Serpent Soul's Escort in the Desert!(Job)(Potato and Kihia)

Kihia found himself at a very familiar spot, he was sitting in some shade created by some drapes hung up alongside one of the houses, he sighed he had recently sent off his trench coat to a very expierenced tailor, so instead he was simply wearing a for the most part his normal attire with the exception that his shirt was a sleeveless grey T-shirt. Kihia had a large backpack on the ground next to him, it contained enough desert survival rations to last a few weeks in this desert. Kihia sighed and patted the Geruks which were in leather sheaths attached to his waist and then looked down at Icarus which was leaning against his back pack.

The main difference this time was instead of Cyrus, he had taken up this job with his fellow teammate Quincy. He sighed, however one thing seemed not to have changed… the clients failing punctuality… this time however the client had kept them waiting for far more than just one hour this time. This man certainly enjoys taking his time… I only hope that this incident hasn’t… made his condition worse than it was the last time we met… Kihia remembered the last time, He had escorted this very same merchant across the desert, endured a sandstorm, fought of a legendary colossal scorpion as well as many smaller creatures. Kihia shook his head and looked outwards towards the desert remembering that trek across the sandy wastes.

Kihia sighed, “Where is our client…” He waited a while more hoping Quincy’s patience wouldn’t blow a fuse as they waited for their client. After a while Kihia heard a somewhat familiar sound. The rustling, jangling, and heavy footsteps of a man who was carrying something far larger than themselves. “Quincy… it seems the client has finally decided to arrive… best gather your things and get ready to move…” Kihia stood up and reached down and slung his backpack on and grabbed Icarus, and walked out of the shade. He saw the bumbling merchant he had met only once before, however this time it seemed a few more nuts had been broken loose in the mans mind as well as he seemed to have lost more weight.

The man cackled a bit and said, “OH hello there young man! So nice to see you again! I hope you don’t mind another trip out into the desert! Well… I hope that you are… I was kinda worried you had left me after I searched for you all around the village all this time….” Kihia shook his head and sighed, “I thought I had mention in the letter I sent to you, that we would meet up in the town at the same place as last time….”

Quincy is walked in the dessert with her hair all pony tailed up and in a tanned potato sack made to act like a sun protector. It was actually quite difficult to even tell that it was a potato sack used in general. She wore it sown perfectly to act as a robe, hood and all. Her gloves were actually removed for once and she wasn't even wearing an ounce of red in any shade other than her eyes. In her bag matching her robes she carried several canteens. Seven to be exact and only one of them were filled with something other than water. It was a gift a crazy man gave her from a few days ago. He said it was a love potion but she knew it probably was just alcohol. Other than the canteens were several thing of bread and baked potatoes.

She came to the small village after finishing her walk around to see Kihia talking to somebody she had never seen before. The man seemed to be carrying a sack nearly twice his size on his back. She didn't say anything other than raising an eyebrow with a questioning gaze. "Ah and who is this young flower? She is with you right? Cause if she wasn't I would feel pretty.....well I wouldn't say stupid, more of...... Hmmmmm whats the word?" "Embarrassed?" "Ha yes that's the word! Thank you my dear." Quincy shuffled her way to Kihia and whispered in his ear "And you thought I talk a lot."

"And to answer your question earlier young lad. I think I may have skipped over that part to where you said you would help me." Quincy yet again raised her eyebrow in question. "You worked with this guy before? I honestly thought you would have killed him or leave him out in the wasteland or something. I mean there is only enough room for a single talkative nuisance in this area. Sure I might be able to keep up.... wait you what do you think is the best form of vegetation?" "Why I think the best form is in the form of a root named potato." "Never mind I think we should keep this one."

The man dropped his bag on Quincy yelling "GREAT! Hold this while I search for the map." She squealed as the heavy weight made her fall under the weight. He was suprissingly strong if he carried these bags around like they were nothing. He dug out the map and started to draw on it "Alright last time we were here we searched this area. Now I believe that we should check this one now. Like before its going to be tough and we will have several creepy crawlies on the way there." Just as Quincy crawled her way out of the bag the merchant closed the map yelling "Alright are we ready to leave?" And before any of them said anything he started walking off. "He yells a lot doesn't he?"

Kihia sighed after he heard Quincy’s comment about the client, “Yes… Cyrus and I escorted him out into the desert searching for the last Caravan this same merchant lost… back then however… he was in a… more stable state of mind… and Quincy… do not joke about killing someone… if you a kill a person… even if they are evil… how will they be able to repent for the crimes they committed… for the people… the hurt… and… how does that make you any better… than them…?” Kihia tightened his grip on Icarus remembering the pain one individual had dealt to him… pain so deep it took years to even begin to heal… I will find that man one day… and I will make sure he comes to repent for what he has done… or make sure he can’t continue his own way of living… I only wish… that when that day comes… I have the restraint… not to kill him…

Kihia shook his head removing those thoughts from his head, Now is not time to be thinking of that man… Kihia looked towards the Merchant and took off after the crazed man, “To fill you in on what we may encounter in this desert Quincy… there are large Scorpion’s about as big as yourself… then there are large basilisks… which are bigger than your average fishing boat… and the last thing I am aware of… are legendary colossal scorpions… Cyrus and I took one of those out last time… it had hidden itself below the sand quite well… so best be on your guard…” Kihia continued on following the merchant keeping his senses sharp to what was going on around him, he was their best hope if a sandstorm popped up again and he was going to make sure the that none of the wildlife tried to get a jump on them.

After a while of traveling the bumbling merchant finally started a conversation of importance, “So my boy how have you been?? How has the other lad… um… Cyan…. Cyrak….Cyus? Anywho how is he doing?? Have you been fighting the good fight and such, making money and saving people like little old me?” Kihia sighed, why am I not surprised the man didn’t even remember our names……… He then glanced over to the client and said, “Cyrus is doing very well, he is often busy doing missions but as far as I am aware he is doing just fine… as for myself… I am doing good for the most part… trying to keep a rigorous training schedule to be able to help the Guild when I am called upon…" Kihia then noticed something shining in the sand and bent down to pick it up…

Quincy yawned and stretched her arms into the air but still made sure no sand got into her mouth from a small gust of wind. Then she noticed that Kihia picked something shiny off the ground. "Looks like a piece of junk you find in the trash." She chimed in as he brushed the sand off of it. "What do you think.....Uhm what was your name anyways?" The merchant raised his finger and pressed his other hand on his chest with his eyes closed to speak matter of factly "Good thing you asked, the one thing that your friend and the other lad who helped me never even bothered to learn. I am known around as the jack of all trades. But you can call me Varick."

Quincy raised an eyebrow as they started to walk into the desert. This man was definitely stranger than anyone she has met in her travels by far. He was just so familiar to her but she wasn't able to put a finger on exactly why. "So what exactly are we looking for again?" The merchant just shrugged and pointed to Kihia signaling that he knows what they are looking for. "So on the travels I have decided to tell stories with many of my collogues that I meet on the way. Would any of you two be interested in sharing a story?" He looked at both of the  mages with an interesting gaze. Quincy glanced at Kihia and said "I think I would like to start."

"There once was a young man who loved to sing and dance. His voice was told to be an echo of those of all innocence. One day an older woman took that man as a prisoner and forced him to sing for her at anytime. While a prisoner the young boy met another boy named Devin. After years of singing the boy refused to sing for that boy. The woman didn't like that and demanded the boy to sing. When he refused to sing the woman had Devin executed in front of the boy. The boy watched in sadness and started to sing for his fallen friend. His voice quavered as he sang but his voice was so powerful that the walls around him came down and set him free." A single tear came down from Quincies eyes after taking a breath. "Well there is my story."

She wiped her tear out of her face as she looked at Kihia hoping he understood the story. What the story was a glimpse into her past. Sure the base of the story was changed along with every form of violence but the execution. The point of the story was to continue what Kihia told her when he told her his opinion on killing. She hoped he understood that even if you refuse to do something it may have adverse affects on what you were hoping to do. Suddenly she saw something moving under the sand. "Uhm Kihia what is that?"

'Monster Dice' :

Kihia looked at Quincy from the corner of his eye with a good deal of concern, he had a feeling why she said why she did, he sighed and shook his head, I wonder… what scars… may be hidden in Lamia Scale… that are hidden from view… Kihia then stopped for a moment and looked at the horizon, “I am sorry to say… I am not much of a story teller but I do have a small piece… There was once a community... that stood thirty three strong... then a violent wind blew... which left only one..." Kihia tightened his left hand into a fist, when he heard Quincy suddenly ask something.

Kihia looked down and saw the sand beneath them start to move. He gauged the size of the creature underneath the sands, “Basilisk! Move!” Kihia pushed the client out of the way and then jumped into the air as a very large Basilisk erupted from the sands. Kihia touched his left for arm with his right hand and said, “Frozen Armor Creation!” The left Gauntlet from Ice make Knight formed as he started to fall down towards where the head of the basilisk was going to be. As he approached Kihia lifted his left hand up and slammed it down on top of the large lizard’s head driving it into the ground blowing up a lot of sand in the process.

Kihia jumped backward after he landed, he watched as the Basilisk squirmed and struggled trying to get over the shock of what just hit it. He then glanced over towards the merchant to make sure he was okay, the crazed man simply had gotten his head stuck in the sand, he then turn his head to Quincy to make sure she was doing well. Kihia then noticed the Basilisk had righted itself and charged at Kihia. So a head ache isn’t enough for you… so be it… Kihia poised himself ready to catch the large lizard as it charged. Kihia managed to catch the lizard with one hand on the snout and the other on the lip of the jaw. He slid back for a moment as he tried to make it so that the Basilisk would lose its momentum and enter into a state of tug of war essentially trying to gain more ground.

Kihia stood there keeping the basilisk’s mouth wide open glaring into the mouth of the lizard itself. “Quincy… Why don’t I let you have the honors…” He then spun around taking the large Basilisk along with the spin, he then let go of the basilisk sending it flying into the air. I don’t like those things… to much trouble for their size… anyways… Quincy will probably not like not getting a hit in…

Quincy watched on the sidelines as Kihia fought against the giant basilisk. She crossed her arms in frustration he looked like he was having fun when fighting the creature. She looked around and started to make a small seat in the sand so she can watch the show without having to tire her legs out from standing in the sand lands. She fidgeted with whatever she could inside of her cloak when she realized something from inside of it that she kept on her because of some crazy guy. She pulled out a canteen with the supposed "Love potion" and opened its cap. After taking in a strong whiff of it and took a sip. After the sip every hair in the young wizard stood up and her face lit up a bright red color that almost matched her eyes. It was extremely strong and she was not expecting it.

The merchant went up to the young lamia scale wizard in question to what she was carrying. "May I?" the crazed man inquired signaling the flask she was holding in her hands. Quincy didn't say anything as she held the "Potion" out for the man to take it. He grasped it in his hands as he took a whiff himself and took his huge gulp. He just downed the entire flask and let out a hearty sigh after drinking it all. "I see you got this from the man in town. The man is horrid at making potions but amazing at making strong liquor. Oh looks like your friend is talking to you."

Quincy straightened her look as she stood up and Kihia asked for her to finish the beast off. She just laughed "I thought you would never ask! I finally get to show off something I had been working on!" She brushed the sand off of her butt and then took in a deep breath. She closed her eyes as she started to move her right hand in a circular motion. Sparks started to emit off of her arms and materialize into a ball in her hand. The light around her started to fade as it became part of the ball. "Static Railgun!" With the final motion of her arms moving forward like she was throwing something a giant bolt of lightning struck through the beast in the middle of the air. She opened her eyes and danced around yelling "Yay it worked! High five!" She followed through with her high five connected with the merchant. She finally did her first ranged attack. "It's not every day you get to see a small girl like yourself do something so awe inspiring! But I think its just the drink you gave me that is talking. But lets get going we are almost there! Just this way!" He called out at last heading in the direction they needed to go.

Kihia gently smiled as he watched Quincy Celebrate over her first successful ranged spell, “Nice work Quincy, that will certainly help you with your future fights…” He looked down at his left hand at the ice gauntlet that was on his left arm. Magic is an interesting thing… it allows us wondrous abilities, which can be used for good things… as well as evil… After this thought Kihia tightened his right hand into a fist and turned to look at the client and Quincy, what he saw made his right eyebrow twitch.

The client had begun to drain the container Quincy had handed him, when he finished he exhaled and tossed the container aside, He just drank… an entire container of liquor… please help us… Kihia watched as Varik started to swing back and forth, as well as starting to hiccup. “Quincy… what have you done…?” Kihia watched in horror as the client started walking off into the desert without them, “We must make….hic…. due haste, to the desert wastes we go finding my dead… hic… companions!” Kihia quickly motioned Quincy to follow, and took off after their crazed, and now drunk client.

“Quincy… next time we are on an escort mission… don’t share any foreign substances with the client…” Kihia sighed, the past thirty minutes had been extraneous keeping up with the clients nonstop pace. “We must get there before Sun- hic – set, keep up the pace every-“ Varik suddenly tripped and fell face first into the sand, Kihia sighed and walked over to him and picked him out of the sands, “Varik… it may be best to slow down… we don’t need to be hasty trying to get there… the faster we go the more monster traps we are bound to encounter…” Varik hung there for a moment, and a sweat drop appeared comically on his head, “Erm… Fair point my boy- hic… I would hate to see one of those colossal scorpions once again… hic, well if we do…. I am sure you can take it out just as easy as before…” Kihia shook his head and sighed, He forgot the fact Cyrus had gotten hit by the stinger of that scorpion and he had to administer the antidote… Kihia looked up at the horizon checking the weather to make sure another sandstorm doesn’t catch the group of guard. He then placed Varik back on his feet, and looked at Quincy, “Lets get moving… who knows what other animals may be lurking underneath the sands…” Kihia had started getting a bad feeling that something was approaching them, he started to walk towards the direction of the reported site, when he saw the sand beneath them start to stir up once again, “Quincy, Varik! We have company!”

'Monster Dice' :

Quincy danced around in victory for her first ranged spell. She was just so proud of herself because she is now officially useful against people at long ranges with no way to reach them. Especially since the spell itself doesn't take long to charge up and has an extremely large distance. When she stopped her dancing she heard one thing that caught her ear like a glass bottle breaking against concrete. She turned her head to the three creatures that seamed to just appear over the sand dunes.

"Looks like these guys aren't fond of what we did to their friend..... This should be fun." She commented to herself as she cracked her knuckles and stepped towards them. She bent down into a sprinting position with both of her hands on the floor like she was ready to make a dash for the enemies, which was the exact plan she had. Before taking off she tapped both of her heels with her finger tips causing an arc of electricity jolt from her arms onto her legs. Her tesla hunter spell arced off her legs readying her for an intense charge.

She let out a deep breath as soon as she put pressure on her left leg as it pressing into the sand. The ground beneath her foot created a crater about three feet in diameter and a few inches deep. She took off like a bat out of hell piercing the pale sands with her dark figure. Her legs switched from behind her from the takeoff to in front of her so that she could land on one of the basilisk following with a large kick onto its forehead launching her right up to the scorpion. Though while in the air the scorpion had its stinger ready to sting her from the air. Its point almost made contact with Quins neck when suddenly her arms launched our and gripped the tail in a split second pushing her towards the ground next to the beast. From the ground she lifted her right leg so high in the air that she almost lifted herself into the air again just to bring it out on the outer shell of the arachnids horrifying side. It made a sound like a hissing squeal as it became limp. "That was close!" She said as she turned towards the two basilisks that she launched herself past.

"Bravo young lady!" She said clapping while adding a hiccup every so often. He turned to Kihia with a smile on his face "She has a lot of kick doesn't she? I would hate to be on her bad side." He turned again to the ebon child and continued his cheering from the sidelines like this was some sort of fighting match. At the same time Quincy glanced down to something shiny in the sand and picked it up like she was forgetting the two other beasts right there.

'Normal Dice' :

Kihia gently smiled at Variks comment, “If you think her kicks are good… her punches will surely surprise you… but now if you can excuse me…” Kihia then ran forward towards the two basilisks and whipped out Icarus, Time for me to assist Quincy in this myself… He ran up to one of the basilisks and slammed Icarus against the basilisks lower jaw making it start to flip backward from the force. Kihia then quickly released his hold on Icarus with his right hand and grabbed one of the basilisks legs and yanked it back down to slam it into the ground. The large basilisk hissed in pain and shot out its head in an attempt to bite Kihia’s leg, he quickly counteracted this by jumping into the air directly above the downed lizard hold Icarus vertically behind him pointed towards the Basilisk.

In the split second he was in the air, he grabbed Icarus again with his right hand and drew back his left hand to the back of Icarus, “Ice Make… Longbow!” The ice bow quickly formed in his hands as well as formed being fully drawn, You will no longer cause anyone any trouble… He then released Icarus from the bow, firing it off point blank at the base of the basilisk’s neck, killing it. He landed on the ground behind the basilisk as the bow itself dissipated back into magical particles. One down… He then turned to see the last Basilisk running towards a distracted Quincy. “No you don’t!” Kihia quickly took off towards the Basilisk managing to catch up to it with little issue.

Kihia then jumped up and over the Basilisk unsheathing the Geruks in the process while doing a front flip. “Ice Make… Dual Sword breakers!” The two swords quickly formed on his weapons, he then extended the twin ice swords out to slice across the back of the basilisk as he flew through the air above it. Kihia then landed on the Lizards head forcing it to come skidding to a halt in the sand, “Quincy! Stay focused! This desert’s creatures are relentless.” Kihia lowered his center of gravity to maintain the center of balance in the basilisks head, he then thrust the swords behind the two forelegs of the basilisk to make it so the blunt side of the blades were against them. Kihia then executed a backflip to drive the lizard up into the air. When he landed on the ground he threw the twin ice swords at the sides of the basilisk who was now in the air, “Quincy have the honors of finishing this one off! Feel free to use the Geruks as lightning rods to amplify the damage you deal to the Lizard!”

Upon investigation of the item that Quincy picked up she noticed that it was a great pair of bladed gauntlets made of an iron alloy that would most likely be able to help her in a fight. After staring at it intently for a while she brushed some of the sand off of it so she can get a better look only to see a reflection of the large lizard running at her only to be stopped by her ally. She put the items onto her belt where they actually fit surprisingly well. Next Quincy decided to finish the beast off in style so she crouched down low and then back flipped into the air to the point she was almost on top of the beast. The lightning that emanated from her legs started arcing to the two weapons that Kihia had thrown next to the basilisk. She delivered a final double leg kick onto the skull of the creature as lightning arced in a flash through the beast and Quincies legs.

As she stepped off of him the creature let out a final hiss and a plume of smoke. [color]"Mmmmm love the smell of roasted crock in the morning. Oh Kihia you might not want to pick up those swords for a while cause you might shock yourself."[/color] After the comment she let out a light whimper as the lightning stopped eminating from her legs leaving a light burn on them. One of the disadvantages of using her kind of magic. Just before she forgot she took the gauntlets off of her belt and handed them to the merchant "So what are these exactly? I know they are old and probably worth quite a bit but I was wondering if they are still usable?"

"Ah these!" Varick stopped himself and then reached into his pack and pulled out a pair of reading glasses so that he can inspect the item thoroughly. "Well these are a type of weapon called a Katar they are used like fist weapons. Most common of the type are brass knuckles and honestly Quincy I think you should hold onto this, it might be a good tool to have on you for the future even though I can clearly see you can hand yourself." He finished while moving his head signaling the roasted Basilisk.

"Oh that is cool I will definitely hold onto these. Though I will start using them once we are done with what we need. You know so I could learn how to use them after we are out of harms way." That was probably one of the most reasonable thing she had said in a while. "Is it alright if we sit down for a bit? I think we all should have a water break before our final stretch." She plopped down onto the ground and pulled out a canteen of water and gulped it down. It was a good thing she packed several of them. After taking her first couple of gulps she shook the can leaving a little bit of water on it so that she could drop a bit of it on her legs for the burns she just got.

Kihia chuckled slightly at Quincy’s warning and walked over to the basilisk that head Icarus sticking out of it and pulled it out of the animal. He examined it for a moment and then walked over to the well-cooked lizard, and pulled up his right sleeve, “Good thing that ice… doesn’t conduct electricity that well…” Kihia then reached out and grabbed Geruko with his right hand, the purple electricity arcing a bit before being redirected into the lizard, he nodded and dispelled the ice sword on Geruko and placed it onto the ground and then did the same for Geruka. Kihia then sat down on the ground. “Good idea Quincy… however we should be quick about this… we are not too far off from our destination…” Kihia then placed his weapons in front of him and brought out two canteens of water and a cleaning cloth. He drank out of one of the canteens and started to clean off the blood of the lizards off Icarus and the Geruks.

It is good to see that Quincy got something useful out of this endeavor… perhaps some training is in order… Kihia then looked towards Varik who had been poking the overcooked lizard, “Hmph too overcooked, all the good meat is burnt.” Kihia then looked back at his weapons and then finished cleaning them off, he then proceeded to sheath the Geruks back into the leather harness. “So Varik… what are we looking for this time from your last caravan?” Varik suddenly jumped at the question, hesitating before he answered, “Well um… Well you see…. I think it was… salt? A few bags of salt… that the leader of the desert village had been expecting…” Kihia sat there with a very annoyed look on his face, as well as his right eyebrow twitched a few times, “We are coming out here… for a few bags of salt that may no longer be intact… Varik… after this I think you should probably go into an early retirement…” Varik was taken aback from this and drooped down disappointed, he raised a finger like he was going to make a reply and waited a moment, “Perhaps… Kihia you may be right… this will probably be my last venture into the desert as a merchant… OH I know I will probably retire to Oak town, nothing bad happens there right??” Kihia sighed, atleast Varik is upbeat about the idea, now we just got to get him to the lost caravan site and back without any serious issues... Kihia began to get up when he noticed something in the sand, before he checked it out, he said, “Quincy lets get moving… the corpses of the basilisk may draw unwanted attention…”

Quincy facepalmed as Varick told them what he was doing out in the middle of the dessert with his caravans. She honestly had the gut feeling to punch Varick dead in the skull for his idiocy for dragging two mages into the middle of god knows where to find small grains of salt. She took her hand off of her face and looked at Kihia in the eyes as he told her that they should leave because of the corpse they had created. "Do you think I overdone it?" She pointed her thumb behind her towards the crisped lizard. Varick just tapped her on the shoulder and nodded yes. She looked on forwards to the seemingly endless desert. "God this is so boring. How much longer until we get there? I have watched paint dry faster than we are finding this damned caravan. And why again are we looking for salt in the middle of the desert? Its probably the most ironic and stupidest idea I have ever heard of. And Im the one saying that! I mean you should hear the crazy ideas that just pour out of my mouth for no apparent reason. I put infomercials on the lacrima radio to shame!"

Quincys rant went on for a while as the sun set behind them in the desert. She hated walking out here and she most likely had gotten at least two shades darker just by being in the sun. She couldn't tell how, but Kihia and Varick looked exactly the same even though they were far more under dressed than she was. She was upset until she finally asked Varick "How is it that you two don't burn or tan? Its like a miracle because you two are so light skinned." Varick laughed and pulled out a tube with the label "Sun Protection!" "Its from the shop back in town, they sell it for people who are traveling the desert for long distances. It protects your skin from harmful rays and sunburns."

Quincy scowled at how she wasn't told of this. She tried to cross her arms while at it but she ended up hurting herself even more with a sunburn that she had developed. That would be very painful and something she was not looking forward to in the near future. She started to wish that she had not left her coat back where the basilisks were. It would be better sweating under that thing compared to burning in this blistering sun which just finished setting. "Are we there yet?!" "Soon my dear. Soon." And for the next few minutes she kept on asking the same thing hoping to get a rise out of someone. This trip was fun at the beginning but it turned into one of the most boring jobs she has taken.

Kihia shook his head, “Cooking wise perhaps… but to finish it off not really…” He then listened to Quincy’s rant about what they were out to recover, he sighed and shook his head, “Easy Quincy… in the desert Salt is actually a very precious commodity… giving those who live in the environment a way to preserve meats and other food items that tend to go bad after a while…” Kihia then nodded and they continued on walking for a bit when Quincy asked another question, he thought about the question for a second, “Well… to be entirely honest I have no idea…” Kihia then continued walking in silence for a while.

Soon the Sun had set, leaving the moon to slowly rise and take its place in the night time sky. Kihia felt the temperature start to quickly drop to near freezing temperatures, Kihia was unphased by this as he was used to freezing temperatures, when He heard Quincy’s last question he sighed and looked around. The area they were in seemed highly familiar, and it had a very large dent in between the sand dunes. “We may be here actually… Varik may I ask what took out your Caravan this time?” Kihia had asked this as he walked forward a bit, up and over a sand dune, “Um… I am not quite sure… it was something big…” Varik continued on for a few minutes however Kihia had zoned him out as he had a bad feeling, he knelt down to the sand and dusted a part of it away. What he uncovered made him freeze, he then slowly reached into his trench coat and unsheathed the Geruks, I store within these weapons Ice Make Gauntlets… Kihia then slowly turned to Quincy and threw her the weapons, “Put these on your fore arms and tap the centers… after I give the signal make sure you get Varik somewhere safe… once that is done… assist me… with this issue…” Kihia unsheathed Icarus and held it in both of his hands, “Ice Make Glaive…” The ice glaive blade formed and he focused on the hard carapace he had uncovered, “Quincy go now!” Kihia then jumped up high into the air raising Icarus above his head, as he came down he plunged the weapon into the carapace, after a second a loud hissing like roar echoed throughout the area.

The next thing one a person could see was the sand in the entire area being thrown up, as a truly gigantic mass of insect erupted out of the sands, it was a colossal scorpion, one like the one Kihia had fought before with Cyrus, but this one seemed to be considerably bigger and older, This isn’t going to be an easy fight…!

'Monster Dice' :

At the signal Quincy wrapped one arm around Varicks stomach and ran for a good two minutes at her highest speed possible while carrying him. Her small legs have sure carried her for such a far distance, especially without her Tesla Hunter active. After dropping him she slid across the sand leaving a trail that was ten feet long with her hands still digging into the sand to stop her. Her legs started to move and her arms started emitting her purple lightning. Her dark skin was hidden in the darkness of night only leaving two large whips made of electricity to emit from her arms. "Haywire Whips!" She called out as she sprinted and then started to hover letting lightning arc out of her legs lifting her into the air.

Her speed cause sand to create a tunnel around her as she closed in on the giant beast. The beast was so large that its teeth for some reason were the size oh her torso. She started to gyrate letting the whips spin behind her as she gained momentum towards the giant scorpion. Just before she reached the scorpion, she stopped spinning and readied both whips ready for a large lash. Thunder crashed into the ground as the whips made contact as hard as they could. It didn't do much to the scorpion mentally, but it did leave a gash about four inches deep into its shell while it was still arcing electricity.

"This is going to be tough....... Kihia I have a plan! I hold him off while you get his underside or between his shell like at the legs or something!" She whipped the tail away from striking her. She gritted her teeth as she was knocked back just by deflecting that hit. She used one of the whips to wrap around the tail and used it to swing back around the beast to lash at the already cut shell piece from the previous attack. She let go and used the velocity to launch the whip that was wrapped around the tail towards the face of the beast. The damned this was still unphased by the attacks. "I will destroy you beast!" 'I hope I can at least....' She jumped back onto the shell of the scorpion and did her best to keep it distracted for Kihia to deliver a stronger hit to the scorpions weak spots. Suddenly while she was dancing around on the things back two large pincers latched onto her blocking her arms from moving at all. She let out a yelp of pain but managed to slip her way out of it. In the darkness no one would be able to tell that the pincers had taken a large chunk of her skin and practically disabled her left arm. She could move the whips on it, but she would not be able to take another hit like that or activate her closed circuit ability.

Kihia stayed in a kneeling position as the colossal scorpion rose up out of the sands, when the massive finally stopped rising up Kihia stood up and pulled Icarus out of the shell of the scorpion. He looked around and examined the back of this particular colossal Scorpion, various parts of it had a layer of rock embedded into it, Kihia frowned and looked up at the tail seeing it slowly curl into the natural position a scorpion’s tail would fall back to. This one isn’t moving to strike me with it’s tail… this one definitely wiser than the last… Kihia then heard Quincy yell at him over the hissing of the scorpion, aim for one of the joints… not a bad plan… be safe though Quincy… Kihia then turned back at the tail, the colossal scorpion hadn’t been using it much for some odd reason, if it isn’t using the tail what will it be- Kihia’s thought processes were interrupted by a loud scream coming from the front of the scorpion Quincy!!

Kihia quickly ran up to the front of the section of the scorpion only to see Quincy had been caught in one of the Colossal scorpion’s pincers, “QUINCY!” Kihia watched as she managed to break free but without serious injury to herself, “Why you…!” Kihia pointed the glaive blade skyward as it started to glow brightly, the glaive blade started to grow immensely in size, “You have messed with the wrong person! No One hurts my friends!” Kihia then did a downward swing across the joint of the pincer slicing through it and cutting off the pincer arm entirely. As Kihia finished the swing, the giant ice glaive blade shattered… I am not letting you off that easy… Kihia started to run towards the other pincer joint and started to spin Icarus, “Ice Make Ring!!” Kihia stopped right at the joint and held Icarus above himself parallel to the back of the scorpion, “I fuse these two spells together, Ice Make Spear Storm and Ice Make Spiral Blade! When combined they form Ice Make Whirkai! Spiraling blade of the Blizzard!!” The ice spears shot out on a horizontal plane from the ice ring and flying for a short distance before nine sets of two curved together to form the outline of nine extremely large blades. Then the entire outline suddenly glowed very brightly and intensely forming eighteen blades, two layers of blades sitting on top of each other bending slightly outward. The ice then filled to make the blade a single piece of solid ice, the diameter of the blade came to six meters.

Kihia stood there for a moment and then started to spin Icarus which inturn slowly started to spin the giant Whirkai blade, “This is for hurting Quincy!” Kihia then swung Icarus down while keeping the rotation going proceeded to saw through the Scorpion’s pincer. The giant monster hissed out extremely loudly, and instinctively tried to strike Kihia with its tail, however it got caught on the spinning blade and started to get caught into, “Quincy if you can still do your plan do it now, I don’t know how long I can manage this spell! If you can’t I will do my best to clean things up!”

"What do you think im trying to do?! This bugger is freaking huge!" Quincy started jumping round the top of the beast keeping her balance as it flailed around in Kihia's spell. Her arm was pretty much useless at this point, the old way she got it to move was swinging her torso as she jumped. That's when it hit her, use the twist to swing her arm and activate closed circuit one last time. She did exactly that and started to hit the good pincer of the scorpion with her one arm. It swung her back but her bad arm fell into the gash she made earlier making the monster release another hiss in pain. She got a bright smile on her face as she called out to Kihia "Hold him still I got a new plan!"

She got up and grabbed onto the gash with closed circuit on her good hand and pulled back as hard as she could actually tearing apart the armor protecting its softer body. The hiss was extremely loude and almost deafening. Her heart raced as she removed the armor. "Kihia back off you might get hurt if you are still touching it!" she called again just in case because she couldn't see him. Quincy ran back about a good five feet before she started to lift into the air with her lightning arcing off of her body to keep her in the air. Her closed circuit spell wore off and her good arm started to wind up again.

She was a goof fifty feet in the air before she started to fall. While falling her right arm was winding up a great ball of electricity nearly the size of Quincy's torso and it was only getting bigger as she fell. Once she was ten feet from the scorpion again she called out "Static Railgun!" The lightning ball in her hand went down with her in a bright light revealing quincy completely. She threw it at point blank into the hole in the armor of the scorpion with the sound of a thunder clap that could be heard for miles away. The scorpion stopped everything it was doing and started to twitch immensely and uncontrollably until it came to a complete stand still.

The scorpion fell and the battered mage walked herself off of the scorpion to her fellow team member. "I think we got it for good...." She then stumbled onto her knees from all the burn marks on her body "Hey....uh can you carry me? I think I overused my magic again." After that Varick came along after hearing the great sound of screaming scorpion and thunder rolling. "Wow you guys are amazing! I mean I didn't get to see the thing but look how big this thing is! I think I can take it apart and sell it to some people I know in the town. But did we find the salt like we were looking for? Because if we didn't I think that this may or may not be just as good."

Kihia listened to Quincy’s response and did his best to hold onto the Whirkai blade, the tail of the scorpion blade was pressing down on it and the blade slowly begun to crack, The Whirkai won’t last that much longer… Quincy… you better act soon… Kihia then heard Quincy speak up the she had a new plan, he grunted and held firm, and waited for her execution. Then Kihia heard Quincy say that he better not be touching the scorpion for what was about to happen, he nodded and broke Icarus off the blade of the Whirkai and jumped through the center hole of the whirkai as the blade started to fully crack and shatter from the force being put on it.

Kihia watched as Quincy was high up in the air spinning her one good arm building up a large ball of purple lightning, She is preparing her one range spell she had tried out earlier… Kihia landed back on the ground as Quincy let loose her Static Railgun, launching the ball of purple lightning into an exposed part of the Colossal scorpion. Kihia watched as the lightning arced throughout the Scorpion as it twitched and finally fell still falling onto the ground sending up a large cloud of sand. Kihia nodded and looked at Quincy who was walking over to him, when he heard her request he gently smiled.

Kihia nodded and lifted Quincy onto his back and look back at Varik, “We need to head back to the village, I am afraid there is nothing left of your shipment considering it would have been eaten by the scorpion and it’s young…” Kihia watched as the words finally reached Variks ears and he slumped down in defeat, “I know… Perhaps I will go into a early retirement…” Kihia nodded and then turned around and motioned for Varik to follow, they then set out back into the desert.

They walked for a few hours through the path they had trekked to get to the mission location, they stopped every now and then to tend to injuries and rest. They then would get up and continue their trek onward to the desert village, Kihia sighed and looked at Varik who was walking behind the group sulking a bit, “Retirement isn’t the end of the world Varik… you can retire to somewhere nice and relaxing, and live a peaceful life, like Rose Garden for example… it is what you make of it…” Varik thought for a moment before nodding, “You are right young man! No need to be blue! Countless Adventures await as I try and find a place to retire to!” Kihia gently shook his head and kept on walking with Quincy on his back, This is always an interesting job….
