It was a difficult job for someone to hold onto, the role of a politician. Should you go against those who voted you in's wishes then well you might as well be useless, if you personally stamped on them and view them as nothing more than a crutch for your own power gain and amusement, then you were beneath scum regardless of your riches. Such was the man sitting behind a desk, in an extravagant office, taking a puff of a cigar. Born of a farmer, the man instead of hard work, only learned contempt for his fellow man and those who had more, and thus his life goal became gaining the power to rule over those who had previously abused him. A childish sentiment despite the lush Victorian setting in which he surrounded himself, the various paintings all framed and matched, the drapes were of velvet, and the wood all made of treated mahogany. He was living the high life with little to no real responsibility, but in this complacence those beneath him sought fit to try and remove him from office via force.
At first it wasn't a big deal, but then it became a little more problematic, as the numbers rose he found that his natural superiority and intellect was becoming a bit underwhelmed with the attempts on his life though he was too prideful to admit it openly. It was then that a figure had approached him and made him an interesting offer. it was expensive, but with the minor training in magic that the big shot politician had in the past, from his mother forcing him to learn a little bit of it, he got the hang of it. It must have been due to his brilliance, but the assassination attempts by a few small groups were stopped, again all thanks to his genius.
Letting out a puff of smoke into the air the man laughed a bit.
"Tell me pet, why is it that people are beneath me, and should look at me as a god."
"Your impeccable intellect."
"Yes, exactly my intellect is what keeps me in the game and on top of the entire world, come on now my pet enjoy a bit of a chuckle with me and maybe I'll get you something nice. Hahahahaha"
The figure sitting upon one of the nice velvet covered couches turned to look towards their master, their eyes pieces through the dark but covered in the fog of their own disinterest.
"Ha. Ha. Ha."
He was about to open his mouth when his lacrima rang. Picking it up, it sounded as if it was his wife to the figure on the couch, a woman who was most cruel to the staff, and to all who tried to take anything of hers, a back stabber who valued her husband for his money, and almost nothing else. She was the only one that Sharp tolerated in the recesses of her mind, Sharp didn't all of this ego playing that her master did, or the other complaints of the staff, but she did understand strength and cruelty. It was primal and why Sharp tended to listen with more interest to her words than her proper masters. Putting down the lacrima he sighed a bit.
"Pet go report to my wife down in the main meeting lobby, she requests your presence for some god awful reason."
Getting up and heading out of the double doors, Sharp walked silently all the way to entry hall to where the wife was greeting someone, did she need Sharp to show him to a room or something, was he another one of those gentlemen friends she had? Didn't matter she'd just wait at the top of the stairway by the railing till she got an order.
