Strength Of Heart l l Weapons Training [Private - Emilia Crohil] Empty Strength Of Heart l l Weapons Training [Private - Emilia Crohil]

The gleams of the oncoming toll of noon was blanketing the natural life of the world. Rays of sunlight beamed through what could only be deemed as the forests rooftop, the scurrying of various animals to be heard but not seen. A familiarity of the dirt pathway sparked a memory to reveal itself. Playing in a pair of certain electric blue orbs, the light footsteps tapping against the soil were barely audible throughout the cliff environment. A form of excitement came bounding from within - very much apparent in a certain youngling's movements - as today was a day where weapons training would begin with a certain member from her team. Needless to say that Brielle's giddy behavior was an understatement to her excitement. For the first time, the girl would be able to spend time with just Emilia for a while. Even if the casual demeanor wouldn't be present for long unlike the missions they took part of in the past as the Army of Few, the moments were more than enough. The plans had been arranged an untold amount of time ago. The raven haired mage couldn't recollect when, but the time had been remembered with an excitement just waiting to burst forth.

Reaching a clearing on the Serene Cliff, the McCloud raised up her arms with her palms facing forward as she stretched to release the tension from her muscles. The training session was going to be a difficult one no doubt, but it was all the more worth it to be able to take in the basics of using one. It was going to prove much better than simply fighting with fists and feet as the mage had been doing ever since she learned how to defend herself. It was within that moment that Brielle let her arms fall to her sides with a soft sigh escaping her lips; her eyes observed the scenery before her once more as the familiar crashes of the ocean waves could be heard. Within a moment, a familiar flashback replayed in the depths of her mind - a memory that resurfaced from the past from a short time after she first joined. "Seemed like such a long time ago..." Her words were directed to nothing but the waves of time flowing through her system.

"Hey kiddo...d'you mind if I take a seat beside you?" he asked, before kneeling down so he was almost level with Brielle. He stared out at the ocean for a couple of seconds before turning to face the raven-haired teen. "You're new to the guild right? I suppose I ought to introduce myself. I'm Marick, Sabertooth's Paragon of Selflessness and Head Examiner." he stated as he offered his hand out to the McCloud. . .

Upon his introduction, Brielle's own pair of electric blue irises widened at the sudden knowledge of who this man was. With a slight form of clumsiness the young girl clasped her small hand around Marick's, shaking it gently as she returned the greeting with her own version of formality. "A-An honor and pleasure to meet you, Marick. My name is Brielle McCloud a-and I am indeed new to the guild."

For an unknown reason, such a meeting held purpose to her for a strong reason lingering within. Brielle felt the corner of her lips twitch slightly at the memory as she was left in wonderment as to why such a meeting would hold a much more impacting memory than all the other grand individuals she had met. There was something about Marick that the girl couldn't quite put her senses to figure out - a mystery that seemed to pull her in by his own pair of electric blue orbs. It was as if the girl had been staring in a mirror that day upon their first meeting. Truly a wonder, indeed...

Releasing a sigh from her pink lips, the raven haired mage shoved her pale hands into her pink jacket pockets while slowly becoming captivated by the ocean itself. It was certainly a way to pass the time while waiting for her new mentor to arrive at the location, and even a chance to relax while thinking of the past. The time spent within the guild was certainly the most fun she has had in quite some time, and the girl didn't regret a moment of any of it. From meeting the Guild Master Zenshin, to forming a team with Eli Validus and Emilia Crohil, to helping Aayla... Not one moment was looked upon with negativity as she stood there near the edge waiting for Emilia to arrive.

The day had finally come to teach Brielle how to fight for real. Fists and feet were all well and good, especially if you had magic to enhance them, but sometimes they just wouldn't cut it, or bash it, or stab it. Or what have you. For that you needed a weapon. And a weapon is what Brielle would get. Now what kind of weapon was up to her. Emilia had guessed she would be more fond of bladed weapons. They tended to deal a good amount of damage and attack quickly, which would probably fit her style of magic well, but Emi wasn't quite sure what she would end up wanting, so she had gotten quite a few weapons from her father to give to the girl. Hell knows he could spare them, and Emi liked Brielle enough that she wouldn't charge her for it. The girl had a lot of potential, and Emilia wanted her to use it. One thing she did regret though was letting Brielle choose the location where they would train. She hadn't figured the girl would choose a location as inconvenient as this.

Emilia was excited to get on with this training. She had given a few fighting tips and tricks to some people before, but had never done any full on training sessions. She was confident she could do it well though. Her father and the other mercenaries she had grown up with had taught her a lot, and by teaching someone else, well that was an opportunity for some of her greatness to rub off on someone else, that way when she did eventually die, as everyone did, her greatness would live on in those she had taught. Plus, helping Brielle be a bit more useful in battle couldn't hurt either. Still, this damned spot was TERRIBLE to begin training.

Emilia's arrival would be announced before she reached the clearing by the sound of clunking armor and a tapestry of curses as she dragged a rather large wheeled box of weapons behind her, getting it stuck several times. Finally she made it though, and set down the handle, letting out a puff of air. Her face a bit red from her exertions and her lamentations. She glared at Brielle. "Look what you made me go through! And we haven't even gotten started yet!" She couldn't hold the glare for long as her face broke out in a grin and she chuckled, turning back to the large crate. She flipped a few hatches and it opened, revealing a weapon rack. "I couldn't bring any of the larger weapons up here in this, but I imagined you wouldn't be too interested in those. So come take a look at what I've got." On the rack were a variety of weapons. On the rack hung a few swords some simple, some quite exotic, including a variety of katana-shaped weapons, a broadsword, twin hooks, and a few others, including a wakizashi . There also hung a mace and a flail, both of which Brielle would have seen Emilia using, a set of nunchaku, a pair of pistols, and various knives, ranging from a simple combat knife or various daggers to more exotic blades like punch daggers and karambits. She also included fist weapons like bladed and brass knuckles and gauntlets, to claw-like. Emilia smiled at the large array of weapons, then frowned. "Crap. I forgot axes." She sighed. "Aww well. Hopefully you don't want to use an axe of some sort. If you really want to I could get some, but first see if there's anything here you like."

A soft puff of air could be heard abruptly resounding through the clearing, a certain raven haired girl turning swiftly to the source... to only be met with a lightly red faced Emilia. The girl released a small gasp from her lips at the crate behind the woman, a pure expression of surprise blooming on her features. What topped off the swirling sea of emotions was the glare that was clearly written on the red haired woman's features. The expression of surprise that had taken place on the electric blue eyed girl was soon replaced with one a child would give when they knew they were in trouble. A frown was replaced by the previous parting of Brielle's lips while promptly retracting her pale hands out of her jacket pockets, shifting them to behind her back as she awaited the Crohil's words to flow forth.

Emilia wrote:"Look what you made me go through! And we haven't even gotten started yet!"

Brielle couldn't help but glance down in utter guilt at the realization that hit her. Indeed, she must have put her through quite a bit. The young girl hadn't the foggiest idea that Emilia would bring so much equipment with her. "G-Gee... I'm sorry, Emilia." The crate seemed to almost overflow with the wide variety of assorted weapons just waiting to be selected within. However, the time and effort it must have taken to bring such a large item up here was sure to be taken into consideration at the fact that it was nothing short of inconvenient upon the teammate standing before her. Although, the look of guilt was soon replaced with youthful eyes widening along with the raise of her head as a laugh escaped Emilia's lips. It was surely a wonderful thing to hear - her friend laughing for that one moment in happiness. It was always something that the raven haired mage would never grow tired of; the smallest of actions could create the brightest of moods to bloom in the warmth of daylight.

The McCloud couldn't deny that the elder woman's laugh was contagious, and she released a soft giggle of her own before jogging over to her side. A few hatches were flipped in an orderly fashion, an array of weapons being revealed. Electric blue eyes widened in utter shock at the large selection that lay before the youngling in the wooden crate. As the red haired woman spoke up once again, capturing Brielle's attention as the girl gazed into her pair of brown orbs, the girl could feel her jaw slowly grow ajar at the sight before her. The selection included weapons from swords and twin hooks to pistols and gauntlets of all sorts. Brielle's fingers gently graced the edge of the wooden box as the gears within her head twisted and turned.

There were so many choices that could provide a varying amount of challenges and future use. Each weapon would carry its own advantages and disadvantages along with an array of helpful use on the battlefield. 'Twas no wonder the use of weapons was so important, and that Emilia offered to teach the girl. It wasn't only a chance to help the mage out in learning how to wield a weapon, but it was only a chance for some of the woman's greatness to rub off on her. It was something that Brielle would certainly take to heart - whatever the lesson turned out to be like. The McCloud's electric blue orbs carried a slight gleam of excitement to them as a smile aligned her pink lips. The broadsword was what had caught her attention.

"Emilia, may I see that sword?"

Brielle's voice was filled with excitement as she gazed up to her friend, her index finger stretched outward to indicate the weapon she was asking about. The girl seemed to receive a good vibe from that sword - as if there was a spark lit in the recesses of her heart as she observed the intricate details of the weapons itself. The raven haired mage decided to follow her instincts and select said sword in hopes of being able to properly wield it while enjoying the presence of her new mentor.

Emi watched Brielle look at the selection of weapons. She wondered what the girl would pick. Probably something bladed and fast. She couldn't imagine her wanting to wield a heavy weapon like a mace or flail. She was honestly thinking she would choose the brass or bladed knuckles, due to her experience with unarmed fighting, which would make it easier to learn to use the fist weapons. He eyes widened a bit in surprise as she chose the broadsword, but she smiled and took it off the rack, holding it by the blade and offering Brielle the handle.

"Sure thing. It's a good weapon, very versatile."

While it would likely be slower than a katana, it was by far more versatile than one. There were many more styles of fighting that could be used with a broadsword. Its size allowed it to be used with two hands or one, and she could, if she desired, use it in conjunction with a shield or shortsword. Though it would be best to teach her at first to wield just the sword. Once Brielle took the sword, she would give her a moment to look it over before speaking again.

"First thing's first. Grab the blade. Don't squeeze it or anything, but take hold of it." While this command might seem strange at first, she hoped Brielle would figure out why she had told her to do so. "Tell me how sharp it feels." The blade would feel sharp, definitely able to cut if swung, but Brielle's hand wouldn't be cut simply by holding it. One thing Emilia wanted to make sure she knew; it was okay to grab the blade, especially if one had a good pair of gloves, which she planned on giving to the girl as well.

The notion of surprise transpired unknown by the youth's eyes. Instead, the girl's attention was completely drowned in the flowing knowledge of the truth on this day - she would learn to start wielding a weapon. Be it the one she chose or another suggested to her by Emilia, the child was grateful for the effort the red haired warrior was putting forth on this day. True that the climb up the cliff must have been nothing short of torturous, but that was only the beginning to what the hours ahead would offer. In the present moment, nothing could teeter Brielle's near childlike excitement. That much was apparent in the vibrancy of her orbs, and the much more outgoing demeanor that was slowly surfacing above the shy cloak that had become second nature.

Emilia's lips seemed to twitch with a fond smile as she promptly grabbed the weapon of choice, offering the broadsword to Brielle by pointing the blade away from her. The hilt was stretching outward, the leather wrapped around suited for comfort once the mage grabbed hold of it. The way her lips stretched downward in curiosity made the McCloud appear almost childlike, matching the widened spark within her electric blue orbs. The mage hadn't ever thought of receiving the opportunity to wield a sword such as this before, and it was apparent by the expression blanketing her features that it was a strange feeling. The design of the sword was elegant yet simple - nothing too flashy or fancy. It was suited to the girl's taste as she observed the detailing of the weapon within her grasp. 'Twas a bit heavy for someone of her stature but training would fix that with time if all worked well.

Emilia wrote:"First thing's first. Grab the blade. Don't squeeze it or anything, but take hold of it. Tell me how sharp it feels."

Glancing upward at her new teacher, Brielle seemed to nod as locks of black hair swayed along. It was within those moments that the girl fixated herself into a stance while assuming the position she deemed was correct. It was only the first step into figuring out of this weapon was fit. Inside the McCloud's mind, the command was indeed a bit strange, but the youth trusted Emilia's words and judgement. It was when she had gotten into a comfortable stance that she had outstretched her hand to slowly grasp the blade itself. The contact of the metal against her pale skin was cool, yet sharp. It caused a strange sensation along the skin as she hadn't felt a weapon of this sort before. Glancing up to Emilia, Brielle released the strain off her eyes once or twice before her soft pitched voice resounded past her lips with genuine interest.

"This is rather sharp, Emilia. I can already tell that I'd best be careful with this weapon, otherwise I may cause harm to someone - or something - that doesn't deserve it."

Emilia watched as Brielle took the blade. She seemed fascinated by it. The woman had a feeling the girl would end up liking the weapon quite a bit. She did make note that it was a bit large for her, but she would grow into it. Starting to teach her at this age would surely lead to her becoming a force to be reckoned with in the future, if only for her skills with the blade. She nodded at her remark regarding the sharpness of the blade.
"That's right. Sharp enough to kill, but also dull enough to grab if you're careful. Just don't slide your hand along the edge. A good set of gloves will make it relatively easy to grab the blade safely, which, you may actually end up doing later on. Now, just hold it. Let it rest in your hands, swing it around for a bit. Just get a feeling of the weight and balance. Once you've done that, you can put it back and we can get started." Emilia would wait for her to examine the blade and get a feel for it to her heart's content. Once Brielle put it back, Emilia would continue on to start the lesson. "Before you can start to fight with a sword, you have to learn to move. While some sword techniques can have some more advanced footwork, the one I'm going to teach you is pretty simple." She smiled. "You seem to know a fair bit about fighting, so I'm sure you'll get it down pretty quickly."
