Personality: Let’s say there was a guy. This guy always knew what he was supposed to do and who he was supposed to be. He was in a small village who had decided for him who he was to be. His destiny was the will of the village. What choice did he have? Why would he choose anything else? It was what the village had done to his father and his father never complained. Even when the village took his dad’s life and then asked him to give his life for the same village. It never occurred to him he had a choice. He was always told what he had to do and even in the face of his old man’s death he was told that was truly a reason to continue on the path he was given. His life was the protection of the village. It was his very foundation. To an outsider it may have seemed wrong or forced, but that was all he ever knew. To him it made sense.

This was how he grew up. He was normal enough. Just an honest man working to do the only thing he knew how. As per the nature of his work he had always appeared to be a scary man. He was big, strong and trained for battle. Naturally it reflected on his appearance. He was truly just a simple man but the village didn’t see him as such. He was just a weapon to them. His allies who were like him understood him but the number was small. Did he feel some resentment for being misunderstood? Maybe. But it was of little consequence to him. He was born a weapon, raised a weapon, used a weapon, treated as a weapon. He was a weapon in his eyes and in the eyes of the many so he didn’t see why he shouldn’t be treated as such. Really his few friends who treated him as a person seemed more odd than anything else.

He had been happy defending the village. He felt he was fulfilling his purpose. It was a purpose he shared with others. He had friends who he valued and fought along side with. They were like him and because he had strange people like him it was possible for him to believe even in his strange circumstances that he was normal. Maybe he was being used, maybe he was but a tool being abused for the good of others but he never realized it or cared. He was content. But things changed. Something he couldn’t stop came his way. Except it was something he could stop, but he failed to. It was within his abilities but he still failed. His friends payed the price. While the failure survived by his own fallacy the real heroes died trying to fix it. But it was beyond even them. So the failure watched as his actions tore apart the very fundamental basis of his existence. The village was ravaged and he struggled in vain. It was enough to drive a man mad. So the man did something that contradicted every fiber of his being.

He lost all faith in who he was. He became uncertainty. Everything he had known for sure became doubt. He became a hollow shell. He was a weapon discarded by his master. He was useless, dangerous and he had no one. Not even himself.
