Her head broke the raging surface of the salty sea water, as she took a shuddering breath of the briny air and launched her entire body out; only to perform a beautiful somersault in mid-air and head back into the water. As her body collided with the Adam's ale, there was no huge splashing of the liquid, mostly due to the fact that her acrobatics in water bodies (regardless of the kind) were so precise, so graceful and so charming after years of practice, that the seas seemed to understand her every action like a language. The lady swum deep into the bottom, pointlessly, in fact and then jerked her head up, thus directing herself back to the surface. However, this time, her ascend wasn't fast or sharp, this indicating that she wasn't going to attempt any more eye-catching feats. This time, her swim to the surface was calm and calculated, heading very surely to the sandy-beach. As she reached the shallower bit, the woman balanced herself on her own two feet and walked up to the shore.

'You do know how to cause more trouble for yourself, Aedre.' She addressed none other than herself in her head, while she paced confident and unwavering steps to the seaboard. Her right hand played with a silver chain, to which hung a pearl-shaped blue gem; shining brilliantly due to the thick bands of sunlight that descended from the heavens and kissed the landscape of the Serene Cliffs. The water on her skin and clothes were dissipating into nothing but thin air; a combined effect of the scorching afternoon sun, as well as her own magical output. Aedre had surely lost most of her abilities related to the water after the series of events in the Raging Volcano; but she retained a few, very mundane ones. At last, for now--- she doubted if they would last for any longer than a few more months. Afterall, they seemed to get weaker and weaker with every passing day... Not like she minded, anyways.

The red-haired woman stuck a few strands of hair behind her ear with one hand, while her other grabbed the black robe that lay carelessly on a nearby bush. She slipped her bikini-clad self into the darker robe and tightened the sash away at her waist; an adjustment before she met this so-called Hakora Rhapsodos... A new member of the in-famed halls of Savage Skull. He, unlike many others, had managed to climb up the ranks with sweet ease and speed- thus landing the job of testing his potential on Aedre. The title of second-in-command came with a plethora of perks, along with a few downfalls here and there.

The female mage sighed, as she rested her back against the a rocky edge of the cliff, her sun-strained, emerald eyes on a look-out for the man; while the silver chain played a dance on her fingers- to the tune hummed from her lips.

Hakora walked the baren sands as he made his way towards the spot he was to meet his master. She was an interesting one. She was number 2 in the darkest guild of the land and knwon by some as queen of the darkness, but she seemed to almost have a good about her, but this was no matter. She was his master so Hakora served her and without question. He was not meeting her to serve her as far as he knew, he was meeting her to train to rank up. He was still new to the guild, but he was ranking faster and faster and becoming stronger in the process, but the Soul Magic was already taking it's toll. His eyes had already gained a glowing light blue aura about them and it was only increasing. As he made his way down the barren sands he held a book and read a passage aloud as he drew within listening rang, "The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the one ends, and where the other begins?" Hakora walked a fine line between man and demon and was quickly becoming something darker and more sinster, but keeping in tact his mind and intelligence.

As she stood in wait, the redhead's foot tapped lightly on the ground, thus producing muffled beats for the tune that was hummed from her lips. But the light, musical moment won't last long, as it was interrupted rather abruptly by a male voice. The sentence that echoed in the surroundings only caused a small smirk to stretch across Aedre's lips. She figured that it wasn't a question that she was meant to answer, but more like a riddling query. The befitting reply to it was her own opinion about life and death. But, she would begin with the same mystery that this man introduced himself with, "Choices. Yes or no. In or out. Up or down. Live or die. Hero or coward. Fight or give in. That's life. Its made up of choices. Live or die. That's the important choice. And its not always in our hands... But, then, who makes that decision for us? As you said, the boundaries are thin and unclear and so we, as humans, base the decision around the blatant physical standards because we don't have enough intellect to figure it out otherwise. For us, its just the beating heart, the flowing blood, the slightest movement of the finger or the flitting of the pupils. Movements that can be ascertained easily determine whether one is dead or living. Pathetic, isn't it? We never value the aspect within us that makes us truly living. The soul, am I correct?" As she finished speaking, the woman left a question for the man in the end. In a sense, it was just plain rhetoric; but, he could also choose to answer it. Soul was a relevant word here though, because from what message had fell across her ears in the past few days, Hakora's power extended to control the so-called soul.

'Interesting.' The woman mused within her head, while letting two seconds of silence to reign; more like a bit of time for the brown-haired guy to reply if he wanted to. In this small span of time, she took the opportunity to scrutinize the man carefully. It was, afterall, the first time she had managed to meet him in person. Harrigan, for some reason, had assigned Hakora under Aedre- which, certainly came as surprising, since she was never supposed to have any underlings like the the other Pillar heads. In fact, she was the one meant to head the Pillars and only have them as subordinates. However, here comes a fresh prey man to work under her. A man she didn't even know anything about. Sometimes, she really concluded that Harrigan was a contradicting man behind the facade of a decisive and calculated individual. He just seemed to hide all the doubts, uncertainties and the regrets.

The chain that was played along her fingers came to rest on the palm of her hand for a second, as Aedre touched the blue crystal attached to it with the tip of her thumb. The glow within it pulsated for a fraction of a moment, as the woman tossed it towards Hakora's direction, hoping that he'd catch it, "Wear it." She stated with an underlying tone of authority, while turning around and walking towards the sea. The female mage stole a glance to the horizon, as she dipped a toe into the tepid water; thus causing a beach-ball sized, magically-caused ripple to spread against the push of the waves. Her action was teetering on the edge of mystery and pointlessness, but she really didn't feel the need to explain. Turning back, she addressed the man, "The necklace allows you to breathe in water, so I guess its only common sense to understand what I'll ask of you next.... Get into the water, swim in the direction that the jewel leads you to. You'll meet a very special friend of mine, who happens to have something that is addressed to me--- just get that here. Yes, I just ask you to be a messenger; while I test you to assert if you're capable of dealing with the perils that the sea has to offer."

With that said, Aedre backed away from the edge of the water, folding her hands under her chest and waiting for her so-called underling to prove his value and capability to her.

Hakora smirked, but it did not mean he saw her as more than a pawn. Most would find this viewpoint to be a harsh and unproductive view point and maybe it was, but with how much death Hakora had been around and how his ability could destroy someone's very core, it was very hard not to see life as nothing more than a chess game. Hakora was the Black King, or death incarnated and life, the White King was who he was playing against, but this was the cards he had been dealt so who is to argue with fate? Hakora snapped his book shut as he listened to her words. "Indeed the soul, one could argue it is the one thing we value must above all. Some believe you can live on when your body dies so to truly destroy someone you must attack their soul. I assume you know my powers, so we need not get into that. I attack not only the soul, but the mind. Magic is not my only weapon, someone would say my mind is greater. Attacking someone's soul, mind, what they hold most dear, their friends, their love and even their family is not below me in the game. That is neither here nor there, what is your test?" Hakora held his hand out for the necklace as she explained the situation at hand. He put the necklace on and his breathing stopped and magic began to give his lungs oxygen. He nodded at her request and made his way to the water.

Hakora took a step forward towards the water, but did not sink for ice began to form as he began to walk. He had the ability to create an aura of death and death is icy cold and so it appeared the water under Hakora was freezing when in reality it was dying and solidifying. All things directly under his feet were dying and fearing as ice. Hakora looked at the sky once more and his aura resided and he dropped into the water. He then began to swim downward as the necklacebegan to glow and for Hakora's eyes it showed a faint blue light that was coming from where he was to swim to. As he swam he saw many wild life that were both normal fish and animals of prey. Some tried attacking Hakora, but he was using Soul Drain which would rob them of life and feed Hakora life.

He continued his swim for a good hour due to his swim style being more about movement and conserving energy than speed. Hakora arrived at a golden city where he scuffed at its pointless laverish designs. He moved into the city and stopped swimming as he came to a standing position and walked on the roads of the city where many different creatures that most seemed humanoid were present and looking at Hakora with curiosity and an edge that suggested they would attack if Hakora did something to provoke them. Hakora paid no attention to such worthless beings. He continued to follow the light, as ironic as that sounded until he came to a palace covered in gold and tridents. He pushed open the doors and walked through what appeared to be like the surface of a still glass of water.

Inside was even more decorated and it made Hakora sick, but he did not show it, he merely wore the face of Apathy. A servent approached Hakora, "How may I help you?" Hakora spoke in a very monotoned, dark voice that would later send chills down his enemy's spine. "I am here to get a letter from Triton." "Ah, yes, Master Hakora, we have been expecting you and have heard so much..." Hakora cut him off with a hand that signaled a stop, "I have no time for your pleasantries, bring me to the one I seek." The servent was put off by Hakora's rude behavior and probably wasn't use to it. Nevertheless, the servent led Hakora past the throne room where he caught a glimpse of Poseidon where he was conducting court. Hakora would memorize this and one day come and kill Poseidon. He continued his journey until he was led into a room that was like a mansion living room where he was told to wait and would be greeted by Triton shortly.

Hakora found it slightly foolish on Aedre's part to send someone who wants to kill the gods into the domain of the gods, unless she wanted Triton to die. Moments later, the door opened again and a teen with sandy blond hair and armor that was made of gold and decorated like the bottom of the sea entered holding a Trident. He approached Hakora and instantly his trident was to Hakora's throat which did not help the matter that he was in the presence of the enemy. Hakora eyes began to glow a bright red as the souls he had been adsorbing were growing stronger so when his magic activated it made his eyes glow. "Interesting, Aedre said you had promise, you must be Hakora Rhapsodos, but first answer my riddle and if you get it wrong, you die. Alive without breath, As cold as death; Never thirsty, ever drinking, All in mail never clinking?" Hakora reached up just as quick and grabbed the middle spike of the trident where part of his magic was rotting away the man;s weapon slowly, but he did not break eye contact and neither did Triton. "A Fish." Triton glared a moment more in silence and then pulled the trident out of Hakora's grip and back down to his side. "Good, take this message and get it to Aedre." Hakora grabbed the bottle and smacked shoulders with the young god on his way out of the room and finally the palace.

Once Hakora was gone, a water angel appeared to Triton's side as Triton noticed Hakora had made many cracks on the middle spike of the trident. "Kill him, he is no friend of ours and if the rumors are true then he is the one who wants to kill the gods and we can't allow that." The Angel said nothing and became water quickly leaving the room.

Hakora left the palace and placed the small bottle into his jacket for safe keeping. Hakora continued to walked through the underwater city and now the stares were much more hostile. Hakora was about to push off and continue his swim back when the water ahead of him began to swirl as a woman appeared with wings, the Water Angel. "Hakora Rhapsodos, you have been found an enemy of Atlantis and are sentenced to death." She then brought her hand up and the water swirled around her fist and out a bit until it stopped revealing a golden sword; what was with all the gold. Hakora smirked, "Then get on with it."

The Angel came at Hakora with incredible speeds and the water swirled around her as she moved making it hard to see her, but Hakora wasn't too concerned. He harnessed his magic as his eyes glowed red again as he focused it to his fist and then punched out as the Angel was in close range sending out a blast of magic that penetrated her water magic, her armor and then into her soul cracking it and sending her away and into a wall. She gasped with pain and blood could be seen coming from her. She wrentched in pain as she was mostly a sprit meaning this would due more damage to her. Hakora wasted no time and fueled his words with soul magic:
    The water understands
    "Civilization well;
It wets my foot, but prettily,
It chills my life, but wittily,
    It is not disconcerted,
    It is not broken-hearted:
    Well used, it decketh joy,
    Adorneth, doubleth joy:
    Ill used, it will destroy,
    In perfect time and measure
With a face of golden pleasure
    Elegantly destroy."

Hakora's words came out like binding ropes and shot at her and wrapped her up absorbing some of her soul. She screamed in pain and Hakora walked up to her and began to beat her. She managed to get her sword arm loose to slash at Hakora's chest causing him to bleed, but it only fueled his rage. Hakora grabed her head covering her face and preventing her to breath and he began absorbing her soul completely which was etremely painful and before her death was sealed he slammed her face into the gold wall of the building she had crashed into and smashed it and did it a few more times for show.

She feel to the ground dead, he then turned to the people watching in horror. "Take this scene to heart because if you ever try that again I will destroy you all." Hakora grabbed the dead angel and began his journey back. Once he breached the water's surface and night had already fallen on Earthland. Hakora tossed the bloodied Angel to the shore and then tossed her the message in a glass bottle. "You knew there would be death when you sent me into the belly of the enemy." Hakora's eyes were still glowing red, but fading to normal as his magic went back to sleep.

The woman watched with keen vision as Hakora tread on the waves of the sea, somehow turning it into thick ice and thus forging a pathway for himself. She did not completely understand the working phenomena behind that feat, but hardly cared to even ask or bother to find out. The man's powers weren't of much interest to her; but rather, his capability was. For Aedre, it wasn't the power that made a mage a dominating force, but it was his intellect. Even the seemingly weak opponent could defeat the most powerful individual in the blink of an eye, provided he had substance in his head and was smart enough to turn the odds and the circumstances to his favour.

As the man delved into the bottom of the sea, Aedre took a single step infront of her; and in that very instance, a whiff of red energy sparked in front of her and she stepped into oblivion- her presence, nowhere to be seen or felt in the near vicinity of the beach. She had actually used her new-found powers to transport herself back to the Guild premises, being well-aware that it would take Hakora a substantial amount of time to return back to the beach.... if he actually returned, that is. The redhead could utilize that time to let her hair down and enjoy some moments of peace in her comfy bed upstairs.

    -Around Night Time-

Aedre appearing back onto the beach with another red spark and Hakora turning up to the shore were two contemporaneous events. She pinched the bridge of her nose for a second, trying to get rid of the sleep induced tiredness in her eyes and the light pain that pounded inside her head. Her other hand grabbed the bottle that Hakora tossed in her direction and she rubbed her eyes with the tip of her fingers; then moving onto examining the bottle for a split second and ensuring its authencity.

Green hues would then rest on the lifeless body of the angel, laying wasted on the beach- all bloodied and bruised. As the female mage made her way up to the corpse and bent over next to it; a transparent, red orb would surround the bottle in her hand and make it vanish out of sight. The woman would run a finger over the blue-scaled face of the aquatic humanoid and wipe away a trickle of blood. A smirk ran across her face, as she stood back up and turned to face Hakora, who, by now, had justified his action by specifying Atlantis as the belly of the enemy.

"Your relation with the Gods is hardly of my concern, Mister Rhapsodos. When I set up challenges for people, their past dealings do not affect my decisions whatsoever." She stated, rather bluntly, but with an underlying tone of mysteriousness. Of course, she knew that her underling had some not-so-cordial relations with the heavenly rulers; mostly because the vine inside the dark halls of Savage Skull carried facts along with simple rumors- perhaps, because its members were so treacherous, that they had a fine idea of intruding into other people's private affairs without blinking an eye; that too, just for the sake of amusement.

"Well, in any case, consider yourself as having passed this lil' test, Sir." Aedre stated, mocking respect, as a sly smile lit up her face and her body dissipitated into thin air right in front of Hakora, while the angel's body did too. The only difference was, Aedre was headed for the Guild, eager to complete her nap and get rid of the headache and on the other hand, the angel's body would be transported to her beloved brother, Triton.

    'Someone's gonna be pissed.'
