       Personality: Despite his Dark history Zetsu tries his best to look on the bright side of everything he is carefree and reckless in nature, and, despite his consistent brawls with the other members of Fairy Tail, he is a fiercely loyal and protective friend. He is willing to go down fighting for his friends, regardless of how futile it might seem. Zetsu has a straightforward mind, and often tackles issues with a "hands on" approach. His solution to problems often involve violence. Even when disrespected or faced with obvious hostility, Zetsu rarely ever reciprocates the feelings, and often forgoes grudge-holding. He occasionally shows compassion for his enemies, Zetsu often exhibits any perversity towards the opposite sex.

A curious individual, Zetsu's main goal in life is to simply have as much fun as he can while keeping people safe, and he does so with a certain style that so very few people can match, or even understand. He has a certain flair, a certain aplomb to everything he does, and he tries to enjoy as much of life as he can, regardless of the situation around him. While it may seem like he takes very little stuff seriously, and that he is basically a big layabout who just enjoys the pleasures of life -whatever they may be for him- he is in fact very mindful of his duties, especially to those less fortunate than him in various means. He spends a lot of his time helping those people, only stepping back to have some fun whenever they are better off, be it short or longer termed help. However he does have the irksome habit of trying to make jokes out of everything, even very serious situations, and this does sometimes earn him some anger from those around him.

His eccentricities don't stop there though, oh no. He is a shameless self-promoter and brims with confidence. But it's not that 'ooh let's not mess with him, he's scary' confidence, it is more the 'hey he looks like a nice guy' type, the kind that makes people in trouble come up to him and ask for his help, or just to encourage people to ease up around him and let themselves feel free to say whatever they like. It is also extremely, extremely difficult to insult him, as he usually laughs uproariously when people try, and when he takes it seriously he usually inquires further into their motives, trying to see beyond the barefaced name-calling that they may put against him and into their minds, where they keep their motivations. He likes to keep people at ease, and often refers to people he's never met before as 'neighbor', something that often stuns people, but in a good way. His neighborhood is very wide, in fact it's the whole world, because he is a wizard, and always will be.

But there are darker aspects to Zetsu that most people wouldn't suspect - an oppressive, almost 'evil' aspect to him that only comes about during one kind of situation; combat. He tries to avoid it wherever he can, as he knows what happens to him when he gets drawn into a fight, but he wont insult people by just refusing to fight them if they persist in trying to make him. What's more he is a clever man, not one to always fight if the situation requires it, and he will gladly run from a foe he knows he cannot beat rather than even bother trying to engage them. But when he does fight, something changes in him, something just seems to snap. He remains calm and cool in a combat until the first hit is made, until first blood is drawn, and then he truly lives up to his moniker "The Laughing Demon" in every way. Foes have even been known to back away from a combat with him mid-fight rather than allow blood to be drawn if they know his reputation, because nobody really wants to die the way that Zetsu wants them to if he senses blood...

He goes berserk. No, that's not quite it. He goes beyond berserk, hitting a state of mind that can only truly be called 'demonic'. As his mind snaps into a form of hyper rage, he becomes obsessed with the complete and utter decimation of his foe, be it quickly or slowly, painlessly or painfully. As long as they end up on the ground in a heap of blood and broken body-parts he will be satisfied. What's worse is that he seems to truly enjoy combat; his entire being seems to light up the instant that blood is spilled, and he gains a huge almost maniacal grin on his face as he fights with a vigor that surpasses his normally studied, careful combat style. He disregards all wounds made to him, fighting a foe beyond the point of reason as he takes the fight as boldly to them as he can, laughing all the while. He will gladly take damage to his body if it will help him move into a position to take down a foe, and he pulls no punches ever, using any and every trick possible to help him beat a foe into the ground. And he goes beyond basic attacks and wounds; he thoroughly obliterates anyone, no matter who they were. In essence, he loses his mind when blood is drawn, so it will always be wise to avoid that in his presence if possible. Normally he doesn't even enjoy combat directly, he prefers to manipulate others from the shadows with his magic, but if he is harmed... well... we all know how that goes.

Above all that, there is a serious side to Zetsu that is rarely seen, if ever, as he usually only broods about it when he is alone. There are events in his past that he is not proud of, events that happened around him that he was unable to stop, and it is maybe these things in his history that have resulted in his overwhelming desire to help those around him in as selfless a way as he can. He was only partially responsible for some of these events and completely responsible for only one, but his responsibility in any of those events has lead him to be introverted when alone, as he spends his time wondering if he might have been able to change the things that happened, the things that have made him the way he is. He is not obsessed by the past though, despite how he usually acts when alone; he simply longs and wishes with all his heart that he could change the things that happened, both the bad and the short-term good things that turned out bad for everyone involved in them...
