Magic
Primary Magic: Soulstone Magic
Secondary Magic: -
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description:
Soulstone Magic isn't strictly a magic in itself, but rather a bridge that fills the gap between a person's pool of magic and their physical body allowing them to manifest such magic. While many mages have no issues tapping into their magical capabilities, there are some in the world that either have no idea they hold such magic or cannot tap into it. What is curious about these people is that all of them can have that gap filled by a soulstone. The issue is getting a soulstone itself; only 7 are known to exist and a soulstone bonds for life, meaning the only way to get one is to kill the previous owner (or let them die naturally and take up the soulstone yourself).
Magnus is the wielder of the Black Soulstone, otherwise referred to as 'The Reaper's Soul' due to it being particularly useful to 'Reapers', hired killers from Earthland who first wielded the soulstone. This soulstone allows him to access his shadow magic and utilise it alongside his already deadly weaponskills to make him a fully fledged reaper, rather than a despised assassin. It can also amplify his physical capabilities considerably.
Strengths:
Soulstone Magic is mostly ideal for close quarter combat, but it does have abilities and spells attached that can make up for any short-term range issues.
As it is not strictly an elemental type of magic, Soulstone Magic has no elemental weaknesses.
The Soulstone grants the owner immortality; they cannot strictly "die" so to speak. They "die" for a short period of time and then are completely healed up as if they had no injuries whatsoever. Furthermore, they never age.
Weaknesses:
Most of the spells are only useful in close quarter combat rather than ranged, making this magic fairly restrictive in that respect.
While it has no elemental weaknesses, Soulstone Magic also lacks any elemental strengths.
While the Soulstone makes the owner immortal, it does have one very significant drawback - each time the owner "dies" he isn't just brought back to life; his death is transferred to someone he has had significant contact with, and it the Soulstone seems particularly interested in trading the lives of those closest to its owner.
The Soulstone is useful for disguises but, should the wearer be attacked in the face (or whatever else they're disguising) then the glamour will be dispelled and broken, leaving its wearer completely visible.
Lineage:
Unique Abilities:
A Man of Many Faces - Purely used for hiding or approaching enemies without drawing attention to himself, Magnus coats himself in a black aura for a brief moment. Once it dissipates he is left looking completely different, disguised as whoever he wishes to be disguised as. That said, there are certain limitations to this spell; Magnus must have had some direct visual or contact with whoever he's masking himself as so as to get the shape and movement right. The more contact he has with the one he's masking, the more accurate he can make it.
MP Regeneration (Lineage) - Courtesy of his Lineage, Magnus regenerates 5% MP every post.

Lineage:
- Curse of the White Witch:
Curse of the White Witch
Description: There was once a village north beyond the snowy mountain pass that lived peacefully and abundantly. It was lead by a kind and just ruler, Margery the White. She was nicknamed as such because she was a caster, a powerful one at that. It is because of her that the village can sleep peacefully at night and plant crops without having to worry of them freezing or dying due to lack of basic nutrients. You see, she had placed a powerful incantation around the land which prevents would be wrong doers from entering their domain. It also keeps the weather and land in check, making their land an idealistic hideaway.
However, their happiness did not last long for a powerful dark Magus heard of their place, the paradise in the frozen wasteland they called it. He wanted that for his own as well, so with an army of shades and demons, he invaded the village. He had a hard time breaking through the barrier but broke through he did. The powerful white witch tried her best to defend their land but because of the sheer number of enemies and with too many to protect her effort were rendered useless. With no hope left, she did something forbidden to all white casters, and that is to use dark magic. With her new found power, she was able to turn the tides, she was able to obliterate the dark Magi and his evil horde. But it was after when she got a second glance that she realized the error of her ways. Not only did she destroy her enemies, but she also wiped out half the land and its inhabitants. Ashamed of her deed, she fled town and was never to be seen again.
Some say she took her life as punishment of her sin, others say she regressed and turned into an old and evil crone who lives in a spooky dark forest, while others say she lived the rest of her days as a simple and normal human with her husband and children.
Ability: Those who were descended from her line are gifted with great magic regeneration. It also allows them to use Chaos blast. The melding of light and dark magic creating pure raw power which is formless and non-elemental. Chaos magic is effective against any type of magic and inedible to all forms of slayers. However it is weaker against steel or any form of metal. Making it less effective against physical attacks or defensive attacks made with any metal weapon or armour.
Usage:
Passive: 5% MP regeneration.
Gains an offensive "Chaos" elemental blast attack as a signature spell(max A-rank) OR normal spell of user-rank (S-rank Max) that must be made in addition to the user’s spells in their magic.
Unique Abilities:

MP Regeneration (Lineage) - Courtesy of his Lineage, Magnus regenerates 5% MP every post.
Spells:
- D Rank Spells:
- Reaper's Body:
Name: Reaper's Body
Rank: D
Type: Support
Duration: 3 Posts
Cooldown: 4 Posts
Description:
The Soulstone coats Magnus' body in a black, hazy aura as it increases all of his physical capabilities by 10%. These include his strength, speed, durability and reflexes. The downside is that all those capabilities drop by 10% for a single post after the duration as his body recovers from such a high.
Strengths:
- A huge range of Magnus' abilities are boosted by this spell.
Weaknesses:
- Boosting his body in such a way causes Magnus to 'crash' for a single post after the duration, reducing his abilities by a small amount.
- The aura that surrounds Magnus is an obvious indication that something is happening to him.
- Shade Shift:
Name: Shade Shift
Rank: D
Type: Support
Duration: Instant.
Cooldown: 3 posts.
Description:
As Magnus takes a step he wills the Soulstone forward, His body is briefly coated in a purple-black haze before he disappears within that haze, reappearing up to 10 meters away from where he was stood before with that same purple-black haze. Once he has taken that full step the haze will disappear.
Strengths:
- Useful particularly for either dodging attacks or for cutting the distance between himself and his target.
Weaknesses:
- The haze gives away where Magnus is going to appear, so a surprise attack is very difficult to pull off.
- Magnus doesn't become intangible while casting this spell. Anything stood between himself and where he intends to be is a barrier and he will be stopped at that barrier.
Duration: Instant.
Cooldown: 3 posts.
- Phantom Strike:
Name: Phantom Strike
Rank: D
Type: Offence
Duration:Instant
Cooldown: 3 posts
Description:
Magnus' fist or weapon is imbued with the power of the soulstone, being coated in a purple aura. Upon striking the opponent they will take the initial strike (melee damage/weapon damage of the users rank depending on whether a weapon is equipped), then feel a second strike immediately after in exactly the same location. The damage dealt by the second strike is D-rank, regardless of the strength of the initial strike.
Strengths:
- This spell gives Magnus the ability to deal considerable damage much faster than if he were to try and strike his target twice in quick succession using his own natural speed.
Weaknesses:
- The damage dealt by the phantom strike is always the rank of the spell, regardless of the damage of the initial strike.
- Apart from the additional damage dealt there are no other effects to the spell. Magnus cannot change the location of the second strike, it does not allow him to strike faster than he would naturally nor can he delay the second strike in any way. It simply hits the target in the same location immediately after.
- Glaring Daggers:
Name: Glaring Daggers
Rank: D
Type: Offence
Duration:Instant
Cooldown: 3 posts
Description:
Magnus glares in the direction of his target(s) and focuses his power. Countless tiny black blades appear before him, spinning in place for a moment before suddenly stopping and pointing directly at his target(s) and shooting directly at them at 15m/s. Maximum range is 20 meters before the blades dissipate. The damage of the blades is equal to D-rank damage, with the damage spread out amongst all the targets (D-rank for one target, half for 2 targets, quarter for 3 etc.)
Strengths:
- Glaring Daggers has considerable ranged damage capability compared to Magnus' other abilities.
Weaknesses:
- The damage is reduced depending on the number of targets struck by Glaring Daggers.
- The spell requires considerable concentration and is also very obvious even to the simplest of minds as to what it is he's doing.
