Name:
Akeya Kuusai
Gender:
Female
Age:
19
Birthday:
October 3th
Sexuality:
Bisexual
Special Characteristics:
Eyes like those of a dragon (slitted and reptilian), instead of ears spiny fins, sharp nails, canines are small fangs. Extremely focused and intense glare. When angry those subject to her glare feel like there's an angry dragon gazing down at them.
Out of her back two draconic wings grow, and out of her lower back a long reptilian tail sprouts. Both are covered in dark blue scales.
Dark blue scales cover forearms, lower legs, hands, feet, and back. Sparser scales on upper arms, outside of thighs, her sides, and on her cheeks.
Dark blue lines on her shoulders.
Personality:
If you were to ask Akeya's friends to describe her in one word, they would answer with 'proud'. If you ask her enemies, they'd respond with 'arrogant'. As Akeya's magic has shown, she shows lots of characteristics which match those of a dragon. She is an extremely proud person, quick to be annoyed, and also quick to dismiss those she deems worthless or weak. This has as result that she can be very quickly riled up if somebody insults her, but at the same time can also not care at all if the insult comes from somebody she doesn't find important enough to care about. Akeya is hard to actually embarrass, thanks to her pride and confidence. One example of this is that while she knows modesty, if somebody were to walk in on her while she was naked she'd just tell them to get out of the room.
Akeya also is both intelligent and hungry for knowledge, never dismissing the opportunity to learn more about magic. She also has a strong desire to become stronger: While she follows the teachings of Soul Dance to gain a deeper understanding about magic, she also does it so studiously because she knows that if she diligently continues doing so she will become strong. The only thing preventing her from going down the wrong road and misuse the abilities granted by Soul Dance is the knowledge that doing so would in the end be her downfall, and that she has the willpower to resist the temptation.
While this might give the impression that Akeya is just a cold person, she also has other traits, which somewhat help compensate for the aforementioned characteristics, which would otherwise make social contact hard for her. For one thing, Akeya might have the tendency to look down on weaklings, but she isn't above helping them out, at least when it comes to reasonable problems and stuff that she herself also admits is rather difficult, and while she may rarely act truly kind or gentle, she does put good effort into being nice towards the people she can appreciate. Another thing is, that while Akeya might be disdainful of people, she only does so based on the actions of others: She will not look down on people just for their appearance, or anything else they don't have any control over, the exception possibly being how strong they are, although so far as Akeya is concerned weakness is an indication of a lack of trying.
Nevertheless, even with that Akeya still isn't the easiest person to communicate or interact with, especially since she likes silence and isn't very talkative (she talks, but expect short sentences).
In battle Akeya once again displays draconic traits: She is ruthless, aggressive, and applies both raw power and skill to accomplish her goal. Besides of that, Soul Dance has granted Akeya the abilities of a Twilight Dragon, meaning that she is also one for stealth and subtlety, hiding in the shadows and then in one powerful move striking out and taking the target down without giving them a chance to react. So far as she is concerned fighting is not to show off or impress: The most beautiful fight is one of high efficiency, no wasted movement, no flashy techniques, just plain out trying to take the opponent down with as little effort as possible.
Akeya does not like being the leader of a group, partly because it means there are a lot more variables to consider, and partly because she is the one who has to try and combine the group and have them all together be as efficient as possible. She also just has a preference towards working alone, independent of all other reasons. However, her confidence and all around serious/intimidating appearance allows her to command others without too much trouble, and while she isn't the most brilliant tactician around she does generally know how to get the job done.
When under a leader it is very important what impression Akeya has of the leader. She will normally obey orders properly, but if she doesn't think the leader is actually suited for the job she will feel more inclined to try and accomplish the objective following her own tactics. This only happens if the leader is somebody Akeya really can't respect, either as a person or a leader. While it does help if she respects the leader as a person, the important thing is her opinion of their leadership skills. If she does think the leader is worthy of respect Akeya will obey their orders without a fuss and try to follow them to the fullest, although even respect for the leader won't stop Akeya from expressing doubt about orders which to her appear to be stupid or only achieve negative results.
Likes:
- Dragons like gold and riches. Everybody knows that. Akeya also has a certain obsession with anything of value, although for her it's not so much economical value as aesthetic value. Akeya can truly appreciate almost everything that is considered beautiful, ranging from jewels and paintings to scenery and music. Of course, Akeya's definition of beautiful does not always correspond with that of others. For example, Akeya views a display of efficiently applied power and knowledge beautiful, but at the same time feels the urge to hit anybody who praises modern art, believing that there's more to art than just drawing something random and saying that it's art because of the deeper meaning and emotional undertones.
A bit of an odd side effect of her attraction to beauty is that while Akeya prefers males, she is rather easily enchanted by beautiful females. While Akeya would rarely if never actually approach a female for romantic reasons, she would not dismiss another female approaching her if said female manages to catch her attention. - As has been said, Akeya likes the idea of being strong, and knowing much. She is naturally attracted to libraries, and has deep respect for the powerful, although she has the requirement that they have to be smart with their power. Somebody who just had a lot of power from birth and uses it idiotically is disqualified.
- It has already been said before, Akeya holds a special place in her heart for anything beautiful. However, a special mention has to be made for music. Akeya's got some good ears, so one of the fastest ways of getting on her good side is allowing her to listen to good music.
- While not to the extend that she would go out of her way to be alone, Akeya does appreciate silence, and since humans tend to be fairly noisy (and thus irritating) Akeya has no trouble with the idea of spending prolonged amount of times on her own. She does prefer good music or otherwise positive sound over no sound, but she also prefers no sound over unnecessary/unwanted/negative sound.
- Akeya believes that efficiency is always important, to the point that even if she dislikes the actual subject she still can approve of it if it is done properly and with efficiency. A bit of a downside to this is that this also counts for matters like torture.
- Akeya's favourite times of the day are dusk and dawn, when it isn't bright but the sun is still/just managing to colour the landscape. Akeya doesn't like the day itself because it is too bright, and she believes that the night is too bland. It also helps that during twilight there are shadows aplenty.
Dislikes:
- Akeya has a lot of dislike for people who are lazy, cowardly, intentionally stupid, or otherwise are highly inclined to cause trouble for both themselves and everybody around them. Even worse is if those people then also complain about problems they themselves caused. For example, somebody who was just unlucky enough to be born crippled will be treated with sympathy, but somebody who got their legs chopped off because they were being stupid deserves only disdain, and if they then complain about losing their legs Akeya may very well punch them in the face.
- Just like how Akeya really likes good music and silence she has a real distaste for any kind of sound which doesn't serve some purpose or is just right down unpleasant. The result is that she tends to avoid crowded places, because gatherings of humans tend to reach a level of irritating noisiness that is hard to surpass.
- Akeya dislikes any kind of waste. Wasted potential, lost knowledge, inefficiency... Anything negative which could be avoided by people putting effort into it makes Akeya extremely annoyed. As a result, Akeya really does not get along with lazy people.
- Having a good nose can be useful. On the other hand, if something smelly comes along you're the one who gets to experience it to the fullest. As a result Akeya does put some effort into avoiding anything which smells. This is actually one of Akeya's biggest problems with stealth missions: Quite often to remain out of sight you end up being somewhere smelly.
- As has been stated before, Akeya doesn't really like the day for being too bright. She is rather indifferent about night, because she has good enough night vision that it doesn't hinder her, but she doesn't find it particularly beautiful, except possibly if there's a bright moon.
Motivations:
- Akeya wants to continue following the teachings of the Soul Dance, in the hope that it'll help her gain a full understanding of magic. Knowledge is important, and in the world of Fairy Tail magic is one of the biggest subjects that exists, which also contains the most mysteries.
- While Akeya has made decent progress with her magic abilities, she still wants to develop it further, both to become more powerful and so she isn't potentially missing something very useful or important.
- Besides increasing her knowledge and understanding of magic and developing her own powers further, Akeya also just wants to find a place in life where is fully content. That is the main reason why she left her home: She liked it back there, but she constantly had the nagging feeling that if she didn't go out and see more of the world she'd end up regretting it.
Fears:
- Akeya is uncomfortable when exposed to large amounts of light. This is partly because if the fact that if she's bathed in light that means there are no shadows nearby, and partly because her use of Soul Dance has left her simply a bit more vulnerable to light abilities. As a result, bright light is really bright for her, and you'll rarely see her outside in the middle of the day when there are no clouds to provide some cover.
- Because she puts so much importance in knowledge and intelligence, Akeya is extremely careful when handling books and scrolls, and always carries around the fear of getting hit in the head and suffering brain damage.
- Given the choice Akeya will always choose not to get into conflict with Dragon Slayers, because she has the instinctive feeling that fighting a Dragon Slayer would be a very bad thing to do. Considering what the results are of her using Soul Dance, she's probably right. The fact that she herself has now become a Shadow Dragon Slayer might or might not help with this fear.
General Appearance
Height:
6'2" (188 cm)
Weight:
143 lbs (65 kg)
Hair:
Black, falls almost straight down, although it has the tendency to slightly curl forwards. Normally in ponytail which gathers hair on the top and sides of the head while leaving the hair on the forehead and the back of the head free. Hair on forehead forms bangs, a small one and a bigger one which nearly covers her left eye.
Eyes:
Dark green
Skin Tone:
Olive
Appearance:
Akeya has a slim build, both naturally and from her training regime. She is toned, but not to the extend that she is really muscular, although she does sport a light six-pack. She's got long limbs, and slender hands and feet. She's got tougher skin than average, but it's also smooth, the entirety of it possessing the same colour and tanning. Akeya actually has a fairly decent bust and good curves, and wide hips, but she never draws any attention to it, and her clothing also tends to obscure it somewhat. It is clear that while Akeya has trained enough to be fairly strong, her built is more meant for agility.
Akeya tends to wear simple dark clothing, which clearly only is there as coverage, Akeya not believing she should have to bother with dressing up nicely. The most common is long dark blue pants and a sleeveless shirt, with even darker blue wrappings around the forearms and lower legs. The hands and feet are also covered in dark blue cloth, and Akeya wears sandals which she can quickly kick off her feet when necessary. The pants and shirt are rather loose-fitting, although Akeya makes sure it won't hinder her or snag onto stuff. Her shirt for example is loose enough that if necessary Akeya can pull it down on the back to show people her guild tattoo.
Akeya's face is pretty angular, although not to the extent that it goes against the more delicate build of the rest of her body. She's got high cheekbones and a pointed nose, with a mouth which is slightly on the small side and a pointed chin. Her eyes are a bit narrower than usual and very strongly resemble those of a dragon, with firm but delicate eyebrows above them. Instead of ears she has spiny fins, although she tends to hide those underneath her hair. Thanks to her ponytail her hair is out of the way, except for the larger bang which covers part of her forehead and nearly obscures her left eye.
Akeya has the tendency to wear a mask made out of dark blue cloth that covers her lower face, with the upper half of her face also being hidden by a broad dark blue blindfold (which also helps with hiding her 'ears'). The reason for the blindfold is because Akeya doesn't need light to see and in fact is sensitive to strong bright light. The reason for the mask is that Akeya just prefers to hide her lower face.
Akeya is clearly not a human, and her nature as a half dragon shows itself rather blatantly: out of her back, on the same height as where her arms start, two large draconic wings grow from her back, large enough to help her fly with ease. Out of her lower back, at the tailbone (for obvious reasons), a reptilian tail reveals itself, long and thin, but also strong.
These three extra limbs are covered in dark blue scales, which mix rather well with the sky of both dusk and dawn. Those same dark blue scales also show up on her forearms, lower legs, hands, and feet, although normally Akeya hides those scales with wrappings of cloth. Her back is also entirely covered in dark blue scales, and while not as overwhelming in number, there are also large scales on the outer half of both her upper arms and thighs, her sides, and some rather small scales on her cheeks, reminding some of freckles.
On her shoulders lines of the same colour as her scales are also visible, although they do not appear to actually form an actual drawing. They do not appear to be tattoos either, in fact looking more like her skin simply has that colour there.
