A Thesis about the Tatari

Warachia von Geitz
- The Back Story:
- Warachia
Warachia von geitz is a prominent mage who worked closely with the Magic Council, affiliated with the Department of Technological Advancements on Magical Arms section XIII. He invented ACTT along with twelve chamber members and was the only one who survived the Sorceress’s attack. He’s a mage who used to wield Archive and Memory Make magic but had lost his powers due to having imitated the Sorceress’s transformation which was cursed. He was the first mage to ever jump into another reality and had fused with the power of Laplace Demon’s Eye, cursing him with the power of Phenomena. A few days afterwards he later became known as the Tatari which was Warachia’s new existence. Having been from another reality, common beliefs of superstition around the world are being realized which the damage is caused just by having Warachia living in this reality.
Warachia’s Life as a Convict
After the results that had happened, a thorough investigation has been conducted involving the murders of the chamber members. The investigation teams with their special talents managed to piece together some evidence and had come to a conclusion that “Pandora’s Box” which was the name of the incident was literally opened and whatever results had come, the chamber members failed to contain. The transformed Warachia came out from the Black Sphere conjured by the mysterious artifact and in a fit of rage and madness, he slaughtered each and everyone one associated with the project. Warachia in general is supposed to be compatible to the reality he warped into if not for having fused with Laplace Demon’s Eye. When space distortions became present (Omens turning into actual phenomena), it became the Celestial Spirit’s objective to seek out the the Tatari’s core in order to separate Warachia from Laplace Demon’s Eye power. Though it was predicted that this could happen there hasn’t been any known method on how to extract Laplace Demon’s Power from Warachia knowing that a catastrophic consequence can occur. Furthermore the Celestial Spirits could not minimize the damage for that Humanity became a catalyst that powers the said Phenomenon. The Magic Council also seeks out the said entity that came into the world but Warachia has been far too difficult to find like finding a certain small grain of sand in a vast dessert. The investigation of the said entity’s whereabouts was therefore closed and left incomplete for centuries.
ACTT
ACTT is an abbreviation for Autonomous Chronic Time Tablet, a powerful magical device the size of a huge table with several inscriptions and symbols that can allow accurate predictions of future events. With Laplace Demon’s Eye as its core and a few modifications to the complex contraption, it can predict to more than a hundred predictions on a single day. It’s created for the Council in order to plot out the possible movements of its enemies and those who dare oppose them. It’s primarily made as an alternative instead of having to use the invention of the Celestial Spirit Realm. The Celestial Spirit King forbid the Magic Council from predicting the future because it is something that isn’t reserved for humans. This however implies that the Celestial King have known the consequences beforehand. In the reality Warachia is today, ACTT did not exist however, the Idea to summon the power of Laplace Demon was simulated as a secret project to invoke Laplace Demon’s Power using the same magic used to make the magical portals that lead to other planets, instead on focusing on displacement, it was focused on a boundary between fiction and reality where it was believed the entity would exist, as a result Warachia came into reality and the distortions of space started to occur.
Laplace Demon’s Eye
Laplace Demon’s Eye is said to be an artifact when the philosopher mage Laplace encountered an entity that felt like that of the devil itself and was given to him afterwards. Although Laplace Demon isn’t actually what others call a devil, rather an entity that seemed to present itself as one who tempted Laplace to use his gift. There can only be one Laplace Demon’s Eye out of the infinite number of realities in all of existence. It’s a stone like gem with concentrated volumes of magic that is proved to be radioactive and is an element not made from any other reality. It has the ability to predict the future as well as the probabilities of the said future. It isn’t what one would literally call an eye rather having possessed only a portion of its power. It was contained in the gem like artifact to prevent any damage to reality however at some point the gem reacted to the Sorceress’s touch different and thus became unstable, shattering the container. The reason was that in another reality, where the chamber members were performing a ritual to invoke the said power. The gem vessel responded to the said ritual and thus a small rift was formed inside causing an imbalance of power inside Laplace Demon’s Eye and upon physical contact, the gem shattered.
The Tatari Processing
The Tatari is a Living Phenomenon born after the power of Laplace Demon’s Eye has lost its primary vessel to which Warachia was then chosen to become the core and vessel itself. The Tatari brings forth true phenomenon into the world realizing simple omens, taboos, rumors into actual phenomena. It has no true form or a body to call its own, and it has become something lacking independent individuality. It is nothing more than a phenomenon. It can be called a kind of energy that gives things orientation, and a phenomenon with infinite forms. When a community of people imagines one thing at the same time, a consensus of the village emerges as a legend. TATARI can only exist by clothing itself in rumors, so as the isolated legends, often dealing with taboo, are spread between people, its roots spread through the area. It permeates the unpleasant rumors that begin to turn into reality as time passes, allowing it to occur due to the bizarre circumstances. It pieces together anxiety from a little bit of the rumors and reality to take form. Once such a legend becomes universally established, Warachia becomes the legend and later disappears in the same manner. It repeatedly brings such legends into existence, becomes real, and feeds in cycles.
Tatari is not a mage nor is it Warachia. It has no true form or a body to call its own, and it has become something lacking independent individuality. There is nothing left of the dispersed mage’s former self and finding the “Concept of Warachia” among the infinite flow of information is next to impossible.
The conditions for the occurrence of TATARI are based on human conceptions. Like a typhoon that stems from low pressure, it is a continual menace that occurs over and over as long as the conditions are met. Even if the phenomenon of a typhoon were destroyed, it would still reoccur within the world again and again. TATARI exists in the same manor as a societal phenomenon, a rumor relying on information that will continue as long as the human world continues with or without magic. There is no "true TATARI" or "fake TATARI", as it can exist forever through others.
Once all those who feared the curse die, it can no longer spread, leading to TATARI's disappearance once he kills all those who made him. He can only manifest for a single night, so it is possible for people to survive when he vanishes after the time limit is up. He is a manifested curse, so he must act according to that conceptualization. If he were to attempt to stay indefinitely by not slaying those who conjured him, he would not be able to exist. He crystallizes into the object of the people's dreaded wishes, kills them all, and vanishes according to those wishes. Appearing as a curse, TATARI must be a curse above all else.
Conditions for the Tatari to Manifest Processing
The first is that the area needs to have a rumor, Malignant Information such as urban tales, fright stories, anonymous charges, unfounded assumptions, improbable evidence, and all manner of rapidly spreading but ultimately void rumors. This is ideally something about an individual, and preferably the extension of something human. It is not a minimum rule, but rather what TATARI desires as a former human, as it cannot move without human intelligence.
The second condition is that the extent of the legend most be somewhat socially isolated while circulating. Rumors have problems spreading uniformly over large areas, so small, closed communities are more suitable to it. It usually occurs in small villages, so he mentions that the city of Misaki is much larger than where it normally forms. While it isn't necessary for rumors to be true in order bring about an materialization of them, it is much easier to bring about that which has a basis. It can be hard to make original rumors into truth, but those with an origin become confirmed as long as even the smallest amount of information is flowing.
The third condition is that there must be witnesses, one or several, in the area where the rumor is spreading. There are various ways of a person acting as a witness, such as knowing the basis of the rumor or simply being one of the many people spreading it. Rather than bringing about a true rumor in such a case its referred as "merely presenting something that was behind a curtain." When a rumor collects enough momentum, the probability of it becoming real increases until it reaches a certain point and becomes TATARI. There needs to be a terminal point from which it spreads, usually beginning from a single person and flooding out from there. There are also rare cases where people end up guiding the rumors intentionally to form TATARI according to their own thoughts. These people likely do not have any ill intentions, but end up on the same wavelength as TATARI and end up wondering why events are turning out like they thought.
The fourth condition is that the area must have been chosen beforehand by Zepia while he was calculating TATARI's path. The realization of people's anxiety can only be hatched for one evening due to TATARI's form.
