*kicks down door* CHRYSSA HAS ARRIVED

There was a rather warm breeze on the young girl's way to the guild she had recently joined: Fairy Tail. Chryssa Orabel hummed cheerfully as she walked up the few steps to the guild before swinging open the door. The strong scent of alcohol and another indistinguishable smell hit her as she stepped inside of the crowded hall. Looking around the place she located the guild's bar.

Chryssa pushed her purple fringe back away from her eyes before walking to the counter and asking for a glass of milk. Not just any milk though, chocolate milk. After she had received her drink, she sat down on a bar stool and pulled out her favourite green curly straw from her bag and started to slowly sip her drink, yawning out of boredom.

"I'm boooooooorrreeeddd." She whined to anyone listening. Chryssa had yet to make any friends at the guild as she had only been there once to join and receive her black guild mark.

Someone had committed the ultimate taboo. Everyone who noticed, which was to say everyone in ear shot suddenly moved away from Chryssa, not a soul dared breath a word. It was so fast if she wasn't paying attention she probably wouldn't notice for a second or two. That second was all that was needed. From above a shadow seemed to appear out of thin air before rocketing downward towards the bar. The shadow was small and moved at blinding speed but somehow still landed silently on top of the bar standing over Chryssa. As soon as it stopped moving the shadow faded revealing the guild master of Fairy Tail standing with his arms crossed and his face tight with anger. Simon, from his perch on top of the bar, looked down at the new member "Who gave you permission to be bored?!"

He uncrossed his arms and pointed a finger dramatically at her "Every member should know. In these halls boredom is the only crime!" The guild master had the attention of the guild at this point, everyone uneasily watched the event unfolding. Even members who had seen it happen before could not predict what Simon would do next. "So! What have you to say for yourself?!"

"Hm...?" A mostly-black tail with a tuft of white fur on the end wagged back and forth as some excitement in the Guild Hall picked up. Its owner? Lucky the Exceed of course! He was currently standing atop his companion Blue's head, who was seated at the bar top with his nose in a book. Lucky glanced down at his partner and nudged the top of his head with his foot in a vain attempt to get his attention. "You've read through that book a zillion times already...are you spell checking it or something?" Blue didn't even blink, just flipped the page and continued reading. The title on the front of the tome read: The Fundamentals of Ice-Make. An interesting read, for sure. "I've gotta memorize all these, Luck. If I don't know the basics by heart I'll never grasp the more advanced stuff..." It's what he told himself, but honestly the youth had already shown remarkable prowess with Ice-Make. Especially for having taught himself and only actually using the Magic for such a short span of time. He had an incredible understanding it...and had begun to show an affinity for the more advanced parts of it.

Lucky would call him a prodigy...but then his head would get too full of hot air.

The Exceed turned his attention back towards what had first caught his attention. Some girl he'd never seen around the Guild Hall before and Simon, doing his Simon thing. Lucky overheard some tidbits of the conversation and looked on in earnest, wondering what was going to happen again. "Simon's being a ham again." the cat spoke to Blue, a small grin forming on the Exceed's face. His companion once again offered nothing in the way of response, choosing instead to continue reading. Who was this newcomer? What kind of Mage was she? And did she know any cute lady cats? All very good questions that needed to be asked...and that's exactly what the Exceed intended to do!

Chryssa looked at the angry mage.
"Frick frick frick I screwed up I screwed up." She internally panicked.
"I... U-um..." The young girl stuttered, trying to get the words out.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't realise that was a rule here u-um..." The poor mage struggled with her words. She looked around the angry mage and saw that everyone was listening to their exchange.
"Is there something I can do to make it up to you?" She asked with a bit more confidence. Chryssa was playing with her hair as she asked this; it was one of her habits she has when she gets nervous. Out of the corner of her eye Chryssa noticed an exceed looking at her and she glanced back curiously, forgetting her conversation with the mage in front of her entirely.

Simon jumped off the bar and started walking towards the door. He didn't look at Chryssa when he said "Grab someone from in here and come outside. You're going to show me why you joined Fairy Tail." With that he walked out the front doors throwing them open to wait for Chryssa outside.

Blue continued re-reading his tome and Lucky continued to stare. Eventually the cat's gaze was met by the newcomer, to which Lucky reacted by throwing up a paw in the shape of a peace sign. The cat grinned...but his expression was soon replaced by one of confusion as Simon said something to the girl, hopped down from the bar, and made his way outside. "Is she getting kicked out...?" he wondered, folding his little Exceed arms and tilting his head to the side as he looked on. Lucky didn't know Simon all that well, but from what he'd seen in the past he didn't seem like the kind of guy to do something like that. Maybe she- "Lucky..." came a strained voice from below that broke the Exceed's train of thought.

The cat glanced down at his companion, who was glaring up at him with a weird look on his face. It almost looked like...he was in pain? "Claws." was his abrupt explanation, even gesturing towards the Exceed's legs atop his head. Lucky just gave an, "Oh." before retracting his pointed appendages (to the sound of a large sigh of relief from Blue). The young Mage tenderly rubbed his head and grumbled something before going back to his book. Lucky just kept looking back and forth between the girl and Simon. What was gonna happen next?!

Chryssa watched the mage walk away with a look of confusion and panic written on her face.
"Shit I need to find someone." the girl franctically searched over the guild until her eyes came to a stop on the mage the exceed from before was standing on. Chryssa talk a deep breath and walked over to the blue haired mage and the exceed.
"Hey um... Would you be able to come outside with me..?" she asked nervously, twisting her hair around her fingers.

The doors swung shut behind Simon even though he didn't touch them. Freaking wizards and their wizard things. When he was sure no one could see him Simon clasped his hands to his head "Oh shit. I mean I looked super cool and like a proper leader person back there. But now what? Shit shit shit when she comes out I've got to have some kind of trial or another..." Simon struggled for ideas but payed close attention to the door, for the second it so much as cracked open he would snap into a heroic pose and his stern look of disapproval would return. But until then he was a nervous wreak. Wizards and their weirdo personalities.

"Yo!~" came a high-pitched greeting from Lucky, who also threw out a paw in the shape of a peace sign towards the girl who'd approached them. Blue was much too engrossed in his book to even look over his shoulder, but her words did somehow manage to pierce his concentration. Unfortunately...he had some much needed reading to do, so he wasn't gonna be able to help her with whatever Simon had cooked up. "Can't, I'm bus-" "Of course we can!" Lucky chimed in before jumping off of his companion's head and onto the book he held, causing it to slam down on the bar top. Blue's eye twitched irritably as he inched his head closer to the Exceed. "What'd I tell you about agreeing to random things?" he asked, butting heads with the cat. But Lucky couldn't be deterred! He pushed right back with his head and gave a malicious grin as he responded with, "What'd I tell you about reading all the time and never doing anything fun?" A spark of confrontation flashed between the two as they each grit their teeth. It was almost like they were growling at eachother! It probably would've escalated even further if Lucky didn't yank his head back, grab Blue's book, and jump onto the floor of the Hall.

The Exceed smiled up at the girl as he began to walk, hoping she would walk beside him as he introduced himself. "I'm Lucky! And that shorty back there is Blue..." If they were listening, they might hear something along the lines of, "WHO THE HELL'RE YOU CALLIN' SHORT?!" over the usual commotion in the Guild Hall. Lucky just kept walking, ignoring his companion as he continued to talk to Chryssa. "So are you new to Fairy Tail?" The Exceed tossed an evil smirk over his shoulder at his companion. "YOU BETTER RUN, YOU FURBALL!" If there was one thing that could ever spur the young Mage to action, it was jab at his height. When Lucky and Chryssa got outside, Blue was surely going to be right behind them.

Following the exceed outside, Chryssa was finding it very hard to hold back her laughter at the reaction of her fellow guildmate. She felt like she would fit in with this guild quite nicely. She heard the exceed next to her ask a question and she turned to give her reply.
"Yeah I've only been here a couple a days." she answered with a smile. "I'm Chryssa by the way, Chryssa Orabel. What are your names?" They had finally arrived outside, a warm breeze was blowing and had caused Chryssa to hold her dress down a little.

Simon in the nick of time had decided what he was going to do to them now that he had them out here. He stomped his foot on the ground and said, "You Chryssa have committed the ultimate taboo of Fairy Tail. The high crime of accepting boredom. In these halls when we experience boredom we do not sit idly by complaining about it, waiting for something to come along to save us. We embrace our boredom in a bear hug of death strangling it until it leaves us alone!" The phoenix mage was probably not the best at metaphors but that didn't stop him from trying "So. To teach you this in a way you'll never forget I'm going to take you to the pinnacle of our war against boredom. In this guild there is a man who travels the world seeking adventure and battle, and in all his travels he has made a great monument to his own accomplishment. In my opinion the guy's a ham but whatever."

Simon took a moment to look over Chryssa's choice of companion. Lucky and some blue haired guy. Why are there so many cats here? Oh well he's probably better then Garfield. His meditations on cats aside he pointed a finger at Chryssa and Blue saying "If you want to be a great mage of Fairy Tail this place is one you must go to. But it isn't safe by any means of the imagination. Think about what is really important to you. Think about why you joined Fairy Tail. Are you willing to put your life on the line for that goal? That in mind, tell me why you wear the mark of our guild and if you will come with me on this adventure. There is no shame in saying no, but there isn't any glory in saying no either."

You say you are bored ONE TIME and the guy demands you go on a death defying fieldtrip of doom. Why are children permitted to operate mage guilds?

"Lucky!" the Exceed repeated his introduction, smiling at the girl as they exited the Hall. But before he could do anything else, two hands gripped his face, stretched out his cheeks, and lifted him off of the ground. "An' thish ish Bloo!" the cat spoke, his voice distorted by the fact that he currently didn't have access to all of his facial muscles. Lucky knew it was Blue before he even saw him. It was almost like they'd been through this routine before! A prominent vein in the boy's forehead bulged with annoyance as he continued stretching out the cat's face. "Take my book and call me short, will you..." The young Mage thought aloud as he exacted his revenge on his best friend. It didn't take too long for him to notice the girl standing before him though, and he arched an eyebrow as his attention was temporarily taken off of the Exceed. "Who're you?" the boy asked, obviously unaware the intros had already been made. "That'sh Chryshha!"

Simon's speech interrupted anything further the boy had to say. Blue just stood there clutching Lucky in his hands as he looked at the current Guild Master with a dull expression on his face. It only just barely hid the fact that he was confused as all hell. "What did I walk into?" the vertically-challenged Mage thought to himself as a sweatdrop formed on the back of his head. Simon spoke of some crazy adventure that involved putting your life on the line and other such things. It sounded like Chryssa was in for one hell of a time...

...and apparently, him and Lucky were getting dragged along too. But he didn't know that yet! So that'd make the reveal all the more sweet.

After taking in what the guild master had to say, Chryssa grinned and nodded.
"I am willing to put my life on the line for this goal." she started, being completely serious.
"I wear this mark," she guestured to her guild mark in the middle of her upper back, "Because I joined this guild looking for adventure! Excitement! Friends! Maybe even a home. It represents the pride I have for this guild, the dedication I have for it. And this goal that you speak of, is why I joined Fairy Tail. Which is why I'm going to give it my all and achieve this goal with you and everyone else who joins in on this adventure!" taking a deep breath after her small speech she continued. "So let's get going! I'm ready for this!" Chryssa's grew even bigger as she finished her speech. She felt like there was nothing that could stop her.

Simon scratched his head "Just adventure huh? No one specific treasure or goal in mind? I'd be careful with that approach. For 'the sake of adventure!' is fun and all for while. But this can be dangerous work." The guild master's eyes suddenly became hawk-like staring down Chryssa "If you don't have a specific dream or goal one of two things will happen. You'll face a dangerous adventure, suddenly it is not so fun and you've no other reason to press forward, and just like that your resolve snaps. You go home, your career is over, you've wasted time, effort and resources and you'll begin to ask yourself why you even bothered. It can ruin people. Worse you will keep exploring, keep adventuring, keep seeking new thrills, once that novelty wears off you will want to pursue greater and greater extremes in order to keep the spirit of adventure alive. Then before you know it, you'll run into a danger too great and straight into your grave."

Simon shrugged, turn his back to them and started walking down the road out of town "Adventuring without purpose can destroy you, kill you. But on the other hand adventuring to find that purpose may be just what you need. That in mind can you still follow me?"

We're moving into a full blown adventure thing now. So this is the last chicken exit if you aren't in this for the long haul.

More talking of adventure, more rhetoric about how goals can help you pull through in tough times. Simon was probably right, honestly. It didn't hurt to have something to motivate you to become better and push forward even when things looked bleak. Blue had his own goals. They were part of the reason he'd joined Fairy Tail in the first place. Not that he was really worried about it, because as soon as he got his book back from Lucky he was going right back to stud- "C'mon, Blue! Let's go!~" shouted the Exceed as he pointed towards the horizon and began marching triumphantly towards it.

Another sweatdrop moment occurred as the young Mage stared his friend, hands in his pockets and with a dull expression on his face. "Go where?" He asked, feigning disinterest. This caused Lucky to stop, turn, and wrinkle his nose at his friend. "You heard Simon -- on an adventure! Chryssa here's going too!" The cat already had sort of an idea what Blue was going to say next, so when he did it made him frown even more. "I can't...I gotta-" "What? Read the same dumb book for the millionth time? With Chryssa and Simon helping this is gonna be fun...and now you can see if that reading's doing you any good by testing yourself! " The Exceed was glaring at his best friend now with a fire in his eyes. The prospect of going on an adventure was actually quite appealing to the boy...it was just his clever way of making sure Lucky was in it for the long haul. A small smirk formed on his face as the short Mage turned to face Chryssa. "You heard the cat." And with that? He began walking after their Guild Master. Whatever they were in for...Blue was ready for it.

Watching the guild master walk away, Chryssa hestitated.
"Am I really up for this?" she thought to herself, the mage becoming smaller and smaller as he walked out of view. The girl heard some noise from next to her and saw the short mage with his exceed run after Simon. Was she really up for such a dangerous adventure? Would she even survive it?
"Fuck it, let's go." she said to herself.
"Wait for me guys! I'm coming too!" she yelled, chasig after them with a grin on her face.
