    Spoiler:

It was not a completely strange occurrence, one chef hiding a recipe that made him famous, another hiring someone to get it. It was, however, strange that Kuro had taken this request. Besides the infinitely numerous other things he couldve been doing, he usually did not care for thievery. Fortunately for the chef, Kuro was desperate. As it turns out, not even Dark Mages were immune to the trouble that was rent. Fact was, Kuro did not actually have a home. He preferred sleeping in trees and little hide outs that he dare not mention. The truth was that he had run low on food, and that was a necessity. Of course, he could always go around and eat people, but that usually had bad reactions. Usually, because that one town he visited apparently had a feast of a human at least once every ten years. In any case, the goal of the mission was direct, simple, and required no bloodshed. That was one of the main reasons Kuro wouldve never taken this mission if he wasnt desperate. Money was usually not worth a bloodless job. It became even worse because if there WAS bloodshed, it may negate his pay, which would then cause him to kill his contractor, because that was bullshit. Granted, he was somewhat skilled at stealth, but that did not make it any less annoying. It was a simple fact, fighting was fun, sneaking was boring. Even so, he would not back down. He had enough skill to pull it off, seeing as the target was barely protected. Why the chef had neglected to protect his recipe was beyond Kuro. Sure, a few mercenaries were staged nearby, but the actual recipe itself was unguarded. Did the man believe his little thugs would save him? Actually, it made more sense that he did not think anyone would waste the money to hire a mage for a silly recipe. It made less sense than Kuro could even describe, but it happened. Even D ranked missions were expensive compared to a mercenary, though even low level mages were often better than Mercs. There was no doubt about it, he attracted insanity. With a title like Psychosis, it was a given, but still.

Entering the small home, which was about as large as a guild, but considering the mansions that dotted the nearby landscape, it was small by comparison. Kuro idly noted the five guards on the property who were all standing guard, but not really paying attention, each bored out of their mind. Kuro smirked cruelly, getting a few ideas. First, a distraction, then knocking each guard out, then it would be simple to just walk in and get it. Hopefully. While the guards were all he saw, he had little doubt there was some kind of secondary protection, be it guard dogs, alarms, or maybe even a mage. He seriously hoped for that last one. He may not be able to kill the mercs and get away with it, but a mage? Hell yes.

Using Buso to harden both his hands, he clapped, creating a sound that echoed around the complex, sounding far more like an explosion than a clap. He quickly ran behind the trees. In a few seconds, the guards poured out, all but one. A smart tactic usually, but this was a mage they were dealing with. The four turned away from each other, each looking in a different direction to try and find the source of the noise. Kuro grinned sadistically, before charging at the one looking towards his direction. The man did not have the chance to speak before Kuro covered his mouth, using Shame to electrocute the man into unconsciousness. Before the body hit the ground, he was already on the next guard, kicking the man in the back of his head, easily knocking him out. The other two, however, heard the noise, and turned to him. In an incredible show of stupidity, they pulled out swords and charged him. Kuro smacked the blades away with his still hard hands and slammed their heads together, knocking each of them out.

With that done, he strolled casually through the gates, straight towards the entrance. The final mercenary stood trembling at the front of the doors, as if he was some last resort or something. Kuro did not even flinch when the mercenary attack him with a sword, only blocking with Buso and electrocuting him with Shame. The final mercenary fell unconscious and Kuro sighed. For all the hype, it was kind of pathetic. Kuro walked calmly around the building, knowing no one was there due to his passive sensory. It took him a while, but he found the recipe behind a picture frame, as if this were some overused cliche. In any case, Kuro easily broke into the safe, took the recipe in hand, and left without a second thought.

Taking the short cut through the woods back to the Chef's house, he gave the chef the recipe he had asked for. Not a tough job, but one that made him remember what it was like before he killed so easily. Reminiscing those times was fun, but maybe he should try and be more merciful from now on, like he had been in this mission... nah. Murder was too much fun!
