Post by Hakumi Nazu 7th July 2015, 2:03 am

Hakumi had just recently returned from a different job, and Hakumi was more fired up than ever! The strength she got from her last job made her think that she could conquer the world! Hakumi browsed the job board for another Job to take. She didn't want anything too difficult, but she wanted something that would still challenge her a bit. As she was reading the description of several jobs, she found one that really caught her eye. She was to find a lost puppy, but make sure that it was brought home safely. To her, it seemed easy enough, but she wanted to bring her fellow Leviathan, Enola! They worked so hard on their last job together, and they accomplished a lot. Being with Enola made her feel insanely safe. Enola was a cherished friend, and Hakumi wouldn't trade her for anything in the world! Not even one million jewels! And Hakumi loved money.

Hakumi had never heard of vulcans before, so the job would also be a nice learning experience for Hakumi. Hakumi was a pretty intellectual individual, she loved to learn, and there weren't too many things that she didn't know about. In her free time, she can be seen reading a lot of books, or doing something to improve her knowledge on everything one the planet called Earth. She didn't get to read too much when she was younger, so she decided to take the opportunity to read and take in all the information that she could, and frankly, she enjoyed it. She couldn't see why some people would protest against reading.

Enola was a tad exhausted from the last job. Certainly, Hakumi and herself had beaten some might tough opponents during that job and there was more than enough cause for celebration, but that did not make the beatings they received any less painful. Enola had her head chopped off, she was nearly molested by Roland, nearly stomped to death by Nancy (who did drugs in the form of lacrima milk apparently), and she also killed someone. That last part was what had made the last job so special. Never before had Enola taken someone’s life; one could say that the event had spooked Enola into submission from her usually happy self. Unlike most with some form of power, Enola did not like the idea of taking anyone’s life; in fact, she felt outright ashamed of herself for doing what she had done, even if it was just an honest accident.

Still, that morning, the maid found it difficult to turn down Hakumi as she needed help with a brand new job: finding a puppy! Enola could quite complain about a task as simple and lovely as that, even if vulcans were bound to appear as the job description had warned them. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time the dust mage had fought off vulcans. Several months earlier, she had braved the Spooky Forest and defeated an entire pack of the white beasts. Hopefully, she would be just as successful with Hakumi at her side, if not more successful than last time.

Hakumi had yet to come down from the high of their previous job. She felt that with the two of tehm together, nothing was impossible. She felt that they could pass any obstacle, pass any boundary, or climb any mountain as long as they had each other. The Leviathans were a truly remarkable team. They had character, and they had power, the perfect combo. They lived up to the Lamia Scale standards, and they could be called remarkable mages. In fact, they didn't need to be called remarkable mages, because they were remarkable mages (mostly because Hakumi on the team! c:)

Hakumi trotted happily to Enola's home. She knocked on the door a few times before speaking. "Are you ready to go Enola?" She said happily. "We'll do just as good on this job, if not better, than we did on the last one! I can feel it!" She grinned, waiting for Enola's response. She was certain that Enola hadn't fallen asleep yet, as it was the evening, and the evening was not a proper time for waking, and from what Hakumi had analyzed, Enola was a woman of only the most proper etiquette, and she would not accept doing thing improperly. That made it kind of shocking that Enola had decided become a mage. It was a messy life. Things got out of hand a lot, and things were not always how they were supposed to be. Hakumi supposed that it was just another demonstration of how strong Enola is.

Enola smiled to see Hakumi at her door, no doubt there to pick her up for the job they had arranged to do together. The water mage seemed more than excited to go on the job together, even more enthusiastic than Enola usually was; that was truly a rare feat.

The maid chuckled, “Of course! Let us take the train!”

With that, Hakumi and her dusty side kick were heading off to the train station. On the way there though, Enola couldn’t but to throw some idle chit-chat toward her friend’s way; after all, they were the kind of friends who probably should have had BFF necklaces (which was exactly what the maid probably would have bought the next time she entered a jewelry store).

“May I ask how you’ve been, Ms. Nazu? You’ve seemed awfully happy since that last job.”

Enola let her mind wonder for a bit in thought of what composed the source of Hakumi’s happiness. Perhaps it was all the goodies they had plundered during their job to the ancient ruins. Enola certainly wasn’t thinking of that; she was more concerned with Emerald. They had left the lad alive after being responsible for the death of his twin sister, and the possibility that he might come back for vengeance seemed like a very good possibility. The maid had developed a mild form of paranoia after being in thought of the possibility for so long. She could almost imagine Emerald being behind every corner she passed.

Still, the maid tried not think about it as they headed toward the train station. It would be a long ride before they arrived at the Spooky Forest anyway.

Hakumi was getting stronger with every job she went on. She could feel it! In due time, she would be ready for her next exam: her Bank Rank exam. She wasn't in a rush to earn the title, but she wanted the experience. Just the feeling of getting stronger is reward enough, though her exam would make her stronger without a doubt. To her, getting stronger signified her usefulness. It showed that she was able to accomplish some thing. Some thing that other people had not yet accomplished.

"To the train we go!" Hakumi said. She found herself taking the train a lot recently. None of her personal business had really been in Hargeon. Most of the things taht she needed to find had been else where on the continent. In dangerous land forms, spooky seas, and deadly oceans. Her goal was to find the truth about everything that she had been told. The truth about herself...

"I have been amazing! Ever since our last job, I have felt better than I ever have before." She said happily. "I feel that we have gotten closer and that our bond has grown. Not only that, I have gotten a lot stronger since that job." She grinned heavily. She was proud of her progress, not only her physical progress, but her social progress. She had definitely gotten closer to her fellow Leviathan since that last job, and she was sure that her teammate felt the same way. You can't fake the moments that they had during that job. you just can't.

Enola blinked at her overly-happy teammate but laughed, “Aye, I’m very happy myself. We gave those treasure hunters quite the thrashing, wouldn’t you say?”

The maid looked out the train and, after a moment of pondering their last job turned to the water mage and said, “You know, I think we make an excellent team. I dare say we could rival Mr. Avoa's own strength if we work together.”

That last part might have been exaggerating a little bit. Kihia could slice powerful wizards in half with just a single strike. Enola had witnessed the feat when Zuo Cii’s sons had attacked and decimated the Lamia Scale guild hall. It was “absolutely dreadful” as a certain Englishman from a particular singing competition (Fiore Idol) would say. Regardless, the point was that Enola had quite a bit of faith in their teamwork given the amount of strong opponents they had faced when they ventured into the ruins of some forgotten city some time ago.

As Enola thought about it, she wondered if Hakumi had actually ever seen a vulcan. Not many people had seen them and lived to tell the tale. They were rather ferocious and nasty at times, but it did not seem farfetched that even stronger mages had not ever seen the beasts.

“Dear, before we get there, I feel I should ask… have you ever seen a vulcan?”

Enola meant that question in the least patronizing way possible, and she hoped her friend would be humble enough to answer honestly.

Enola's words made Hakumi even happier. She was happy to hear that she had also been happy herself. "Yes, I would! cx" She said giggling. They did in fact give the treasure hunters a thrashing. They defeated all 3 enemies with excellent team work! They acted without even being told to, like they were already familiar with the way the other used their magic, and what spells they had for it. Teamwork had just come natural to the two, and that was a great asset to Team Leviathan (aka the best team in Lamia Scale). Team LEviathan had the skills to pay the bills. They were teh bomb diggidy, the bomb dot com.

"I think so as well! Our team work has worked wonders for us!" She said smiling. "I bet, that together, we could be just as strong if not stronger than Mr. Avoa." Her statement may or may not have been true, but it was a statement that only time could deem to be true or false. The day the Leviathans challenge their guild master may come, but again, only time would be able to tell.

Though, it was kind of wishful thinking. Kihia was a powerful man, but then again, Enola and Hakumi were powerful women, and neither gave up easily. "I have not" She admitted to Enola. "Which did not really surprise me. I have not read much of anything about the beasts on the continent." She bonked herself on the forehead. "KNowing how they look would have helped! Can you describe their appearance for me?"

Enola grinned with the joy of a teacher who loved explaining things and told Hakumi, “Vulcans are like big apes with white fur. They’re much smarter than most apes though and can even talk. If we run into any, we must be careful. They’re both aggressive and cunning; in fact, it’s probably best if we keep on our guards at all times when we get there.” Enola remembered back to when Shohei and herself had been ambushed by a pack of vulcans. They were smart enough to know when and how strike. The darn apes had even managed to corner them against a large and dangerous river to keep them from escaping. It was in part mostly to Shohei and Enola’s brute force that even managed to survive the encounter with the dangerous beasts. The maid hoped they would not even run into any vulcans during their visit to the Spooky Forest this time.

The train was nearing their destination, but they still had some time left. Thinking over everything, Enola thought up the question of, “The Spooky Forest is quite big, you know? We should probably figure out how we’re going to find a small and tiny puppy in such a large forest. I don’t suppose you have any ideas, do you?” Truthfully, Enola was not the smartest apple in the bunch and she was well aware of it. She had a hunch though, that Hakumi had a better head on her shoulders than the maid did on hers.

The explanation of the vulcan enlightened Hakumi. Just as she planned to, she learned something new and what she learned was something that she had already believed she would beforehand just quicker. She imagined that she would find out when she was forced to encounter one, because it was certain that she would, but instead she got a verbal explanation from her teammate and friend; Enola. Thank you for the information. It has all been noted." She said smiling. Hakumi loved learning things and was happy that she could share the learning experience that is being a mage with one of her closest friends.

"I think I've been to the forest before. I'm not really sure, I may have another image in my mind. BUT! Dogs are genreally attracted to sound, but our voices are sure to scare it off, so we'll need to make lot's of noise, but not with our mouths." Hakumi had once read about that, so she was sure of what to do. he problem with panicked dogs is that most rescuers call the dog to try and get the dog to come to them … big mistake! Never call a stray dog. Don’t look at it, don’t pat your leg, and don’t walk towards the dog. If the dog has a skittish temperament, typically he is in “fight or flight” mode and will be running in fear. The moment that the first would-be rescuer pats your leg, moves towards the dog, and is saying “Come here, come here,” the dog often will associate that body language with the fear and adrenaline, and run away. So using an object to make noise would be more reasonable.

The train’s grand whistle howled as the train slowed down and its engines slowed. Steam blew out from the front of the train, blasting away any nearby birds. Gently slow, the train came to stop at the innocuous platform near the entrance to the Sooky Forest.

“Ready to get off, Ms. Nazu?” she chuckled, lifting herself from her seat as other passengers were dumbfounded as to why those two crazy chicks would want to get off in the middle of nowhere, but just shrugged it off because they were obviously cray-cray. The two lone cray-cray chicks stepped off the train and sat patiently on the platform as the train spurred its engines and shot off its whistle once more. As if watching a dear friend leave, Enola waved the train goodbye, causing some of the passengers to cringe as the continued craziness.

Once the metal train was out of sight, Enola turned to her partner and asked, “Shall we get going then?” She turned around to see a metal gate that led to the Spooky Forest. The duo wondered to it, and the dust mage carefully played with the metal fence and unlocked it. It came unlocking with a ringing noise and revealed a long, winding path made of dirt. Somewhere, within that mass of trees and other vegetation, there was a puppy and probably a wild pack of vulcans waiting for them.

“I suppose we should probably get hunting for that puppy.”

With that, Enola took the lead and entered the forest.

The best part about a train ride was getting off of the train. The seats weren't really comfortable, and Hakumi would get motion sick, but only on occasion. "Yes. I shall lead the way." She said, getting out of her said and walking forward. She noticed that they were getting a few stares, but she knew that she was cray-cray and didn't really care. If people want to stare, let them. They're the ones missing out on the adventure.

They're teh ones that don't get to go on teh hunt for a cute little dog! She stepped off of the train, her right foot first, and her left foot following. She started every walk with her right foot. Her right foot was her stronger foot, and to her, it just screamed leading foot.

As they were wandering through teh forest, Hakumi could hear strange sounds. "Must be Vulcans." SHe said. Not even 10 seconds after she said that, a VUlcan came popping out of the trees, swinging at Hakumi, but luckily, she was able to dodge teh attack. She followed up the Vulcan's attack with an attack of her own. She lifted her leg and slammed it down as hard she could right on the Vulcan's back. She examined the Vulcan. It was obviously a smaller one, but the size of teh claws still would have been very painful. "IF he hit me, it would have been very painful. But, from what I've seen from this one, Vulcans are not too much of a threat, especially if they ar unable to hit you." She said intellectually, placing one finger up to emphasize that she had figured something out.

Enola reluctantly let her less cute friend lead the way into the Spooky Forest which, for some reason, wasn’t even that spooky really. As they were walking though, Enola noticed how strong Hakumi’s right foot was; it stood firm and waded through the thin mist like a true leader. Her left foot was obviously the side kick of the two, prompting the maid to wonder if the right foot knew dust magic and the left foot knew water magic. They would be awesome sauce.

As they were moving along the dirt trail, a noise shrieked across the land and startled the two; Hakumi, as smart as her right foot, knew what it was though: a vulcan! Right on cue, a small vulcan jumped out of the trees (even though Enola thought vulcans did not really climb trees) and tried to pounce on Hakumi “Water Drinker” Nazu. The vulcan was foolish to try and defeat the great Water Drinker of Lamia Scale though as it swiftly got its monkey butt kicked. They would sing tales years later of how Hakumi managed to beat the might yet tiny and weak vulcan of the Spooky Forest. It was a historic moment, and Enola was glad to be a part of it.

    “That was impressive, Ms. Nazu!”

Another shriek came but Enola did not know her vulcan calls well enough to distinguish the noise as a vulcan call unlike Hakumi who had apparently mastered her vulcan calls well enough to know when one of the apes ere coming. Just like the last one, this was a weaker vulcan, but it was Enola who took the initiative to attack. She stomped her foot on the ground and caused a large geyser of dust to pop of the ground and launch the vulcan far away.

    Hooray!

Hakumi noticed Enola admiring her right foot. It stood strong, proud, and held Hakumi up for 19 years. It was her rock, her pillar, everything she needed and more. HEr right foot was the true leader of teh Leviathans. Her right foot made her the person she was at the time, a beautiful, strong, semi-independent woman that she was. Her right kept the strongest member of the team on top of her game. Made her quick, fast, strong, and agile. If anyone wanted some thing to look up to, it would be Hakumi Nazu's right foot. A leader, a supporter, and a true friend. Hakumi's right foot always had her back, he's only let her down once! But that was because she damaged her really bad, but he still fought hard for her that day.

Hakumi's obviously pudgy friend, Enola, had told her that her actions were impressive, which pleased Hakumi. "Thank you. I try." She said pleasingly. She wanted to gain Enola's attention, and the fact that Enola praised her made her happy (but I don't see why, cause Enola is uglee). Enola was a cherished friend to Hakumi, and she loved that they got along so well.

Just as she was about to start making the noise to signal the puppy, Enola had took down a Vulcan just as quick as Hakumi which was surprising. Enola didn't have much skill, so the fact that she was able to take down an opponent as fast as Hakumi, is very surprising.

Like roached, a flood of Vulcans popped out. HAkumi took down one by punching it fifty times in the gut because Hakumi can punch that fast.

Hakumi probably thought she was being cute by punching a vulcan in the gut, but it totally was not cute. It made her look somewhat like a man, which she probably was because no girl had big hands like hers. It was probably, in fact, that Hakumi was probably just two small men in a Hakumi costume. It was an undignified thought but one that was probably true. Regardless, the vulcan fell back and died. It just died. Hakumi had punched it right in the gut and automatically died! It defied the laws of physicals but the water mage had never been one to follow logic anyway.

There were more vulcans though, two more specifically. It prompted Enola to channel magic power into her gloved hands and form a ball of dust that swirled and slowly gained in size as it composed itself of even more dust. She held out her hands, allowing the dust ball to rise up and gain its form. It slowly turned humanoid and eventually took the form of a dust angel. Hakumi would no doubt notice the angel as the being that had saved her sorry butt when they were battling Nancy during their little with that one gang of treasure hunters whose name I can’t remember at this moment. The dust angel showed off for bit by flying its wings and arms before flying toward of the vulcans and punching it way harder than Hakumi could ever even dream fo. The vulcan, of course, died on the spot from getting its bones broken from the mere force of the impact.

It appeared taht Hakumi and Enola had caused enough noise to gain teh puppies attention because just as Hakumi was about to be attacked by the Vulcans, she spotted the puppy. She felt the urgency to protect it, so she began to form her water spheres, and began to fight with the remaining Vulcan. It was obviously suffering from Enola disease, because it was incredibly ugly and had a flat ass, but Hakumi was't one to judge. Heck, even if the Vulcan wasn't ugly, Hakumi still would have taken it down. She was a strong woman, and she could handle many things, one of those things being Enola. Enola was weak sauce, she could barely handle one Vulcan. Hakumi noticed her struggle, but she couldn't help because that was Enola's moment, and she didn't want to steal the spotlight from her like she always did. It wasn't Hakumi's fault that she was jsut better than ENola in every way, but she just was, so it was easy for people to forget about ENola and focus on Hakumi.

The Vulcan vaulted at Hakumi, but she was too quick! She moved to the side and it vaulted right past her! The Vulcan was obviously just as dumb as Enola, but Hakumi doesn't judge, so she stayed silent. Also, Hakumi didn't notice the dust angel because she was too busy being a strong woman! Hakumi slammed two of her water spheres into the Vulcan, with two more following after it. She then grabbed the puppy, and took the train ride back to HArgeon with Enola, completing yet anotehr quest. They obviously got really close from this. Hakumi handed teh man his puppy and returned to the guild hall.
