Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
(Let's do this.)
The sound of paper being turned could be heard throughout the near-empty room Deniel stood in. His eyes scanned down at the book he was currently reading, going from left to right before moving down very slightly, and looking from right to left once more. He stood all by himself in his office, researching what he could. Zeno left behind a lot of artifacts, and a lot of books on how The Arcana worked. Deniel didn't have the slightest clue as to how it did, so he decided he needed to do his homework. Ignoring it would simply create the situation worse for him. He was right in the middle of the book, scanning over the text, along with a picture. After about five minutes, Deniel turned the page once more. His eyes looked at one page, and then at the other. The right side is what caught his attention. It was the exact same artifact that Deniel used on Venir earlier! He blinked several times, and felt the guild creep up inside of his throat once more. What was originally intended to be a joke ended up backfiring on him. He nearly lost one of his guildmembers, and he was more than lucky that she had the ability to still use magic on an efficient level. The entire right page was covered with a picture of that artifact, and the left side is what had a description of it.
"Well, then," Deniel said to himself, sounding almost happy at what he just read. He immediately shut the book by the spine, using one hand. His fingers went through the books, finding the spot that he originally got it from. He parted two books, and then placed this one in-between it. Upon doing so, Deniel stretched his arms above his head and let out a yawn. His red eyes blinked a few times, and he looked to his right. The office had a very nice view of Phoenix Mountains, being almost at the very peak of it. The window was almost a wall with how large it is. Deniel approached it, with Nidhogg now at his side, and stared down at the mountains. His combat boots clashed against the floor, even though he wasn't putting too much emphasis on his steps, and created quite a bit of noise. When Deniel reached the window, he halted and folded both of his hands behind his back. He stared down at the valley and mountains below him. It was quite early in the morning, perhaps 10 o'clock, and outside was looking quite nice. Despite the snow. And the wind. And everything else. Deniel smiled and then closed his eyes. "Hmmmm. I wonder if I can expand this place soon..."
Phoenix Mountains was a huge mountain rage. It covered almost a fourth of Fiore. Almost. Not exactly. And Eclipse Soul was on the very tip of its largest mountain, which meant that he had all of that room to expand. Deniel was delighted in the thought of it. He opened both of his eyes as the sun shone inside of his window, and he opened both of his arms up wide. "It will be glorious!"

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
Katherine was pissed, she had just learned that one of her team members was turned from an adult to a 12 year old child. Someone was going to pay for their actions and that person was the Guild Master Deniel. It mattered not what his station was, he was going to get a piece of her mind right now. She marched up the steps and to the door of the Guild Master's room. Every step made the anger grow and Deniel could here what at first could be a whisper of a song. It was odd for it spoke in an ancient language of Angels, but his blood would echoe and translate the song for him. There was a pissed off God or Goddess that was ready to use lethal force approaching his door and apparently a whole choir from heaven was urging her with song. Katherine did not even bother to knock, but instead pushed the doors open as they flew open and caused cracks in the walls. Katherine was in the doorway with her folded blade at hand and a face that used to always have that emotionless smile. Now there was just that barely controlled anger that was stopping her from slicing off the Guild Masters head. She looked at Deniel and said just 3 words to him.
"Venir. You. Explain."
"Venir. You. Explain."

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
Deniel wasn't really a person who could be surprised that easily. When he was experiencing battle, that is. That's when his reflexes were at their best. Where he was paying attention to every little detail. And his body was in its fight-or-die mode. However, here, he was trying to experience true serenity and relaxation. So he didn't expect what just happened a single bit. He wasn't even listening to Katherine's song while she came up. He was too focused on the sight right in front of him. He folded his hands behind his back once more, and looked down at the valley once more. And that's when he finally heard the obnoxious noise at his door. His eyes widened and he quickly turned around from where he was. He wasn't on guard, but he did have the natural reflex of putting his hand on Nidhogg's hilt. Upon seeing it was just Katherine, Deniel was about to just make a joke and take his hand off of Nidhogg's hilt. That is until he figured out what she really wanted from him. That is until she said three very quick words, and Deniel found out exactly why he was here. Now his face looked just as serious as hers. He took his hand off of Nidhogg, though, and straightened himself up. He looked quite relaxed, aside from his facial expression, and he stayed that way as he spoke.
"Well, let's see here. I was poking around here, getting used to just how it was. And when I looked under the couch, I found quite a peculiar object. It looked like a wand of sorts. I shot it at the wall to see what it did. Nothing happened, though. So I figured it was completely harmless, and I wanted to play a joke on someone. The person who was unfortuante enough for being the first one I saw was Venir. I shot it at her...and then she turned into a little girl. So I just gave her a test to see if she was stronger, weaker, or just as strong as she was before. And from what I saw, she seemed quite a bit stronger than the old Venir. That's what happened. It was an accident. Or unintentional, at the least."

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
Katherine was silent as the aura of simple anger was there. Normally this would be hard to do to her, but she was protective. Protective of her friends, family and children. Venir fell into all 3 categories now and what angered her now was the explanation that was given to her. So basically this was an oopsie daisy because the GM was firing things that he had no clue on its function. Katherine looked at the GM with dead serious eyes, this was a part of Katherine had recovered: emotions. Except they came back in a storm that left her looking bipolar in every aspect of the word. Every emotion was heightened as it came back to her and settled in. Today was just the day anger came in. Katherine walked in closer, so far no move made to attack or kill yet. However anything could trigger the pissed off Goddess. Each step was purposeful as if she had intent with every step made. Her eyes appeared as if they were piercing one's very soul and judging you. Deniel was on a thin thread towards total war coming to ES.
"You are a dumbarse. What the hell were you thinking? There are freaking magics that only affect the living! Why the hell did you not test it on rats or rabbits? Do you not have the proper knowledge on how to study magic or items? Or the theory and research to do it? I never once thought you could be so stupid. Where is the damn thing that you used, maybe I can reverse the damn thing."

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
Deniel took a single step back as Katherine went closer to him. He didn't entirely trust her just yet. She could just explode on him any second now. Then as Deniel was about to take another step back, he noticed where he was. He was right behind a window. So going back wasn't really in his options right now. His eyes looked back ahead at Katherine, who was getting uncomfortably close right now. Deniel needed to be a little more on his guard, so he put his right hand on his blade's hilt, and pointed with his left. He pointed at the couch that was near the center of the room. "That's where I found it. And you can take a look if you want, but I doubt you'll be able to do much. Something I noticed was that when Venir turned...12. Or however old she is, she said that it was 'just the right amount of energy I needed to get released'. Obviously there was something more to that. So then I took to some research." Deniel then pointed his left hand at the bookshelf, which was to the right of the couch. It was up against the wall that was right next to the desk inside of his office. "There is some juicy information to those books, and I plan to read them all. More importantly, I found one page on the artifact I accidentally used on Venir. Apparently it sends out a very high concentration of Magic Energy based on the user. In my case, it was Chaos Energy: which might explain why it was purple. And since it's highly concentrated, that might explain the sudden change in Venir."
Deniel then smirked. He removed his hand from his blade, and then shrugged them both. He closed both of his red eyes, and then spoke in a very carefree manner: "Besides, she really seems to like the change. And so do I. There isn't really anything I can do from what I see. Oh well."

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
"Oh bloody great. Now here comes the question of what just replaced Venir. Now I have to figure out if you just committed manslaughter and someone else is wearing that skin. Why do mortals make my life so hard... And of course she doesn't mind the change, her memories are gone. You would feel the same if I rewired your brain and deleted all your past memories. The mind is a very fickle thing."
Katherine grabbed the book from the shelf and started to read it. Of course it had to be Arcane magic, what else would it bloody be? Katherine opened the book and sat down on the chair to read about what happened. There was some magical formulas and theories that she read on the side. Getting caught up the choir of yelling angels for Deniels head seemed to have banished as Katherine got caught up in the reading. She would not say another word for about 5 minutes, before saying "Huh, in theory that could work. What about the magic dispensation theory though, it would cause a citywide explosion of energies that would mutate a population." Katherine suddenly stood up from her seat something in her hand and then when room ran out was spread to Deniel's 1st window and then to the second one. She was utterly losing track of time when the ungodly complicated Magical Algorithm spread further and further. Eventually it would spread to Deniels face unless stopped. There was much more that she wanted to write, but not enough space.
"Compensating Mana Bleed with a redundancy system could theoretically give birth to..."

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
"Uhhh..." Deniel now stood there alone, by himself. He almost seemed aloof, or non-existent to Katherine. Not that he minded too much, though. This entire thing was eating up some of his time, and plus she managed to break down his door. She sat down and started to read to herself, silently, thank God. That's when Deniel turned around and gazed out the window once more. He gave it a very brief glance before he turned around and went to the door that he broke down. He began to observe it, and see just how much damage Katherine managed to cause. The walls were cracked, and from the looks of it, the door wasn't really in good shape either. Deniel got down on one knee and took a much closer look. The hinges were broken, and there was a giant crack running right down the middle of it. Deniel stood up and ran his hand down the crack, and then he flicked it. Half of the door, down the crack, went crashing down to the floor. Now Deniel was started to get annoyed. He grunted and stood up on his feet once more, and turned around. And what he saw only made him even more ticked off. "What the--!?" His windows were covered in writing, and Katherine was spouting out nonsense to Deniel's ears. Not only that, but she started to write on his face as well. He couldn't believe it. Here he was, just trying to research stuff and have some peaceful moments. Then she comes in here, breaks down his door, threatens him, wastes his time, and now she was writing all over his office, and his face.
Deniel just couldn't take it anymore. He couldn't allow this to go on any further. So, abruptly, he smacked the writing utensil out of her hand and yelled: "Just shut up already!" He let that kick in for a second or two before he spoke again. This time he wasn't yelling, but he really didn't sound happy either, "If you're going to start writing and baffling nonsense, do it on your own time, and do it in your own room. I've got a goddamn door to fix!"

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
Katherine was so entranced with the book and formula that she was beginning to lose track of time. However it was at a moment of pausing that her pen was slapped out of her hand and she did not notice it. However Katherine was done with it anyways and tested her theory out on the piece of wall between the formulas. She quickly drew it as Deniel was yelling at her, completely oblivious to her surroundings as she finished it and pressed it. There was a flash of blinding light and then, everything was back the way it was before. No broken door, no painted face or windows. It was as if a rampaging Goddess had not come around breaking everything. Katherine looked at the room and then to Deniel."Huh Zeno was a very clever man figuring out a formula to manipulate time. Excuse me what were we talking about again?" It would appear that all this formula calculation acted like a big distraction towards making Deniel into a blood fountain. There was just a moment of silence in a room between a Nephalem and a Goddess. What would happen next?

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
Deniel shut both of his eyes when the flash of light had hit him, shielding it from any damage that it might cause. It was over in pretty much an instant, and when he looked around him, everything was back to normal. Behind him, the door was there once again, and as good as new. He looked to his right, and saw that the windows were no longer covered in writing. There was only left to check. Deniel put his hand on Nidhogg's hilt, and drew the blade. He looked at his reflection on the black blade. Although he could barely see it, he could still see enough. His face was as clean as ever. "What the hell?" Deniel sheathed Nidhogg back inside of its scabbard. He quickly made his way to the window, taking very fast footsteps. He couldn't believe it. He looked at the window at first, and then shifted his focus to his reflection in it. Once again, he still didn't see a single mark on him. He turned his face to the left, and looked, and then the right. He tried to find something, but there was absolutely nothing. It was like nothing happened. "Duuuuude...that's awesome!" Deniel looked around the room. He didn't know how or why, but everything was back to normal. There must have been something installed in this room that reversed time, causing changes that happened to be reverted. Deniel glanced around, looking almost happy, but his face took a dark turn.
"Oh yeah, what were we doing? You were in the middle of making a threat to me about an accident. So....what'cha gonna' do?"

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
"Oh right."
It was now that she remembered her true intent of coming here and drew her sword finally. This man was the spawn of everything stupid and needed to pay the price. Katherine in a flash returned to anger and thus was able to resume her killing death gaze. She took a single step towards Deniel in intent to kill him and then stopped once again as she realized that fighting Deniel in a office filled with Arcane artifacts would not be the best of ideas. So once again Katherine's personality flopped again into happy Katherine as she said the next sentence in a happy, cheery and creepily singsong like. It was obvious that her emotions were really screwed up, but what else was new with Katherine.
"Would you kindly step outside so I can murder you?~"
She talked in such a calm and sweet voice, but the sound of that killing angelic choir was beginning to whisper the song again. There was not fooling anyone in this situation, she intended to kill the Guildmaster. How could he be so stupid to not thoroughly test out before playing with it? Katherine looked at Deniel with the happy smile that a serial killer would give before cutting up a victim.
"Unless there is a reason I should not kill you, resurrect your body and kill you again."

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
"Is that so?" Deniel put his hand on Nidhogg's hilt just like he did earlier. Only this time, he actually drew the blade. The black blade reflected almost little to no sunlight from its surroundings. Now Deniel also looked fairly serious. His usual frown on his face appeared, with his eyebrows lowering, any form of a smile fading, and his red eyes glowing. He didn't really want to start a fight between himself and Katherine inside of his office, though. Anything they do would probably shake up the entire guild, since his office was at the very top. He never really fought against Katherine before, but he knew that this would cause quite a bit of destruction. So, they needed quite a bit of open space. Deniel looked behind himself, and knew exactly where he would get that. He held out his arms, and then let himself fall backwards. He fell right backwards into the window, and using a bit of force from his body as well, he broke right through. Since Deniel knew that the room would just end up repairing itself, he didn't have a problem at all. And there he went. He fell back-first into the valley below. Abruptly, he turned himself around, and started to sky-dive. Deniel created a sky-blue magic circle just a couple of feet right in front of him, so he ended up diving right through. Due to the speed that he was falling down at, Deniel passed through in almost an instant, and from the other end he went into his White Angel Full Body Take Over.
Now that Deniel finally had access to his wings, he put good use to them. He spread them out, proud and mighty, and pulled himself back. He went from diving down, to soaring straight up in the sky. Eventually Deniel reached the window to his office one more. He held out his left hand to Katherine, and yelled out: "Come on, then! You want me? Come and get me!"

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
Katherine's eyes narrowed even further as she opened her Raven Black Wings to her opponent. Big and menacing, Katherine would point it at Deniel and say, "But how do you intend to win when the whole universe works against you?" Suddenly there appeared to be a giant flux of shadows going downwards, but it was just a visual interpretation of what was really going on. Anyone who was flying at the moment would feel like 10 ton weights were attached to the body and brought dragging to the floor. Katherine was fine for the moment, but Deniel would most likely be plummeting to the ground if he was flying. That or there would be a hole in the office floor very soon where Deniel was. The force was immediate and disappeared as quickly as it came. This was one of the spells that Katherine used, but she was always rumored to be a storm mage. What the heck was this magic? Shadows? How could an Angel possess the power of shadows?
"Are you going to get back on your feet and fight or kneel in forgiveness. It looks like you are doing the later."
Katherine walked closer to the Guild Master with what appeared to be no stance. However because there was no stance, it appeared there was no opening. Every possible sword strike seemed to be a trap and her body being in a loose position meant that she was ready to go with the hits to lessen the damage. What appeared to be no plan was actually the appearance of someone making calculations on where to strike next. It would be confusing as hell, but the most skilled of masters.
However the Guild Master would be one of those Master that knew what was going on.

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
Deniel took Katherine's question quite literally. He didn't understand that it was meant to be a rhetorical question, so he simply said: "Well for starters, I--" In the moment, he was also caught off-guard. When he suddenly felt the pressure of something down on him, his first reaction was to lift up both of his arms, as if something was on his back. He quickly dropped to his knees, but his hands felt nothing. But just as Deniel was about to work his way back up against the force, it was already gone. So he ended up pushing himself up, using a bit too much strength. Deniel then looked around his room, and he didn't really hear what Katherine told him: most of the objects in the room were crushed by the weight, and Deniel was inside a small crater. He was even more ticked off than before. If it weren't for the office having the ability to regenerate itself, Deniel would have exploded in anger and rage out of all the expenses he had to pay. He wasn't full of rage, but he was still pretty pissed off. So before he said anything else, he stepped aside, and then pointed to the broken window: "Outside! Before we bring the goddamn guild down you crazy bitch!" Just to make sure she would go outside, Deniel ran out himself so that she would have no choice but to follow him. He went for the window, and then jumped out, spreading his feathered wings out far and wide.
To make double sure that neither Kat or himself would destroy too much of the guild, he also flew out a good hundred meters, so that he was pretty much in the middle of no where in Phoenix Mountains. The air was cold, and windy. Ice chilled everything around them, even with the sun out like it was. There were snow-covered mountain tops all around them, and from here they could also get a view of the entire Eclipse Soul Guild Hall. Deniel, getting himself ready once and for all, reached to his waist on both sides, and pulled out each of his white Katanas: Vita and Mors.

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
Katherine was simply in the middle of the vortex as the room apparently collapsed around itself. Bookshelves collapsed under the weight, desk folded in itself and otherwise the room in a couple of seconds looked like there was a 1 hour fight here. Katherine was impressed that Deniel was not slammed to the floor by the gravitational force and even more surprised that he could move. She was about ready to do more when the words of Deniel were said... He was right and wondered who would be the one freaking out downstairs as it looked like the roof was caving in on itself. The Angel sweat dropped as she was at that moment going to open a Black Hole and suck Deniel up, but it would have taken the guild with them. Instead Katherine opened a wormhole in front of her and another outside behind Deniel. She popped outside and slashed with her sword with intent to decapitate Deniel, "Dear I do not suffer from insanity, I enjoy every second of it. Makes life so much more interesting.~" Katherine would follow blow after blow against Deniel, it really would become the test of 2 sword users and their magics in the attempt to best one another. Would it be Deniel or Katherine the winner? This would regardless be one hell of a destructive fight.
"Why was the first thing you did was make sure her magic worked and not if she was okay? Your first concern should have been for her safety! Do you think of us as simple pawns or people?" If Deniel was smart, he would be able to put 2 and 2 together what really ticked Katherine off. It was more than just the Venir incident, but was something much more.

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
Deniel was armed and ready for any frontal attack that Katherine attempted to make. His hands were both ready to block anything, or reach for his swords and use them. What he was prepared for was a frontal attack, though, and not something from behind. So when Katherine opened a wormhole, Deniel not only wasn't prepared for something behind, but he was surprised at her ability to do something like that. It might have been over right then and there were it not for the fact that Deniel's Take Over protected his head by incorperating a helmet onto him. So instead of Deniel's head getting decapitated, Katherine merely whacked his helmet right off of Deniel's head. This meant that if Katherine had managed to hit Deniel in the same way, then he would have no more protection, but thanks to his helmet, Deniel got away with it. His helmet plummeted down into the valley of Phoenix Mountains, but Deniel didn't seem to care. Under his helmet, Deniel's hair was a silver white color, and his eyes were sky-blue: the polar opposite of what he looked like whenever he didn't have this armor on. Now that Deniel knew where Katherine was, and had his mind prepared for a sneak attack anytime, then everything was about to get a lot harder on Katherine.
As his helmet fell off of his head, Deniel turned his body, and drew his right sword first. He used it to parry the first set of attacks made by Katherine, until he drew his second one. It was at this point that Deniel was using both of his swords to defend his body, but he didn't really seem to make any offensive move at all. Deniel kept on parrying and blocking, as he had a different goal at the moment. He and Katherine were outside of Eclipse Soul, but he still didn't feel like it was safe. So while Katherine was doing her onslaught against him, Deniel turned the fight around, and started to pretty much drag Katherine with him, slowly going away from Eclipse Soul. Deniel spoke whilst he maneuvered them away: "I was panicking, Katherine! I needed to know if I lost a guild member and just gained a child, or if she was still capable of taking care of herself! And she evidently showed that she was! If she wasn't, then I wasn't going to harm her either way."
That's when Deniel made his first offensive move. Instead of Katherine attacking, he did. He raised his left blade up high, and brought it down towards Katherine's neck at an angle. He knew this attack was going to be blocked, but once it did, Deniel would give Katherine a swift cut across her torso area. Only this cut was covered in Deniel's Holy Energy: Silencing Strike. Should it hit, Katherine would feel an immediate disconnection with her Magic for a short period of time.

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
Katherine smiled at her success of her attack, but kept up momentum and continued doing so. She eventually managed to make the man explain his actions and draw his second sword. This caused Katherine to switch her tactics, she now had to cover for 2 different blades. This made her attacks cautious at best, but what came next was completely unexpected. His hair and body was like a photo negative version of his former self, which meant this was his angelic (?) side. What came next was something she could have utterly avoided if her emotional status was correct. Instead what would happen next was simply her getting utterly outclassed by her GM. In one full swoop Katherine felt a sharp pain in her stomach and found a good part of her internal organ spilling out. Her eyes were not in shock, but of an amused look to Deniel as she made a comment, "Heh nice swordsmanship." It was then that she fell face first into the grounds of the Eclipse Soul, a pool of thick angelic blood forming under her body. She was not afraid, but instead just looked at the guild with a blank stare. She was not going to die from this attack, but her body was simply going to say no towards fighting any further. She chuckled slightly at the situation and made one comment of situation.
"Heh that was a ton of damage."
"Heh that was a ton of damage."

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
That hit a lot harder than Deniel had anticipated. It was ridiculous to think that Deniel didn't even know the extent of his own power, but this level of brutality seemed to have come out of no where. Not even he was familiar with it. He had expected it to do something, but not as much as this. Deniel had pretty much won this fight with a single blow. His blue eyes widened in surprise, and panic started to fill his body. "Shit!" Deniel didn't really care for Katherine's jokes or comments right now. He just did something that he might regret for a very long time. The first thing that Deniel did was swoop down for Katherine. She no longer seemed to support herself flying, so he instead had to carry her. While he went for her, he sheathed both blades back inside of their scabbards; he was done with both of them for now. More than done. Deniel brought Katherine and himself up to the window of his office. He could feel her blood stain his armor and seep down to his skin. Luckily for Deniel, the room hadn't reset itself yet, so the window was still broken. Once he entered the place, the blinding light hit his eyes once more, and when he opened them again, everything was back to normal. There was no more huge crater in the ground, everything was fixed, nothing was on the floor, and the window behind him was no longer smashed right open. Deniel was very fortunate to have this feature in here.
Quite some time later, Katherine was put on the couch inside of Deniel's office, and he was leaning against the nearest walls with his arms crossed. He was back to normal: two inches shorter, scrawny figure, black clothing and hair, his red eyes, and his frown. The time difference could be observed by the time of day: when they started their fight the sun was high up, but now, it was starting to set. Deniel knew Katherine wasn't dead, since she had been breathing this whole time. But aside from that, he didn't actually heal any of Katherine's wounds, nor did he get help. He just patched it up, and put her there until she woke up. "Are you sure it's a good idea to just let her sit there?" His blade seemed more concerned than he was. And he had a right to be as well: Deniel took the swing, but Nidhogg had helped him in doing so much damage. "She wouldn't have even thought about helping me if she won. She's getting off easy."Deniel didn't seem to care as much as he did when he stopped Katherine from plummeting to her death. "Hm. I suppose. What will you do when she wakes up, though?"
"We'll see."

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
Dreams... what can one survive such an onslaught of memories and the guilt that dripped from her soul? Katherine was breathing heavily as memories of her past lives just brushed by the breeze. It was slow procedure, but Katherine's wounds closed, internal organs healed and bones snapped together. It was watching a miracle of healing before one's eyes as a body utterly fixed itself slowly. It would simply be a matter of minutes, before Katherine's eyes were opened. While there was still a bloody mess around her in the form of the excess amount of blood staining the area. Otherwise she was able to respond, "Oh I would have brought you back from the dead when your body quit. The soul is more resilient than one believes. And honestly my purpose was to kill you, not permanently end you. If that were case, you would have had a completely different fight."
Katherine laid where she was for a bit longer and sighed at the face of her own failures. Katherine made no aggressive move as she looked at her clothing, it was a complete mess that would have to be replaced. Katherine simply said, "It's hard you know, living for as long as I have. A good majority of your life as nothing but a puppet for one God after another. Some things that Dark Angels do are so cruel that we either fall or lose our very emotions. I chose to play god instead... And I still pay the price to this day."

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
Deniel only scoffed and rolled his eyes at what Katherine was saying. Regardless of her having to bring his soul back, all he did was make her incapable of fighting, and didn't really seek to decapitate her. What she said about a soul being able to survive, though, got him thinking for a second. It answered his question about a certain scar on his chest being possible. He put his hand over his chest, where his fake pulse beated. Aside from that, Katherine went on about stuff Deniel couldn't really understand, but it's not like he would care. It took him a bit to piece together what exactly she was talking about, so that he could at least acknowledge that before he moved on to the point. "I've lived on this place for only nineteen years. And my parents were there for even longer. All they ever did was mate, and then kill their children. Generation after generation. If they live that long, I have a feeling I'll be here a while to. As a Nephalem." Deniel pushed himself off the wall and walked towards the window. He seemed to have a special connection to that, as if he enjoyed looking out at it. Out at Phoenix Mountains. The entire expansion, that Eclipse Soul looked down upon.
"Aside from that, Katherine, I see this as an open act of defiance. Something that I think shouldn't stay within this guild. If I were harsh, I would have you removed from your position right as we speak. However, I will give you an option. Look below, Katherine. What do you see?" His eyes scanned the entire expanse. From where he stood, all the way out into the distance. It was an enormous amount of land, and yet Eclipse Soul took up only a small portion of it. "I have been thinking to myself about expanding this guild. We have all of this space, and yet we don't use it. That is why I stare out here. I have an image in my head, and I seek to make it a reality. But you seem to want to get in my way, so I'll give you an option:" Deniel turned to her, and drew Nidhogg from his scabbard. He pointed the black katana at Katherine, and had a very serious look on his face. "You can either fight at my side, or get crushed under my heel. But you will never stand in my way!"

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
Katherine laid down slightly as she listened to what Deniel had to say about his parents. It was sad really, every creature had a choice to be good or evil. Nephalems were simply the spawn of the sins that the parents created. Katherine replied, "I have no answer for when you will die as your body will eventually cease to age. When I could not say, but the style of life you live will cut your immortality short. As someone that lived for 10 millenniums... You learn that life can be a burden." Mary sighed softly as she got up and watched the window. There was much of the Phoenix Mountains that was left unspoiled and one with nature. However that was not the way of man, it would be exploited for resources one day. There was the quiet city of Karakuri that had monks who worshiped the Arcane Realm. This was definitely one of the more interesting parts of Fiore.
"Well Deniel I see a Dictator looking over his territory which happens to be the Phoenix Mountain. Now all there is to see what kind of Dictator. I see some of the roads of Fate and there are reasons to be worried or thankful."
Katherine immediately got distracted again as she looked at a cover of yet another book. A part of her wanted to open up the book and read it. Instead though she looked at Deniel and stared at the Nephalem that appeared to pierce his soul. She was looking for something, but did not want to say it out loud.
"Oh it was not an act of defiance, I just got angry at you and wanted to let out some anger. I have reasons to be stressed. Too many things have happened."

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
It wasn't really the answer Deniel was looking for, and a person could easily see that by the look on his face. He looked surprised, and then puzzled. It was more of a rhetorical question with no right or wrong answer, but in this case, she most definitely gave something that would be considered 'wrong'. He was so surprised by her response that he almost lowered Nidhogg, but quickly caught himself and brought the blade back up once more. He noticed that she was trying to read one of the books, which really ticked him off. As Deniel thought about it, Katherine was getting on his nerves more ahd more. She came in here unexpectedly, broke down his door, acted like it was no big deal, started to ignore him and write all over the place, then threatened to chop his head off, and was now being a smartass and getting distracted from this. Frankly, any essence of Deniel ever thinking of Katherine as so much of a comrade was quickly fading away. He could probably just kill her here and wouldn't really think twice about it. Not to mention she tried giving an excuse for attempting to chop his head off. Yeah, he was really getting ticked off. "I don't care what you call it or how you excuse it. Anyone else would have already either expelled you from the guild, or just chopped your head off instead. You're lucky that I haven't cut you up with Nidhogg yet."
Even though her 'excuse' was completely pathetic, and didn't really excuse anything, regardless of whether or not she inteded to truly kill him, he still found it quite intruiging. He didn't see much of a reson for her to be stressed, but he also wanted to find out. Additionally, he wanted to see just what goes in inside of her head. "I'll give you one last chance. Fight at my side. Or get crushed under my heel."

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
Katherine looked at Deniel with a curious look in her eyes and then smiled wildly at the words of the Nephalem. He was filled with anger which would serve what she wanted in the end. She sighed at Deniel at his words and simple said, "Well this is an easy choice with me. You know what my answer is going to be Deniel. After all I am a stubborn girl through and through." Katherine grabbed her sword again once more and once again attempted to strike Deniel, there was no hesitation in her actions. However the attack was nothing more than to get a means to an end, to finally succeed at achieving her end goals. End, that was the appropriate word. As she always said, death was a source of Liberation to Katherine. An end to an extremely long existence. Except Deniel could not kill her, only a certain group of people could permanently put an end to her. Despite everything though, no matter what happens...
Katherine was doing all of it with a peaceful smile, not one of mischief or maliciousness. It was an end to all things...

Re: Katherine Wickfield S-rank exam
It wasn't really the answer that Deniel was hoping for. In fact, he was almost predicting her to not put up a fight, simply because she saw how capable Deniel was of ending her life. And even after that, she still chose to oppose him. It was pitiful, and didn't seem right. Deniel made an effortless dodge to Katherine's attack, and that got him thinking more. She could do much better than that. Even a D rank mage could avoid something like that...she was obviously putting up a fight, but was purposely losing. Deniel had said a few seconds ago that he was fine with killing her, but in reality, he wasn't. Not only would he lose one of his most powerful members, but also a good friend to the entire guild. Katherine spent much more time with the members than he ever did, and connected with them better. Killing her would not only destroy the guild socially, but it would also ruin his image, and probably cause a disbanding. And yet it seemed like she wanted it to happen. That was the only thing that gave Deniel the incentive to actually do it. She knew the consequences of her dying, and it seemed like she wanted to face them. Well, if she wanted it...then he had no choice. Besides, maybe he could use her as an example.
"As you wish! You brought this upon yourself!" Deniel pulled Nidhogg, back, in an obvious thrust, but as he thrust the blade forward, a red magic circle appeared in front of it, causing it to change shape as it went through. This was one of Deniel's new spells: Quick Switch. Deniel changed the form of Nidhogg, into Armageddon. The gargantuan broadsword, but bigger than Deniel's own arms, pierced through the air, and eventually, through Katherie's chest: Deniel's method of death.
"As you wish! You brought this upon yourself!"
