- Job: The Watering Hole - Battle for the Beer!
Rank: B
Player Requirements: single or team. 3 B rank and 2 C rank mage max for team. 30 post minimum and 350 words per post.
Job Location: Mountain village
Job Description: "Damn it! I need some people I can rely on, people I know and trust. My tavern is being attacked nearly every day and night by some bastards who tasted my beer and got hooked on it! If they manage to steal my beer they might copy the formula and ruin me! My bouncers and some helpful travelers have been good so far, but I'm running out of time!
Please help me! If you can stop them all, kill or beat them to a pulp I don't care, I'll reward you handsomely! If you can do it without breaking any of my barrels you'll get even more! These people are getting on my last nerve and I really need people!
Hurry!"
Mission Objectives:
- Defeat all invading Beer Stealers
- Prevent all the beer from being stolen
Enemies: Beer Stealers
Magic: Dark and Gun Magic
Weak: Hired Thug- Being paid by the boss to assist in the stealing, these thugs have no magical use but carry a large arsenal of different types of guns; making them dangerous for any unwary foe.
Normal:Alcoholic Mage- a poor excuse for a mage, but one none the less, they are well skilled at dark magic and could do severe damage to those who do not take them seriously.
Strong:Moonshiner apprentice- still learning the ways of the moonshine, these people are nothing to be trifled with; they can use both dark magic and gun magic without a problem, alternating between the two.
Boss: Gragas, the Moonshiner- A very large ten foot behemoth of a man with a body to match. His body has a diameter of 2 and a half meters, reaching about seven to eight feet wide. He would wear no shirt, and wear only overalls made for his specific size. He has a large brown beard and mustauch stained from his home made brew. Despite being large structure, he is quite fast and has amazing strength. He carries around a large double barrel shot gun with barrels half the size of his arms, and almost as wide as his fist. He is well adept to using some magic as well, and is normally seen carrying a large Cask on his back for long trips away from home to restock.
Abilities: Gragas can channel magic into his body to give him a heavy charge, rushing towards his targets with an unstoppable force to smash through trees, large boulders, and sometimes break down reinforced metal doors.
Shotgun Frenzy: Using his shotgun, and channeling some magic into it, Gragas lets out a large consistent spray of dark matter that destroys defense before dealing burning damage to his targets.
Cask explosion: Getting angered enough to the point of throwing one of his many Casks on his person, Gragas fills it up with dark magic and hurls it towards his targets, creating an explosion large enough to knock anything not bolted to the ground five meters away, dealing significant blunt damage.
Refill: Grags pulls out one of his Casks and takes a giant swig of his home made Moon Shine, powering himself up with it being tainted by dark magic. It refills up his stamina, and increases his physical attack power by double for a short duration (Three posts)
Reward: 15,000 Jewels

Ni-Ju clung to the makeshift leather saddle that had been fashioned for Sim's massive back like a burr as they made their first pass over Mountain Village in the mid morning light. Spotting a good landing site just to the south of the village, he gave a series of quick tugs to the reins, signaling Sim to land. Sim tucked in his wings and began rapidly descending towards the road into town. Reextending his wings at the last possible moment with an audible "Snap!" they glided safely to ground, coming to a stop no more than a hundred yards from the sharpened wooden palisade that served as this town's primary means of defense against the numerous dangerous creatures that called this land their home. Grabbing his pack from beneath the leather straps where all equipment was stored while aboard Sim, Ni-Ju loosened the embarking rope and slid down with the ease of someone who had long practiced climbing. With both feet once again in contact with solid ground, he whistled for Sim to take off northward in search of food and watched as his friend furiously pumped his wings, sending him quickly aloft. Shouldering his pack and turning back to face the village proper as Sim disappeared over the horizon, he was greeted with the sight of two dozen villagers, all of various ages, armed with the motliest collection of weapons and armor he had ever seen in his life. Unable to keep from cracking a smile, Ni-Ju raised his hands above his head and called out in a pleasant tone of voice "I come in peace!" jokingly. Judging from the poleaxed look on the villagers faces, this was clearly not what they had expected to happen when a giant bird had come sailing its way over their remote little village. Talking it over amongst themselves in the same manner that chickens usually reserved for fighting over bits of corn, they bickered back and forth for several minutes before grudgingly coming to a decision. Without a word to Ni-Ju in explanation for the strange act of unwelcomeness, the villagers returned back to their homes as if nothing had happened. Out of immediate danger, Ni-Ju took a seat against the rough wooden planking of the wall to wait for the arrival of his partner Kihia before going in search of the tavern that was to be their charge. After all it would be just rude to leave him behind.

For a moment there was nothing but the gentle sounds of nature in the mountains, birds could be heard chirping and a few bells could be heard from the Mountain Village. One can easily fall asleep in this terrain if they simply laid back and relaxed. However the next thing someone would hear is a loud rumble coming from along the valley walls, followed by another equally loud rumble, something was indeed approaching, however if it was friend or foe no one but its rider possibly knew. Then a gigantic scaled head popped from around the bend with another loud rumble, every large and lumbering step it took shook the entire ground and reverberated the same rumbling sound. Far away, if you didn’t have binoculars of some kind you wouldn’t be able to see the white spec of a mage sitting on the monsters giant brow, however if you could make out his face, you could possibly see the faintest signs of amusement.
“You See my boy? Nothing beats a good walk across the country side! This is the way to get anywhere, you don’t need to be in any tin can to do that for you!” Ukan said this in a cheerful rumbling sound, however Kihia sighed and simply shook his head, “This may be amusing Ukan, but how much destruction have you left in your wake as a result?” Ukan kept on walking accidentally stepping on an long abandoned shack with a resounding rumble, “Ermmm I would rather not answer that question Kihia, although you do make a valid point I suppose… But what can I do? It isn’t my fault I am naturally this large is it?” Kihia simply chuckled, although he had only recently met the giant ancient Wyvern, he did get its form of humor. They both remained Silent however has Ukan started to make the last few steps to make it to the village. As he got close and closer his gargantuan head would cover the horizon of the ridge as he stopped with his forelegs a ten meters from the edge of the village, his imposing size casting a rather large shadow across the entire Village, “Humans and their small villages, I must say that is something I will never understand,”

The shadow cast by Ukan might only have been a small portion of the Mountain Village’s worries. The day was bright and the temperature up above was cool as a breeze carried away bother although the big orange bigot that was high in the sky couldn’t burn quite hot enough to match. Now that I got your attention in the right place, keep staring at the sky, there’s something you need to see that will change your perception of reality for a long time will make your graces. A single twinkle of light that shined just above the clouds. Taking a closer look at the anomaly, we find that the primary cause of the tiny light in the sky, was an even smaller kid, a mage from Lamia Scale whose preferred method of travel Was yet to be perfected but had the perfect effectiveness and style. Soaring through the air at incredible speeds, Xavier had almost arrived at his destination, when once again he approached the only flaw in his “perfect” plan. He had no landing gear, and he was miles high, quite literally. Losing momentum, he began to plummet, feeling the error of his ways once more and considering the fact he probably should find a better way to fly, for lack of better description. While contemplating this, he found himself colliding with something much higher up than the ground, a mountain. He tried to clutch desperately to whatever cliff edge to collided with but the shock of the impact was too jarring for him to complete any of his thoughts. He hit hard against the mountainside, grunting a bit and found that he could easily tumble down the rest of the ride, not by choice of course. The rest of the ride was very painful and not exactly necessary to describe, but the important part is that he finally arrived, in the valley with his two guild mates, and the last member of his team he had to meet. He dusted himself off after he was finally able to get to his feet, straightened out his new jacket to make sure his star emblem wasn’t damaged or missing. His hair was unkempt and dirty after all of that but he had a harder time attempting to straighten that out. Whatever, he made enough of a scene. Proceeding towards the village, and finding Ukan the giant…. Monstrous thing out front wasn’t exactly the most welcoming site in the world. “Um… hey… guys…”

Ni-Ju watched in awe as a creature easily matching the size of Sim made it's way unhurriedly towards the village from the northeast, crushing anything unfortunate enough to be caught in it's path. Clenching his low hanging jaw shut, Ni-Ju summoned his resolve and drew Balin; his yet untested firearm. The chances that his weapon would do anything more then annoy a beast of that size were slim to none. But maybe, with a little luck, he could draw it away from the village long enough for the people to get away. Dropping his pack and getting to his feet, Ni-Ju squared his shoulders towards the encroaching enemy and took aim.
The entire village at this point was in an uproar. People fleeing through the streets carrying whatever could be grabbed in the spur of the moment. Several shouts pertaining to curses were heard from the mouth of the village's elderly priest as he whipped up his horses, nearly running over a young man who had made the untimely error of stumbling into his path. One rather enterprising fellow had taken advantage of the milling crowds of people heading for the exits and was standing in the village square hawking good luck charms to anyone gullible enough to stop and listen.
Any plans to distract the ancient wyvern were immediately dismissed as the huge creature came to a stop a mere thirty feet from the town's gate. Ni-Ju eyed the thick protective plates that covered the creature with an appreciative stare. This was truly not a beast to anger lightly. As he stood awaiting some sign of the creature's intentions before proceeding with what could, more than likely be his last act, Ni-Ju found himself distracted as an object dropped out of the sky. Plunging into the side of the mountain at a cringe worthy speed, the object rolled for quite a long distance before coming to a stop on a hill a short distance from where Ni-Ju stood. Getting to it's feet and dusting itself off, the object was revealed to to be a very disheveled looking Xavier. Ni-Ju,at a loss for what to do in the current situation, gave a absent wave in greeting towards his arriving team mate and turned his attention back to the behemoth that literally stood before the gates. An amusing thought suddenly wormed it's way through his brain and, embarrassingly enough, he was unable to keep from blurting it out. "Please tell me you are a vegetarian!".

Kihia and Ukan watched as a figure came flying out of the skies and crashed down the side of the mountain, eventually coming to a stop at a point between them and village itself. Kihia glanced down at Ukan, whom started to kneel down to check on Xavier, that’s when he heard Ni-ju’s exclamation, which then caused Ukan to pause for a moment, and then burst out laughing a full hearty laugh the shook his massive frame. After a moment Kihia quickly disembarked from the Frost Wyvern and skillfully climbed down Ukans head and neck before landing back on the ground not too far off from Xavier and Ni-ju, he took a moment to get used to the bellowing laughs of Ukan before walking forward, “Hello there Ni-Ju and Xavier… to properly introduce him… our rather large companion is Ukan, a Frost Wyvern from the north… he is a trusted ally and won’t eat anyone… it just take time to get used to his… humor…” Kihia then looked back at Ukan who was finally settling down, “If you are done scaring every poor soul Ukan, I think it’s best for you to shrink down to a more manageable size…” Ukan chuckled a little bit more, “I suppose you be right about that idea Kihia!” He then started to glow and shrink down, and continued to do so until he was the size of an English bulldog.
After a moment Ukan walked up the ridge and sat down right next to Xavier and Ni-ju, trying to show an outward appearance of extreme restraint and professionalism, but Kihia knew that was anything but what he was thinking about. Kihia looked at the Wyvern and simply shook his head, he walked up and bowed to his companions in the form of a formal apology. Kihia then heard various clanking and rustling coming from the direction of the village. He turned to look at the village and what he saw made his right eyebrow twitch in embarrassment, there before them stood about ten men, each holding either a pitchfork or a spear, was pointed straight at Kihia and Ukan, “I can assure you… we come to help…” at this, Ukan let out a chuckle.

Xavier not entirely sure what just happened in front of him blinked a few times as he glazed upon some gigantic beast of a creature that somehow seemed to speak to people without an actual mouth, or at the very least it only appeared that he didn’t have a mouth. “A frost…. Wyvern!?” Xavier was just as startled to hear what it was as he was to see it initially. He was almost certain that wyverns and most beasts he’s ever read about in myths were, well simply that, a myth. He just sat a moment mouth agape. And as he was about to step forward, and touch the creature when it seemingly used magic to shrink itself, a spearhead sliced through his hair and pointed straight at his friends. Honestly it was a little hard to tell if he was more pissed about his hair or that his friends were being threatened by lowly tribesmen such as themselves. He was tempted to hut them, but he simply shouldered his anger, took a deep breath and pushed the spear away gently, and watched red in the face as a lock of his fair gently settled on the ground.
Tensing up it was pretty obvious that he really wanted to punch the man closest to him whom appeared to a younger man of the group, and taking point in front of his fellow villagers to protect them from these dangerous intruders. It took all of Xavier’s will not to beat this guy senseless. “A man’s hair is his pride…” Which was an odd things to say considering Xavier was only a boy and always let it flow so wildly and untamed. “…and if you dare to trifle its stature, I’ll wring your scrawny little neck!” He took his glasses off the peak of his nose, and folded them carefully and stared the group of them in the eyes. He looked pretty damn serious, and a few of the people at the rear of the mob when lightning cracked between his hands like the reactor of a mad scientist. “So if you’d kindly leave…” he didn’t bother to say anything else, but he knew those who understood the threat would take them a bit more seriously.

Ni-Ju watched as the rag tag group of village militia that had come began dispersing as Xavier vented his anger on the man who had thrown his spear. Not that he could really blame these men that much. In their defense, today had probably been the most frightening day anyone in these parts had witnessed in person and the four of them weren't exactly normal everyday travelers. Ni-Ju began swearing under his breath and mentally crossing plans off his list as he realized that by now there was no way in all of existance that the three wizards wouldn't be known by every man woman and child in the village by evening and he didn't even want to think about what kind of horrid rumors were now flying about Sim and Ukan. Regaining his composure quickly , Ni-Ju took a deep breathe and gestured for the others to follow.
Flying over the village had given Ni-Ju a rough idea of where the tavern was and with just a few small bungles along the way they found themselves standing in front of it. The tavern itself honestly wasn't that much to look at except for its large size. But if one were to take nothing but size into the equation then "Will's Brewhouse" had to number in among the greatest in the area. The sprawling two story building dominated it's surroundings, easily being twice the size of it's closest neighbours. Stepping through the swinging wooden doors slightly ahead of the others, Ni-Ju had the honor of being the first of them to be greeted by the tavern's namesake. As he cleared the doors proper, Ni-Ju found himself staring down the barrel of an old pump action shotgun that stood remarkably close to his right eye. Trying very carefully not to make any sudden movements that might be deemed threatening, Ni-Ju slowly turned his right hand over exposing the bright green guild symbol emblazoned on his wrist. Staring at it for a near full minute before moving his weapon, the bartender seemed to make up his mind and gestured wordlessly for everyone to move further inside before closing a cleverly designed inner door over the entrance and turning back to face the wizards.

Kihia gently patted Xaviers shoulder as he then stepped forward right after the spear had been thrown, he had his eyes closed, then after a moment he opened them, causing the air to get a bit chilly around himself, “Listen well… We have come to help your village against bandits who will run through it just for your prized commodity…. We will help you… but I will warn you now…” As he said those last few words the magic pressure around Kihia increased just enough that an aura of whitish blue light emanated from his head and shoulders, “If anyone of you harm either of my companions… you will have to answer to me… hurt me if you must but do not… hurt them…” After he said this, a minute passed and he stopped releasing the magical pressure he had been gently releasing out. At this all of the villagers withdrew their weapons and took a step back opening a path, he then saw Ni-ju walk past him and motion for them to follow.
Kihia would wait for Xavier to go before him and then looked at Ukan, and said, “ Please don’t cause any trouble Ukan… I know it is hard… but for their sake… don’t” Ukan sat there solemnly for a moment then nodded, “I will not cause any more trouble Kihia… I apologize for causing a scene and nearly causing on of our comrades to get hurt…” Kihia then started follow his companions into town with Ukan walking close behind him. He followed his companions through the town, getting lost with them every now and then but eventually arriving at their destination. The owner came out with a shotgun and aimed it at Ni-ju’s head, which made Kihia completely tense, he then took off his trenchcoat for a moment and slide down his left arms armor to reveal his own rarely seen Lamia Scale Tattoo, after a moment he returned both articles to their proper place on himself and walked in, but not before turning to Ukan, “Wait out here and keep watch, you will probably be able to get a good jump on the enemy as they come…” at the Ukan grunted and then jumped into a nearby empty barrel At which, Kihia to walked inside.

This mission was already starting out great, everyone was in a terrible mood and by some ungodly miracle they managed to piss of the people of the village by existing. Xavier was rather sullen after his “pride” was marginally sliced. “I need some action to get my mind off of this crap…” he complained as he ran his fingers through his hair, feeling the shortened length of one particular spike in his hair. He kicked stones as they walked, trying to think of other things, when he then heard the sound of a shotgun being pumped and then afterwards, an object of the sort practically being shoved into Ni-Ju’s mouth like it was a joke, and Kihia was quick to intervene once again. He was oddly disturbed by today’s events, it wasn’t like him and it really bothered Xavier inside. Showing off his Lamia Scale tattoo seemed to get he gun toting man to back off and he made his way through commanding Ukan as he did so. Perhaps they would have a better handle on the situation from this point forward. He stepped inside behind Kihia without thinking ahead.
The men inside, were… well their hygiene was little to be spoken of, and if there’s anything that really bothers Xavier more than pricks and the lack of food it’s poor hygiene. He carefully averted his gaze from the men drinking themselves under the table and proceeded straight to the bar to talk with the man he could only presume posted up the job. Xavier whom tried his best not to look at anyone unfamiliar failed to notice the two shady gentlemen sitting in the back of the room, hardly drinking a thing, their mugs were nearly full. Reaching the counter, Xavier climbed halfway up the bar stool so he could see the man serving the drinks. “So, I presume you’re the one who requested some protection? I don’t exactly blame you, you’ve gather quite the crowd and it’s not even into the late hours yet. You must have something rather potent in stock here, considering that and your over-zealous bouncer.” He said gesturing over his shoulder to the man wielding the shotgun that he appeared to be polishing from whatever oils secreted from Ni-Ju’s face as if it made a difference.

Ni-Ju spaced out completely, thinking of how close a call that had been, as Xavier made his way across the room to what passed for a bar around these parts and inquired in his own rough fashion of the man pouring drinks whether he had been the one to post the job bill. As the bar man looked up from the glass he was polishing absentmindedly to answer, Ni-Ju put his personal feelings aside for later introspection and refocused his attention on the matter at hand. "Yeah I'm the one who needed help and with good reason. These bastids have already tried to sneak fellas in here three times this week! Three!! And the last time I had James here throw one of them out the bastid had the nerve to pull a gun and put a hole in one of ma tables!!." The Bar Man ranted, slurring his speech as he gestured to the man polishing his gun as he launched into a full tirade of the many woes that he had been subjected to while waiting for them to show up.
Crossing the space to join his compatriots at the bar, Ni-Ju couldn't help but notice out of the corner of his eye as two incredibly dubious looking gentleman conferred heatedly amongst themselves for a moment before pushing back their chairs and getting to their feet. Leaving full drinks at their table untouched, both men made for the door and exited quickly, casting sideways glances at the newly arrived mages the entire way. Deciding at once to bring it to everyone's attention in case he had been the only one to notice, Ni-Ju Interrupted the bar man's explanation through the simple expedient of clearing his throat loudly and hiked a thumb over his shoulder towards the door. "Pretty sure that those fellas that just left were up to some kind of trouble before we got here and just went to get help." Ni-Ju pointed out, loudly enough to carry over the whole room.
The room quite suddenly became near empty as the tavern's remaining customers fled the building in a hurry. The thought of rats deserting a sinking ship came to mind as they crowed through the front door. Ni-Ju drew Balin from under his coat and checked that the slide was free and clear. "Should be here anytime now if I judge the situation correctly.".

Kihia stood in the middle of the tavern as Ni-Ju talked with the barkeeper and kept one ear for a short time on the client and the rest on the crowd and the surroundings. Something didn’t feel right, although Kihia couldn’t put his figure on it. He then stood alert as all the patrons started to leave the Tavern, one after another, some leaving their drinks untouched on the tables they had been sitting, after the last patron left the room there was a deathly silence they seemingly fell on the tavern. Then suddenly, two men walked in, shakily at that. They were very clearly drunk, they both seemed to be wearing old run down robes that seemed to be cheap knockoffs of proper equipment for a mage. Kihia sensed the magical power coming from them, it wasn’t much, but it was sinister in nature. However the thing that concerned him the most was the irregular source of magic power seemingly waiting outside.
Kihia tried his best to act normal and avoid a fight and said, “May I help you two gentlemen…?” The two men stopped and squinted at Kihia trying to figure out what he was it seemed. “We are heeeere –hic- for some of thissss –hic- Taverns famous breeeew –hiccup-“ Kihia discreetly looked behind him and saw the bartender had reached under the bar and pulled out the rifle, of which kind he wasn’t sure only seeing the but of the rifle. “I am sorry but we were told the Tavern was closed… My companions and I were about to head out ourselves…” The drunk mage that had spoken up before grew a sour expression on his face, “Weeee –hic- don’t care –hic- Da boss wants the breeeew –hic- and da boss always getsss what he wantssss –hiccup-“ Kihia watched as both men started to raise there arms to do something, but before they could lift their hands even past their waist levels Kihia dashed forward and planted his right foot into the closer mans gut knocking him back into his companion and out the door, however there was no crashing sound as Kihia was expecting, but a small smack, sounding like flesh hitting bigger flesh.

With the delivery of that first kick from Kihia the mood in the bar was set rather quickly, but oddly enough people second to react weren’t of Lamia Scale. Diving into a roll, and dragging to a stop leaving tracks on the wooden floor with his trodden boots, the bouncer leveled his shotgun at the two men as a person from behind them shoved his way through the door. “You aren’t going to get it this time, Gragas!” The door frame cried for mercy as he pulled apart the entrance with his girth alone, and then some. The guy was a behemoth, with a long brown braided beard that was nearly the length of his body, just a few inches from the floor. He swiped his arm, and the bouncer was cast aside with such ease as if he were a gnat. The bouncer had fired off a shot accidently as he cringed from taking the blow and wasting ammo. The owner sitting behind the cover of his bar frantically loaded his rifle, and found that his haste only served to hinder his chance to make a difference as his rifle jammed and magazine freed itself, spilling bullets the clanged against the ground noisily and he swore like a sailor as he went to the floor to retrieve what he could.
Clearly the bar’s men had seen this gigantic man before, and whether or not that would play into their favor was yet to be seen, but it wasn’t working out so well seeing as how the bar’s defenses quickly crumbled. It was up to the mages to at least keep the few there at bay until the men they were protecting could get back on their feet and at the very least provide some covering fire. “Ni-Ju!” Xavier quickly called out to his compatriot, to form an impromptu plan. Xavier had a basic understanding of how his teammate’s magic worked so he only hoped that he would understand what he was suggesting when he nodded to him and cast his spell. “Static Charge α!” collected neatly in his hand, a ball of lightning. He wound up his arm like a pitcher in a baseball game, and let it rip through the air. He was hoping that Ni-Ju would catch on and detonate his attack just before it reached them, and give them an appetizer before they got to the main course.

Ni-Ju watched from beside the bar as Kihia responded to the arrival of what was sure to be the friends of the fellows who had left by attempting to diffuse the situation and asking them to leave peacefully. A few choice words and a sudden grabbing for weapons on their part put an end to that quickly and resulted in Kihia's foot being soundly planted in the torso of the drunk who had been closest, cannonballing him into his compatriot and sending both sailing through the door. The troubles that ailed this place were far from over as an incredibly large man, carrying an equally large shotgun, pushed his underlings aside and burst through the front door using his sheer bulk as if it were a battering ram.
The sudden destruction of the tavern's entrance had thrown Ni-Ju off a little and slowed any reaction he might have done to help as the bouncer was batted across the room, landing atop one of the tables which promptly decided that was the last straw and collapsed under his weight. Xavier on the other hand had watched as everything went down and instead of freezing had seemed to come up with a plan on the fly. "Ni-Ju!" Xavier called out,to get his attention. Ni-Ju had an inkling of what it was that Xavier intended and was confirmed correct as Xavier nodded to him, shouted the short incantation for his spell, and sent a ball of lightning whizzing through the air towards Gragas's face.
"Open your mouth and plug your ears!!!" Ni-Ju warned everyone, as he focused on the floating ball of energy and sent his magic spiraling through it's bonds. The resulting explosion broke every window in the building and shot Gragas, like a cork from a wine bottle, into the square beyond. "Sorry for the mess!!" Ni-Ju yelled towards the now crying bartender as he rushed through the dust caused by the explosion with his companions right beside him. The hulking mass that was Gragas had already regained his feet and was greedily draining the contents of a large cask into his mouth. Dropping the barrel at his feet and belching loudly, Gragas looked over the Lamia Scale mages with an appreciative stare. "Hired mages ehh? Never would have figured on the old skin flint payin guild prices." He grumbled, gesturing with his chin toward the tavern. "Well thins bein what they are an all, I'm guessin theres no way I could convince y'all to step aside?". The glares leveled his way by the three could have caused paint to peel. Without another word on the matter Gragas leveled his shotgun towards the mages and began firing.

Kihia watched as a gargantuan man barged into the tavern breaking down the front door frame. Before even Kihia could react the bouncer jumped into action, but he like the bartender quickly fell short of being able to do anything. Then Xavier and Ni-Ju both leaped into the fray, unleashing a rather powerful and destructive combination that sent Gragas flying outside and caused Kihia to have his ears ringing and pushed back a few feet. Kihia shook his head and waited a small moment to clear his ears, He then stepped outside confronting the two drunken men and Gragas who all were standing next to each other now. Suddenly Gragas motioned towards his men, “Go get em boys!” Both men unsteadily launched forward raising their fists towards Kihia and enveloping them in a dark energy.
However Kihia simply stood there and took the two punches that landed directly on his chest, however Kihia was unmoved, infact he barely even budged. Confused the men looked up wearily at Kihia’s face, and what they saw made their jaw drop, for the skin of Kihia’s face was covered by a flexible covering of white ice. “Frozen Angel’s Protection…” Kihia then reared back and spun around unleashing a powerful spinning kick onto the mens sides, sending them sprawling off to the side. A small shockwave of air also erupted from Kihia’s kick, however Gragas simply stood there the wind simply tussled his beard and hair.
For a moment the two stood there, a bit of brew running down Gragas’s chin, he then smirked and raised his rifle has a black magic circle appeared at the end of it, “Void Shot!” As he pulled a trigger a one foot wide orb of dark energy came out of the shot gun coming straight for Kihia. However Kihia once again simply stood there as the orb came closer, when suddenly the back of his trenchcoat glowed and a ice shield formed infront of him blocking the shot, which quickly expanded and pulled the ice shield apart and into the void of its sphere. Gragas grinned, as Kihia reacted with a frown, however before Gragas could pull the trigger of another shot, Kihia formed a small ball of energy in his right hand and tossed it towards Gragas, “Heavens Cryo Wave…”

The explosion was a good kick start to the real action that was just now underway. Xaiver followed his friends out leaving the other two men inside to govern themselves. Stepping out he could see Kihia standing and taking blows from all of these men like it was a joke, not bothering to move or counter them. He only cast one spell before dispatching the two weaker blokes as they tumbled off into the distance from his fierce kick. Then Gragas unloaded his spell onto the mage, and in response Kihia’s trench coat defended him. “Wow… Kihia spares no expense on clothing….” He muttered to himself, a little surprised at the tricks up his sleeve. Then he tried something Xavier wasn’t even sure he could estimate if he tried. The spell seemed to go right past him, as Grags moved to the side, but despite his speed, he found himself caught in a flash freeze. He didn't feel cold, oddly but everything behind him froze. Despite not being able to avoid, Gragas is extremely agile for his size.
Gragas was getting a little annoyed with Kihia after all of that, and he pumped his shot gun with a devious smirk on his face before calling out something else. “Have fun avoiding this one, boys!” His trigger finger must’ve been on fire, because the attack never seemed to end. “Hellfire Frenzy!” The bullets reigning from his gun were flaming purple streaks of fire racing through the air. A few of them managed to get through to the group before Xavier acting as quickly as he could vaulted over Kihia’s shoulder already channeling a spell and landed in a three point formation when it finally cast. “Static Curtain!” An electric fence (for all intents and purposes) seemed to rise between them and intercept the shots, but wasn’t going to last long. He had to prevent this prick from destroying the barrier, or at the least block until the last shot. But then he had a better idea. “Lightning Strike α!” Instantly Gragas was electrocuted from a bolt of lightning that struck without the need of a cloud, and he recoiled, staggering a for a second, just enough to end his volley of bullets, and with that, doing its best the curtain fell. Xavier got to his feet slowly, breathing hard. He had gone through a lot of his magic power in such a short time.

Ni-Ju watched silently as his compatriot mages gave a good account of themselves against both Gragas and the henchmen who had attempted to rob the tavern, the latter being beat to unconsciousness by a swift kick from Kihia and the former just managing to get his bearings again after taking a down right vicious lightning strike on Xavier's end. The prideful need to prove himself began to rear it's ugly head before he stamped out any such thoughts as being beneath what he was aspiring to be. Using anything bigger then a basic micro detonation would cause far more harm then help to the village anyway so such a thing would have to be saved for if everything went to the birds and no other choices presented themselves.
Grinning mischievously as an idea suddenly sprang to mind, Ni-Ju aimed Balin towards the right side of Gragas's chest and pulled the trigger. The powerful shot of exploding air caught the large man unaware and actually managed to knock him back a solid six inches as it tore through his overalls into his shoulder. Two more shots followed quickly, if a little less accurately, as Ni-Ju attempted to disarm the huge man who had taken it upon himself to cause so much trouble. His success was evident as Gragas's weapon slid from the fingers of his damaged right arm to clatter against the cobble stones.
Distracted by Gragas's falling shotgun for just a single moment, Ni-Ju failed to see the surprise that the huge wily mage had in store for him. Rushing directly for him with amazing speed, Gragas extended his left arm out and threw a small cask that brimmed with a writhing darkness directly at Ni-Ju's feet. The resulting explosion sent Ni-Ju spinning away through the air like a rag doll caught in a hurricane. Its kind of funny what goes through your head in such a moment. For Ni-Ju the sensation that he was flying brought a smile to his face. Unfortunately for him the flight proved to be quite short as he flew through the splintered remains of the tavern's doorway and bounced off the hard wooden floor several times before coming to a stop directly in front of the bar. Ni-Ju pulled himself to his feet unsteadily and motioned for the bartender to remain where he was. After all this was far from over.

Kihia frowned at the current situation, Xavier was pushing himself to the limit and Ni-Ju had been blown back from a magic infused barrel. Kihia then looked back at the barrel Ukan had been hiding in, “Ukan get Gragas out of the village!” After a moment receiving a confused expression from Gragas the barrel suddenly toppled over and Ukan rushed out of it still in his bulldog size. At the site of Ukan Gragas began to laugh, his entire body shaking with each bellow. However this was stopped short when Ukan rammed into Gragas, now twice the size of the man. Ukan scooped him onto his head and charged right out the gates of the Village. Kihia nodded towards Xavier and Ni-ju, “Rest if you need to then come…” At that Kihia nodded and rushed after Ukan.
Ukan got approximately twenty meters away from the village when Gragas managed to slide down and get his feet back on the ground. “My you’re a big fella now aint ya?” He snickered and then started to huff and puff and groan as he managed to stop Ukan’s charge by holding his ground, “But ya aint the biggest critter I have seen or thrown!” At this Gragas picked up Ukans massive bulk waited a moment then tossed the wyvern onto his side a few meters away from him, Kihia frowned when he saw this but kept charging with a high amount of speed. Before Gragas could even react Kihia reached back with his right fist as it began to glow, “Supreme fist of the…” At this he threw his fist forward punching Gragas’s stomach, “Frozen Angel!” A shockwave came out from the blow followed by a brief moment of stillness. When a giant blast of holy cryogenic magical power erupted from Kihias fist blowing Gragas back and enveloped him as well as length of the area.
After the smoke cleared Gragas could be seen on one knee moving to get up, “Well now that was a fancy move ye got there… but I bet ye weren’t expecting to have my entire brewery crew out here now did ya? Come on out Boys!”

Xavier wasn’t one to think negatively at usually any situation, however despite the fact that they had the guild’s only ace parading around with them and they still managed to get battered around like nothing. Well, except for Kihia obviously. Xavier was just lucky enough to have been behind everyone while everything occurred and have a defensive spell, but that certainly didn’t leave anything for Ni-Ju who was flung through the air by the force of an exploding barrel. Xavier slapped himself in the face. “Wake up, jerk! Your friend needs you.” He couldn’t seem to wake from his daze, and realized he shouldn’t just be standing around when all of this is going on. Kihia shared his parting words, and Xavier was already on his way to check on Ni-Ju. He walked into the bar to find that Ni-Ju was already on his feet, and felt a little better about himself. “Come on, we need to back Kihia up.” He waved to his teammate, and couldn’t help but notice the bouncer was up on his feet too and looked like he was ready to go. “You can come if you want to.”
From behind Gragas, slowly after he toppled Ukan to the ground his men seemed to realize what happened, and sprung an ambush upon Kihia, surrounding his front with hired guns who all leveled their weapons at the ice mage, followed behind by some mages who already seemed to be casting some sort of spell in unison that formed a magic circle beneath Kihia’s feet. Gragas himself stepped back as he let two men he seemed to value take the front That from their obvious appearance looked like they were much more skilled than the others. “Well, I’m not one for famous goodbye speeches and what-not, but I feel like this is goodbye, Ice dude. It was nice knowing you while… eh’ not really.” Gragas held up his fist, and presumably would drop it to signal when they unload onto Kihia. Judging from the spell being cast at Kihia’s feet one could assume that they planned on rooting him to that very spot so he has to endure all of the attacks.

Ni-Ju stopped for a moment to regain his breath and figure out what was going on as he staggered out of the town gate, following after Xavier as quickly as his wounds would allow. The sight that greeted Ni-Ju as he took a place beside Xavier was not a pretty one. Ukan lay upon the ground unmoving and Kihia stood within the center of a gathering vortex of energies that was being formed by the combined might of several of Gragas's beer swilling compatriots while the others gathered around him like vultures. Despite how terrible the situation looked a feeling of peace washed over Ni-Ju, bringing the scene into startling clarity before his eyes. Which strangely enough to onlookers began to glow with the color of newly fired gold. The actions of Gragas and his men suddenly stood out clear as day, each of their movements matching Ni-Ju's mental image perfectly. A small twinge of guilt intruded on Ni-Ju's peaceful state, staying his hand for a bare second before flashes of what these men were willing to do to both him and his friends in order to accomplish their goals hit him. Without knowing quite how, Ni-Ju felt absolutely sure that what he had seen would happen should nothing intervene.
Still gripped by the visions of what would be and unwilling to let such such terrible things happen, Ni-Ju dove in to begin his counter assault against their would be murderers. Firing Balin at the ground in what seemed a haphazard manner around Gragas's two highest henchmen served the dual purpose of both breaking the ground into pebble sized pieces and driving the duo back towards the others. Following up with astonishing speed and precision considering his injuries, Ni-Ju cast a micro water detonation at a flask hanging from the belt of the hindmost attacker that sent him and his buddies flying forward to join the two lieutenants and placed everyone exactly where Ni-Ju wanted them. With the bulk of enemies gathered together, Ni-Ju unleashed a series of macro detonations whose force was so great that for the briefest of seconds it was actually heard in the capital.
Awful description on my part.

Kihia watched simply standing there as one event happened after another, all of Gragas’s men were about to unleash an onslaught of spells and attacks onto Kihia but were suddenly halted by a flurry of attacks from Ni-Ju and followed up with a spell that blew apart the entire ground, including the ground Kihia was standing on.
Ukan was knocked outside the blast radius, however he looked towards the giant flash of light in concern. However, after a few moments the light faded revealing what had become of the ice mage, however instead of a crater and him on the ground there was a ten meter wide sphere of ice that encompassed the spot Kihia had been standing. Causing Gragas and his men, who were having trouble getting up from Ni-ju's onslaught, to look at it in confusion. “What in the world happened?...” Little did Gragas or anyone else no, Kihia used a inherited ability, to freeze all spells within five meters of him, however since Ni-Ju’s spell was bigger than 10 meters wide… well lets just say he did what he could.
The ice sphere started to shake out of nowhere, before multiple cracks started to form all around it, when suddenly it shattered into hundreds of pieces that started to seemingly orbit the ice mage who had adopted a wide fighting stance at the epicenter. He stood there seemingly unshaken, “Good work Ni-ju… becareful of your aim next time…” He then looked hard at Gragas when he started to seemingly take a deep breath sucking in all the shards of ice as he consumed the lot of it. After he was done he wiped his chin with his right hand and nodded. “But it was a good chance for a meal… that I thank you for…” He then turned back to Gragas who was seemingly becoming increasingly annoyed, “Get them!” Kihia shook his head at this and then reared back his right fist as it began to glow again and threw it towards a direction of five enemies, another powerful blast of magical power erupted, as a few of the injured enemies started to charge at Kihia.

For a moment Xavier was frozen from the view he had of the whole situation, firstly Kihia caught in a situation that from the looks of he had entirely under and it wasn’t exactly sure why he was worried to begin with. Then it all evolved into something else the moment Ni-Ju overtook him while rushing in to assist Kihia, which promptly following his arrival set off an explosion with winds fierce enough to lift him off of his feet. He ripped his two hanbo from their appropriate holsters, and stabbed them deep into the dirt to hold his ground momentarily. After the deafening explosion he sighed, and looked at each one. “I knew there was a reason I still kept you around." He got to his feet dusting himself off, and rushed further uphill only to notice once again… everything changed and somehow Kihia used all of the chaos to provide himself with a boost of energy via a tasty snack. Astonished first at how awesome his friend looked floating and preparing to kick some serious behind, secondly with Ni-Ju’s sudden explosion, and thirdly with how useless he felt in comparison.
He pinched his nose in exasperation for some reason feeling disgusted with himself, and he could feel his blood heat up but he had no real reason to be mad. He pulled his glasses off and with that, there was no going back. “Alright, alright! You’ve had your fun guys. Now quit showin’ off and let me demonstrate how this is really taken care of!” Reaching for the cloth wrapped item on his back, he pulled the sheeting off of his weapon aptly named “Tesla Coil” and discarded the cloth on the ground. The staff cracked with energy when it was removed, levitating just in front of him. Dramatically he snatched it out of the air, spun it in front of him, around his torso, and over his head before slamming it down into the ground. His body changing into electricity, moving too fast to see he re-materialized behind Gragas whom was overlooking the present situation in fear. However, Xavier wasn’t alone, two more ghostly figures the exact size and shape of the kid (even the same wild hair) stood at the ready, one with a war hammer and the other a rocket launcher of sorts. “Gragas!! Thunderpunch!!” running up to the lard as he turned around to face the kid, Xavier uppercut him from his gut while his two friends got airborne. Flipping acrobatically, the hammer wielding figure his Gragas with the crushing weight of the hammer and he fell to the ground like a sack of potatoes, while the gun toting one fired upon Xavier, Gragas and some of his men below. All three of them landed in a three point formation a short distance away, Xavier rather battered.

Upon getting back to his feet, Ni-Ju was too amazed at his own stupidity to do anything other then stare, slack jawed, in awe as Kihia not only survived his ill placed explosions but actually managed to turn them to his benefit in the form of a broken ice dome turned large icy snack. Kihia then turned his head toward Ni-Ju and called out something that he couldn't quite make out over the ringing in his ears before turning back to face Gragas. Xavier proved quicker to recover then Ni-Ju, using his magic to cross the distance between himself and Gragas in the blink of an eye and unleash a devastating three part combo with the help of his ghost like counterparts. The sheer ferocity that this fight had produced among the Lamia Scale wizards was something frightening to behold. Kihia stood resplendent as a human fortress of a man, practically aglow with power, and Xavier's speed and acrobatics were something that was well and truly one of a kind. Standing there covered in dust with blood poring from one nostril, Ni-Ju had a sudden revelation. These two men who had stood and fought beside him were the friends he had always hoped to one day have. Brave, honest fellows, who would give their lives if need be to protect what was important to them. Awash with a newly growing determination to prove himself worthy of their friendship, Ni-Ju crouched down with Balin held in both hands and began rattling off a series of shots towards the remaining enemies to help keep them off guard.
Preoccupied with shooting as accurately as possible,Ni-Ju failed to notice as one of the henchmen that he had taken for unconscious or dead crawled into place behind him and pushed the barrel of a small caliber pistol directly against where his spine would be. "Listen closely you little freak or I empty this thing into you and take my chances with running away from your buddy's. You are going to come with me for just a little bit and if you're good I just might..." That was as far as he got before Ni-Ju squirmed out of the way and grabbed the man's arm. Following by wrapping his legs around the same arm, Ni-Ju locked them in placed. Wrenching around with all of his weight behind it he could hear as the henchmen's arm gave with a sickening "Crack!!!". As his foe's eyes rolled into the back of his head, Ni-Ju rolled off of him and regained his fallen weapon to continue with his support.
