    Tane had arrived in Hargeon, eyes closed and ready for an adventure. Of course it was quite a strange sight to see a girl appearing about sixteen walking with her eyes closed. Some thought she was blind, some did not care enough to think of her case. Tane hummed along her way to the docks, the sound of boisterous humans shouting over one another growing louder as she got closer to the docks. It was annoying, to say the least. She opened her eyes then, frowning just a bit as she watched the horde of people there. What was happening? She would find out.

    The first thing she heard was a shrieky woman’s voice screaming at someone behind a desk to hurry up and that she had an old mother waiting for her at home. That was strange. What was so important that she had to leave an aged parent for? With a slightly cocked brow, Tane went to stand behind the incredibly long line of humans. Tapping the shoulder of the person in front of her, she asked in a whipser, “Hello, sir, what might all of you be lining up for?” The male turned and told her that they were here for the passport. “What is that?”

    The dark haired girl was quite confused by the word, a quizzical look about her face the entire time she was being explained to about a ‘passport’. It appeared she would need one as well and therefore stood in line, moving with it although the speed of which the line moved was even slower than the pace of a tortoise - an earth creature that she had studied of in one of her travels - specifically to a beach. “Thank you very much for your kind explanation,” she had told the human who was patient enough to inform her about the ‘passport’.

    Some people created a scene to display their lack of patience while some remained silent, not as eager but still wanted the document. Tane was part of the latter. The man in front of her was quite patient as well. She would wave at a child slung in a carrier on a lady’s back with a grin and the young human would return the gesture in a fit of giggles. This made her keep her grin. A refreshing gust of wind breezed through the mob, lifting Tane’s hair so it whipped to one side before falling in a draped form on that side.

    Finally, it was her turn. There was a machine on the desk in front of her that photographed her facial features, the flash of light almost blinding. After answering some questions and doing something called ‘signing’, the passport was made. Tane held it as if it was a fragile piece of glassware on her way out of the place. She giggled, carefully turning each page to see the writings of humans. It was quite a neat little booklet. She felt the smooth texture of the dark cover, her fingers only sinking into the engraved letters written in a shiny gold font.
