I N F O ! | I had to give up a lot of things but what I will get in exchange for what I have lost depends on only me. -Zoe Yawning as she sat up, rubbing her eyes to make the sleepiness go away, the blonde-haired mage, Zoe attempted to get off her bed and proceed with the new day. Though, as every morning, her mood did not appear to be pleasant and the reason was because it was morning, and she was not a morning person; at all. Making her way to the bathroom of her room where she proceeded to freshen up, the female decided to take a bath. It had been a short while since she joined Sabertooth and had to admit that up until now, everything seemed to be going quite well. She was happy and that was a good thing. At the moment, she was living in one of the dorm rooms provided by the guild. And the room was quite nice with not a lot of clustered things present. Making her way to the main hall of the guild, the light-blonde haired girl skipped to it, whistling to herself. The first thing she did was make her way towards the job request board and scanned the papers that littered the board. ‘Hmm, what to do today?’ She wondered to herself. ‘Perhaps, a small job which won’t take much time.’ As she searched through the requests with a contemplating look on her face, the female finally caught eye of something that interested her. It was a job titled ‘Entertain The Patients.’ Taking the job sheet from the body and scanning through its content, it seemed like quite an enjoyable one. Zoe had to go to the hospital in Magnolia and entertain the children over there. Seemed simple enough. Gripping the job sheet in her hand as she grabbed her bag from her room which contained the supplies, the girl informed a member of the guild about the job and headed off towards the Train Station to go to Magnolia. Upon the arrival of the train, Zoe sat down on a seat and patiently waited for it to arrive in Magnolia. This job would indeed be fun as she would be entertaining children who couldn’t things that others could because they were too sick too; doing something as simple as entertaining them could perhaps add that sparkle in their life that they needed. ‘Well, I’m here now. Time to go to the hospital.’ Zoe said to herself, enthusiasm laced in her voice as she ran a hand through her hair, heading towards the hospital. Upon reaching the hospital, the blonde Sabertooth mage looked around, scanning the structure of the hospital before proceeding to the reception where she smiled at the receptionist. ‘I’m here for this job request that Nurse Gladys sent out.’ The receptionist nodded in realization and gestured for Zoe to follow her. As the girl walked behind the receptionist who was leading her to the location of the children, a thought entered her mind – she didn’t know what to do to entertain the children. ‘Oh, damn.’ This was the sole purpose of this mission; entertainment for the children but Zoe had no idea as to what she would do. Her magic was more on the offensive side and she obviously couldn’t give the children some wind blades to play with. That was out of the question. So what would she do? An idea struck her and she grinned; this was indeed something the children would enjoy. As the two females finally reached the room in which all the children were situated in, playing with their toys or each other, the mage couldn’t help but let a smile grace her features. It was at this moment, a woman approached the two female’s right as the receptionist proceeded to leave. ‘Hello there. You must be here for the request I sent out.’ Zoe merely nodded in reply. ‘I am Nurse Gladys. Pleasure to meet you.’ ‘The pleasure is all mine. My name is Zoe and I’m from Sabertooth.’ Shaking hands with each other, Nurse Gladys glanced back at the children, momentarily before looking back at Zoe. ‘I’m assuming you read the job sheet so you know what you have to do. Except for playing with each other, these children have no other means of enjoying themselves. So, I would really appreciate it if you would kindly, help us.’ ‘Aye! You can leave it to me.’ Zoe responded, enthusiasm laced in her voice making the nurse chuckle slightly. ‘Do you have any place where you keep costumes?’ The girl asked and in response, the nurse nodded and escorted her to another room which kept some costumes. The nurse then left as Zoe proceeded to change into one of these costumes. There was also make-up kept in one of the boxes. ‘Perfect~’ A little while later, the light-blonde haired female made her way out of the dressing room and into the room where the children were. As soon as she entered, all the children’s eyes turned to look at her as awe and happiness filled their eyes. For what they saw was something they liked. It was Zoe however, she was dressed like a clown. A clown. Make-up put on her face with the funny little costume and hat. Cheering, the children all made their way towards her, pushing past each other to reach the clown. Nurse Gladys, noticing this, slightly reprimanded the children and instructed them to sit on chairs whilst Zoe would engage in their entertainment. ‘Hey everyone!’ The clown said, enthusiastically which was followed up her pressing her red nose from which a sound of ‘beep’ escaped. At that motion, the children all started laughing. From seeing this, Zoe decided that embarrassing herself would be worth it to see the smiles on these children’s faces. ‘Alrighty kids, who wants to see me acting like an idiot?’ Immediately, cheers of ‘ME’ started echoing through the room and the girl didn’t know whether to feel bad that they wanted her to act like an idiot or, laugh. ‘Oh well.’ Following the children’s demands, the girl decided to use her magic for this. Making some very small wind blades out of nowhere which resulted in an ‘Ahhh’ from the children, Zoe began juggling them around while standing on her tip-toes. And after a few seconds, she did what needed to be done; she fell on the floor after, pretending to lose her balance and all the blades fell on her. ‘Owwww.’ She exclaimed in a high pitch tone as she proceeded to cry in a fake tone. At this, a roar of laughter echoed from the children. Proceeding to take a bottle of water that she had bought as a prop, the clown opened it and titled it to drink however, nothing came out of the bottle. Looking at the children in confusion, she asked, ‘What happened?’ They all shrugged in reply, clearly baffled as to how the water didn’t come. Holding a contemplating look on her face, the clown completely tilted the bottle and bought it to her eye so she could what was inside the bottle from the hole. At the moment, all the water from the fell right on her face as she clumsily, fell down. Her water proof make-up though had not been affected. Another roar of laughter echoed from the children as she tried to stand up but fell face first on the floor again. It appeared as though her act was going well. All she had to do was accumulate the wind before the place where the water came from to stop it from coming and viola. Getting up again and grinning at the children, the clown mage suddenly took off into the air as the children all had flabbergasted expressions on her face. In the air, Zoe acted like she was swimming for a while before her hands at the back of her head and floating with her back facing the floor. At that moment, she slammed into a wall because her eyes were closed and fell to the floor again which erupted another roar of laughter. Though, by now, Zoe’s butt hurt a bit, she was glad the children were enjoying this. After all, it was all for them. ‘Hey, I have an idea!’ She suddenly spoke, excitement evident in her voice. ‘How about I do this?’ She questioned and at that moment, Zoe raised her hands in the air, and simultaneously, all the children were lifted in the air. What was happening was what they all were thinking however, that was momentary before they all enjoyed staying in the air. Raising all of these children was taking a lot of magic power out of Zoe and she had no idea how long she could keep this up for. After a while, the mage let the children as they all started jumping from excitement and cheering for her. Doing a bow, Zoe danced her way out of the room and back to the dressing room. After getting dressed back to her original clothing, tiredness hit the female hard. ‘I used a lot of magic. Especially, with the levitating. I’m so tried now, I just want to go sleep.’ A knock echoed and Zoe allowed whomever it was to enter. It was Nurse Gladys and she had a beaming expression on her face. ‘That was marvelous! Absolutely marvelous! Thank you so much, I don’t think the children have ever enjoyed this much before. I truly appreciate it.’ Grinning at her, Zoe replied, ‘It was my honor. Making these children happy was what I wanted to and I’m glad I was able to. I hope these children stay happy like this forever. Though, I must be heading back to my guild. It was a pleasure coming here.’ Handing Zoe the jewels for her work which Zoe insisted weren’t needed but the Nurse wanted to give it anyways, the light-blonde haired girl made her way back to the train that would take her to the guild hall and smiled at the memory of the day. It was indeed, one she would remember for a very long time and wouldn’t mind experience again. But maybe, next time, with a little less of getting hurt. |
