Personality: Ying is a fairly quiet girl, the type that most would pass over after first glance, assuming they even really take notice of her, blending into the wallpaper has been a skill of hers for as long as she could remember assuming you would want to call that a skill. She is a bit shy and that usually leads her to avoid stepping up and trying new things, this tends to make her seem a bit awkward if you are meeting her in direct conversation where she is forced to become the subject, once she gets to know a person she generally have a warm attitude and getting to know her becomes exponentially easier the more she is comfortable around a person, why not the type to show it she is not likely to forget past digressions but she is quite forgiving. She is the type of person to react well to a natural leader, or anyone who is willing to take the spotlight as it allows her to become more comfortable, especially if she feels like there is postitive feedback from the person who has taken the spotlight.
As far as her own personality goes she is the type of person that is pretty easy to get along with if you do happen to talk to her,  generally just going with the flow of the conversation and isn't very boastful about her own accomplishments.  She is unable to recall time she had heard the flute for the first time but she knows she had fell in love instantly, her first real memory was of her being given her first flute and the feelings of joy that surrounded it, she recalls her first time trying to play, she was completely untrained and even without criticism she was aware it sounded badly, from then on she had worked hard to slowly become better and better at playing. An over all below average self esteem has caused to feel like she has never been good at anything but her one passion in life has helped her develop a strong work ethic that helps drive her to consitently work on improving herself and in some cases, such as her musical ability, to a point that she has become quite talented despite refusing to accept credit. She has a good understanding of herself in the sense that she is able to understand where she lacks and actively work towards bettering herself and consistently trying to set and achieve small goals.

In battle her lack of experience and comfort shows A lack of confidence that makes her a rather poor leader compared to most, she is able to do the job but she does tend to second guess herself often causing a lag in her decisions, allowing for holes that will exist. She is not very assertive and is unlikely to be able to control a rowdy teammate should they decide to do as they would please, this may end up with them calling the shots instead of her.
She is however very capable of listening to others during a battle and following most orders well. While at first expect her to follow the orders directly treating that as a rigid rules in time it would not be surprising for her to step you can begin to treat the orders as a guideline to use in order to complete the goals and making the smaller choices about how she gets from point A to point B herself, this would be directly related to how well she feels she knows the leader of the group and how well she thinks she works with the other party members.

Likes:
Music - She enjoys all types of music to some degree and plays the flute.
The colors blue and green, this is just a personal preference for the colors that she finds pretty.
Sweets - Especially chocolate covered raisins.
New Clothes - This could stream into new anything but she has a bit more of a fondness for new clothes then anything else.
Dislikes:
Attention - This refers to her in a large group, such as the guild, she can handle it but doesn't very much enjoy it and if done long enough will mentally tire her.
Dirt - She has a rather strong distaste for being dirty, while she does enjoy outdoor things in small bursts she is not the type of person who enjoys things like camping for the long term.
Bullies - It's just cruel to pick on people.
Motivations:
Travel - One of Yings biggest goals in life is to travel the world and see as many places as possible.
Create a purpose- As of now she does not feel like she has a real direction in life, most of her recent actions such as joining a guild were to give her the chance to find one for herself.
Personal growth - This is perhaps her strongest driving factor is the desire to better herself in any little way she can.

Fears:
Attention - While she only dislikes attention on a smaller scale being put into the center of attention on a grand scale is a different story, such as the grand magic games, this is not something she can handle and would likely have a break down trying.
Failing - Likely caused by her self image she always has a fear in the back of her mind that she might fail at whatever she attempts.
Becoming forgotten - This is a rather delicate balance for her, while she fears being the center of attention she also fears becoming totally forgotten nearly as much, she does enjoy some company and finds it hard to create new ties herself so the thought of people she has already become friends with leaving or forgetting about her makes her uneasy.

Appearance: Ying has a slim build, she doesn't really put weight on no matter what she finds herself eating and a half way decent exercise routine keeps in about average shape for a girl of her size and stature. One might say Ying is fairly good looking, nothing too special stands out and while it might boil down to taste she is content with her own body and doesn't really find any part of herself to be an unattractive feature. While she wears a variety of casual cloths she tends to stick to a rather plain T-shirt and pair of sweat pants should the weather permit it, on some odd occasions if she is feeling brave or thinks people are forgetting about her just a bit too much she might mix things up and dress up a little bit.
