had no reason to help them. But alas, avarice got the better of her as her gaze reached the end on the page.

The reward was treasure. Thinking again, maybe she could do it; as it involved killing and gaining profit. A small smirk slid onto her face as she knew her adventure for the day.

let me feast upon the cries of your agony

Sprawled across the pearl painted sheets of the velvety bed lay a dress; crimson outlining its façade, an intricate assortment of designs and frills layering the attire as mirroring hues fixated themselves upon the article of clothing. A woman stood, across the bed; nothing covering the paleness of her skin as, her sepia locks straightened out, arrays of droplets of water decorating it as well, as inches of her skin. Her fingers curled upon, a soft, delicate, white towel as she raised it up and patted herself throughout; her arms, chest, stomach, legs and hair; hence, eradicating the minute droplets. A shutter enveloped her eyes, before, a gentle opening traversed the incandescent red of her eyes to, a steely amethyst. In mere moments, she had clutched the dress and adorned herself within it; the base of it, stooping at her knees as she stood now; bathed in crimson.

However, unfortunately for Laycie, it was not the crimson she desired. Whereas this specter outlined a mere dress; the one she fathomed upon, was the crimson that coursed through the veins of each and every. Blood. Of a human’s, more specifically. Oh, how the sight of it exhilarated her. A rush of yearning of it as, flashes of her lacerating the paltry existence of those known as ‘humans’ engaged her; arising a sense of euphoria to captivate the demon. However, despite her longing, all Laycie had to do was wait for a few more moments. For in the time span of a few hours, blood would embellish her every core. That was the venture for that specific day. The genesis of the idea being relayed through a mere piece of paper. A paper that allocated itself within, the confines of the Basilisk Fang guild hall; upon, a wooden board as it awaited to be read. And, that was what Laycie did. For, as her mauve hues had previously, enveloped the guild hall; her inquisitiveness led her to the board filled with job requests. However, within them; perhaps, only one stood out. By the reason that it bared upon it, the crest of the Magic Council.

The mere pattern captivated the demon’s attention as, she had abruptly read through the contents; her lips, framing a ghost of a smirk upon it. The Magic Council requested aid. To be desperate enough to approach dark guilds must have signified great importance for the object of obtainment. Albeit, from the words of the sheet; the originators of the treasure – The Original Ten Wizard Saints – were, renowned across, the levels of Hell, as well. A desperation to attain the opulence they left in their wake initiated, an incentive for any to have the wealth. And, as Laycie thought so, her endeavor had been decided for the day. She would venture within the Ancient Ruins and welcome within her, the life force of Harper Goldenshine.

And hence, here she was; within the splendor of her own, little room as, she readied herself for a hellish encounter with an array of Hunters. Her gaze slithered out of her window; the howls of the gale and the slight, seeping of the light informing her that it was still, morning. Plenty of time, she thought as her feet descended the stairs that lined the expanse of Basilisk Fang; her mind engulfed in a rapturing reverie of its own, filled with malignance that was awaiting the demon. However, the peering of a question within the reticent guild hall erupted a fissure within her thought process as, twin pools of mauve scrutinized the midnight haired figure amid, the bleak hall who, interrupted the silence that engulfed it.

Tap, tap. Went the chime of the aphotic haired woman’s heels; an alert of her presence as, her voice seeped forth, from her lips; her form yet, descending the stairs; a response for the query put forth, by Annora. “When one needs to attain something of great importance, they travel through the deepest seas and venture upon, the highest mountains to obtain it. They would be willing to do anything. This little monologue applies, in this current situation. The Lost Saint’s Treasure is of great nobility and concern. The Magic Council, would do anything within their power to obtain it; hence, they even seek the help of us; the ones they’re trying to dispose of. It’s quite an interesting situation, wouldn’t you agree, Annora? Despite, our rivalry with the Council, which will perhaps, continue for millennia’s as, evil never slumbers; you have to admit the reward is rather, enthralling. The previous beguilement on your face has been replaced by one seeking the reward as well, am I right?” At this point, a halt ensued in her speech; her form positioned directly in front of Annora; hands, crossed, elegantly, underneath her chest as she continued forth. “Albeit, I’m not going for the reward, but rather, the thrill of the homicide and more importantly, the naïve and desperate, nature of humans, themselves. But I’d be willing to take you along. I can foresee, it would be a very, very interesting mission.”
