Silence is Splendid (Serena's Intro)

Footsteps echoed as Serena went up the marble steps towards the guild hall, about to make her entrance. She wasn't sure if this would be the best decision however, joining a guild, but then, she needed a source of income and trust from her clients. With a deep breath, she pushed aside the large doors that led her to a different place, different from her seclusive and isolated world she had spent so long in. The moment she looked up, she saw various people, some mages, other scholars but she knew they were all looking at her, attention caused by the sudden entry she made.

Serena swallowed a lump in her throat, she wasn't used to this many people looking at her all at once. She immediately pulled up her shawl and glanced behind her to see Astrid, her pet lion following behind her and with a swift motion, she scooped up the lion cub into her arms to give her some sort of courage and a feel of confidence, even if it's a little. After seeing that it was only someone entering though, it appeared everyone had turned back to doing their own things, allowing herself to quietly enter and look for the guild master to officially join this guild. Question though, she wasn't sure if this was the right one.

"Hn...I wonder if I would be able to feel comfortable here," she thought to herself as she silently walked past the crowds of people, her presence forgotten in a flash, a skill that she had taught herself to avoid unwanted notice. However, she knew that she would have to make companions sometime soon, when though, she wouldn't know yet. Her pet Astrid then let a silent purr as it snuggled up in her arms, strengthening her resolve to officially join a guild and be a part of it. Hopefully, she would be able to meet someone who would be kind enough to help her also depending on whether Serena herself would be willing to accept help from others.

Serena stepped back a little, slightly surprised that someone had actually sensed her presence. She was sure she had hid it perfectly well. One thing she knew from her first impression on this crimson-eyed male was that he clearly was no ordinary mage. She cleared her throat a little and spoke.
"Yes I am," she replied briefly, not interested in going onto more detail on her arrival. She just wanted to become an official member quickly and then leave as quickly as she came. However, she figured that things wouldn't be finishing faster than she thought and would probably take some time. Quietly, she diverted her attention to the guild hall's decor, her left hand holding onto her shawl, her right cuddling Astrid to her chest in order not to let it fall. As much as she could let the lion roam free, she wasn't going to have another addition to the large amount of people packed in one place. Being at the back was probably the best choice at the moment, since it clearly had a lot less people situated behind. She wondered why, considering that the guild hall appeared the same to her no matter what, though it did have a nicer view up front, she guessed.

Serena's attention went back to the male who had spoke up again. "I apologise for my...rudeness I guess. Yes, I'd like you to show me around," she replied, saying the most she ever had said this entire day. The person in front of her seemed friendly and tolerable enough so there was no need to decline. She wanted to get things done as quickly as she could anyways. After all the formalities were done, she was going to have to find a place to stay, which would probably be included in the list of things to do before taking a good rest. She also had a feeling that she was probably going to end up staying in the guild dorms for the mean time until she makes enough money to rent a flat or house of her own. Serena made a mental note to do as many jobs as possible to raise money quicker, or perhaps, work part-time somewhere else as well.

Ayeseru nodded.  "Alright, then.  Follow me!"  Ayeseru began walking ahead, hoping that the woman behind him wouldn't suddenly divert her attention for too long away from him and hide within the crowd.  By now, her scent had practically blended in with the others, so he would have a tough time finding her a second time.  Come to think of it...  Ayeseru hadn't really bothered to look around his guild, either, but did know the basic layout.  Regardless, it'd be a new experience, even for him.  The young mage couldn't help but pause for half a second when he passed the giant statue that was at the end of the guild hall; Ayeseru never knew who the person in the statue was, but he always held a great deal of respect for that said person, for no known reason.  He took the passageway left of the statue, and began walking down it, straight towards the Guild Master's room.  He walked in silence, unsure how to make conversation with the peculair woman that he was escorting.

They quickly reached the end of the hall, and were greeted by a set of stairs.  They had to go up a story and walk straight forward in order to reach the door of the Guild Master, Shuhei.  When they arrived, Ayeseru stopped, and would turn around to face the woman.  "Remember what I said earlier about showing you the guild?  Yeah, well, I'm going to, but I'd like you to decide now, actually, whether or not you'll join us."  The Fallen God Slayer sighed at his own idiocy.  "I know what I said, and I do apologize for this sudden...  Change."

Ayeseru opened the door, only to find no one present.  It would appear as though Shuhei was out, which meant that Ayeseru should probably be the one initiating her.  "...I can make you a member, if you'd like, since our Guild Master is not here at this present time." He really wasn't that great with people he recently meets, huh? Either way, he'd wait for her answer.

Serena had managed to keep up with the male, slipping past the vast amounts of people and stopped immediately when the person in front of her stopped and asked her a question. "Yes, I pretty much have made up my mind," she replied. Her tone didn't really sound that assuring or confident in any way, having more of a laid back tone to it, but nonetheless, she had made up her mind, more or less. When the person mentioned making her a member, she blinked for a second, a little surprised that probably anyone who's a guild member could officially declare someone a new member. She figured she had a lot to understand about guilds and that she should spend some time learning more about the other rival guilds as well. Now when she thought about it, she never really understood the purpose of having so many guilds of different names when they could just create branches. Then again, she sort of came to the conclusion that it was in a way something like businesses, different way of managing, same objective. Mankind sure was strange, throughout her entire period of trying to learn more about the social civilisation.
