Don't Bring Swords to a Gun Fight

Battle Music:

This was the battle that would take place in an arena. Bright, sunny sky. There are a few trees scattered about, a small collection of trees by the south, all scattered with holes from various animals. On the north end, a small pond, if able to be called that, about 10 meters in diameter and 1 meter deep. On the east and west entrances lie gates, that each contestant will come through at the exact same time. Covering the arena entirely were 3 inch diameter holes, left from whatever animals were here before the chunk of land was cut out. These holes were all connected in some way, meeting in the very middle of the land to form a nest of some forgotten animal. The walls were 55 meters high, surrounded atop with a bubble of magic that prevents anything from getting past it, until the duel was over. The arena itself was rather small, a mere 40 Meters in diameter.

Daiko enters the arena, a flick of his wrists and two pistols slide out into each hand.

Pistols:

Flashing into his smoke form, Daiko makes the pistols into smoke as well to prevent them being taken. In this mode he can more easily evade attacks, cast magic with ease, and fly. He is still tangible like usual, he just can fit in smaller spaces and looks like a Badass

For now, Daiko stares intently at the opposite side of the arena, ready for any tricks that may come his way.

Ayato entered the arena, furious while he stood across from a dark presence. Ayato hated Dark Guilds, and the fact that he stood in front of a member during this time made him more than angry. He held his book, the Sixth Sense, firmly in his left hand, though it could not leave him, anyway. Alongside the book, Ayato had a tight grip with his right hand upon his ultimate sword, the Elucidator. Ayato examined the battlefield before the brawl was about to begin. "Whenever you're ready." Ayato remarked.

Ayato surprisingly stood still to begin the match. He held no regrets while the soothing wind encircled him. The book investigated the man before Ayato while it also analyzed his magic. Meanwhile, Ayato's sword spoke strategies to the young adult, similar to the ones he had used against Viola. This was going to be an interesting fight. While the book sensed the magic power behind Ayato's foe, it seemed it surpassed his own. However, that would not stop Ayato from winning this battle, no matter what. 'I will defeat you!" Ayato thought proudly in his head.

Daiko was indefinitely ready, there was no possible way he couldn't be. It was time to actually attack, not just stare down his adversary in a smoke form. He'd start simple, doing attacks that could easily be dodged. It would be best if he was underestimated for now, rather than using his full power now and.. spoiling the fun. He will begin just by running slightly to the side, shooting off one from his left pistol. It would do C-Rank damage if hit, and wouldn't be super difficult to avoid if the boy could react fast enough. The gun made little sound, it was a barely audible patter from Daiko's end, and it would be surprising if the boy could hear the single bullet. Daiko would continue running close, keeping his distance. There was no way he would want to be close to that sword. Perhaps if the boy dodged his first bullet, he would do a few more later on. It was a test of the boy's skill, to make sure it's a fair fight. Chuckling under his breath, Daiko thinks about what he just said. "Hah... Daiko having a fair fight..." Even mention of this was funny to him.

Ayato and his book both took thorough measures of their opponent while the brawl officially begun. The wind had gone elsewhere, which indicated that moments here were about to get intense. Ayato went along with the sudden movement of his foe as he will run to the side, as well, parallel to the man whom he saw grasping some sort of gun. He smirked as a moving target would put a marksman at a disadvantage if he wished to pull a trigger or two. While running to a new location, Ayato noticed the enemy withdraw the gun, and shoot it. The book took into account the movement in which the enemy had moved his gun, precisely to get in perfect alignment with Ayato's body of course. The Elucidator followed the orders of the book while Ayato swiftly bounced himself back, watching the bullet pass right by his face while the sword was prepared to defend, afterwards. The Elucidator, of course, always stayed in perfect condition, for it was the ace of Ayato's magic. Therefore, even a bullet could not penetrate it, thus it could be a great defense against Daiko. Still running, Ayato grinned and spoke a few words to the enemy. He had noticed before this moment, there was no sound to the gun or bullet, which is probably what made Daiko's weapon beneficial in battle. "As long as I see you pull that trigger, regardless of sound, I will still counter!" Ayato shouted. It was clear that the two did not want to get close to each other, for getting close to a gun or sword was threatening.

Daiko pushes his hair out of his face, his smoke form making the pistols in his hands less visible. At a range of 15 meters, which they were both at, they looked only as part of his hands. This would eliminate any way that the boy could see him pull the trigger. Shooting once, he watches where the boy goes. Wherever the boy dodged, Daiko would follow suit with another shot, following around with 4 bullets. Afterward, he would launch one of his best attacks into action.
After all the bullets were fired, he would fly in the air, going in the direction of the boy. He would make it there in around a second, due to his flying speed of 18 meters per second. Once he made it there, a whip would appear in his hand. This whip would act as a tendril, and was unable to cut due to weapons going through the whip ( it is made of smoke ). It was a C-Rank spell, and would wrap around the boy's neck, before Daiko would spin him in the air, pulling at his neck roughly. He would then throw the boy at the door where he eventually, essentially cornering him.

Ayato took note of the closer range established by him and the enemy. He was getting closer to use the Elucidator, at this point, though he figured Daiko would assure the two still kept their distance. Ayato also took note of the new positions the two were in, Ayato unable to see the trigger, during this time. However, one component to shooting would still give away a breaking point, and that was aim. The Sixth Sense had already identified the magic Daiko used with its brilliant ability, while both Ayato and the Sixth Sense analyzed the angle of the first shot. This meant as long as Daiko used the same gun, and under the conditions that Ayato could see some form of movement in Daiko's arm, he could surely dodge.

The moment he saw the shooting arm come in alignment with his running body, Ayato swiftly froze and watched yet another bullet pass right by his face, immediately sprinting at full speed, afterwards. The book investigated the scene more rapidly as the item knew the opposition was getting more aggressive. Ayato still saw the shooting arm in alignment with him while he ran as quickly as possible, and so he instantly lowered his body intensely to avoid the additional four shots, arching his back quite a bit in the process. It was now time to make his own pursuit. "Unsheathed Seeker!" Ayato declared while he charged mercilessly towards Daiko. A black hole formed in the sky, though there was no way Daiko could figure it had no purpose during the short time it was active- a bluff, in other words. Meanwhile, Ayato kept high alert of Daiko's arms while he hoped to connect with the other male. "No bullets this time!" Ayato thought furiously in his mind as he launched himself forward, his sword prepared to give a vital slash through Daiko's chest. The two were close enough for both a gun and sword to be extremely dangerous at this point, anyway. Not only that, but it was best to make an airborne tactic like this to avoid any sort of concentrated assault. The strike seemed inevitable, yet Ayato still would have to calculate alternative maneuvers if this boy could somehow avoid this brilliant technique.

'Well, it looks like the trap worked after all...' Daiko, flying at Ayato. Ayato was charging toward him with speed, prepared to strike Daiko down with his sword. Holding back a laugh, Daiko flashes white, colliding with the sword. The weapon passes directly through him, his intangibility making it useless. At this point, he had one obvious option and was going to take it. Since the weapon passed through him, this left him behind Ayato. Turning backward, he would rush to him at the same speeds, pressing both barrels of his guns to the back of his head and unloading two bullets. Due to this happening in literally a second, it was virtually impossible for this to be dodged. After taking four bullets in the back of the head, there was little chance that he would survive. If that were the case, however, he would grab him by the neck, choking the remaining life out of his body until he was nothing but a ( passed out ;D ) corpse. He would then toss the body aside, proclaiming his victory. Daiko new that no matter what the boy couldn't done, it wouldn't have worked. If he dodged to the right, Daiko would easily fly there. Any weapons they boy had were not strong enough to get rid of his signature spell, or stop bullets from entering his skull 4 times. Considering he was only about 1/2 a meter away after the sword passed through him, there would be no time for him to react enough to stop the pistols being pressed to the back of his head, doing the final blow.

Ayato smirked while he charged with his sword, his finger running along his own blade until it bled, his airborne movement causing the blood to fly backwards while he hoped his sword would run through Daiko successfully, despite also believing that Daiko could avoid it. His book had identified Daiko's and the male, anyway, which meant that his tactics were always in check. This white flash had to be a way for Daiko to maneuver past Ayato, which meant that if Ayato could taint it with his blood, something terrible could happen to his enemy. With the white flash appeared right before Ayato, only a smart man could guess that this was some sort of evasive technique, and one of the best hiding spots to maneuver oneself in battle was behind the enemy. Ayato swiftly turned himself backwards while the white essence flashed, his sword in a defensive position while he turned one-hundred and eighty degrees. The blood maneuvered its way past the white light, and towards the enemy. If this white flash was responsible for moving Daiko elsewhere, then the blood could travel to wherever this white flash brought him. All magic came from one source, anyway, so considering that the blood tainted the white light, it could also stain where it came from after the magic power was returned to its reserve.

Unfortunately, while Ayato had his sword turned in a defensive maneuver, covering his face from the white essence, he felt four bullets collide with his sword, leaving fragments to run through the edges of his head, leaving vital markings. Luckily, Ayato's lineage also consisted of remarkable healing maneuvers, even ones that were potentially deadly. There was little to no chance that an ordinary foe could anticipate one surviving four bullets, which Ayato had never predicted himself, and so while the lineage kept Ayato lively, his saw that two arms were headed for his neck. Ayato would take his sword and slash through where the upper arm and forearm connect; the joint of Daiko's arms- both Even if they were smoke, as well, it was reasonable to say they needed time to reform, and so while/if Ayato had the time, he would follow the first slash to pierce through Daiko's neck with the point, penetrating his skull, if it connected. Time was surely of the essence as not many mages could anticipate a white flash doing so much for oneself. However, as Ayato had two co-existing voices to support him, and another eye better than his own to sense magic power, he could always sense where one could relocate themselves. This was the difference between Ayato and an ordinary Mage. Let it also be known that a single-second slash through one's arms in such a circumstance was virtually impossible (hoping to grasp upon Ayato's neck) to protect due to the determination the foe had given, already. Not only that, but if one gave yet another single-second piercing action to follow, with no arms, it would also seem virtually impossible for one to avoid a sword through the face.
