Job Location: Earthland (Minstrel), LeBuque Town
Job Description: 'Musketeers' that's what wizards are called in Minstrel. Charged with keeping the peace in the entire nation, the Musketeers are an ancient organization that accept only wizards into their Ranks. Unlike Fiore; they do not have an organization charged with keeping their Musketeers in check; rather, the Musketeers, protect the civilians of Minstrel and are the official lawkeepers of the nation.
However, there is trouble afoot in the elegant town of Lebuque. It seems; some Dark Wizards from Fiore have managed to break into the house of one of the most famous nobles in all of Minstrel. Sir Townsend. They have taken him, and his entire family hostage; and have laid demands of 1 million jewels down or it will mean their death.
The Musketeers are all to familiar with Dark Wizards, but felt it was best to contact the Guilds of Fiore for help against their own natives.
Your mission is simple; infiltrate the Mansion and free the Townsend family from the grasp of the Dark Wizards from Fiore.
The Musketeers have assigned three of their very finest Musketeers to make sure it goes smoothly.
Their names are Atha, Atma, and Portha. Blonde, Red-Head, and Brunette; respectively. These girls are REAL lookers; but don't let that fool you. All of them are extremely skilled wizards, fem fatales; and use both Gun Magic and Sword Magic at levels that far exceed this Jobs requirements.
However, they are personal friends of Sir Townsend and his family; and will stop at nothing to help you free him.
Meet up with the Three Musketeers at the location that the Musketeers organization has told you they'll be waiting for you.
Enemies:
Weak: Wind-Make Wizard x2 - Goes down in one hit of C-Ranked damage, or two hits of D-Ranked damage. Will target Lightning, Water, and Projectile Users first.
Normal: Earth-Make Wizard x2 - Goes down in two hits of C-Ranked damage, or four hits of D-Ranked damage. Will target Water and Wind type opponents first.
Strong: Summoner Wizard x2 - Goes down in four hits of C-Ranked damage. Or eight hits of D-Ranked damage. Will target Darkness or Light type opponents first.
Boss: Teleportation Wizard - Goes down in 10 hits of C-Ranked damage. Or twenty hits of D-Ranked damage. Will avoid anything less than a C-Ranked attack with an instant teleport without even trying. Will teleport behind you and attempt to use melee (hands and feet) strikes in combination with his teleportaton magics. Also may grab an item and warp it above your head to fall on you; or other tricky surprises.
Reward: A Green "Musketeer" outfit to wear when you're in Minstrel, showing that you are always welcome in Minstrel and are considered an official wizard there, just like you are in Fiore. 15k Jewels. Equivalent EXP of THREE Jobs of your Rank. May only complete this Job once.

Ni-Ju watched from above as the picturesque buildings of LeBuque passed beneath Sim's mighty wings, each one as if it were a single lantern in the night. Spotting the hill on which their destination,Townsend Mansion sat, Ni-Ju gave a serious of light tugs to the reigns to signal Sim to land at the base of the hill and quickly checked the ropes he had tied to Sim's harness to ensure an easy dismount. Finding everything ship shape and ready to go, Ni-Ju waited until Sim had fully touched down before handing Linx a secondary rope wordlessly and shimmying his way to the ground. Even from the bottom of the hill it was easy to see that something important was going on above. A string of wagons were making their way up the single access road over the hill while men in the green outfits of musketeers stood at the base and prevented anyone else from entering or leaving the grounds. The arrival of the two Lamia Scale mages changed that quickly as the guards began milling around Sim with their weapons at the ready. The guards at the base of the hill closed ranks around Ni-Ju and Xavier all yelling for the two young men to identify themselves. Pulling down his right sleeve slowly to avoid anyone thinking he was attempting something dangerous, Ni-Ju bared his guild mark for inspection. Several minutes of discussion amongst themselves resulted in the guards sending one of their men up the hill to get whoever had the misfortune to have been placed in charge of this whole fiasco. Unable to do anything more for the moment the mages waited to see what would happen.

Dismounting from Ni-Ju glorious Pegasus-like creature and just felt terrible. His entire body was stiff from the travel, and he was fortunate they didn’t ride on a vehicle on the way here or else he wouldn’t gotten terribly sick. He still didn’t entirely understand why that happened to him. As he got to the ground his stomach growled rather loudly and some of the guards turned to look at the poor kid who held his gut and told his stomach promptly to shut up, not feeling much better than it. The men who previously cared turned away awkwardly.
Xavier didn’t bother moving to show off his tattoo, it was perfectly in display on the back of his neck, and that he accompanied Ni-Ju was more than enough. “This is rather odd, but I suppose it’s to be expected? They don’t operate the same way many other cities do, but regardless shouldn’t they be more concerned with the situation at the mansion?” He said all of this rather close to Ni-Ju not really trying to tip anyone off, but it just didn’t seem to add up. If they intended on investigating this to the fullest they didn’t have time to wait around and act idly while they waited for some bigshot to come and authorize them to walk past the guardsmen, but he supposed whatever got them to sleep easier at night. Speaking of a bigshot, he was making his way over them and just came into view of the two mages as he was getting a rundown of “the situation” from one of his underlings before he showed them off. Similar to the other men, his clothing seemed to be covered in plate armor at every joint. He had a chest plate, shoulder plates, greaves and boots, the whole works. “I know who you two are.” He said looking down upon them. He was practically a giant. “This way.” He said gesturing the other direction as he turned around to lead them.

The behemoth in armor escorted the two young mages up the hill and past several more throngs of guards, explaining the situation as they walked. "I really must apologize for the suspicion on the part of my underlings but things around here have gotten just a bit hectic in the last few hours. It seems the fellows who are perpetrating this whole thing against the Townsends have quite a bit more help then we had originally thought." With an audible sigh of weariness the man continued. "There are at least a dozen men inside the main house holding hostages in three separate areas. To top this whole bloody mess off we have discovered not one but Two different groups of individuals trying to sneak their way up the hill to establish an escape for the men within. That is the reason for all of the increased security." He said, gesturing to yet another guard post as they neared the top of the hill. "This whole mess would have been dealt with mere minutes after starting if it weren't for all the politics involved in taking down these foreign mages but then again I guess thats where you fellas come in.".
Reaching the summit of the hill, the Lamia Scale wizards were led past a series of defensive cross bracings similar to what one would find on a battlefield and toward a small command tent. Pulling aside the flap and ushering them inside, the behemoth closed it behind them and took up the stance commonly know to soldiers as "attention" in front of the three women that dominated the tent with their very presence. "These are the guild wizards that were requested ma'ms. Operations can begin as soon as these two are readied".

Xavier ate up every word the man said, picturing the situation in his head. There we countless musketeers, but they had abandoned the idea of fighting the mages. So it was still just Xavier and Ni-Ju and he didn’t think Sim would do any fighting at all either. So two Lamia Scale mages versus approximately twelve men in a hostage situation. It sounded somewhat challenging on paper, juggling a battle and safety of innocent lives, but Xavier had some certainty that they could manage a situation like this. They’ve…. They have been in worse situations albeit with help, but they have been in worse situations
They stepped through the… would you call it a doorway? In this combat tent were even more people that held the reigns of this operation and he was starting to see why people might possibly get lost in the chain of command here. “I’m glad you brought them here, we’ve prolonged the solution to this for too long.” She said as she turned around to face them from discussing with her two compatriots. She was about to say something when she noticed that the two mages they managed to bring in were both children, one of which was considerably small. She glared at the for a moment before clearing her throat to continue. “I suppose that Sargent Mayher has already brought you two up to speed, so considering the information you have and you’re…” She looked them up and down once or twice before continuing that sentence. “…expertise… in these situations. Is there anything you’ll need before we move in that you can think of right now? Once we’re on location, there won’t be any reinforcements.”

Ni-Ju immediately recognized the falter in the woman's speech for what it was. Distrust. Distrust flavored with a good bit of condescension actually. He had seen the type before. Well bred, sophisticated, and completely unmoved upon their opinion til someone thrust irrefutable evidence directly under their nose. And in her opinion both of the Lamia Scale mages were no more then children, well trained children perhaps but children nonetheless. Unwilling to show how much this irked him, Ni-Ju replied to her question in a crisp, businesslike fashion. "We are already prepared M'am, Just show us the way.". Wasting little time the woman gave the nod to two of her fellow musketeers, who stood bearing lanterns. "I wish both of you young men the best of luck in your endeavors cause heaven knows you will need it." With those parting words both young men were led out of the tent and back though the torch lit camp by her lantern bearing cohorts.
After a short walk the mages were led to a small but well built gardeners shed and quickly ushered inside. With the door once again soundly shut behind them, one of the musketeers kneeled down on the floor near the corner of the shed and began wiping away years of accumulated dust and debris, revealing a dilapidated wooden trapdoor that had clearly not been in use for quite some time. "This is where we will wait for you gentlemen should you or any of the hostages attempt this passage once again to escape the building. The tunnel leads to an older section of the Lord's wine cellar according to the building plans we had brought up when this whole mess began but in all honesty we have yet to send a man down to check out the state of the place." Finished with her explanation, the young woman extended her lantern toward Ni-Ju. "Good luck.".

Already feeling as if he regretted his decision to help out the city of Minstrel simply based on the treatment they were receiving from these reputable officials for the due of the mages' assistance in such troublesome and hard situations such as these. A little respect can go a long way, but he felt odd that he might ever have to explain that to somebody of such entitlement. For now he held his tongue, but he wouldn't forget too quickly. As they were lead into this gardener's shed and were told this would be their only access to and from the mansion. Xavier took the initiative, and took the lantern in place of Ni-Ju, and descended the ladder himself. “C'mon bud, let's get this over with quickly. I'm starting to regret this and I don't want to.” He waited for a few moments for his teammate to make his way down after him, and lead the way through the tunnel with the lantern held high above their heads.
It was about a minute or so of walking before they reached the end of the tunnel, and came across the second trapdoor on the other side, haphazardly throwing it open, and billowing dust on either side. He jumped up to next floor into the darkness of the until room, but even without light he could make out the rows of wine barrels stored within. “We need to get the hostages out of here in a very timely manner, so I suggest we split up, so we cover more ground and don't slow each other down. What do you think?”

Ni-Ju climbed out of the passage behind Xavier, regaining his feet and brushing the dust from his clothing just as his partner tossed a proposition to split up and search separately his way. Thinking it over, Ni-Ju decided Xavier's idea seemed sound enough given the speedy time frame necessary for the job and nodded his head in assent. "You can go right when we leave the door and I will take the left if you don't mind."As Xavier seemed satisfied enough with the arrangement they preceded to the hall door and opened it slowly, revealing an empty unlit corridor somewhere near the kitchens if the smell was any indicator. "Best of luck in your endeavors my friend." Ni-Ju whispered quietly to Xavier, before quietly slipping out the door and down his chosen pathway.
The first corner Ni-Ju turned revealed a series of doors which upon closer inspection were revealed to be nothing more then closets. As Ni-Ju neared the end of the hall he found a small set of servants stairs leading upward into the house and began climbing them slowly, so as to avoid the loud creaking noises that were sure to follow otherwise. Awfully funny how the main stairs in a house this posh never seemed to make a noise but every set of servants stairs creaked like a dying ship in the middle of a storm. Still shaking his head at the stupidity of some people, Ni-Ju reached the top of the stairs. A bright light shone from beneath the bottom of the doorway and voices could be heard from the other side.

Xavier peaked his head around the corner when he felt the wind whip him as Ni-Ju darted out to the left. He was lucky that the path was clear. Once Xavier refocused, the hall was dark and soundless, his teammate out of earshot. He proceeded ahead with considerable caution. The hallway seemed to go on forever as he trekked, but he noticed to the right of him was a spiral staircase leading into the unknown. The former being much more interesting and full of intrigue, Xavier started up them without as much as a second thought. Before he could take the final few steps, his keen sense picked up a few things, firstly a smell. “Weird, it’s a different scent than I know, but it has a familiar accent… It reminds me of Master Zuo- Crap! Earth mages!” He concluded under his breath. He could hear something too… footsteps, and some chatter. He managed to catch snippets of information from their discussion. The noble himself Sir Townsend was being kept in the master bedroom, separately from his family, but he still had no clue as to where they were. The footsteps faded into the distance as they moved away from him. He completed his ascent trying desperately not to make a sound, but luck was on his side for thankfully no a soul remained in the area. “If I had to guess, the master bedroom is probably on this floor, and it’ll be the most flamboyant looking from pure assumption. I should probably follow those men, they might be heading towards him.” And without hesitation he followed the direction of the voices to the best of his ability.

Ni-Ju crept closer to the door and carefully placed his ear against the aging oak. From the diminishing noise on the other side he could just barely make out the sound of at least two pairs of booted feet continuing down the corridor. Slipping out the into the passage as noiselessly as possible behind them, Ni-Ju began to shadow the two patrolling mages in an effort to find the hostages. After about five minutes of stalking and observation Ni-Ju felt rewarded as the two mages stopped outside a fairly plain looking door and began unlocking it with a large set of keys posesed by the smaller of the two. Once the door was shut behind them, Ni-Ju covered the distance between them a bit quicker and took up a position outside the door. Just as he got into place, the sounds of a young woman whimpering echoed out from beneath the crack of the door followed by the throaty laughter of the two men who had just entered the room.
Reaching into the pack behind him, Ni-Ju drew forth his half serrated trappers knife and checked the edge. He would only get one chance at this and with these peoples lives at stake room for error was practically nonexistent. Opening the door with a silence that would have had his master exclaiming in delight, Ni-Ju then peered inside. The room was revealed to be a simple affair, most likely used by one of the members of the staff if he was judging things correctly. The source of the whimpering, a young maid in her early twenties, lay tied to the bed with both of the men standing over her discussing which of the two would go first in violating the defenseless woman. The thought of such terrible human beings existing in the same space as an innocent very nearly drove Ni-Ju to rage and spurred him forward to action without bothering to plan as he usually would have done. Throwing his knife at the back of the head of the bigger mage with his first step into the room, Ni-Ju quickly followed up by rushing across the room and tackling the second mage from behind.

Tailing the men very carefully, Xavier ducked tot he cover of a corer the men had just rounded. They seemed awfully discrete about this work similar to Xavier in his silence, except for the occasional audible breathing. He watched carefully as they broke into the room not concerned about the possibiliy that someone may have been lurking about or atleast appearing to not know. With renewed furvor, Xavier crouched low and rushed to the door, and tried to peek around the room before suddenly the door slammed shut behind him. One of the men was behind him, and slammed into him to try and knock him down, and he staggered trying to keep his balance. When he finally could properly stand, the second man grabbed him from behind and lifted him from the ground with ease. He fought to get free, and the man fought back turning and beating on him as they went, and during this process Xavier got a sweeping glance at the room to when he discovered that there were no hostages in here, and he was led into an elaborate trap. The man holding him suddenly got a greater grip and restrained him well, as he turned him to face his partner, and Xavier was slugged in the face a number of times silently being beaten in the building. Having enough of this, Xavier's body pulsed with electricity as he writhed for control in the fight. Shocked, but not too badly wounded, the man lost his grip on Xavier, and as his arms cam unfolded, he kicked off the man's chest head-butting his partner in the gut. He landed in a three point position, two feet and one hand on the ground as the man who suffered the brunt of the attack fell against the door. He wasn't going down that easily.

A dull "Thud" noise similer to the sound of a ripe melon hitting the pavement was the only sign Ni-Ju recieved that his knife had found its mark as the young mage barrelled into the legs of the second of the villanous men, cutting out the legs from under him with a viscous judo throw that was normally reserved for taking out in opponent in the more permanent sense. Hitting the ground in a tangle of flying limbs, Ni-Ju followed up on his attack in the most ruthless and effective way open to him given the akward position he had placed himself in and began rabbit punching his opponent in the throat, giving no mind to such things as fair play or rules of engagement. Regaining his feet unsteadily while his partner struggled to remain breathing under the barrage of blows that threatened to silence him forever, the larger of the two mages drew a hefty looking cutlass from the baldic at his side and took a swipe at the young Lamia Scale mage's head. Or at least where his head would have been if Ni-Ju hadn't noticed the flicker of movement out of the corner of his eye and rolled out of the way in time to save himself. Coming out of the roll with the larger man standing practically on top of him, face set in a mask of sheer stupidity that would have been priceless had the situation been a little less grim, Ni-Ju unleashed a flurry of the outright dirtiest fighting tricks that his master had ever taught him. Blow after rude blow took the man to the groin, dropping him to his knees and bringing him in just close enough that Ni-Ju could administer a powerful elbow strike to his temple. As the man crumpled to the ground unconscious, Ni-Ju got to his feet and delivered a swift kick to the side of both men's heads just to be sure before making his way over to the bed to see to the near hysteric maid.

Xavier thought through his situation for a moment. Ambushed, outnumbered, and surrounded. One man behind and one in front, both mages of an element that made his effectively useless. He still had a number of options, and as long as these two didn’t get a chance to use their magic everything would fall according to plan. They were confined to a rather tight space, but there’s still enough clearance for his staff luckily. It was a perfect opportunity. Unveiling the ancient wooden bo staff, he twirled it around impressively, as if practicing a martial dance to intimidate them, but it was unclear where the dance ended and the attack began until the man in front of Xavier was struck in the face, the side, and was swept by the legs while the other man was caught in the gut trying to advance on Xavier. “Perfect, I have them right where I want them.” They only grew furious with him, and turned to use their magic on him instead of facing him head on, both trying to keep their distance. He had to choose one to focus on quickly. He went the one straight ahead of him striking him across the face, kicking him in the shin and watching as he staggered back before pole vaulting into a drop kick. He flew against the wall behind him, and it cracked slightly making a sound that traveled through the walls. Hopefully no one heard that. Suddenly chains whipped from out of the blue, and locked in place on Xavier’s wrists. The man behind him held the chains, and pulled Xavier to the ground. On his hands and knees, Xavier tossed a Lightning Bomb at his assailant that exploded, kicking up the dust that laid dormant in the room and shrouded the area in a smog, but he could clearly see the body of the man on the ground as the chains were reduced to dirt.

Retrieving his knife from the ground to cut the rough cords that the maid had been bound with, Ni-Ju saw as the smaller of the two men began moving once again so he planted another kick upside the unlucky fellow's head. Like being struck by lightning, an idea suddenly came to him, maybe he could interrogate one of these two and possibly find out some valuable information on exactly where the other captives were being held. If he did then he would have to be incredibly careful as both of these men were mages as far as he could tell and they fairly reeked of elementalism. Putting aside the thought for after he had actually freed the maid, Ni-Ju made his way back over to the bed and began sawing away at the bed sheets that had been used to roughly bind her in place. When once again free, the young woman latched onto him like a leech and began bawling her eyes out. These were the kind of situations that tended to make him more then a bit uncomfortable so he just did the best he could. Ni-Ju gently patted the young woman's back and make soothing noises until she came to her senses and attempted a half hearted swipe at the snot that was coming from her nose. Wanting to be gentle considering the situation but short on time, Ni-Ju decided to be as forthright as possible and just came out and asked her. "Do you have any idea where either Sir Townsend or any of the other hostages are being kept?"

It wasn’t ever going to be easy, so Xavier was baffled by his ability to be taken by surprise so easily in only a matter of seconds. Closing the door behind him to the room with the two unconscious men, as a cloud of dust rolled out from the door, he put his back up against it and caught his breath for a moment. Still plenty to be done, and not a moment to spare, any given time Sir Townsend could be harmed and, well, they’re essentially being paid to prevent that. Xavier placed his hand on the doorknob, locking it and arc-welding it shut, able to relax knowing they might be stuck in there a considerable amount of time. He knew for a fact however that they were definitely keeping this noble somewhere upstairs and probably in his own room, unless of course that was a lie. He didn’t really have much of a choice, it was the only lead he had to go on. Sleuthing to the best of his imagination, he looked carefully for this masterfully framed door he was given the notion of finding, something that looked better than the last one at the very least. He conspired with himself as he willfully searched, telling himself he wouldn’t be caught so off guard once again. He was surprised to find that there was in fact another, much more representative and iconic door than the previous. He whispered under his breath “Lightning Dragon’s Claws…” as he slowly eased the door open.

The overly frightened maid seemed to be able to do little more then shake her head in the negative when asked about the whereabouts of the other hostages, causing Ni-Ju more then a little mental anguish. It seemed as if luck was was souring by the moment. Ni-Ju reached out to help the poor woman to her feet and was less then surprised when she shied away from his touch. Much as he would have liked to let her have the time to sort herself out, He knew that time was of the essence so he decided on the expedient path instead, even if he would feel bad about it later. Distracting the woman by suddenly pointing toward the door as if someone was coming, Ni-Ju very carefully brought the bottom knuckle of his free hand down upon the small spot behind her ear and was rewarded with a small gasp as she crumpled back onto the bed. "Really sorry for that miss, but I can't have you screaming your head off if everyone is going to get out of here unharmed." Picking the woman up in a heavy carry taught to all Judoka, Ni-Ju quite carefully nudged the door open, taking care not to accident hit her on the door frame, and slipped back into the hall. Retracing his steps quickly brought the young mage back to the wine cellar where he and Xavier had made their entrance and where he chose to deposit the young maid amidst a pile of worn burlap sacks, trusting that if she woke before he got back fear would keep her from going back into the house proper. Free of his momentary burden, Ni-Ju returned the way he had come and began to search for the captives once more.

Just behind the door, a man turned to face Xavier and receive the first blow from his lightning claws, as they raked across his chest, not fast enough to keep him away from the door. He fell back, staggering into another man in the room before regaining his footing. The man behind him threw his friend to the ground, not looking to hold him as he whimpered in pain. Rushing forward to meet the second man at his little fist fighting game, the second mage took an odd pose and made some quick hand gestures that Xavier recognized to obviously be some sort of magic. It was different from the people’s magic he fought previously however. A gust of wind lifted Xavier off of his feet, and carried him to the ceiling before dropping him like a bag of potatoes. He writhed in pain for a moment on the ground, as the man walked towards him, which was just what Xavier was waiting for. He jumped to the man’s side, swiping at his leg as he passed, tripping him. The man whom was tossed into the wall earlier was finally back on his feet, and came after Xavier with a fist raised up in the air, about to come down on his head, since he was lower to the ground. Xavier popped up almost ninja like, and bicycle kicked him, running up him like a wall, and elbow dropping on the man he was previously engaging. The man he was on top of didn’t seem like he was going to get back up, so he left him there to catch his breath. He got up and punch the other man in the stomach just to wind him, and turned to see that for once his work paid off. The nobleman was definitely there tied up and gagged, or at least someone who wore clothes fitting of the title.
