Steal The Famous Fudge Recipe | Job | Solo

Holding the request sheet in her hand that she had just taken away from the request board, the black-haired girl stared at it with a thoughtful look encompassing her visage. ‘My, my. This job sounds quite interesting and enjoyable.’ She commented as a smirk formed on her lips at the prospect of attempting this dangerous yet such a delightful act; thievery. Yes, thievery. Though the object in question of this thievery was one this demon girl did not like in the least bit; fudge. Well, more precisely, a fudge recipe. What the girl failed to understand was how could humans like these edible items such as fudge? The sweet taste that erupted from the fudge was one that sickened the girl to no end. She despised it.

Looking around the seemingly, empty guild hall, Laycie decided that informing someone was a complete waste of time and looking at this job, she would be done with it in no time. ‘Stealing a fudge recipe, how hard could it be?’ The female mused to herself as she made her way to the guild door, stepping outside into the harsh cold that Laycie seemed to oddly find quite refreshing and then, made her way to the train station after some walking where she then, proceeded to pay for one ticket and take a train all the way to Peace Village; the location of her mission.

Stepping out of the train and onto the platform of the train station in Peace Village, it was rather obvious where the dark-haired female’s next location was; to her client’s place. According to the job sheet, the client’s name was Chef William Dorvald. And within the job sheet, it also contained the place where she would be meeting him. It was one of the small and compacted streets of Peace Village and the demon made her way there. Upon arrival, a man stood there, leaning against the wall, with a cigarette pecked between his lips.

‘Hello there, are you by any chance Chef William Dorvald?’ A nod from the man she was speaking to was enough to inform that it was indeed, him. ‘Well, I’m Laycie, a mage from Basilisk Fang and I have arrived on behalf of your request which was on our guild board. Mind informing me of the exact details?’ Leaning away from the wall as he stood up to his full height, his rugged holding an expression of malice. ‘You know what you have to do; go steal the fudge recipe. My rival can’t win this competition and I’ll do anything and everything to ensure that. You’ll find it in his house somewhere. Here’s the address for the place.’

Handing Laycie a sheet of paper which contained the address of the rival’s house, the man then continued, ‘Get that recipe at any cost, ya hear?’ The small nod followed by a slight smirk was all Laycie gave in return as she proceeded to make her way to the rival’s house.

Staring up at the looming house above her, the dark haired demon scrutinized her surroundings to make sure of the fact that no one was present within the house complex apart from her. Once that confirmation had been attained, Laycie proceeded on with her mission. ‘Let’s get this over with as quickly as we can.’ She spoke to herself, determined to finish this and deliver the recipe card to her client before dawn approached as it was the middle of the night. Making her way towards the entrance, the female debated on how to get inside the house and finally, decided on jumping through the fence. Quiet lowly for a demon but the fact of the matter was that her magic had yet not been attained; or more alike, at this moment, it was in a state of rest rendering her incapable of using it. ‘Oh, well.’

Finally, entering the house complex as she landed in the backyard, the female proceeded to one of the windows of the house and opened it up, a slight chuckle resonating from her at the thought of the owner leaving the house open. Quite irresponsible, neh? Making her way into the house, Laycie went over to the most likely place the recipe could be placed within. The kitchen. And indeed, her hunch was right for as soon as she entered the kitchen; lo and behold, the recipe lay stuck on the door of the fridge, its massive letters reading ‘FUDGE RECIPE’ quiet prominent. A slight smirk crawled onto her face as she clutched the recipe card and said, ‘Well, this was far easier than I had expected it to be.’

However, as soon as those words left her lips, a loud bell rang across the house, and the only movement detected from Laycie was a slight shifting of her eyes to the direction behind her where some guards had appeared. Apparently, they had perhaps, seen her sneaking inside the house complex. ‘Who are you? And what’s that in your hand? Speak now; what do you want?’ One of them questioned, holding a gun up, aimed towards Laycie’s back. ‘How troublesome.’ The dark-haired female muttered as she turned around to face the three guards that stood there as her face shifted into a slight smirk. ‘But then, again. This mission was getting quiet boring; time to make it a little more fun~’

‘What are you talk-?’ However, before he could finish his question, a knife had successfully placed itself directly, in the middle of the man’s forehead as she fell to the ground with a loud ‘thud’ resonating through the room. The other two guards looked at their partner in shock before looking back to Laycie who was the one responsible for throwing the knife which she caught hold of from the kitchen counter before she had turned back. And now, swiftly grabbing two more knives, she shot them in the direction of the two guards; one of the knife sliced right in between one of the guard’s throat whereas the other knife sliced directly in the mouth of the last remaining guard.

All of them fell to the guard, soaked in their own blood, writhing as life slowly drained out of them. The dark-haired demon looked at the fudge recipe in her hand, which was yet spotless. ‘Now, I’m going to have to dispose of these bodies.’ But at that moment, an idea struck her. ‘Well, I don’t see the harm.’ Making her way to the three guards, she put her lips only a few inches from each of theirs, one by one, as she slowly but surely sucked in their soul; or more precisely, ate their soul. A few minutes later, she was done and the bodies slowly dissolved into nothingness.

‘That was a very good and enjoyable meal~’

After completely eradicating any evidence of the fact that she had ever been present in that house, Laycie made her way back to the alley where she would be meeting her client, with the recipe card intact. As soon as she reached there, Chef William Dorvald was already present there, his visage holding a seemingly frustrated expression. Making her way over to him with a smirk lining her lips, the dark-haired demon put forward the recipe card in front of him. As soon as his eyes lay on the card, a grin formed on his lips as he looked up at Laycie. ‘Well done. I didn’t expect someone as small as you to be able to get this. I completely thought you were useless and that I did a mistake appointing you.’

Now, that was one thing he shouldn’t have said. With a smile still on her face, Laycie inched closer to the man until only they were only a few centimeters apart. Closing her eyes as the chef stood there bewildered in the cascading moonlight, Laycie slowly opened her eyes again; only the violet of her eyes had now transformed into a blood-red shade. ‘What was that again?’ A look of terror spread through the chef; he clearly was not expecting her to be a demon. ‘Don’t ever say something like that again otherwise, you’ll be my dessert~’ With a furious nod and a few unstable steps, the man rushed out of there however, not before yelling out, ‘Please, don’t tell anyone about this!’

With his departure, the female’s eyes returned back to its violet colour as a chuckle resonated through her. ‘Well, this day was certainly fun.’ She muttered as she made her way back to the guild hall of the freezing cold and monstrous Basilisk Fang.
