"Lady Red" is appropriate as well. Gender: Female. Age: 356 Birthday: Her crew celebrated her "birthday" on 12/20, the day she liberated them from a life in the slave trade. Many followed her as captain after that day, most of them having lost their families and homes. Sexuality: Siren is pansexual. Special Characteristics: Pleasure Devil. Siren is a pleasure devil and not a human (And is treated as such for things including demon slaying). She has red skin, horns, tail, fangs, claw-ish nails, and wings. More detail in appearance. This does make her weak to demon slaying and similar influences. These added appendages cannot do more than what a weak weapon or armor might, though they are still part of her body and as such heal and resist damage with her as normal. Mortal mask. Siren's devil body is not always seen. She looks like a normal human unless she reveals herself, she gets revealed by some effect, she is below 50% HP, or if fire makes contact with her. She cannot benefit from any devil appendage if she is hiding her nature. Including wings, but not including the retractable fangs. Hell's Torment. Siren has no pain response. She only feels sensations and pleasure. She does not respond to pain, pain becomes only another sensation after spending decades in hell. This has no effect on damage, only response. Some sensations can still be uncomfortable, such as her hate of feeling cold. Personality: Siren is a strong woman who is easily motivated by the prospect of gains, gains of almost any sort. Monetary gains are the usual norm, but other gains are included as well. Such as status, knowledge, or sometimes just a new experience can motivate her. Siren's primary motivations however are given in the motivations section as they should be. It's a little hassle to write out a 500 word personality without including likes, dislike, motivations and fears. She is in general a fiery soul, she has firm beliefs and a strong code of morales that guide her every action, and she is quick to put an end to anything that threatens her beliefs. She is open to improving her beliefs, but will never abandon them. If it can be proven that something she believes in doesn't work, she is open to change. But once her mind is made up it can be difficult to make her change it. As such she can be extraordinarily stubborn if she believes her idea to be superior, or the opposing idea to be irrelevant... which in the case of most men, usually are in her eyes. She isn't a very good pirate, in that she is very selfless. She tries to pretend otherwise, and make people believe she's out for herself, but Siren would challenge any obstacle that threatens her crew, her ship, or innocent bystanders. She detests slavery specifically, and would wage war on an entire country if it meant putting a stop to it. That said, Siren is open hearted and tends to be very empathetic to the point of having an almost emotional link between her and the people around her, it even extends to animals and objects. It's not the most reliable thing, and Siren doesn't fully understand it, but she just gets a feel for the "mood" of things. Siren knows herself however, and doesn't usually go out of her way to support someone who is feeling down. Not directly, that is. But she takes these things into account and shifts things around without confronting the individual in person. This is especially so on her ship, with her crew. The crew has long since picked up on it, and in knowing that she cares they have experimented and found that Siren can be warm and welcoming when they go to her, but she gives them their space until then. From Siren's side, this is because she has a short temper and if someone is stubborn and refuses her attempts to comfort them, she'd get pissed and ruin it. True story. Her temper is, well, tempered with her crew. She treats them like family, and loathes to get angry at them. Even so, sometimes her temper flares but she tries to reign it in, or loose it in a different direction. But when she is dealing with strangers, especially men, she doesn't care if they see her angry side. Against criminals in particular, Siren's temper is incredibly free. She'd be quick to anger, and in the heat of her hate she'd easily become cruel. Not just any criminal, Siren herself is less-than-legal, petty bread thieves and pick pockets-unless they're trying to pick her pocket- are often more victims than convicts. No, but rapists, kidnappers, murderers... those are the real criminals. Siren can be imposing and a very dominate person, she doesn't take orders well. She's her own person, and she is a leader. No. She doesn't take orders, she takes requests. She takes suggestions. She gives favors. But never can her pride stand that she take an order. She would sooner share a bed with a tentacle beast. Siren doesn't make idle commands, whenever she speaks she expects to be heard, whatever direction she gives, she expects it to be completed. When she assigns duties, she expects them to be fulfilled. She would say she'd never give an order that she wouldn't do herself, but that'd be too easy. Siren tries to understand the people around her, and she assigns tasks to make them better people. Sometimes she'll assign things to push some one, or some people, to be better. To learn. Sometimes she'll assign them as to give them a break, or revert to easy tasks. She does her part to manage her crew respectfully, and in turn demands respect. When Siren fights, she fights with a fierce intensity, and the goal to not carry anything out longer than it needs to be. She aims to stamp her foes into the ground as soon as possible, with her blows aiming to disable or kill her opponents swiftly. Every step she take is worked out subconsciously, letting her mind work behind the scenes to calculate the effectiveness before hand while she is free to act on her feet with the instincts of a great predator. The less opportunity to fight back or even think about turning their attention to anywhere else is more the better. Her moves in combat are strong, confident, ferocious. She fights like the ocean at it's wildest. But with her ferocity she sacrifices no grace, as her movements are precise, fluid, and easy. Each movement carries with it a wickedly deceptive power behind it. Like the hidden current beneath the calm waters, there is more than meets the eye. Likes: Ships, Piloting: It would be silly if this wasn't a like. Siren obviously greatly enjoys being in control of a ship. She loves sailing, both on the seas and in the skies. In her early years she dreamed of flying ships, the ultimate freedom of the skies. Her imagination dwindled over time as she grew more "practical", and took to the seas. The seas were her life for a long time, the open waters giving her some of that freedom. But after a huge turning point in her life, she was pulled aside by a rogue demon and was shown the hidden wonders of life; magic. Now assured in the existence of magic, once she was on her own it was Siren's first goal. To find and take command of a ship. And ever since the day of her success, Siren has been living a childhood fantasy living free as a captain in the sky. Water, Seas: Naturally, the best years of her pre-awakened life were spent on the ocean where she was a fierce pirate, and among the few women to take the life, comparatively, and definitely one of the few to make a name for herself. She always wondered if her name was still remembered to this day, and what people say about her. But Siren abandoned that world long ago. The ocean is still inside her, even more than ever since her teachings under the water demon Calico. Being one with the ocean, it's waters calm or rough are a comfort to her. Even if she usually takes to the skies rather than sail the seas, it's always there within her. Great food: Siren is a big eater, a huge eater. She was always careful to watch her weight in her early years, but ever since she was opened to the world of magic and taught the power of the oceans... well, it's like her stomach is as bottomless as the seas themselves. She'd eat anything, but she has a very keen sense of taste and enjoys excellently prepared dishes. She prefers it even more when her food fights back, such as in the case of spicy or hot foods. She really likes soups and stews, or anything with a broth. Her connection with water allows her to more thoroughly enjoy the flavors of liquids far greater than most could give credit for. This relationship with liquids is readily apparent in her taste for waters. She loves trying water from different locations, her taste and affiliation with the water bringing out a new world of flavors that is truly unique to the areas. All of these things work together to bring about Siren's favorite dish; RAMEN. Ramen combines all of these things into one. It can have the finest of spices, the most exotic of waters, and the rest of the dish isn't as important but it's usually amazing as well with a variety of noodle options and other ingredients ranging from crab to beef. She tends to most enjoy ramen that includes crab, beef, thinner but denser noodles, and of course pure waters extracted from arctic glaciers and with the freshest of spices. _________________________________ Control & Authority: Siren loves feeling in control while at the same time loves gaining control. That is, the challenge of obtaining that control. She can be very patient or very up front in her efforts to gain control of something. With that control she by extension loves authority. Having the lawful right to do something makes it feel sweeter to her to do it, whatever it is. She loves being the one to make that call on what is right or wrong. To have others conform to that new reality of law and order. Subtlety & Display: Siren loves both ends of the spectrum here, she loves subtle tricks, patience, subterfuge. Sabotage. Coercion. The subtler things in life. Some would say sinister or snakeish, but it's just making use and expanding on a basic fundamental aspect of civilization. On the other hand, Siren loves showing off and giving displays of strength and skill, or outright magical might. She likes others to see some of what she is capable of. Inspire respect, awe. Reverence. If that fails, perhaps fear. Terror. Despair. Dislikes: Misogynists: Somewhat hypocritical as she is something of an misandrist. She isn't quite so blatantly a misandrist (Though to be fair, she wouldn't be a misandrist of men weren't so often to one extent or another misogynists), but she does enjoy seeing men experience trauma of the testicular variety. Nutshots ftw, after all. She tends to generalize men as savages, because honestly they usually are. No matter where she goes, men have always treated women like cattle at one point in their history, and she hates it. She likes to see the situation reversed, as if it makes up for it in some minuscule degree. Siren would gladly neuter any extreme misogynists, and against people who actively engage in misogyny... Siren's hate boils over. To the heartless, souless bastards who would kill their children just because they "didn't want a daughter", or those who sell them away to be slaves at the hands of men... Siren has next to no room for mercy, or civil decency. They have none, why should Siren show them any in return? Slavers: Slavers are abominations of humanity. They represent the opposite of what Siren stands for; freedom, security, and the sanctity of life, just to keep it short. What's more, is that Slavers often deal in a more directly offensive trade; in sex slaves. Siren has no qualms with women who want to fulfill fantasies in their pretend lives, though it annoys her a little it simply isn't her business, but the actual selling of women- and to a lesser extent, men- pisses her off to no end. Any man who is held in chains by slavers is free from Siren's slightly sexist outlook, ALL slaves are human, all slaves are forced into terrible roles. ALL deserve freedom. Siren almost hates people who oppress due to racial differences almost as much as differences in gender. Selfish rulers: People who are in positions of authority but abuse it, people who think they're better than others simply because of rank or office. These people disgust Siren, but so long as they don't blend the lines between "Ruler" and "Slaver", or "King" and "Tyrant", then that's all they'll be to Siren- Disgusting. Siren sees positions of authority as positions of service, a leader needs to look out for those who are under her wing. A leader doesn't get served but is there to serve. While this doesn't have to be so literal, heavens knows a leader who is always on all fours is unlikely to be an effective leader, what this means is that the leader needs to consider her charges and treat them as human beings. Just as with respect and trust, it's a two way street. Siren cannot and does not demand respect or trust when she does not give it in return. She finds people who demand respect without giving it quite detestable. _____________________________ Ice & Snow: Siren loathes cold climates. Earthland is cold enough already as it is, shivering when she first returned in the middle of the desert. To throw in winter into the mix, snow. Ice. Siren hates it. Siren is prone to terraforming whole areas if she has to linger for some time, dramatically altering the temperature and landscape in order to avoid the cold rather than endure it for a prolonged period of time. Chaos & Insubordination: Siren hates chaos. Disorder. Senselessness. She hates the broken souls that feel the need to act out with complete disregard of some semblance of logic and structure. However, her sense of order and structure is not something aligned with mortal agendas. More than disorder, Siren hates the insubordinate. Those who constantly question or grate at established command, who disobey an order or think they know best. She can listen to respectful questions and ideas, such is the makings of a future commander if tended to. But those who murmur and complain or turn on their partners or comrades are despicable. Motivations: Pursuit of Perfection: Siren is something of a vain person. She loves material possession, she loves improving herself in all aspects. She is motivated to maintain her appearance, her attire, her wealth, her status, and her possessions. She gladly pursues things that lead to vain gains, but to Siren it's not all just about the material. She values the opinions of others, she values the internal as much as the external and as such she tries to constantly better herself as a person. That said, she just loves shiny things and is always glad to acquire more. Pursuit of Humanity: Siren loves people. She loves family, but Siren's heart is large and her belief in life brings her to accept anyone as family. To her, all life is connected. Not in some metaphysical sense or that everyone is secretly the same person. No. To her everyone is a family. Everyone is human, and to the extreme; everyone is alive. They share the same skies, the same reality. Just like families squabble, people squabble. Wars exist, and will always exist. But that doesn't mean they're not family. What Siren distinguishes is whether or not it's close family, distant family, or estranged family. Her crew is one big close family, while the people she meets and befriends are distant family. The contacts she makes as she goes along with her travels are all as distant members of her family, no different to her than siblings or cousins who live far away. Then the estrange family... those who deny it, or rebel against the family. Those who betray it. Estranged family can get extreme, and family or not she has to put an end to them. Pursuit of Freedom: As has been mentioned, Siren loves people and she hates slavery and tyrants. It is only natural then that Siren does her part to make sure that slaves have a chance, slaves include those who are oppressed under tyrannical rule. Siren does everything she can to free the oppressed when she discovers them. If she is suspicious of slaver activity or tyranny, she sticks around to sniff it out. And when she finds it... it's only a matter of time, maybe even minutes, before she releases them without quarter or debate. Either they free them, or she carves her way through to them. Those who are freed are offered passage on her ship and a place on in her crew. If they don't like it on her crew, she finds a place for them elsewhere if they prefer not to or cannot go back to their families. ____________________________ Pursuit of Power: Siren's goal is to amass strength. Anything she can do to gain advantage or edges is something worthy of time and sacrifice. Her motives are the defense, growth, and status of her layer of hell. To send new souls there to work and add to the population and in doing so she puts herself higher and higher up the social dynamics of hell and by extension, the more powerful her realm the more powerful she herself will be and the more she can do for those under her. Pursuit of Innocence: A minor goal, Siren is always happy to see innocence. She is drawn to the light they have with them, the general spirit they have. It is a novelty to her, and she feels it is something worth keeping safe. At the same time, it is something she has a compulsion to corrupt. She wants to see, to witness, that innocence "bloom" into reality. And she wants to be the one to gently guide that blossom. Siren will viciously guard such a flower. Fears: Captivity: Siren is very open and free, she is restless and always has to be on the move. She hates being restricted or confined, both physically and mentally, and would do all she can to avoid such a fate. Along with captivity is the fear of losing her magic, to do so would be to restrict her capability to act on her own. She'd still be able to, yes. But it's a restriction. She fears losing her body, meaning she fears that she would wake up one day to find her body a cage whether it be due to a death sentence of an ailment, age, or losing control over her weight. To be trapped in her own body is horrifying to her. She would sooner assault a castle and would sooner cause casualties among bystanders than submit to captivity in any form. She would of course think it through before doing anything reckless. Losing Crew: More horrible to Siren than being brought to captivity is the thought of losing her crew. Not because they choose of their own free will to leave, but in death. This fear of losing crew is a huge push to always succeed, to push herself to the limits and fight to the death. Her crew are like her children to her, and a loss of life among them weighs heavily on her heart. But it does not hold her back, it pushes her to be her best so she can be there to defend them when need be. She is very protective of her crew, but she tries not to be stifling. She encourages them to be adventurous, but careful. She keeps them away from the front lines, but they're there manning the cannons are are there for her when she all is through. She teaches them to fight and fight hard, but she would never wish them to be put in a position where they'd have to fight for their lives. Waking Up: Siren's life has been like a dream to her. She grew up believing magic did not exist and was a fairytale. Something for books and stories rather than having a place in the real world. She was on death row, due to be executed when the watery demon Calico saved her to be his student. Some morbid part of her mind pokes at the thought that she was never saved, but that she had died and this is her afterlife, or worse and that she could be woken up at any moment and face her execution, her mind having broken into fantasy at the thought of her demise, unable to defend herself any other way but to retreat into fantasy and escape reality. Pretty morbid fear, but fears aren't always rational. It doesn't effect her too much, but it does make her less keen on sleeping. ____________________________ Losing herself: Siren is concerned that she may yet lose herself to her new devilish life. She worries about just how much she's already changed. Where her moral lines are drawn, how corrupt she may or may not be. She still feels like herself, but what if she is lost someday? Will she even recognize it happening? War for Hell: Siren remains on her guard for threats that may seek to destabilize her realm, her layer of hell. Threats to her command, her authority. Threats to the safety of her population. The politics of hell are harsh and brutal, full of violence and discord. Siren prepares for the day her authority is challenged, by an uppity denizen of her realm or by a foreign power looking to expand their own realm in the most direct way: Conquering another. General Appearance Height: Siren is generally an imposing 6'3", but has a habit of making those around her feel like she's 7'7". Weight: Siren is generally around 180lbs. Tall and curvaceous, she's not exactly light. Hair: Red Head through and through. Eyes: Peachy-brown. Skin Tone: Light Appearance:
Her wardrobe is full of variety however, and she does change or wear different things over her leather suit in order to match different occasions. In most cases what she wears is large and loose, things that easily go over her suit. She enjoys all colors, but has a taste for the simplicity of black and white. She enjoys tactile sensations with her clothes, hence why her favorite is her incredibly soft white fur coat. She loves furs, silks and cottons. She, more often than not, appears battle ready with her weapons at her hips. It's not too incredibly important for her to be armed however, as her body itself is a honed weapon and her magic is fierce on it's own. She keeps her body healthy and in check, though she doesn't need to. Her existence as a Pleasure Devil exerts a control over her body that keeps her skin soft, her hair vibrant, her eyes vivid, and keeps her skin pristine and perfect. Her body never gains or loses weight, remaining at an ideal shape. Coupled with that is a preternatural sensation that pulls at the loins and hearts alike of those who see her, inspiring attraction romantically and in the lewdest variety. This is just a universal attraction, a spike in appeal, that goes beyond basic looks. This body is a front however. Her true body has been corrupted and converted into something a little more, or less depending on your values. Her skin is a soft red color, natural looking in that it isn't too dark, vivid or rich a color. Her horns split emerge from the sides of her forehead, curling forward and inward to curve back over her head a ways before curling off away fro one another facing back and away. A second set of shorter horns sticks out from her forehead between the two longer ones. Short and pointed forwards these ones are the ones you'd want to watch out for in a headbutt. It is comparable to as though she were using a weak weapon which was like spiked brass knuckles, but for her head. A long slender tail emerges from the base of her spine that she can use as freely as an arm, but lacking a hand it can wrap around things and it has a sleek spear-head like shape, though with a slanted base so it won't stay embedded in something it stabs. Using it is like using a really basic knife that would classify as a weak weapon. Similarly, she has long nails (Not too long) that are hard and reinforced, she can use them to cut/rip into things. She has a pair of leathery wings that emerge from her back below and inward from her sides a bit. She can use these to fly at normal speeds she might run at without external aid (such as pushing herself forward on small stone pillars from the ground. But something like a general speed enhancement would apply). They function as any other limb. There are small hooks on the main joint on the wings themselves that allow them to grip into a surface, though generally unnecessary. And lastly, she has a pair of retractable fangs that are wider and shorter than a vampire's fangs. These fangs can deliver bite attacks as though her bite was a free weak weapon. They do not suck blood but allow her to rip into meat easier and she can crunch & digest bone. The fangs are also used as a conduit through which she absorbs life energy harmlessly without breaking skin (Kissing distance), life energy absorption does not effect HP or MP but just generally makes someone feel a bit down, like something is missing, and they'd be more prone to sickness. It replenishes over a week to a month depending on how much was taken. Taking it all requires her to kill them normally first. Taking life force does not benefit her either in any quantifiable mechanic. It's just aesthetics. Guild/Council Guild: Guildless Tattoo: Right wrist, underside. Rank: H |
