With his great sword strapped to his back, his black tank top and shorts with the sash and cloak around his waist and of course his red head band, he was ready to leave to go on his next assignment. Some bodyguard duty job for a VIP from Minstrel in a business meeting with Hargeon senators about some kind of energy saving business. It really was pointless stuff, and all of which Naraca would probably not be listening to. Yet the jewel was good, and he'd take what he get doing this job as a wizard. Still so odd to think that he was a wizard now. Times for him were better remembered as a solider, when it was easier. Just a man with his weapons and his wits. No magical nonsense getting in the way.
Going down the stairs, Naraca kept his head down, even when the door was busted open suddenly. Such an occurrence actually didn't phase him. So many people would do that for so many reasons, top that off with the general banter in the Guild hall you generally went numb to what would otherwise be sudden or shocking events when it came to things like this.
In his peripherals however he'd seen a flowing mane of either a redness or...Perhaps mahogany hair color.
Once he walked down the stairs and turned however. His body stopped dead in it's forward movement, like he just hit an invisible wall.
It was Talen, and beside him was one of his summons, he couldn't remember the name but the summon was no doubt holding Kariline over it's shoulder.
He didn't hear what Talen said about how she hadn't woken up, but he quickly connected that something bad happened when he heard Kihia call out that a path had to be cleared to the infirmary.
Out of all the reactions of shock or surprise Naraca could of had, he went with the one his body always did for him: Action.
"Kariline!" He called out in a mix of concern and shock as his feet somehow carried him across the guildhall and right in front of Talen's summon in a matter of 2 seconds. He wasn't sure if he ran or if he might have flew. He could have been flying right now, yet all that was on his mind was Kariline now.
"Give her to me" He said a somewhat shuddered but serious voice to Melissa. His arms going around her so that Melissa would be forced to drop Kariline into his arms which he was sure the summon would enjoy as it looked like it was struggling a little. He'd then gently sink his one arm underneath her legs, and the other on her upper back so that she was being carried much like a princess.
"Hey, hey come on now I gotcha, I gotcha...You're okay. Just hang on" He said peacefully, soothingly, masking his panic with a softer tone of voice.
He leaned back and lifted her up higher slightly so her head could rest on his chest and wouldn't be hanging down anymore.
He started walking as quickly as he could over to the infirmary
"Stay with us now, you'll be okay, just gonna bring you in here and you'll be okay. Just focus, focus on my voice. Just stay with me, right here, right now. I'm right here with you" He said in more of a whisper in her ear now that she was so close to him, an intimate whisper no one else could hear but her.
He made the quick turn to the infirmary, where the healers were already ready for her since Kihia warned them before hand.
"I'm right here with you, right here, right here just you and me okay?" He continued to whisper.
"Don't be going anywhere. You're safe" He added, leaning his head down and gently placing his lips on her forehead and kissing softly.
"You're warm, and...And you're gonna be fine. I'm watching over you"
He got to the bed where the healers would take her in and he gently placed her down onto the soft cushion.
"Stay strong Kariline" He still whispered gently in her ear.
Once placing her on the bed he knew he had to go or else the healers couldn't do much to her with his giant body in the way.
Yet he lightly moved some hair away from her face, his finger tips sliding down from her forehead, going across her temple and cupping her cheek with his hand, warmly caressing it, feeling like the roughness of his hand might help her stay with the real world here and not go anywhere else.
"I'm right here beside you, no matter where you are"
He leaned his head down and placed his forehead right against hers. Like how he did when they were reunited after so many years before.
He kept his forehead on hers, and feeling this he knew that from whatever happened she wasn't going to wake up right away, not without medical aid anyway. Yet he felt like she could hear him, and she could feel him. He knew she was strong, and that it would take more then this, whatever it even was, to bring her down. Yet whenever she might have fallen, he'd have her know he's right there to catch her.
"Wake up Karline, I'm right here, waiting for you" He lastly whispered to her, closing his eye's as he spoke as if trying to send that thought to her telepathically. He'd let that those last words stay in her mind, let them carry her back, so that all she'd think about is waking up, coming back to them, and not staying where ever she might be now.
He knew the healers were no doubt needing him to give them some space. So with a grimace he slowly tore himself away from her. His forehead and hand coming off. He stood back up and took a couple steps back, his eye's staying trained on her as she lay there.
He'd wait for the others to come in, they no doubt would. He recalled hearing Kihia ask Talen what happened, so he'd like Talen answer that on his own instead of asking the question. For the time being, he stood as close as he could while letting the healers work on her. Standing like a guard dog over her.
