Into the Pit

The day started off just like any other day, Kite woke up in his new room in a small cabin located only a short distance from his Sabertooth’s guild hall. He sat up swinging in his bed and pulled his blankets off revealing that he was shirtless which in turn showed off his muscular body that had a few scars left from when he trained with his demon mentor, he was was wearing a pair of compression shorts which were typically his sleep wear. Kite let out a yawn and rubbed his eyes fully waking up ”YAhhhh, man I swear nights grow shorter and shorter” he said to himself as he swung his legs over the edge of the bed with his arms in the air as he stretched out the muscles that became stiff over the night. Kite planted his feet and stood up out of his bed and went over to his window and pulled back the curtains showing that the sun was just peaking out from over the distance.

With a rumble of his stomach Kite gave his tummy a pat ” Alright, point made time for food” he said made his way into the kitchen to cook himself up a nice meal, but what would he make? Kite opened the refrigerator and noticed that he had some eggs and bread and coffee, so he he made himself an old style breakfast complete with eggs that were scrambled, toast and coffee that he drank black and piping hot. He let out a burp upon finishing his meal and laughed a bit ”Now that was a good breakfast!” Kite said out loud while he took his dirty dishes and dumped them in the sink. He put his gaze on the door and grinned ” I will wash these later time to get to work”. Today was a day that Kite decided that he would go out and take a job, but what job that would be would be determined based on what he could find at the guild.

Kite walked back into his bedroom and started to get dressed for the day ahead of him. He opened the drawer and pulled out the pants of his choice. He chose his usual Blue fatique pants and pulled them up and buttoned them, he grabbed a pair of socks and slid them on and then his combat boots which he had his pants tucked into. He then picked up his black shirt without the sleeves. He usually would take his goggles with him but he decided to leave them behind for the day. After he had finished getting dressed and started to exit the room and then eventually his cabin. It didn’t take very long for Kite to reach the guild hall from where he was living and when he arrived he walked up the steps and pushed the doors open so he could walk into the guild hall. ”Good morning everyone!” he said to anyone who would be willing to return his greeting.

The alarm clock rung and startled the female who was peacefully engrossed in her slumber. Riley groaned as she waved her hand around frantically trying to shut the piece of equipment. Her small hand went and hit the device, making it fall dead to the ground. She slowly lifted herself up from her lying position as a yawn escaped her mouth. The black haired female rubbed her eyes to shun out the drowsiness. Her purple eyes landed on a furry creature, curled up on the bed. Riley smiled as she ruffled Theo's fur with her hand, "Come on boy, it's rime to wake up." The young arctic wolf slowly opened his eyes, making him seem rather innocent.

The female slayer chuckled before getting off of her bed. Her mid thigh length shorts and sleeveless shirt left her skin feeling cold as she got out of the warmth of the comforters. She dragged her feet to the window and opened up the beige curtains, hissing as the sunlight touched her eyes. She rushed into the bathroom before taking a refreshing shower, brushing her teeth and then changed into a pair of red shorts, paired with a white sleeveless, baggy shirt and a pair of red converse. Her short hair was left open as she exited the hotel room and headed straight towards the Sabertooth guild hall, followed by the young wolf.

It didn't take the two long to reach the guildhall. Riley pushed the door open and walked in, greeted by some of the members to whom she smiled back. Wanting to do something fun and adventurous today, she stood in front of the request board and gazed upon the flyers that stood there, waiting to be noticed, "Theo, which job should we go on?" She looked down to see her friend missing. Her purple gaze immediately traveled to the center of the guildhall where the young creature played with his tiny friends. The black haired female chuckled before turning back to the board. Soon, she heard a loud voice. Turning around, her gaze landed on a man who had entered the guild. She had seen him around before so she knew he wasn't a new member. She smiled towards him before turning back towards the board and falling into the dilemma of choosing a job.

After Kite had entered the guild hall he gave a rather nice greeting to his fellow guildmates. A couple of his guild mates turned and waved, some actually said hi to him. “Good morning Kite” one of the members said to him. ”Morning guys” He said and then turned his attention to the job request board.He saw the girl standing at the request board who had looked over to him when he said hello but she wasn’t one of the people to say hi to him when he greeted everyone. Seeing her standing there gave him the pretty good idea of going on a job. It made perfect sense when he thought about it, he wanted to go out and do something rather fun and possibly get into a good fight or two and actually get paid for it. ”That might work out but do I actually want to work today?” he asked himself. After he had contemplated it for a second or two he decided that it would be in his best interest to at least take a gander at the board and see if there were any jobs worth taking. He slid his hands into his pockets and made his way over to the request board which he could tell had several flyers hanging from it.

He took his time and by the time he made it up to the board the girl who was standing there when he walked in was still there looking up at the board. Kite looked over at her while she was looking and took in her appearance. She had a slender build with jet black hair that was styled short and was kept out of her face. He took in what she was wearing which was a pair of red shorts, wore a baggy sleeveless shirt that was a little baggy on her and she was wearing a pair of red converse sneakers. Over all she seemed to be pretty nice but he had actually never had the pleasure of speaking with her before. He smiled at her and gave a slight nod ”Good morning” he said to her, he would have addressed her by name but he hadn’t learned of her name yet. He gave a cheerful smile and then let his red eyes stray away from the young woman and took a much better look at the mission board. ”let’s see, do we have anything good today or should I go on a random adventure?” he thought to himself and looked over several flyers.

The board was had several jobs on it starting from simple menial tasks such as chores and errands to dealing with small time monsters and such. Kite looked at each flyer reading the details of each of the job flyers and the rewards. ”Hmm doesn’t seem to be much here” He said out loud as he had his fingers stroking his chin as he read them. He wasn’t giving up hope though, he knew if he would look hard enough he would find a decent paying job that he could actually enjoy doing. After about a moment or two of looking he didn’t see a single job request that peaked his interest and he was going to walk away from the request board and go wander aimlessly for a bit but that is when he took notice of a flyer that he didn’t see before. The title was cut and dry titled “Monster Pit in the cursed lands”. Kite turned his body back to the board and narrowed his sights on this particular flyer. He had been in the cursed lands before for a mission, his first mission actually. He had received a note from Levi, an old friend of his asking for his help and it took him to the cursed lands where there was an over abundance of evil permeating the area, the perfect place for a Demon Slayer such as himself. ”Well, isn’t that something” He said out loud and started to reach out for it.

Kite held the flyer with the details of the job in his hand and for the most part Kite was already sold on the job. It was in the cursed lands which actually gave him a bit of an advantage seeing as his magic worked well against those with an over abundance of evil as well as his already existing knowledge on eradicating evil. Being a bit anxious Kite looked down at the flyer and began to read over it however he didn't realize that he wasn’t the only one who was interested in looking over the flyer ” help wanted! In the cursed land there is a pit full of monsters and horrid creatures; this pit is typically used for training purposes but for some reason the several monsters contained in the pit have been able to escape their confines and have been causing a bit of trouble in the area. Please help detain then escaped monsters and investigate what is happening. Sincerely, anonymous, hmmm seems like a simple enough job, but this being an anonymous request makes me weary" he thought to himself.

Kite finished reading the flyer and looked up for a second at the ceiling thinking over the current situation in his mind. Going to the pit seemed like a really fun time and could prove invaluable as far as training would go not to mention having monsters roam around that had to be detained to begin with seemed a bit fishy to him. It was in this train of thought that Kite finally realized he wasn’t the only one who was standing by the mission board and what’s more the person who was also there was looking right at him as she spoke to him. She simply gave him a simple greeting in a cheery voice. She then told him that she wanted to take a look at the job that was on the flyer. Kite looked down at the flyer and then back at the short girl standing in front of him while he contemplated handing her the flyer with the job on it he took in what he saw. The girl was short, about 2 feet shorter than himself and she had black colored hair as well as purple colored eyes, she was wearing a pair of red shorts, a loose fitted sleeveless shirt and a pair of red shorts. Kite smiled at her and shifted the flyer in her direction ”here you can take a look at it if you want “ he said to her. While holding it out he smiled ”however I fully plan on taking this job myself “ he said to her letting her know that he fully intended on completing the job.
