Testing Testing 1 2 3(Invitation Only)

It had been a while since the mage had come here. Now that he thought about it he hadn't been here since he had his old body. It might of been before he even became an S rank mage. That felt like an age ago. In a way you could say he had never been here because this body had truly never been here. However, this place was an ideal testing ground for him. Why? Because this particular mage was famed for fighting giant monsters. So where better to test out a new magic then the land famed for oversized monsters. Who was this man? His name was Zack Rose and he was an ace of Blue Pegasus and a H rank mage at that.

He stood there atop a pillar of stone holding a finger up to his nose focusing on the area around him. He could feel many large monsters around him, but few had power really suitable for his test. It was then he sensed a small figure. It was odd to feel anything small out here. However, whilst small it was powerful. His curiosity was peaked and he leapt off the stone and dropped to the ground landing with barely a thud as he reduced gravity to near 0 at the last moment. He began to run along the ground almost silent looking for the source of the power. He was drawing close to it slowly.

(Testing a new mage and magic concept for....things * gets all secretive* )

As Zack approached, he would first be met by a monster. A massive, sixty foot behemoth of a four legged, snow white ape. With one arm torn off and its head missing. three of these beasties lay scattered about, in various pieces. They were Winter Squishers, formidable A rank monsters, and from the looks of things, they had met something far more powerful.

"So you are Zack Rose, are ya?" Came a voice, not far off. Approaching Zack, dragging a fourth Squisher, came an absolute monster of a man. Well over nine feet tall, with arms and legs like tree trunks, the thing before him was positively herculean in size and scope. Every single muscles was swollen to the peak of its size. His head was shaved and a large nose dominated his face. Blue trunks, padded blue boots that went to his knees, and blue, fingerless, padded gloves were all he wore. And a large, black, circular, scorpion tattoo took up most of his left pectoral.

"Names Balrog. Ma boss sent me ta beat ya into the dirt. Offered a nice hump o gold ta do it to, swell as a spot as ace o da guild." the man said as he threw the massive carcass away with one hand. It was obvious that sheer, dominating strength was this mans greatest asset. "So, do ya ascept ma challenge?" he asked with a big, wicked grin.

Zack had to admit he was quite impressed with the man's strength. He seemed to have dealt with four powerful monsters and seemingly through pure physical strength. That was impressive indeed. Especially when he tossed away one of them with relative ease. It was possible that in terms of base strength this man outclassed him, but there were few who could compete with his speed. "Dark guilders after me already? Damn, i've only been back a week." he said with a grin cracking his knuckles. "Well, if its a fight you're after I am sure I can spare some time. So we going to the death or what?" Zack didn't wait for an answer and blurred forward suddenly going for what seemed like a powerful frontal assault. However, at the last moment he threw himself into a roll and sprung up off his hands throwing his full weight into a powerful kick at stomach height. It was a general opening gambit for Zack and one he liked to do as it could normally end a battle quite quickly. No sense messing around too much with a dark guilder. He was sure he recognised the tatoo. A scorpion.

"How much is my head worth nowadays anyway?" Zack asked curiously as he altered the effect of gravity on his body so that he flew backwards away from Balrog and flipped back to his feet. "Just wondering ya know. Good to know how annoying i'm being."

Zacks foot would connect with Balrogs abs solidly, and a small shockwave of air would spread from the force of the blow. And Balrog just stood there as if he hadn't even felt it. "Naw, not to the death. That's a whole notha pay grade." he said as he bent his legs and raised his hands up to about shoulder height, open and fingers spread, ready to grapple. He would then begin to slowly weave his hands about, moving his feet slightly. "Nice kick by the by. Actually felt it. H rank is ya? I can respect ya powah, but I got mah boys watchin." He said, jerking his chin to a nearby hill. Atop it stood two men and a smaller figure. One man was massive, almost Balrogs size, waring heavy red armor, and sporting a very impressive mustache, a sword on his hip. Next to him stood a smaller man, just over five feet, with a massive launcher of some sort on his shoulder and fiery red hair, sticking straight up for nearly six inches. Between them stood a small child, maybe eight years old, with blonde hair and cat ears, bouncing excitedly. "Thems mah team. They wont interfere, this is mah fight. But I like ta know when I am being watched, figured should sten the courtesy to ya swell. Oh. And ya heads worth bout half a mil." he said, before lunging forward with a massive right hand, delivering a battering ram like punch. He would miss, his aim way off, and punch the ground instead. As he hit it, the ground would simply give way under the force, a shockwave going out from the impact, and a crater forming from the punch, the edges actually flying out into the air, and the center going down easily ten feet. Brute force was obviously this ones forte. On a terrifying level.

Zack had to admit he was quite impressed. He'd hit this guy solidly with a powerful double kick and hadn't even moved him an inch or caused him to flinch. It seemed this man's muscular structure was that strong that it functioned like actual armor. Impressive to say the least. It also seemed that even if he wanted to, which he didn't as it wasn't his style, there would be no way to convince this guy to back off. No, he would fight until he either won or he lost because his team were watching. On top of that he was much more likely to keep going long after he'd been beaten.

As the punch came flying Zack saw it was an obvious miss, but still he used the moment to dodge to the other side. It was fortunate as the blow shattered the ground sending shrapnel of earth all over the place and causing a massive crater. This man's strength was truly impressive. It was also interesting that the price on his head was half a million jewels. Pretty impressive. He still felt it should be a bit higher. He was a H rank, wizard saint, ace and had even helped bring in Yugi before. Ah well, he could correct that today. Dark mage's valued their own lives quite highly so if he brought Balrog down then Zack's bounty would go up.

He knew he shouldn't hold back against an enemy like this, but Zack had come here to test his own strength so perhaps holding back and seeing how much he needed to use to beat this guy would be better. With iron-like muscles a direct powerful blow likely wasn't going to be too effective. What his instincts told him was to go for precise blows. He lunged in from the side and this time went for a simple, but powerful roundhouse kick to the back of the man's knee. Due to his muscular frame, even with muscular legs, the knees would likely take a lot of strain and as such were a weak point. It would be even worse due to his height.

As zacks kick came in, Balrog would respond in the best, and likely most frightening way he could. By simply disappearing. In a flash, Balrog was gone, and suddenly right behind Zack, a painful, stone crushing punch coming in at the blue Pegasus mages kidneys. "You see my size and sheer strength and assume I'm slow? That is insulting." He said, his accent and odd speaking mannerisms suddenly gone. The expression on his face had changed as well, to one of pure aggression. If Zack was sent flying, or if he dodged, Zack would leap into the air, nearly thirty feet up, and come crashing down, aiming to bring his knee down onto Zack, causing another monstrous crater, wether he hit Zack or not. "Don't hold back now. You are one of the few mages in the world, no matter where I go, that might actually be able to beat me. That boy there is named Bosco. He wants to be just like me someday. And I have yet to be able to show him how to lose properly." Balrog would say, ripping his way from the crater. Despite the change in speaking styles, Zack would likely notice that Balrog had gotten significantly quieter to. It was obvious, he didn't want the boy hearing this part.

The blow hit Zack and indeed sent him flying. It hurt like hell, but was he going to let himself be hit by the next attack? Of course not. He simply altered the effect of gravity on himself so that he could flip onto his hands and spring out of the way avoiding the blow. It seemed that this man whilst incredibly large and muscular was fast. No, his speed didn't seem natural like Zack's own speed. Something was giving him an edge. He raised his gloved hand towards the behemoth of a man emerging from the crater and observed the man's aura. H rank class strength, possibly slightly above it, and probably only a C rank's speed. Something was up. His aura was also very odd. It wasn't like most mages which had one or two types. No, his seemed to consist of an ever shifting series of five. If he focused a bit harder they came to form what appeared to him as an image of a towering giant made of poisonous iron surrounded in an aura of negativity. There was also what seemed to be a sense of swiftness. What was most odd were the shining orbs of magic power that seemed to be within the body itself. Either this man had multiple places for storing magic, a second, third, fourth and fifth origin perhaps, or he had lacrima and that was where his high speed had come from. Perhaps that was why his skin had seemed so hard as well.

"Sorry about that bud." Zack said rubbing his side. His armored clothing had taken a lot of the blow and his healing factor was already in effect to some extent. "See it more as a test to confirm whether you were slow or not." He blurred forward towards the target and as he did he began to move swiftly to the sides to form a series of five after images. These looked almost identical to Zack himself and would continue moving like himself, but they would shimmer slightly. An observant person would notice them, but it was a useful distraction.

As he got in close all of the after images and the real one would draw the large sword upon their back and each would swing at him making it seem like five attacks had been launched at once. Zack had not activated any spells to boost his speed, but was now using his full H rank speed and strength along with his swordsmanship to try to bring this guy down. The real one's target was the arm. He aimed to heavily damage it and reduce the punching power of his target.

Magic:

Balrog watched the five images, his eyes darting about. He couldn't make out which one was the real Zack. But he didn't need to. He saw the attack coming and figured out easily that it was meant to disorient him and open him up to an attack from a surprise angle, but he wasn't going to wait around and take the hit. Balrogs massive legs suddenly tightened, and out of seemingly nowhere, he launched himself up high into the air, like a rocket, fourty feet, straight up, an impressive feat. As he was in the air, he would begin to slowly roll through the air, launching his own attack.


The first move would be to thrust his left hand down, towards Zack, a sudden wave of distortion coming from his hand, engulfing a 50 foot area. Everything in that area would suddenly lose any magic below S rank. At the same time, he would raise his right hand above his head. As he did so, green energy would form in his palm, before suddenly shoot up in size. In a second, he was holding an absolutely massive, 100 foot in diameter, green ball of overwhelming magical energy. He would then throw it at Zack. When it landed, it would explode, sending out an absolutely massive, emerald wave of energy, that would shred through the ground and anything else in its path. The green explosion covered an entire mile, and rose up nearly another mile into the sky.

The leg strength of this man was very impressive. Without any magic at all he had leapt forty feet into the air and that was when he revealed the first of his magical abilities. A huge wave of anti magic flew down towards him vaporizing the after images leaving only the real Zack standing. However, it seemed the distortion was a mere distraction for he had created a huge energy ball and threw it to to the ground. He had no choice, but to activate one of his spells if he wanted to avoid being hit.

"Ryusei-gun." he said and an aura of pale blue light surrounded his body. With this he flew like a rocket to avoid the sphere. When it hit the ground it exploded and it took all his speed to keep ahead of the explosion and stay out of the way. There was no way he could hold back against this man now.
"Ryusei Aki." The aura of pale blue light became much denser.

He grinned and flew back into range of his opponent with his sword drawn and went straight at him going for a powerful series of rapid sword swings so fast they were a blur. His speed and strength were now enhanced greatly. The speed by 140% and the strength by 120%. He was a true force to be reckoned with now.

Magic:

(Ok, after review, Balrogs magic has been tweaked. I will now be playing him with the tweaked version)

Balrog saw Zack coming, but couldn't hope to counter his speed. But he didn't have to, as he raised his arms, forearns out, and accepted the beating, allowing the blade to strike him, and stepping back, his monstrous legs leaveing indentions in the ground. But as hard as Zack hit, all the damage that could be seen was red, raised welts, not the breaking of the skin that would normally be accompanied with such strikes. "Fast, fast as. But that can be COUNTERED!" He snarled, ththrowing his arms out to the side quite suddenly, another blast of emerald energy erupting from his body, clearing a fifty foot area, dealing B rank damage, and throwing Zack if he got caught in it.

But Balrog wasn't done, instead throwing his hands up into the air. As he did so, small, pink this time, orbs would begin shooting out of his hands, and high into the air, scattering out, hundreds of them, covering the sky for almost a mile. Up on the hill, if Zack was paying attention, Zack would see Balrogs allies go into a sudden panic, the big one in the armor grabbing the boy, and all three of them suddenly starting to run for it. Whatever this spell was, it was apparently quite nasty.

The green energy orb knocked him back, but with the boosts he currently had it wasn't enough to take him out of the fight even for a moment. What's more with soemthing as interesting as the lightshow going on there was no way he was stopping especially as it had caused his allies to retreat.

"Kicking things up a notch?" Zack said with a grin. "Time to test this out. Gate of the Serpent Bearer: Unlock." Zack's body was engulfed in a bright light pale blue in colour. The bright light spread till it was an 8ft in size and then faded revealing a large armored figure with a large wolf head on one arm and a large horned dinosaur head on the other. The colours were predominantly red with black and grey markings to fill it in. The dinosaur head clamped down on his sword and the runes upon it began to glow a bright orange. Zack once more flew at the target. "Choetsu Kiba" he said coating his sword in the energy extending its range and increasing its piercing power. As he flew in close the wolf head formed into a cannon and fired off a powerful blast of energy. "Daiko Taiho." This was to distract or weaken the target. Then he flew in at full speed and aimed to ram the blade straight through his opponent's stomach. IF this didn't pierce it Zack's didn't have much more he could to try and pierce him.
