Job Location: Hargeon Town, lower docks
Job Description: There has recently been a string of murders in the lower docks of Hargeon Town. The town guard launch a sting operation and lost one of their own, proving that the killer was one Jacob Goodnight, a local miner who was always a bit off. The guard has issued a bounty for Jacob, asking he be brought in, or down, before he can kill again.

Boss: Jacon Goodnight. Spoiler:Standing at six and a half feet tall and over three hundred and fifty pounds, Jacob goodnight is a former miner from Hargeon. His father was a butcher, and Jacob has taken up the tools of his fathers trade for his killing, a large meat cleaver, a carving knife, and a nasty meat hook on a chain to be precise. He has no magic but is incredibly strong, frighteningly brutal, and worst of all, smarter than many give him credit for.

Reward: 2000 jewels for alive, 1000 for dead, as well as the gratitude of the town guard.

The sun had just set as Sheba arrived at Hargeon Town. She looked at the job paper in her hand. She was supposed to either capture or kill a murderer named Jacob Goodnight. This wasn't the first time facing a murderer though. She killed one when she was a child. She watched as the moon rose over the horizon. It wasn't a full moon but still good enough.

She met up with the town's guard. Sheba learned more about this man. His father was a butcher and he had taken a meat cleaver, a carving knife and a meat hook. However, she had also learned that he sometimes abducted women to rape them before he killed them. She hated men like that but was willing to take this job still.

She stood at the dock of the town where Jacob was rumored to hang out. It was dark and she could hardly see. Sheba drew in her magic and made her body glow. That was much better. The cold air chilled her skin and the thin, black dress offered almost no warmth at all. She looked admirably at the sky, the stars were shining and the cresent moon was glowing dimly. She wanted to take out her telescope and record the stars but then she had a job. Then she had a bright idea, she took out her telescope and notebook at pointed it at the stars. She didn't want to attract attention so she let go of the magic. Now she looked like a helpless stargazer. This should help attract him.

Sheba enjoyed stargazing so much she almost forgot about the job. She felt a tap on her shoulder. She looked back to find a man staring at her. "Excuse me," he asked. "I'm new around here and I am lost. May you, and you alone, please help me find the inn here? I can invite you in my room as well if you come with me"

"Ask someone else." She said gruffly. "Can't you see I'm busy. Besides, I don't trust men like you."

 An expression of surprise shot through his facial feature. "Excuse me? Are you turning a good-looking man like me?"

 Sheba rolled her eyes, this man was not only ugly but very vain. "Yes I am. Now go away."

"What if I don't go away?" He was angry now.

"Then I will." Sheba stood up and stuffed her notebook and telescope down her backpack and began to leave. When she turned back to the man he was holding a meat cleaver.

"Wrong answer, girly." She recognized him. He was Jacob Goodnight from the job and he wanted to kill her.

He immediately charged at her. Time seemed to slow down. Her brain registered that obviously he was big. And as they say, The bigger they are the harder they fall. She merely stepped to the side and moved her leg in front of him. He tripped, falling over the dock and into the water. It was almost comical watching that happen. When he resurfaced, he was all wet, shivering, and pink. "You're dead girly."

He climbed out the water and produced at large meat hook. Sheba put a palm to the sky as the moonlight gathered on her palm in a silver ball. "Moon Blast!" She yelled. Jacob suprised by the fact that she could use magic flinched for a second and  then tried to move away from the incoming light, but the light hit his right arm making him drop the meat hook. He growled as he picked up the hook with his left hand and threw it at her. It grazed her cheek, leaving a scratch. She smirked, "Goodnight, Jacob Goodnight."

Jacob smiled, and then started laughing. "You, a puny little girl, kill me? Don't make me laugh. You may be a mage, you may put my dominate hand out of commission, but women can never kill me."

Rage burned through Sheba. "Don't underestimate me. I may be a girl, but I killed a man like you before. Besides, who said anything about killing? I won't get 2000 jewels if I kill you." She ran backwards away from, Jacob. She needed distance from him if she were to cast the next spell.

"What? You scared girly?" He yelled chasing after her. He may be big and strong but he was pretty fast. She bit her lip as she stopped. The man produced his final weapon a meat carver. He was catching up pretty fast. It was now or never.


Sheba ran for cover in a dark alley way. She stopped running and extended her arms. "Moonlight Rain." A white ball immediately formed between her hands growing in size. It would be hard to miss the bright ball. Jacob Goodnight found her immediately.

"You're dead girly." He said once again. He lunged towards her but the ball in her hand exploded, raining down white light. The light seared their skin as if it was poision, but Sheba was used to the pain. Jacob wasn't though. He screamed as he fell to the ground. In a last ditch effort he threw the knife as he fell. It cut through her dress and sliced her side but there was too much adreneline corsing through her veins. and hit the wall.

Sheba picked up the knife and inspected it. It was was a razor sharp knife that had cut through many slabs of meat, from animal and humans alike. The blood had rusted it. She bit her lip, getting cut by a rusty object can cause infection. She needed to visit a doctor to prevent tetanus later. She walked over to the man who was still screaming from the pain. "Here's your knife back." She plunged it down.

The knife hit the ground, shattering into two pieces. The man opened his eyes. "You won't kill me?"
He said gruffly. 


"How will I get my 2000 jewels if I kill you. Besides, I don't like killing humans unless absolutely nesscary." Sheba answered as she walked away from him. She was at the opening of the of the alleyway when she turned around. She caught the man by the wrist. He managed to overcome the pain of the Moonlight Rain which was still raining down. In his hand, was the meat hook that he early threw at her. She plucked it out of his hand and threw it out of range. She punched him at his jaw which surprised him. "Tell me, why do you kill."

"Since you fight well, for a girl at least. I'll tell you." He grins and elbows Sheba in the nose. Blood  immediately pours down. She puts one hand on her nose as she slaps him with her other. "Why do people read? Why do people sing? Why do you enjoy star-gazing? I kill because I enjoy it." 

"You are one messed up individual Goodnight." Sheba dodges his next blow and kicks him in the sweet spot. He screams as he falls down.

"I kill so I can forget my past." He coughs up blood as Sheba kicks his chest.

Sheba then said, "Jacob Goodnight. For many weeks you have killed countless of innocent citizens. Tonight, your reign of terror ends." She watches as Jacob's hand inches towards the broken shards of the knife. "Moonlight Blast!" She whispers. The silver light gathers on her palm as it shoots towards the man's hand, crippling that arm too. He screams in pain as he stares at her with hatred.
She walks towards him until she is standing less than an inch from his face.

He spat at her feet but she ignored him. "You think this is over? You think you have won girly? I'll escape prison one day. When I do I will kill you and your loved ones in ways you will never be able to imagine."

Sheba merely raised an eyebrow at the remark as she kicked his face, knocking him out.

Sheba tied him up and dragged him to the nearest town guard headquarters. They were slightly surprised when they saw her dragging the limp body of the man. "Is he alive?" The guard asked just as Jacob began to stir.

"I'll have my revenge someday girly." He muttered.


The guards shrugged. "Well, you completed the job so I guess I have to give you your reward." He handed her a big bag of jewels. She thanked him and turned to the door.

"Enjoy your time in prison Goodnight. Your killing days are over." She waved goodbye to him. Sheba smiled, now the citizens of Hargeon Town were safe.
