Job: The Cosplay Cafe [Riley Nightwalker, Immurtle & Hestia Dragonia]

What if I screw up? What if I do something weird? What if I look weird? Odd thoughts raced through Hestia's mind as she panicked in front of the guild hall. Today was the day she was going to start her first job. It took a lot of courage and...tripping over nothing to convince herself that she was ready. "Okay Hestia, take deep breaths," she told herself. "You've got this... No need to be nervous." Hestia finally stood calmly in front of the guild hall. She was supposed to meet a fellow guild member here so they could go together since she, along with this guild member, are going to do the job together. “Hopefully their a very nice person…” she muttered to herself. For a while she just kind of stood there. After a few minutes she started to get a little worried. Did I hear right when the meeting details were said? She thought to herself Maybe I heard wrong… OH NO!! WHAT IF I DID!! And once again, Hestia started panicking.

Josh woke up in his bed and checked the time, the clock read 8:45am HOLY CRAP I AM SO LATE! he thought to himself as he got up, practically threw his clothes on and raced out the door, not even worrying about breakfast.
Once he arrived at the guild hall he saw a small girl standing outside the front, looking lost and worried. He wondered what was wrong with her, he walked over to her and as he got closer he could see she was wearing the uniform of a shrine maiden. He walked up to the girl and spoke in a soft, soothing voice
“Hey there little girl, are you lost? Do you need some help, did you lose your parents or something? You can come into the guild hall if you want while we wait for them,” Josh said to the little girl as he crouched down so he was talking with her face to face

Hestia stared at the man that crouched down to her. He looked about her age and seemed like he just got out of bed. Heh. He has a bed head. she thought to herself. It looks kind of funny! After a few seconds of staring at him she blushed in embarrassment and turned her head to the side. "I-I'm sorry! It was quite rude of me to stare and-...Um, I-I’m sorry but I think you’re mistaken,” she stuttered. “I’m not a little girl. I’m 15 years old turning 16 in less than a month.” Hestia sighed softly. “I-It’s a good thing you made it. I was beginning to worry that you weren’t g-going to turn up or I went to the wrong place.” She gave him a small smile. ”So.. um… my name is Hestia Dragonia,” she said stretching out her hand somewhat for a handshake. “W-What’s your name?” It’s time to break out of your shell a bit more Hestia she said to herself This is a good start.

Josh was wide eyed when the girl told him who she was
“Oh, you’re Hestia? My name’s Joshua Chapman, but everyone calls me Josh, if memory serves, this is your first job isn’t it? You picked a good job for your first. Easy money working at a café, how hard could it be right?”Josh said to her as he started walking, he turned back towards her and saw she was as still as a statue “Well, are you coming or not?” Josh said walking over to her, grabbing her arm and dragging her to the train station. They waited at the train station in complete silence waiting for the train that’ll take them to Crocus to arrive. Finally after 5 minutes of waiting the train arrived, Josh paid his fare and saw Hestia jump on the train as well. As the train started moving Josh started up the conversation
“So we’ve got a long ride to Crocus, how’re you feeling about your first job?” He asked her as the train started gaining speed.

“Favorite food has to be cheeseburgers, the weathers alright but it’s a little warm for my tastes and yes, I’m looking forward to the job,” Josh replied casually looking out the window.
A few minutes later the train came to a stop at the station in Crocus
Josh stepped off the train and took in a deep breath
ahhhh, Crocus, haven’t been here before, wonder what the city is like? I’ll have time to explore later, gotta get to that café first Josh thought to himself as he turned around to make sure Hestia was still with him
He took the job request out of his pocket and read over it
“According to this map, the café’s just a few blocks away from here, let’s get moving,” Josh said putting the request back in his pocket, walking towards the café.
Once they had arrived in front of the café, he knocked on the door and entered
“Is anybody here?” Josh called out to the empty café
“I’m sorry, but the café isn’t opened yet,” a woman’s voice echoed out from the back, a few moments later the source of the voice was revealed. A woman came out of the back door and greeted Josh and Hestia
Josh held up his fist and showed the lady his guild mark
“We’re wizards from Suripingu Mori, you said you needed help in the café?” Josh said taking the flyer out of his pocket
“Ah yes, the other wizard has already arrived, she’s in the ladies change rooms,”The lady spoke in a soft voice
“The ladies change rooms are down the hall to your left, the male change rooms are to the right, you’ll both find your costumes in there,” She said going back into the kitchen
“Other wizard? I wasn’t aware someone else had taken this job, oh well, Hestia go get changed into your costume, be ready to work hard, it looks like we’ll be working during the lunch rush,” Josh said walking towards the male change rooms

Spoiler:

Once Josh entered the change room he saw a simple black suit with a white undershirt, a red tie and white gloves
He picked up the suit and examined it
“Wow, that is a really nice suit,” He said to himself as he took off his shirt and slipped on the white undershirt, he put the tie on. After all that was on he pulled the black jacket on and left it unbuttoned. After all that was done he took a look in the mirror to see what he looked like
“Damn, I look pretty good in this suit, maybe I should wear suits more often,” he said to himself as he exited the change room, as he walked down the hall he could hear Hestia and Grace’s voice, he could also hear something barking and another familiar voice
“Wait a second, I know that voice, isn’t that?” he said to himself as he walked down the rest of the hall. Once he turned into the main area of the building, his suspicions were confirmed
“Holy hell, Riley?! I thought that was your voice I heard and Theo, I haven’t seen you guys in a while!” Josh said happy to see Riley and Theo again.

Grace flipped the sign and the café flooded with people
A family of 3 came into the café
Josh turned to Grace, "I’ll take these people,"
Josh walked up to the family and greeted them in his best posh sounding voice
“Good afternoon, gentlemen and gentlewoman, may I interest you in a table of 3?” He asked the family and led them to his table.
As he set down the menu’s the little boy was running around the restaurant, the mother got up to get him but Josh stopped her
“Please madam, you and the good sir please relax, I will go and fetch the little tyke,” Josh said as the woman sat back down, Josh walked over to the little boy
“Excuse me sir, but I believe your mother and father are waiting for you back at your table, shall I escort you back?”Josh asked as the boy tried running through his legs
Josh’s reflexes were too fast, he bent down and grabbed the boy as he was about to run through his legs
“Now sir, would you like to have a glass of juice while you wait for your food?” he asked the boy as he sat him back down. The boy nodded
“Right away sir. Shall I take your orders when I come back?” Josh replied
“Yes thank you, that would be nice,” the woman nodded and smiled
“Of course madam, if there’s any other way I could assist you, please do not hesitate to ask,” Josh replied walking back to the kitchen
