Sometime ago, Enola had volunteered to help raise money for injured Rune Knight veterans. After that, she had been recommended to help a Rune Knight acting as the warden of a prison capture an escaped convicted. Somehow, once more, she had been recommended to another Rune Knight who apparently needed assistance with training his new recruits. After all this, one should keep in mind that Enola was terribly afraid of Rune Knights. The prospect of being near anyone who could hall her guilty butt to jail was an idea that did not agree with her rational. She always got the impression that Rune Knights were going to nab her if they just looked at her a little too long and recognized her for who she once was rather than for who she had become. While she may have been around Rune Knights more than usual lately, Enola was still somewhat skeptical about being around any for too long.
Enola did not know the first thing about training military men and women. She did not know how to properly wield a sword, what the proper way to carry an injured person was, or how to tackle obstacle courses. What she did know, however, was how to cast magic, and she was fortunate enough that the task at hand only required the Rune Knights to learn the basic of magic. She felt confident enough that she could teach group of disciplined men and women how to learn the ins and outs of magic; after all, she had one of the greatest teachers herself: Ms. Kieva, a former teacher at one of the most prestigious schools of magic in Hargeon Town. Sadly, Enola lacked Ms. Kieva’s knack for tough love teaching, but she felt she could make up for it with her own general sweetness-type teaching.
The maid set off that morning for Era via the train network, her usual choice of transportation. Unfortunately, Enola had to bring her man-hungry cousin, Anguis Pisa. The lamia had a “loving” appetite for men in Rune Knight uniform that had gotten her in trouble one more than one occasion. The maid tried her hardest keep Anguis at Shohei’s manor, but she was adamant about coming along. She seemed to be of the mindset that the Rune Knight boot camp would be like a meat market where she could pick up men as if she were shopping for groceries and grabbing everything she wanted off a convenient shelf. Enola grimaced at what length the lamia would go to embarrass her as she stood in a position of authority for once; more likely than not, that authority position was going to be ruined by the scandalous Lamia who seemed to never have anything better to do than flirt.
The two arrived at Era at around noon and quickly navigated their way to the boot camp where the Rune Knight recruits were waiting for them. One of the more senior Rune Knights explained where they were at and what needed to be done in terms of their progress with learning magic. The task set before Enola seemed a tad troubling and very tedious, but the maid remained confident that she could teach the recruits something, the basics at least. Anguis, as expected, just ogled them but did manage to keep her good behavior to some extent. The lamia even helped hand out study sheets to help the men and women get rundown of things, including how to channel their magic power into certain body parts for special effects and such. It seemed as if it would be an easy matter after all.
Within the span of a couple hours, Enola had shown each individual Rune Knight the basics of magic. They were able to competently weaves magic power between their fingers. Of course, they all had to practice before they could ever move onto something more advanced, such elemental magic or less tangible sorts of magic, but that responsibility rested on the next mentor. The older Rune Knight who had called the maid their supplied her with her Jewels and she was off. On the way back, she was certain to pick up something nice for Anguis since she managed to restrain her desires and urges. Sadly, Enola would later find out that she had coerced many of the recruits into giving up their contact information, including addresses of where they lived. The maid dreaded to think that a Rune Knight would soon be joining the already dysfunctional family…
