Mizark Kiir
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Birthday: June 6th
Sexuality: Straight
Special Characteristics
Personality:
Out of battle:
Contrary to what his strong, calm physical appearence may suggest, this wizard is by no means a hero. They say one can't judge a book by its cover, and this is the best example one can find out there. Mizark is (or at least was, until quite little time ago) completely unused to contact with other humans, given that he was taken under Azazel(The Hell Demon)'s wing when he was only seven years old.
As such, although he is able to properly introduce himself without stuttering or hesitating and keep a small conversation, he tends to get quite nervous and flustered whenever someone gets overfamiliar with him or when the interlocutor is a complete extrovert. Whenever these situations ensue, he will make terrible attempts at carry on with the conversation, which might end up in him saying things that make no sense whatsoever. If this happens with mere speaking, whenever his personal space gets invaded things are even worse. The previous effects get heavily intensified, let alone if the one getting a little too close is a girl. Probably one good way to describe Mizark while he's like this would be adorkable.
This is simply explained: in the past, he got berated by those he previously called family due to his use of the magic that had slain so many lives, and since that made him suffer a lot, he is unwilling to let anyone too close; he might get harmed once more.
Although he may be socially awkward in that sense, he's able to keep things short and sweet when dealing with serious conversations, even when they exceed his area of expertise. He can discuss about jobs or strategies, for example, or to deal with the authorities in a rather efficient way while standing as the voicer of the entire group, which is certainly strange. Even if he has it a little hard to follow casual chat, he has been good-hearted since he was little, and although that side of him is usually hidden behind a few layers of seriousness and a little shyness, it is certainly there.
Now, we have a somewhat tall, muscular, strong-looking guy who is a partial introvert, although good willed. That would be no fun whatsoever, right? Just what happens when he's threatened, about to battle, or forced into one? It takes just a little extra pressure to drive him to his other side.
In-Battle:
Have you ever heard of a 180 degrees turn? There is no better way to explain the changes he suffers upon imminent conflict, or while in it. His previously shy, calm self will suddenly be no more, which is best percieved when looking at him in the eyes. What could have been a hesitant gaze before is now gone, making room for one stare full of not only determination, but a hue of savagery and eagerness coupled with a great, wicked grin.
In this state, Mizark becomes incredibly bold, being able to step up and face any threat that gets on his way, no matter how outmatched he is, though it may even border on certain arrogance and pride. His actions may also begin resembling those of an anti-hero. While he's fighting, he is still capable of following plans to an extent, but he's prone to ignore your words once he has entered this state. He may still talk to his allies or foes, of course, but any plans or strategies should be devised while he's still in his non-aggressive state.
Every hesitation Mizark could have previously had vanishes, being able to surpass his self-consciousness and fear of casual interaction in order to overpower and beat his foe. He feels incredibly alive during battles, partly because of Azazel's demon magic coursing through his veins, and also because he is somewhat addicted to that feeling of being able to drop every restraint and act without remorse. This does not mean he lacks morals, of course: he will refrain from killing his foes unless it's a job condition or it's deemed necessary by his team or guild, and he will not beat anybody who's already on the ground and unable to continue.
Plus, given that he has lots of fun in a fight, he will never pick fights with wizards whose level is outright inferior to his, unless it is for sparring or mentoring, or to learn something new. This rule, however, is ignored whenever said wizard is making fun of those he considers precious, insults his guild, or badmouths Azazel. However, insults on his persona will simply be taken with no further consequence, unless things get too heated.
Likes:
- Rainy days: whenever he's training or thinking about something, there is nothing that helps him relax more than the sound of rain falling. It is soothing, almost hypnotic, for him.
- Moonless nights: The lack of a visible moon, in his opinion, only makes the night sky more beautiful than it already is. It is also Mizark's favourite to go for a walk under. Plus, it reminds him of his father, which serves to add a nostalgic touch to it.
- Cheerful people: contrary to what his personality might suggest, Mizark cherishes the company of optimistic, cheerful companions, since the contrast with his own way of seeing things is refreshing for him, and makes him look at the bright side of things.
- His training gloves: the only thing he has left to remember the only true experience of family he ever had is the pair of training gloves he sports in every outfit. They are full of happy times for Mizark.
- Exceed pets: for no apparent reason, just mere instinct, he is quite prone to like Exceeds a lot. Secretly, he wishes to have one by his side, but he doesn't know if he'd be capable of taking care of it.
- Challenges: there's nothing that gets him more excited than a good challenge, that's why he finds jobs to be quite good to keep him entertained while he grows as a wizard.
Dislikes:
- Arrogant wizards: those who exert their power in order to show off, intimidate or subjugate people make him want to punch something badly. And that thing will usually be the aforementioned wizard's visage.
- Cowardly people: he hates those who would run at first instance without even attempting to fight their fears and conquer them. One can lose even when trying, and sometimes even be called trash... but those who won't even move a finger are even worse than trash.
- Killing: for Mizark, life has an enormous value, no matter how small or unable to defend itself. As such, he despises the act of killing, loathing it even when it's a condition of a job, or when it must be done.
- Doing nothing: when he is not occupied in anything, he tends to get nervous very fast because he is getting incredibly bored. He finds no pleasure whatsoever in dozing off or laying around: he needs activity in his life.
Motivations:
- Becoming renowned: even while being partially abandoned by his parents due to their jobs, he wants to become a renowned wizard in Earthland so they can be proud of him and know he's okay, no matter where they are.
- Mastering his magic: the path of magic is long, and has many uphills and stairs one must take, but Mizark is determined to tap into the depths of the magic he commands, no matter how long it takes him.
- No regrets: Mizark wishes that, when the time comes for him, he will not have any regrets on the way he lived his life, hence why he wants to live every single day as if it was his last. Also the main reason why he dislikes doing nothing.
- Relationships: even if he has this socially awkward, clumsy side, he wants to be able to overcome it and be able to become friends with someone, perhaps even form a family in the future, although it is still too soon for that.
Fears:
- Being betrayed again: given how he was previously scorned by those he considered friends, Mizark fears to relive the same pain once again. This is the reason why he doesn't want to get too attached to anybody.
- Losing his gloves: due to how much emotional value they hold, losing his pair of gloves is certainly something he does not want to experience. Never.
- Spiders: as silly as it sounds, he cannot stand spiders. Yes, he has been obligated to fight them before, so he can do it up to an extent; that doesn't mean he gets shivers just from seeing one. Their body, their way of hunting, everything about them creeps him to no end.
- Weakness: one of his greatest fears, indeed. Mizark is terrified to think that he will reach his limit without having the strength to achieve his goals, nor protect everything he holds dear. With enough power, things like that can be made to disappear so easily... be them Dark Guilds, or the monsters that blight the world.
General Appearence:
Height: 6' 1'' | 185 centimeters
Weight: 187 lb | 85 kilograms
Hair: Mizark's hair is usually seen shifting between two different styles:
The first one, and the one he tends to sport, is middle-length, with two or three locks falling over his face while the rest of the hair is pointing backwards, letting his ears visible. The locks, however, are not enough to cover his face, making him recognizable even when he's wearing a hood.
The second one is when he lets it grow, be it because he's in a long job or because he has had no time to get it cut. It falls all over his eyes, making it difficult to recognize him at first, and it easily reaches the nape of his neck. The sides are also quite long, covering his ears. Since it is uncomfortable, one common tic he has while sporting this is moving the locks out of the way of his gaze, although it helps him training with reduced visibility.
Eyes: His gaze changes when he's out of battle and when he's in the midst of the fray. In the first case, Mizark has a tranquil, kind look in his deep black, magnetic eyes, but when he enters battle they gain a series of red flashes and what was previously calm is now a ferocious, eager look in the eyes of someone who's enjoying himself.
Skin Tone: Light, slightly tanned since when he trains, he tends to do so shirt-less or with light clothing.
Appearance:
Beginning by his face, Mizark's may give off the wrong impression at first. His angular features, combined with his usually penetrating gaze (that is, when he's not speaking to nobody) and thoughtful expression often make it easy for people to mistake him as an incredibly collected and calculator individual. His eyes are not that big and his ears don't stand out that much, but his sharp outlines an makes up for it. This sharpness seems to be a compliment to his body, but we will cover that later. His eyebrows are small, while his cheekbones seem to be part of the angular fashion his face sports. Due to having little to no fat, apart from what's natural in one's body, his cheeks barely stand out. His neck is well-defined, and he has no jowl whatsoever, as expected of a fit male his age.
His body, due to training at early ages with the proper resting and eating habits for his type of power have ended up granting the teenager a ripped, strong, resilient body. His muscles are quite defined and well toned, with a broad torso, a six pack, and muscular arms and legs. In his left arm we can easily spot Eclipse Soul's guild tattoo, facing outwards and easily visible when he's in short sleeved outfits, or when he's topless. His limbs are proportionate in relation to his height, although his legs are a little bit longer than average. His feet, while not the biggest around, usually sport the fourth or third biggest size available, while his hands have developped according to his height.
When it comes to clothing, he have different outfits, obviously depending on the season, the time, the activity, etcetera. However, there is always a constant: a pair of training gloves that Azazel himself gave him. They hold no special effect, nor are powerful on their own, but Mizark cherishes them a lot.
-Spring/Autumn attire: T-Shirts or A-Shirts of navy or black colors are his usual choice of attire, sometimes worn under a hoodie when it's raining, along with a pair of white shorts that allow for enough movement to spar and fight, completed by a pair of trainers and short white socks.
-Summer attire: he can be seen wearing black, sleeveless vests with a few red motives that let his built frame visible, which could be considered a too revealing in most situations. Additionally, he wears comfortable beige shorts that allow enough room for movement and a pair of sandals in order to fend off the heat from his feet.
-Winter attire: In addition to his usual spring attire, he wears a warm, comfortable hoodie of dark colors with a white T-Shirt, although it is not visible since the outer clothing is not usually removed in harsh weather. Additionally, jeans and boots specifically made for snowy and cold conditions complete his outfit. Although not visible, he wears short grey socks.
Guild:
Guild: Eclipse Soul
Tattoo: Located in the outer part of his left arm, pitch-black with a while outline
