Naoaki 'Toda' Hazune

Name: Not being native to the lands of Fiore the name of the foreigner seems to be rather odd to most. The first name being Naoaki, the last one being Hazune. So in short, the man's name is Naoaki Toda Hazune. Often going by Toda.

Gender: Well, both his physique and deep voice happen to point that most likely his gender is male. Although if you are not completely sure with that conclusion feel free to check yourself.

Age: Not old enough to be a hardened veteran, although old enough to be at least moderately experienced. He is at the age just above adulthood, twenty-five.

Birthday: Born on the Nineteenth of January.

Special Characteristics: Being as he is barely much to look at other than his foreign appearance, he has no kind of piercing, scarring, although he does indeed have a lot of tattoos.

Likes

• Books :: It's something about a good book that just gets Toda in a good mood. When he reads, it's like entering a whole ‘nother world that is so close, but at the same time so far away. Something that, until you read it, and it came to life before your eyes, you’d have never thought that it was possible to experience something like that. He likes to read stories, as well as things just for his own knowledge, ‘could be something from the his origin land, or anything from other lands from the beyond. Speaking of other lands, he tends to like books from the human world better, because they seem to have more of a creative base than the books found in the foreign knowledge. Most people there seemed grim, which is boring for Toda. I mean, who wants to hang out with a grim person that is just out of beat, a bore to be around, and overall just annoying? Not Toda, that’s who.
  
  
  
• Clouds :: When Toda sees a cloud moving along in the sky, it's just something about it that makes him want to stop and stare for a while. Just looking at the big puffy pillow of white nothingness in the sky that flows with the wind somehow connects with him. He sometimes wants to be like a cloud, moving along with the flow, without a care in the world, the feeling so relaxing that he could fall asleep on the wind’s arms. When he sees a dark cloud, it reminds him of when someone is depressed, even if something darkens up the sky, there is always something brighter than that. And eventually, the dark clouds you see now will be no more, shoveled to oblivion. Although, when he sees a large cloud in the sky, it reminds him of when someone, or something, is strong. And when a smaller cloud is in the way of the larger could, the larger cloud will absorb it, and the small one shall be of no more. It reminds him of life, his adaptation to the ‘survival of the fittest’ mentality.
  
  
  
• Competition:: Toda loves to show off his strength in any way he possibly can, be it in a fight, in a sport, or just doing it period. He doesn't mind if he shows his mental fortitude, or his physical strength. The feeling of giving someone the impression of being perfect is the best thing he can do, in his book. By doing something like this, it gives him more pride in his own abilities, and in the work that he does for himself, and others. Competition is just a means to show off; he doesn’t use it to test his strength in any way, shape, or form. By doing something as simple as this, his pride grows and grows into a slight arrogance. Arrogance, while not exactly a good thing, provides confidence to some degree, regardless if it’s faux confidence or real confidence.
  
  
  
• Strength:: The concept of strength is something Toda adores. If someone has this, then they are a god, unbeatable, they can live forever. He lives by strength, he believes that if someone dies, they died because they were not strong enough to keep on living, therefore he becomes stronger and stronger. But Toda does not only adore strength in a physical way- but a mental way as well. When someone is strong in the physical sense, they can push people around. When someone is strong in a mental sense, they can use their wit to manipulate people. But when someone is strong in both physique and intellect, they can overcome any obstacle, be it a roadblock, or another person.
  
  
  
• Taking His Time:: Toda is a perfectionist- he takes his time with his work so that he can perfect it. He hates it when he asks someone to do something, they do it, and they do it in a bad way, an ‘imperfect’ way. He sees it as if they do that, they are untrustworthy, and he should have just done the job himself in the end. Not only that, but the idea of 'taking his time' also comes in handy on jobs. It helps him focus on the problem at hand so that he can get the job done, and exterminate any and all targets he has without much of an issue. Then, it all ties around back to his ideology that the weak die, and the strong live on. And to live, you must become strong, and to become strong, you must take your time in everything you do.
  

Dislikes

• Noisy People :: One thing Toda absolutely hates with a passion is noisy people, people that are obnoxious that honestly just don't know when to shut the hell up, and know when someone doesn't feel like responding. Or, when someone tries to talk to another, but in the end they just find the other overbearing, and they won't stop. Honestly the only reason Toda has such a problem with noisy people is because they tend to be the type of people that talk way, way too much. Arrogance is a disgusting flaw in his eyes, but it is a hypocritical view, because he himself is partially arrogant. However, Toda has accepted that he has a disgusting flaw, but when you are too egotistical to see the truth, it comes down to either knowing, and not caring.
  
  
  
• Loud Places :: One thing that just grinds Toda's gears is when he finds a nice place to read outside, and then someone comes along and ruins it by making the place noisy. When someone disturbs him from sleeping, reading, or any of his other hobbies, he tends to want to get rid of the person. Not because they did anything wrong, just because they decided to come in on his own time, when he was not doing any work, and mess with him. It’s revoltingly annoying to him. But, when he is around a group of people that are nothing but loud, it gets on his nerves- it makes him just want to grab someone, and yell at them non-stop until they shut up, and all of them quiet down. Couldn’t they just let it go and relax? Maybe read a book? Hell, they could borrow one of Toda’s books, he has tons of them anyways.
  
  
  
• Whining:: When people whine, it drives Toda insane. Why can't they just do their job, and do it right? If they can't do their own job like someone asks, they shouldn't even bother to try and pride themselves on it, they should be stomped on, and left in the dirt. He grew up with the ideology that if someone of higher stature than yourself tells you to do something, you do it, you do it right, and you do it no matter what. Now that he is independent, not many people can ever tell him what to do, but he likes telling others what to do more than anything. This is because it shows that he has come far from where he started. Another part of whining he hates is that if you get it done, and get it done good, then it won't take long at all. He wants to be a winner, so something like whining is not in his dictionary, that’s the attitude of a quitter, and someone who when faced with a challenge, cannot overcome it. Whining is the causation of all failure, in Toda’s eyes.
  
  
  
• Gossip:: Getting onto one of the most abstract things that Toda dislikes. Such a thing is gossip. It’s drama- while it’s something that any community has an abundance of- be it the home of his ancestors, or be it the planet Gordorf in the Third Dildo Galaxy -Gossip is a means used to make others feel better about themselves, by taking advantage of another’s actions in society. Whether the concept of ‘actions’ means they did something in a wrong way, or they did something wrong in a moral way is completely obscure. And as gossip does much more harm than good, it is something that Toda abhors to the maximum. He enforces confrontation, not spreading rumors behind the backs of those at hand.
  
  
  
• Weakness:: As Toda likes strength, one thing he obviously dislikes is strength’s opposite; weakness. If someone dies, he thinks it’s because of their own weakness, if he dies, he can’t complain; he died because he could not overcome his own weakness. His philosophy, and way of life, are centered around strength. Who is stronger than the other, who is the best, who is unbeatable, etcetera. It’s a very large egotistical conundrum, to which he has no answer, so he just embraces it. His pride gets in the way of things, because he cannot accept imperfection. It it’s not perfect, it's horrible. Ergo, it’s a weakness, the concept of weakness itself is a weakness to him. Because if it's not perfect, it has a weakness. And perfection is a cruel mistress, whom does not yield much of a result often. Normally, he copes with loss of a loved one with this cruel statement: ‘they were weak, so they could not survive in this dog-eat-dog world’.  But in the same sense, it’s also how he deals with remorse over his killings. No matter how much pride one shoves towards something, no matter how tough one seems on the outside, there is always another side to any coin.
  

Flaws

• Quick To Anger:: Toda is known to have a rather short fuse. When he is insulted, he would simply insult back, and then some. When someone steps on his toe, he simply steps on the other person’s toe even harder. If someone was to try and attack him, he would kill them, unless it was obviously not meant to kill, then he would only mortally harm them. The fact of the matter isn't that he is quick to anger, but rather what he does when someone angers him quickly, he doesn't appreciate it when someone does it off the bat. Because then, he has to show other people the side of him that he doesn't like- the side of him that is a rude asshat. Now with his short fuse, added to the monstrosity that resides within him, he could go absolutely berserk. So most of the time, he normally tries to keep himself as calm as he can be at all times. Sometimes, just sometimes, there are those certain people that he just can't even handle.
  

Habits

• Talking To Himself:: A small habit that Toda has is talking to himself. It’s likely due to the long time he spent by himself. He began to talk to himself as a mechanism to cope with the fact that he was lonely. Toda used this as a way to get over that he had no one to laugh with, no one to be serious with, and overall no one to just be ‘him’ with. This habit developed a short time after moving away from his homeland, considering the length of how long he has actually lived, a long time to him is likely just a few months. Due to this it is shown that he is lonely, 'Even the strong tend to get lonely', is something that Toda tends to state when he is confronted about his talking to himself.
  
  
  
• Tapping His Foot:: Due to his own impatience, Toda devolved a habit to where he tends to tap his foot on the ground. This is known to be his reaction to many things. Of a few, they tend to consist of: telling you to hurry up, when he happens to be highly annoyed by someone, when someone just, in the end, won’t freaking hurry up! As he is impatient, when it gets to a point, he just becomes all-out rude. And at that point, Toda purposely taps his foot harder, louder, and faster to show that he wants them to hurry up.
  

Fears

• Becoming Weak:: A deep fear of Toda's is that he would become weak. As he believes that in this world one of two things happen to the weak. They either die, or come to the mercy of the stronger one. And he fears nothing more than being in that position. Even death itself doesn’t compare to being at the mercy of a stronger one. That is also why he never stops trying to strengthen himself, any chance he can get to be stronger, to transcend the level that he has now, he'd take it- no matter the risk. This also pertains to his fear of being killed by anyone, he could as easily come up to someone rightfully stronger than himself, what would he do then? When he is not training he is loosing strength, and the more he happens to just lose the more someone else gains. If he is not on-guard at all times someone could get the jump on him, and that by no means is a fun thought for him.
  
  
  
• Losing A Friend:: Going a time without having any friends made Toda realize, even if they are weak, it is nice to have a friend to speak to. Hell, he'd even settle for an acquaintance as long as he could speak to them. The male fears that, if he gains a friend, and something happens to them and they meet an ill fate, that others won't want to be friends with him. Therefore, when a friend is lost, he normally grieves and beats himself up, much, much more than others. Normally he thinks to himself: 'You were weak, therefore you died, it was the only possible outcome', and anything similar to the such. He feels pain when someone he holds dear dies, this also causes him to hate loneliness. But even when that happens he cannot just abandon his ideals.
  
  
  
• Death:: Now he does fear death, but it is not the thing that he fears most out of anything. Everyone has death, and Toda has accepted that, however that does not stop him from fearing such a strong thing. Death itself takes everyone, therefore it is strong, but if Toda can become stronger than the grips of death, stronger so that no one in the entire world can show him death. Stronger so that he shows everyone else the way to Death's door. If he can do that, than by all means it is possible that he will never be killed, that is why his belief is the way it is, so as long as he believes that he must become stronger, he will continue to become stronger not even knowing the limit to how strong he should be. He will always think of himself as inferior to death as it is all around him, therefore if he always feels inferior, he will forever try and become stronger.
  

Goals

• Becoming The Best Around :: Even though he started out at the bottom, if he gets up to a higher level by his own merits, it makes everything all the more sweet. He doesn't want to thrive off of the glory of another person, if he did that he would of known he never deserved it. And if he doesn't deserve it he was not perfect. So overall if he is not strong, he is weak, if he is weak he dies. If he dies he cannot achieve the goal of being better than everyone else. Therefore he cannot just simply lay over and die, he needs to get back up no matter the odds. Even when the tide of battle is against him, or everyone thinks he shall lose no matter what he does, that won't matter. He will simple stand back up and starting kicking and screaming, he won't take a lost no matter what. After all, if he wants to be the best, he needs to beat the best
  
  
  

It'd make the most sense to start with his body, he stands at a surprisingly large stature, six foot five inches if you want to be exact about it. His skin color is very pale, never having been another color before. All his life it'd been that tone of porcelain, only every now and then differing in shades lighter and darker than the one he normally wore due to sun exposure or lack thereof, respectively. Toda's skin is very soft, he seems to take good care of himself either way, he doesn't have ashen-colored elbows or anything of the sort. His body is not bulky, nor too muscular, if anything he has a lean athletic build. Both his arms and legs are lean, and he doesn't seem to have too much fat on his body, as expected of someone weighing in at about 180lbs. His abdominal muscles form a six pack as well.


His hair, though a peculiar shade of black, seems to be normal, save for its impressive length. His flowing samsonian hair goes down to a few inches below his shoulders and is less kept the further down it reaches. The texture of the straight locks is soft and silken. The color of his eyes is reminiscent of a blood red, much brighter than the deep vermillion of most humans, with little else special of note about it. Toda's facial structure is slim, with sharp cheekbones, and overall he considers himself an attractive man.


Toda is known to wear a flashy red kimono, designed with decorations such as blue leaves, blossoms and birds, along with a golden sash to hold it up. He wears black arm bands with sandals to match and white bracelets on each wrist. Underneath his kimono he wears a pair of black jeans, the only modern piece of clothing that clashes with his traditional outfit. On his body he wears a sarashi and other bandages around his forearms and calves and feet. In his hair he sports a hair accessory and bears a large black neck cover with a red tassle hanging off of it. He is almost always seen carrying a large sword with him.


Toda's entire body is covered with scars that range in all sizes, the most notable ones being on his hands and one that runs across the bridge of his nose. About 85% of Koujaku's body is covered in large, detailed tattoos. He has two sets: the first being many black markings of an intricate pattern with two kanji symbols on his shoulder and below his knee. They range from the right side of his neck, chest, thigh, calf and ankle. The second is the most important tattoo and is present on his back. It portrays beautiful, highly detailed pink, lotus flowers that reach from the top of his back to right above his tailbone.

Guild: He is apart of Sabertooth, simple as that.
Guild Tattoo: Kay so, he doesn't count a Guild Tattoo like normal ones, he sees one of these like a brand rather than ink. He sees it as a symbol for who he stands and fights for, not someone who just drew on his skin because he was stupid enough to do it. Either way, his Guild Tattoo resides on the back of his right shoulder. To be exact, he has the Sabertooth guild tag.
