Kurogane greatly enjoys the freedom and lifestyle that the life of a mage affords him, and in part relishes it. He does what he wants, when he wants as long as he's sure it won't cause him his life and he does his jobs for money (He has to eat and drink sometime). He also likes to party hard, drinking who knows how much alcohol before either passing out or drunkenly dance everywhere. He also likes to drag people on adventures when he's bored, though sometimes he can go a little over his head as he feels the challenge of an adventure is what gives it its fun. Even if he's defeated he'll admit to having fun up until that point.

Kurogane believes that the world is best when held in balance between chaos and order, with either too much order and too much chaos causes the worlds problems. Because of this, he believes that the world has become degraded due to the fact that often governments or guilds simply boss their people around without their consent. Kurogane hopes to change this in the future. He hopes that by becoming renowned around the world, his word will become powerful enough where he can instigate change without having to resort to violence like many other end up doing.

His friendly nature means he will not purposely seek to harm others, and he is usually able to make serious characters join in with his fun. He also is against the idea of needless bloodshed, even if honor is involved and only steps up for a fight when a friend is in danger. He also admires those who have courage, and will actively help those individuals should they need help. However this honor isn't blind, and Kurogane won't think twice about not helping someone if they've proven to be a danger to either him or his friends. He also won't spare any expense against enemies he knows will just keep attacking him if he gives them mercy, though at most he'll just try to get them incarcerated or sealed away instead of killed.


When it comes to combat, he is all business. He loses all sense of fun and calmness and focuses on the battle that lies ahead of him. He also has a deep lust for battle and combat, and though he always loves a good fight he often keeps this joy to himself as the very fact that he enjoys combat somewhat unnerves Kurogane.

Despite doing whatever he can to win the battle, he is not without his limits. He will refuse to kill an enemy unless he is sure the enemy will try to kill him, rather he will try to imprison whoever is causing him and his companions harm. Also he will refuse to hit an enemy that's been knocked down or beaten down, save if he's extremely angry. All in all, while you shouldn't want to fight Kurogane you can be sure he won't stab you in the back.



Kurogane loves to hike, it gives him energy to do other things and it also lets him relax. He tends to go hiking when he needs to clear his head, or lose a temper after a bad argument and after the hike he will always feel better.

Kurogane is fascinated by the art of swordplay, and while he doesn't exactly need a sword with magic at his disposal he does dream of one day becoming a master swordsman.

Like most people, Kurogane craves companionship but with his lonely exile into Iceburg he often pushes people away as it was how he survived in the tundra of the country. However regardless of pushing people away he is at least friendly, which does help his dilemma.


Kurogane absolutely hates people who think they are better than everyone else, and often will try to knock them down a peg or twenty to prove a point. However, this has sometimes backfired when said arrogant ass had the power to back his words, but regardless Kurogane will at least try.

Almost as much as the arrogant, Kurogane hates those that lies to their companions. Kurogane feels that the truth should be spoken unless it is very dangerous, and even then Kurogane would prefer silence to a lie.

Just...oranges. What? He doesn't like how they taste, leave him alone. If he needs Vitamin C he'll get it from a vitamin or something.


Kurogane wishes to be renowned throughout the land, even the entire world if thats possible. However this is not out of some greedy desire for attention or power, but rather with the renown he believes he will be able to change the world for the better.

Kurogane was inspired by heroes like Natsu Dragneel and Gildarts, and wishes to be much like them. His heroes were what kept him from being truly evil during his darkest hours.

Kurogane wishes to make dues for the mistakes of his past, and is willing to do anything to help repair the damage that he caused.
