The Rarest Flower, hunted down by the Man With The Bird On His Head

When Minh arrived at the edge of the Spooky Forest, he was greeted by a small caravan of merchants who were tasked with getting a special flower which grew commonly in the depths of the forest, but it was also one of the rarest due to the dangers that lurked within. The flower itself was a simple orchard of sorts that didn't grow in the very heart of the dark forest, but grew quite deep within the inner sanctum. He then realized that these were the some ones who needed a person to do this task for them, but they also didn't want to be sending someone to their death. The young man reassured the merchants, charming them with his very calm and cheery attitude, and soon, he was have a small snack and drink with them. Finally after another passing hour, the monk had began his trek into the Spooky Forest, a very simply named forest with good reason.

When Minh came across a clearing with the flowers in sight, he also came across a very strange predicament with a pack of wolves growling at a slightly larger lone wolf over what seems to be a group of goblins trapped in the middle. Frankly, the monk did not know what to make of it, looking upon everything with a confused expression. While he was in this stupor, the wolves mingling with each other took note of the newcomer, sensing the power emanating from him while also processing the probability that he was here to take their lunch...or what..would be lunch for one of them. Whatever the case, Minh now had the alliance of the lone wolf and the pack against him, and with no other choice of diplomacy as well as Cheepie's disregard and unwillingness to speak with the wolves, it seemed he had a fight on his hands.

Seeing it was his his strike first, Minh stomped his foot once and a living earth seemingly overtook the lone wolf, causing it to howl with sheer surprise and furious as it was engulfed by the earthen pit. Meanwhile, this left the other pack of wolves to contend with the monk as they surged forth like a furry blur. One leapt up in the air with a lunge at Minh while the other three sought to knock him down to deal deal damage. But, their plan came to the screeching stop when he unleashes his next combo to deal with the frontal assault. With a stomp, three pillars impaled themselves onto the wolves to skewer limbs and bodies, and he lets out an unseen blast of earth magic from his mouth in the form of a foot wide bullet that crashes into the jumping beast to send it crushing into a tree with a painful thud while suffering from the aftershocks of the magic.

The wolves were not severely harmed due to their bodies  being much tougher than the wolves found in more natural areas. However, they were fierce beasts even when wounded and continued to move forward, engaging the monk in close quarters combat. Two charged first and went for his legs with one being kick thoroughly in the face. The other had better luck, latching its fangs onto his leg and allowed for the third conscious beast to jump for his face. Of course, this did not go the creature's way when Minh lunged his head forward to crash into its jaw with a loud crack. It fell upon the ground with a broken jaw and suffered a mild concussion from the hit. With that one out of order for the time being, Minh turned his attention towards the wolf biting upon his leg. With a number of hammerfists launched upon its body, the beast soon fell too from shatters bones.

Meanwhile in the midst of combat, Cheepie had fluttered his way off to the cute goblins who were keeping to themselves over where the herbs were. Of course this not being much of a surprise, the goblins took a liking to the flower and decided to steal it away while the dangerous persons behind them fought each other. Sadly and unfortunately for them, the little sparrow swooped down and begin pecking them on the head very roughly. One of them dropped the flower to being fighting back to the best of their ability, of course, this was practically none. Not only this, but Cheepie was one who was far too maneuverable to be caught by the little creatures nor was he dull enough to be outsmarted by them. For any other creature watching this occur, it would've been one of the more adorable things they could ever lay eyes on.

Cheepie ducked to the right and left of the goblins as they struggled to capture the quick little bird that was zooming about the battlefield which to be frank was like a ten by ten square with four goblins and a tiny bird prancing about on the inside. The little bird hopped onto one of their heads, pecking away once more, moving from one to the next in an endless assault of very non-damaging bops with his beak. Now, as amusing as this way, back on the other side of the battlefield, the lone wolf was breaking from his bonds now that the earth had stopped crushing his very being. Taking into consideration that his comrades were down for the count, it thought about backing off, but its arrogance as a lone wolf was what drove it back forward, barreling towards me once more. The young monk stood with his stance ready to intercept the beast.

Minh surged forward as well to tackle the wolf as it moved to do the same to him, and the two of them landed onto the floor, rolling about in a fit of frenzied rage as both sought to gain the upper hand to end their opponent. Minh lashed out with a balled fist that landed in the mouth of the furious beast which clamp on with fanged teeth, slowly digging in. The man brought the bitten up closer to his head, dragging the wolf along, and launched a counterattack by headbutting it right on the nose with another loud crack. It backed off enough to be clobbered by a heavy right hook that hit with a loud thud. He moved right onto his feet before clapping his arms together to form the earthen armaments. The lone wolf charged once more, this time getting its head caught in between Minh's arms as he used his strength to overpowered the beast, dragging it towards the tree with quiet grunts.

With straining muscles, Minh slammed the wolf into the tree with a grinding crash, sending shrapnel of wood scattering onto the gloomy forest floor followed by droplets of blood resulting from the brutal counterattack. Again and again, he smashed the beast against the wood with relentless might, seemingly lost in his action even after it had died. Soon, the sounds of thudding were replaced with the snapping of bones and limbs now that all of the meat and blood upon the area meeting the tree was tore clean off. Before long, Minh was done with ridding himself of the wolf, breathing heavily while looking around at the mess he had made with his bare hands. Though he was not one to embrace violence, he was not afraid to use it when it is needed, and this was one of these moments in which one can see the more brutal image of the seemingly friendly monk. Remember his duty, Minh stepped back and went over to the patch of grass where the goblins were skirmishing with Cheepie to pick up the herb that was needed. Then, the man turned around to assess the area.

Cheepie drove off the invading goblins and flapped its way onto the Minh's head to rest while thinking about what to do now with these bodies. Minh, on the other hand, had already begun doing so by taking out a little carving knife he had before skinning the wolves, salvaging fur to make multiple pouches in which he stored various meats. After stringing them all together, the monk slung the haul over his shoulder to begin his trek back to the merchants who were probably resting in their comfortable caravans safe from the dangers of this place. He held nothing against them, but he felt that they were being a little too pompous in their manner, yet, they were merchants, can't really blame them for that. Now with these salvaged supplies, he will have an even grander time sorting it out and maybe having for himself some wolf stew. Cheepie looked forward to that as he fluttered to and fro gathering berries to eat.

It was night by the time that Minh came back to the merchants with the sack of herbs that they asked of him in the beginning. When asked for the furs, he declined and instead grabbed for himself some salts and spices to preserve the meat before he could find himself a way to cook it. Cheepie also managed to make for himself a little sack of sorts to carry the berries he amassed upon Minh's head before cheeping pleasingly. When that was over with, the two began their trek to a nearby village to rest for a while and settle down for a time frame of a few days or so. However, it seemed that such an adventure will end up leading Minh into another intervention with his first encounter of true monster or something close to it. Whatever this was, it was coming very, very soon with Minh's growth as a much quickly following it.
