The shop is a average looking two-story building that lies in the middle of Hargeon Town. Like the rest of the town, the exterior of the shop is painted a solid white, making the shop kind of blend in with the rest of the town. Yet through the first story windows one can see the interior that it's obviously a bookshop. Over the door, the name The Silver Lining is displayed in large, gothic letters.
- First Floor (Shop):
- As one enters the shop, the smell of wood and freshly bound books would penetrate there senses. All around, they can see bookcases full of, well, books with a clear sign showing what subject the books on that bookcase belong. All of the books neatly organized by subject and put in alphabetical order by their author's name. To the left of them, they'll see a counter with a cash register and a small stool for either Mouse or Vivian to sit on as they make the transactions. And for those who look up will find the shop is lit by basic lacrima lamps.
For those who venture towards the back of the store will find a couple of closed rooms with a small alcove with a small table and chairs in it. One of the rooms is a clearly marked restroom for anyone who needs it. The other though is a locked door that is not so easy to tell until someone open the door. There they will find two sets of stairs. One going up to the second floor, and another leading to what one would assume be a basement.
- Second Floor (Apartment):
- As you climb up the stairs, you will find another locked door waiting for you. Through that door you will find yourself in what looks like to be a small apartment. Right by the door you enter in, you'll see three different rooms. Two of which are each small bedrooms for both of the buildings residents privacy. In which, there's a window and a small lacrima lamp to help illuminate the room when they want it to. The third room, which happens to be above the restroom downstairs, is a bathroom with all the accommodations one would need.
The rest of the apartment is one large room. Large windows at where the front of the store is at easily illuminates the whole room during the day hours, while at night, Lacrima Lamps are use to take that job instead. To one side there's a little kitchen area with just about everything a small kitchen normally has. The rest appears to be a living room area without much furnishings in it. There's a small couch ontop of a simple rug to lounge on with a small coffee table in front of it, but other then that the room in mostly empty. Over by the windows, on the opposite wall of the kitchen there's a writing table stocked with paper, ink, and quills. Right next to the desk is a bookcase to help organize any clutter that is created.
- Basement:
- Just like when you climb up stairs, downstairs you'll find locked door. Though it you'll find a dark room whose only source of light is a sole lacrima lamp in the middle of it. At first it appears to be a stock room of some kind, with extra copies of books lining even more bookshelves. Yet as you venture deeper, you'll also find the boiler that is used to heat the water. It also would appear much smaller then one would expect. That's because there's another room hidden down there that Mouse uses for her own needs. It's currently a work in progress, with nothing really worth of note, yet from the looks of it so far, it appears to be mostly used a training room of some kind.
