History:
Abandonned.
Born and abandonned, like so many others that weren't meant to feel the loving embrace of their mother, father or other family. Nurtured by the hands of the willing, and fed only through those who could give. That was the reality in which a tiny little girl was born. Left outside an orphanage, it hadn't even been in a basket or wrapped in proper clothes like you'd imagine, no. Xana was left there naked, freezing, alone in the dark. A darkness and solitude that she would know and come to call home.
Within the orphanage, the adults took care of the kids as best they could. For inexplicable reasons there were always more orphans than there were assistants. The girl, who had been named Xana because she had arrived to them during Autumn, was growing up steadily and normally, although without having ever closely bonded to anyone. The embrace of so many different hands made it indifferent to her, it made her uncaring. That is not to say that Xana never bonded with anyone, quite the contrary. The other children who were in the same situation as herself quickly became her brothers and sisters. They'd be curious together, break rules together, learn together, study together, all the while growing up, aging, maturing. The orphanage wasn't the nicest of homes, but it provided the very basic needs for Xana, and she wasn't one to complain about her position. As she had expressed a multitude of times, she'd rather be together with her friends at the orphanage than in the arms of a mother that didn't care.
Father.
Many kids were adopted from the orphanage, from many different kinds of parents. There were those who couldn't have their own children for whatever reason, seeking to share their lives and experience with an orphan. Usually this type of parent would be wanting the smaller ones, adopting the babies and what not. Then there were the parents who were of the righteous belief that children needed proper care and parents, or in other ways had come to the understanding that the orphanages were booming. They'd usually be picking those who were nice and engaging. Meanwhile, Xana had always had her own little place in the corner, where noone came to see her. As a baby she had simply been unlucky in the first short period, and soon she had been too large for the first group. As soon as she could form concious thoughts, she had always kept to herself. The children had a saying of being taken away when they were adopted. It simply didn't feel right to be removed from everything you knew and cared for.
Yet, there was a last type of parent that came there. Or rather than type, it was a single individual. It was a huge man, almost as broad over the shoulders as he was tall as a tower. He came there often, and would adopt two or three of the older kids at a time. He'd come there so often, and scare the children enough, that they had given him the nickname of father. The matron of the orphanage had often wondered why he adopted so many kids, but as he had explained and documented, he had an orphanage of his own. From there, he was simply educating and relocating kids to other places where they could find their homes. Unable to argue, and seeing the lack of space for the children the matron did have, orphans numbering in the twenties had been adopted by father over the course of a few years. Several of Xana's friends had been adopted by him. Several were scared and frightened that the next time he'd be there to adopt them. Two days after Xana's sixth birthday, apparently her name had been on his list, for she had been adopted by this wall of a man.
Family.
It was pouring down from above, and the winds were howling through the trees. Occasionally, the darkness of the sky was lit up through the crackling of several thunderbolts. The ambience was enough that Xana, on the back of a carriage, was squirming lowly in her seat. Slowly travelling through the forest, they had arrived at every childs nightmare of a home. It looked exactly like how you'd expect dracula's castle to look. Several towers of an abandonned fortress shot into the air. A half broken sign read Children's respite on the front. Around the estate proper a huge moat had been dug, filled with water and other things. Its water was dark and murky, and one couldn't see the bottum. On the inside of the moat, an old dark castle wall was keeping intruders out. The walls themselves were overgrown with vines and moss. The only entrance or exit, without traversing the moat, was over a tons-heavy wooden bridge - which had been lowered to welcome home father and his new daughter.
The first thing that greeted Xana, wasn't what she had expected at all. A large house within the walls had been prepared solely for the orphans. Children were playing, singing. There were toys, paper, and various other things you'd expect from an orphanage. There were proper beds, decent heating, and rules to prevent everything from being complete chaos. Drawing a sigh of relief, Xana settled down into what was to be her new home, even speaking to some of the friends which had been adopted by father before her. Everything was looking to be just fine, and Father didn't seem like a dishonest man anymore...
Potential and silence.
..but the peace only lasted so long. Because, without any indication of why, children within this orphanage were disappearing. It wasn't an often occurence, but every month or so another child had vanished. Usually, shortly afteer a disappearance, another batch of fathers adopted children would join the orphanage. It was like a continuing process, and Xana couldn't figure out why. Whenever the subject was mentioned, the explanation was that these children had been sent home, had been adopted, or had been sent out to work. Explanations that never made sense as to why children had disappeared in the middle of the night.
In addition, Father required the children to do strange activities. Activities which, in hindsight, was meant to figure out wheter the children had magical potential. Once that had been asserted and judgement could be made, the childrens fate would be known. Just like Xana soon learned the meaning of the disappearing orphans. In the middle of the night, Xana was woken up, but she wasn't in her bed any longer. Instead, she found herself underground, in the castles dungeons, far away from where the orphans were located. Tied toa huge wooden wheel that could turn and spin in different directions, the girl had absolutely no way of moving. It was here that the darkness of father was finally shown to her. In the darkness, children were working. Carving out stone, sewing dolls, training in arenas, fighting each other to the death, and various other tasks to prove their worth to father to leave this hell. It was a place where only the strong would survive, and Father welcomed her with open arms. Shouting, screaming and struggling to get loose, Father was mercilessly beating her tiny body with hands that impacted on her like thrown bricks. Bleeding and with broken bones, the girl soon couldn't struggle or scream. It was at that point Father spoke to her, and the first time she truly heard his maddening voice.
My child, welcome to my family. In our family, we remain silent. Since you make so much noise, I'm going to help you remain silent.. Forever.
Spinning the wheel in such a manner that he could look down her throat, his strong fingers pressed against her jaws, forcing her to open up wide. From there, he could see all the way down to her vocal chord. A sickening smile errupted on his lips, as he pulled up a vial, filled with a thick and green liquid. With careful precision, her poured down drop after drop onto the girls vocal chord, each little drip sizzling like boiling water against her flesh. It was tearing her cells apart, and she was screaming and crying from the pain, struggling incredibly. Yet, father merely waited patiently until she was calm enough that the acid would reach juuust the right place. It must've taken an hour, maybe two. When he was content, he threw another punch, harder than anything Xana had ever felt before, right into her centre. Coughing, spitting, pieces and bits of flesh, blood and spit were thrown up by the girl, soon creating a puddle of blood - and what had once been her vocal chord. The girl had magical talent, that much had been established. It was for this very reason that Xana was shown so much of fathers love and devotion. During a fierce battle in the dephts of the dungeon arena, Xana claimed her first kill, but got severely wounded in the process. Bleeding, gasping for air, Father made a choice. The girl had potential, and he was going to save her.
Obedience.
When Xana turned eleven, the girl had already been taught her own private magic, meant for killing others. The girl had already lost her virginity, and had suffered unnumerable horrors and violations of her body and mind. The girl had killed plenty of other orphans, coming out as fathers pride. On her twelfth birthday, she could finally leave the dungeons. Not on her own accord, but as an instrument of father. The girl knew nothing of the world. Nothing meant anything to her anymore. All that was left, was father, and what he ordered her to do. There was no free will, no desire, no dreams. Only a tool, that others could use as they wanted to. The girl was sold to dark guilds as a mercenary or prostitute. The girl was sold to official guilds for quests that they needed assistance with. Xana was a tool that served father, and he was earning a fat fortune on her skill. Since Xana turned fifteen till today, she had always been in Father's care. Yet, Father's time had come. Wheter it through natural causes or a mistake in his own protocols, Father ended up dead. Although Father had had supervisors assisting him, Xana had nowhere she could call home anymore.
In a rage over losing father, and following instrunctions which she had been specifically given, the girl massacred everything within the orphanage, killing orphans, supervisors, and burrning the thing to the ground. Noone would know of what had transpired there. Noone would know about Father's dark secrets! Everything was as Father had instructed. Xana had fulfilled her last mission.
But when the girl was meant to kill herself and end Fathers legacy completely, she couldn't. The hand holding the blade with which she was to end her own life wavered, before she dropped her weapon. Instead, she wandered off into the world, knowing not where her road would end.

A town for the rich and complacent. A town where the security was top notch and thieves had to be exceptional to make a living without being caught at every turn. A town where people had become complacent, because who in their right mind would attempt anything funny in such a well guarded place. The answer was simple. Anyone who knew the risk was worth the reward. Xana though, wasn't one of those people. To her it wasn't a matter of risk versus reward, as much as it was a question of getting something down her tummy. The girl was dressed in cropped jeans, only reaching slightly below her thighs, halfway down towards her knees. Garning a white shirt with several slang on it, and a cowboy vest on top, only the two lowest buttons buttoned. The purple hair was short, and had been set extremely nicely. Around her neck was a regular necklace of silver and gold, a piece which she had stolen from the jeweller only to fit into the image of the town better. The boots were short with a bit of heel, fine material. All in all, the girl looked as if she simply matched into the city.
In the left hand, she had a bag filled with fruit, which she had nicked from all over town. Bananas, apples, oranges, even a melon. In the right hand was a half-eaten apple that she was still happily munching on, as she stepped through the area, looking around for something to do with her life. Ever since she had regained her freedom from Father's reigns, she had been rather confused of what to do with her life. Not only that, due to having murdered everyone left behind at the orphanage, there were several Rune Knights who'd recognice her when she wore the mask to hide her identity. They had given her a nickname. White Bunny. Probably because the mask she wore had two bunny ears. In either case, as long as they didn't know her identity underneath the mask, it wouldn't cause her any trouble. That, and all she needed were a few additional apples or the like to keep her stomach filled for at least a week.
...So when she came upon a suspiciously looking individual at a fruit stand, she saw a perfect opportunity to get some extra food. The manuver which she pulled off, was rather delicate. Standing besides him, she was looking at the stands wares, specifically the apples at first. Picking one such apple up from the stand, then an apple from her own bag, Xana was comparing them, visibly. Shaking her head, she'd put the apple back, and pick up a banana. Howevever, in a motion so sublte and quick that few would suspect anything, she dumped an additional apple from the stand down into her bag with the first apple, making it look as if she had simply placed back the apple she had initially had. Then the mute girl merely shook her head, placed the banana back as if she was disinterested, and started walking off. All in the timeframe of about fifteen seconds, at most.
