The Arrival

Axel's eyes remain locked onto the Sabertooth guild hall doors as his head fills with ideas for what he should say as he enters. "Maybe I should go for the subtle approach" he whispers to himself. "That's too boring!" his voice raises as he pushes through the large gleaming doors. Inside holds the most incredible guild hall Axel has ever laid eyes on. Every hair on his body shot up like a firework and his knees began to wobble. He makes his way in, puffs out his chest and prepares his first words spoken inside of Sabertooth's walls. "My name is Axel Tsuruna! It's an honor to be here!" With hope and pride he stands still smiling waiting for a response from any guild member that has heard his voice.

Unfortunately for Axel the first person he came in contact with was Lord Frederick, an enigmatic former dark mage that always kept himself hidden under the safety of his hooded cloak, revealing nothing more then the lower part of his face. A chin and a mouth whom barely were visible under the shadows that were being casted by the hood. But more importantly then his appearance, he had quite an attitude problem. A man who kept looking down on his guild mates and generally seemed to be annoyed most of the time. And in return for his often hostile remarks, the other Sabertooth mages had started to see him as such. And often threw foul gazes at him, during the small time he'd actually was present in the main hall.

'You're in my way' said a cold voice coming from behind Axel. Returning from a job just a few moments after the new mage had opened the doors, Frederick was being met with the back of a rather enthusiastic boy. Whom Frederick guessed was filled with the dreams and determination of making a name for himself. To him such people were delusional, unable to see the cold hard truth in life.

A few moments passed, and Frederick grew rather impatient. 'Are you deaf boy? Move aside.' His voice now, authoritative yet still having the same coldness. With an unbendable will that didn't liked to be trifled with.

The newcomer was rather chipper, and even extended out his hand a towards Frederick. He didn't know why the newcomer even tried that, but Frederick could only guess that he had some idealistic conviction that friendliness could overcome any sourpuss.
However with Frederick this was not the case, instead grabbing the man's extending hand, he'd shoved it out of his away and started to walk pass the newcomer. A clear sign that Frederick wasn't here to become chummy with him, or anyone else for that matter.

'Tch, don't get in my way again.. boy' he said as his final words, while moving passed him. Showing nothing but his back until he disappeared down some stairs at the others side of the hall.

"Don't take it personally... Frederick's always kind of been like that. HE can be a pretty nice guy though"
A young girls voice finally spoke up as Aayla walked towards the newbie. Aayla looked young, about 15 years old with her hair tied up into two pigtails on either side of her head. The only thing that said anything different about her age was he way she dressed. She wore an armored coat which seemed to be covered in scales, and strapped to her back was a large golden trident, only it's tri peaks visible as the rest was wrapped up.

"My name is Aayla Mizune, I'm one of the knights of Sabertooth. You're name was Axel? What brings you all the way up here?"
The young girl asked politely of her elder.

Axel was astounded by the fact that his first interaction ended opposite to how he anticipated. He attempted to not show the shock on his face with a grin. Soon a girl from the guidl was speaking to him. "Nice to meet you Aayla." he bowed to show respect for the young girl. "I'm here to be a member of the Sabertooth guild, from what I've heard it definitely suits me!" he said enthusiastically.

"Really? Well we'll be happy to have you as part of the family Axel. Just know that being a member of Sabertooth is more than just being a member of the guild, you should treat everyone in the guild like family, show everyone the same respect you would want them to show you. Always strive to help those weaker than you and lead them into a better future."
Okay, so maybe the young girl had practiced being more mature, stood in front of a mirror for hours trying to figure out what to say when a new member appeared... and now that she finally said it to someone, she couldn't help but think about how corny and unlike herself she sounded.

"If you're ready to do that, then welcome to the guild Mr Tsuruna! Why don't you come and have a drink and a bite to eat until Master Zenshin can give you your guild tattoo."
She offered the man, her face flushing slightly at the fact that he had bowed to her. He was clearly much older than her and owed her no such respect, but he did anyways. She was starting to like him already.

"Of course" Axel began "I wouldn't dream of showing any disrespect to the guild. Treating all as family is something I will have to get used to since you see I didn't really have a family when young." To avoid continuing on the topic Axel accepted Aayla's invitation to sit and enjoy some food.

"Neither did I... well... none that I remembered. They all seemed to just up and disappear one after another..."
She said with a light huff as she followed Axel to the table, running up to the bar and getting a pitcher of water and a basket of bread before bringing it back to the table for Axel.

"I don't mean to be nozy but what brought you to Sabertooth?"
She asked curiously as she ahd a seat with him, glancing around to see who else the boy could meet.

Axel looked over at the girl not sure what to say. "I suppose that I'm looking for a purpose to live" he said softly. "I've been through a lot and I need something worth living for, and I thought joining a guild would guide me to that sense of purpose. There's people here who I'm sure I'll get to know and become friends with which seems like it would give me some feeling of belonging. At least that's what I think." He finished and continued to eat the bread Aayla had given him.

"You definitely chose an honorable purpose indeed. To help others, even if only a little at the beginning in the hopes of creating a brighter future for all. It may sound like an idealistic dream, and maybe it is. But the members of my guild believe. They believe in our three principles of faith, conviction, and selflessness. The question is, do you?" Zenshin said, coming out of seemingly no where to greet the boy with a question. "I am the leader of Sabertooth. You can call me the king, the guildmaster, or just Zenshin. I really don't mind what you call me as long as it's respectful" he said, looking into the eyes of the boy in front of him. "And to whom to I owe the honor of allowing entry into the Sabertooth family?"

The Guild master had startled Axel which caused him to scramble out of his chair to manage a bow. He stayed bowing for a moment to show respect. "Greeting King Zenshin! My name is Axel Tsuruna!" he announced while keeping his head down. As he slowly looked up he was astounded by the magic energy he could feel emitting from the king. "And to answer your question, I do indeed believe in those principles. They to me are the most important principles to live by." He grinned to show assurance that he was happy to be where he was.
