Job Description:
While going about your business, you notice a large polar bear charging towards you. The polar bear stops, and begins sniffing you. It sneezes, and stand tall at a height of about 10 feet, easily towering over many humans. It reaches into a bag that's tied to its underside, and pulls out a letter. The bear hands it to you, and waits for a treat of sorts.
"Assuming this has reached the hands of it's intended user, please do provide out messenger bear with a treat of sorts. We're trying to find new ways to use animals to assist humans so others would have little complaints with us doing such 'batty' things as preserve the species. Some people can be so cruel as to need a reason to be kind to nature, but I digress.
The man we relieved from your company the last time you aided us, I do hope you remember that, has provided us with invaluable information. Additionally, the man has even joined the ranks of the Rune Knights to provide their troops with insight onto applying magic to weaponry. He has given us the location of his former bosses hideout located somewhere in the commoners area of Neutral Grounds territory. The Magic Council, and our cohorts would be spotted quite easily within this area and would like for you to dig up this man. He's given us quite a bit of trouble, and whether you bring us his head in a box, or his body in chains is of little concern. Be quick, and godspeed to you!" ~Magic Council
You must search Neutral Grounds to find the hideout of the bandits top leader. Kill him, or bring him alive the reward is the same. In order to find the hideout you must attain 20 clues from around the commoners area of Neutral Grounds. Bear in mind, any use of magic will give you away as a secret agent and force you to restart with 0 clues.
Enemies:
Weak: Street Merchant
Street Merchants see everything, and interact with everyone. Roll the Damage Dice to see what this one knows. Hit means he has a clue to give you, Miss means he truly knows nothing.
Normal: Young Child
This kid doesn't look like he's your average stupid brat. He knows something for sure. Roll sets of 4 Damage Dice to attain a 3/4 Hit and get information. Otherwise, you must continue coaxing information out of him. If you hit the child, you'll be thrown in prison and have to start from square 1.
Strong: Smuggler
Smugglers are crafty, dirty little urchins that are known to find every crevice in towns to get goods and people past the guards. They all know what's happened, what's happening, and what will happen to a city. Beat the tar out of this one and get your clue!
Boss:
If you've rolled a boss you find a door with a sliding-bar peephole on it. Deciding not to knock incase that's the door, or incase it's not the door, you walk away. You also get +2 clues as to where the hide out it.
After All Clues
Upon acquiring your 20 clues, you find that the location is a strong metal door with a sliding-bar peephole. You press your head against it to look in, and the door creaks open. Entering the room is another hole in the floor with a not attached to a black dagger.
"You've gotten so close, but you are yet so far my TOOL
By the time you've obtained this letter, I'll be somewhere around here."
There is an arrow pointing to the back of the letter.
You turn the letter over, and there's a map of Earthland with a big circle around it, indicating he was messing with you by saying he's somewhere in the entire continent.
You walk out of the room and a fiery explosion sends you flying. You pass out, and wake up in the infirmary of the Neutral Grounds castle, with a rather irate looking man awaiting you to gain consciousness.
Reward:
20,000 Jewel
