Scare Away Those Thugs! (Krow/Karina Akuma)

Location: Cor Draco Guildhall

The start of a new day, the start of a new adventure, what more could mage ask for? Probably a lot, but a certain mage allied with the Cor Draco guild didn't feel like asking for anything additional. He had woken up pretty early today, especially by his usual standards given that he was the sort to sleep a lot. Not that his having an incredibly severe case of narcolepsy helped any.

The mage in question answering to the self-given name of Krow. He is rather short in stature, only being five foot eight inches tall, though he had an impressive build despite this. His face being what some would call circular in its shape, adorned by a messy topping of black hair he has black eyes, a scar under his left eye. His skin tone being best described as a slightly tanned caucasian.

The attire he wore today being a bit different from his usual outfit. The first thing anyone who knew him would notice, was that he wasn't wearing his most prized possession, his straw hat. His red cardigan being replaced by a red, hooded sleeveless shirt that had shredded trim around the arm holes and white fur trimming the hood. This shirt, much like his usual cardigan, was left open exposing his chest which bore a well-toned and reasonable six-pack and a large jagged X-shaped scar. His legs being adorned by a black, pair of shorts that reached down to a few inches past his knees. Upon his feet rested his usual pair of sandals.

Krow stood before the job board, his eyes flying from one quest to the next until they finally landing up a job from a restaurant owner asking for someone to come scare off the idiots who were demanding money from him for false protection. The anger he felt upon reading this request being made painfully obvious if one simply looked at his face. In a split second his right arm swung up and towards the job board slamming into it right where the aforementioned request was located. The punch carrying enough brute force that his fist hadn't get become impressed upon the board, it had bent it inward. Krow swing around, his right hand drawing up behind his head he would pull up his hood. His maw parting for the briefest of moments as inhaled sharply before exhaling in the form of an enraged declaration of, "Fujin, I'm going to Hargeon Town! There are some thugs who are getting between me and free food!" Of course... he hadn't really bothered to take in anything other than the words fight and free food... thugs be damned.

The doors to the Eclipse soul guild hall were wide open, exposing the people, tables and furniture alike to a gently breeze. The sun had been pounding down on the guild all day, resulting in its inhabitants becoming rather warm, sticky and in most cases a little grouchy.
Karina was one of those people. Having been brought up in the dark and having been taught to embrace it and love it more than anything else, she had created quite a bit of dislike towards the sun. The dislike for light which she owned had only grown over time, she was now unable to see properly if the sun was shining brightly near her eyes. Not that any of this really bothered her, it was the way she had been brought up.

Rocking back and forth from heel to toe Karina looked up at the job request board in front of her and tried to find a job that deemed suitable given the current weather. She had been told by another member of the guild that she might benefit from taking a few more jobs now that her health had returned to its previous state and she was back in the guild. However as she stood in front of the large board she didnt feel like she could possibly benefit from anything right now apart from a long lie down.
Not wanting to disappoint the members of Eclipse Soul who had faith in her becoming a half decent mage she stuck out her arm and pulled a job advertisement leaflet off of the board at random. Looking down she realized she had picked up a job titled, 'Scare Away Those Thugs'. Karina shrugged, scaring people was something she was certainly good at whether it was intentional or not... The joys of being a demon, thought Karina with a sigh.

Negativity was not what she needed right now, Karina thought as she skipped out of the guild, lacy black parasol in hand to hide her from the sun, trying to keep her emotions high. The job leaflet said that the mages applying must meet up outside a restaurant in Hargeon Town named 'La SoRcErIe' so this is where Karina was heading for as the guild disappeared behind her as she set off down the long path which lead to Hargeon Town.

~The Journey Hargeon Town~

The first generation fire dragon slayer seemed quite different from how he usually acted as he made the trek down from where the Cor Draco guildhall. He usually wasn't such a serious person, in fact, one could even go so far as to say his current attitude was nothing like how Krow normally was. He was normally the person jumping or running about, climbing all over everything in sight, save for people. He also usually had a rather carefree and dim-witted characterization about him.

The kind of person who was known for making incredibly selfish demands. That one idiot in a group of friends whom once he had decided upon something, no one could stop him, so most didn't even bother to do such a thing. Though, he was generally a fun person to be around, albeit troublesome given his knack for drawing attention and trouble to himself, a trait which is sometimes more than short temper only seemed to worsened. Especially when someone who is innocent or one of his friend's his put in harms way. These were truly the only two things capable of making him this enraged and serious.

The sense of seriousness and rage seeming to fade away within moments as if it had never even existed. This feat being accomplished when he stopped dead in his tracks. Krow's head slumping forward and off to the right hand side as his maw opened. A torrent of loud and obnoxious snores escaping him, a clear bubble would be seen floating forth from his right nostril only to be sucked back in and then let back out. A process which kept stead even as he fell forward. His body having gone limp as simply lay there like a lifeless corpse, albeit clearly much more alive and well than any corpse on the market. This lasted for a few minutes before his eyes finally finally shot open.

A loud yawn escaping him as sat up and looked around. "Where the heck am I?" He mumbled to himself as he climb up off and looked around a bit more vigorously than before. An animated misshapen bubble appearing above his head, within said bubble rested a dimmed light bulb that suddenly grew much bright before exploding and taking the bubble down with it. When the technically non-existent light bulb committed a grizzly murder suicide taking its best friend Mr. Bubble along for the ride, the youth right hand which was curled into a fist came crashing down upon his left hand which was left open as he exclaimed loudly, "Oh yeah. Hargeon Town has free food with my name on it!! Wait for me food!! I'm going to eat you right now!!" Karina had only been to Hargeon once or twice and was not all to familiar with the journey to get there. Even though the road she must take to get there was a pretty straight forward one, with not too many cross roads or alternate routes she took quite a while to make her way to the town. Good thing she had set off early.
Her fault of becoming lost easily also gave her the wonderful opportunity to admire the lovely scenery around her. The guild of Eclipse Soul was up near the mountains therefore it was surrounded by woods and other beautiful creations of mother nature.
Having grown up with the parents that she had she was taught to respect the growing and living world around her. Her parents used to take her on walks every week through the forest surrounding their manor in the countryside and there they would have a pic nic for lunch made by none other than Karinas mother. Oh how the demon girl missed those carefree days... If only she hadnt grown up... If only she hadnt... Hadnt...
Never mind, reminded Karina with a shake of the head, she did not need to be thinking about things like that now. It was thinking like this that lead her into disappearing from the guild for a while, ignoring contact with everyone. She drove herself into depression. But she was back now, with a new attitude.

After stumbling across a local rambling in among the tree's and asking for directions into Hargeon Town- taking quite some time to look at the scenery with the old woman and share their views on the various plants- she returned to the dirt path and skipped off holding her parasol high above her head, never letting the sun touch her skin.

After an hour long walk (that should have probably taken about ten minutes) Karina finally emerged from the tree surrounded path and made her way to the cobble stoned roads of Hargeon Town, asking even more friendly looking strangers for directions to the meeting place for mages interested in the job she had chosen. She hoped she would make some new friends.

~Hargeon The Town Of Free Food~

Ten minutes earlier.... "Oh yeah. Hargeon Town has free food with my name on it!! Wait for me food!! I'm going to eat you right now!!" This excited declaration having been thrust out into the open air for the whole world to dread, the mage would take off running at full speed heading towards Hargeon Town.

Right Now also known as, The Present.... Krow grinned excitedly as made his first few foot falls upon the cobble stone streets of Hargeon Town, as said foot falls were brought into exist he would be making his excitement about the job at hand be known, albeit through a childish and probably obnoxiously loud exclamation of, "FOOD! FOOD! FOOD!"

The citizens of Hargeon Town watching with a mixture of annoyance and worry at the mages cheerful display. Some of them still remembered the last time this specific mage had come to their town. He had completely demolished the docks, almost single-handedly at that. In their eyes he was almost as bad as the thugs terrorizing a lot of the local stores and restaurants.

For some odd reason the citizens felt almost reassured when they saw him heading towards La Sorcerie. The restaurant in question seemed to be suffering more than the other businesses that were targets of the thugs. Maybe if it was 'him' doing the scaring, the thugs would finally leave the town for good, or were they all totally screwed?

"So this is the place that wants to give me free food, huh?" Krow asked to no one in particular as sat down out front of the restaurant. He had yet to notice the other mage waiting for their perspective client. "Where are those thugs? I want to fight already!" He mumbled just before his stomach had started grumbling which reminded him just how hungry he was.

A few minutes of stomach growling was too much for him to handle it would seem. The mage jumping up and inhaled sharply before shouting, "Hey, client-person get the heck out here! I'm too hungry to wait! Give me some food now!" As these words left him he would be banging upon the door leading into the restaurant.

This seemed to somehow work, as the client finally came out of the restaurant to greet the mages. This was when Krow finally noticed the girl who had been waiting alongside him this whole time. He rarely took notice of girl's that didn't have ample bosoms.

~Hargeon The Town Of People Who Have No Appreciation For Karina's Bosom~

Karina had finally found her destination! With a sigh of relief as she spotted the fancy restaurant named "La Sorcerie" she quickened her pace, wanting to make sure she arrived at the meeting spot for the job on time. After all first impressions were the key to getting along with others when working on a job with mages that you have only just met for the first time.

A few very short moments later Karina was standing outside of the restaurant, rocking back wards and forwards on her feet, from heel to toe. This was quite an annoying habit she had picked up recently and was trying to stop herself from doing it but often did this action without even noticing she was doing it. She continued her habit whilst watching the many people, both locals from Hargeon and travelers and visitors like herself, walk by, peeking into the windows of the surrounding shops and places which served edibles.

At first she did not really notice the presence of anyone else waiting outside of the restraint, for obviously many were going in and out but none stopped in the way that this particular person had. However it was the males tendency to speak aloud to no one in particular that caught her attention. He appeared to be talking about free food, how odd. Said the girl dressed from head to toe in black with a parasol on one of the hottest days of the year so far. She laughed a little to herself whilst observing the man sat next to her.

He seemed to be obsessed with fighting and food... which was free. This, Karin found to be rather amuding and let out a soft laugh as she listened to him further until of course she realized that maybe he was speaking about fighting because he was here on a job! It could even be the same job she herself was going to be doing! Which means he is a magif so! I wonder what magic he has, pondered Karina whilst her feet moved her closer to him.

Just as she opened her mouth to speak to him he jumped up and began to shout, sending Karina back a few steps in surprise. Quickly regaining her perfect posture she walked back up to the man and smiled at him "Please be patient, I am sure your client will come soon... Oh! Look here he is~"

A tall man wearing a grey pinstriped suit waked out of the restaurant, wearing a bowlers hat and a small, neat mustache upon his face. He strode over to the two, clutching a walking cane in one hand and adjusted the cigar hanging out of his mouth with the other one, "So you two must be the mages I requested for the job right?"

Krow upon the tall man's arrival had forgotten how hungry and bored he was, his hues sizing up their client and his opinion seemed rather bland already. The client was wearing a grey pinstriped suit, atop his head rest a bowlers hat, he had a small, neat mustache adorning the area between his nose and his upper lip. The mage had very briefly taken in the presence of the walking cane and the cigar hanging from the clients maw. The fire mage being a bit annoyed by the clients stuffy attire, but when he noticed the man's scent seemed more like that of a commoner he seemed to relax a bit.

The dragon slayer seemed to have lost interest for a moment, his gaze shifting from one side to the next, one store to the next. He only paid attention to the client once more when the man had said, "So you two must be the mages I requested for the job, right?" This left Krow blinking cluelessly as he stared up at the client. "Hey, Pops, if I kick their asses you're going to give me free food, right?"

The clients right eyebrow raising higher than his left when he heard these words spoken rather excitedly by the male who stood before him, he found himself chuckling at the enthusiasm the mage had just shown, "That is correct. Scare them off and you will be treated to any meal you desire, on the house." The mages eyes comically turning into large legs of meat still on the bone, his maw ajar, a copious amount of saliva escaping his gullet only to drip off of his chin and saturate the cobble stone paved walkway upon which he stood. This rather off-putting reaction caused by his hunger, would end soon after it had begun when he said, "Hey, Pops, you really mean it, right? I can have as much as I want if I get it done?"

The clients brow becoming covered by an abundance of worried sweat drop as he thought to himself, "Is it really a good idea to trust this man and such a young girl with this sort of task?" Despite his anxieties over the current situation he had nodded favorably to the males inquiries. The male at this point took off running yelling something about wanting to be the band of thugs friend, though, he really just wanted to fight them. The clients sense of dread returning in full as he noticed this spectacle unfold. He now turned his attention to the young girl and asked, "Are you sure this is the sort of job as young yourself ought to be taking? This job could be rather dangerous, you know?" The clients tone being more gentle and concerned when he spoke to this oddly-dressed girl than it had been while conversing with the male whom now seemed to be long gone.

The fire dragon slayer blinked a few times, a curious expression playing upon his features as he looked down at the girl, "Kari-girl, got it. My name is Kyros D. Sora, but its supposed to be a secret. So don't tell anyone. Just call me Krow. High standards?" He'd seemed completely confused by the last bit of what she had said, but was quick to dismiss it. The introductions taken care of, the mage who'd just spilled the beans on his own secret turned to look down the street.

One didn't need to have enhanced sense to hear the commotion. Several yards away, a ground of ten hoodlums could be seen causing a disturbance. Some of them harassing couples on the street, while others were forcing store owners to give them money for 'protection'. While this ticked the mage off, what was really getting under his skin was that they all looked like weaklings. Not one of them looked like they would last even a minute in a brawl against the mage.

"Hey, Kari-girl, you want to scare them away? If I do it they might die.... so I'll just back you up." He had made sure to say these words of mockery as loud as he possibly could. He had a feeling that it would get their attention and give those being harassed a chance to get to somewhere safe. The hoodlums, as the mage had figured they would, took the bait. They gathered together trying to intimidate the mages with sheer numbers. A rather sad and pathetic attempt at intimidating someone, at least by the fire mages standards.

Krow grinned deviously, his arms drawn up in front of his chest as he cracked his knuckles and got into a formless fighting stance. "Bring it on!" He goaded them further. The weakest looking of the bunch stepping forth. They didn't look even remotely promising. "I hate fighting weaklings. Why don't you all come at me at once." They didn't take the bait this time. The two who were clearly the weakest of the bunch rushing towards the mage. The mage scowling as he pulled back his right arm and swung it forward. His fist connecting with the first hoodlums jaw and sending him flying up into the air and backwards. The hoodlum actually soaring past his comrades with ease. The second hoodlum getting off easy by comparison as the mage simply dropped low and sweep-ed his leg dropping him on his ass.
