Name: Jemal Tide
Gender: Male
Age: 8 years old
Birthday: January 16
Sexuality: Bisexual
Special Characteristics: Jemal's right ear is pierced although no earring hangs down from it, making the point rather moot. The back of his feet going halfway up his calf have a distinct poke-marked appearance caused by an acid splash.
Personality:
Jemal is a volatile soul, some of his emotions shifting rapidly. Others take longer to decay. Happiness tends to fade more quickly than emotions like anger and despair. Loyalty, however, sticks around a very long time. To win Jemal's loyalty isn't even that hard as he has a tendency towards wanting someone to be there for him. He wants to trust people and have someone to follow. Despite that, he mostly keeps to himself, operating under the idea that he is somehow bad or dangerous. He doesn't want to get close to people because he is afraid of hurting them or of being rejected.
Jemal, being a child, has a hard time sitting still or not getting into trouble. While one might not classify him as mischievous, he definitely has some tendencies toward that general area at times. He is not beyond snitching a cookie or tying someone's shoelaces together. His moral code is not yet well defined. He has little formal education on the matter and has few to look at for an example as to the sort of person he should be. Given the law he's sussed out that murder is wrong and technically so is stealing -- although it's clearly less bad. But what is good? He's not really sure. Is being good just avoiding the bad? Then he would certainly be a bad person, since he has stolen on occasion. Jemal also knows that family is above the law, as is loyalty. This was something he did manage to be taught. So if he's stolen for his family, does that mean he's a bad person? These confusing factors add to his general wariness of the whole idea of morality.
The fashion of friendship isn't something Jemal has tried on too much. There hasn't been much opportunity for him. Still, if he can get over the hurdle to actually get close to someone then he's set to be a loyal friend. A friend could bring out his happier side, more prone to joking and perhaps highlighting his restless habits. Jemal isn't really one for imagining things, even as a child. He prefers to take what he sees and work with it rather than building up other ideas. Still, without friends to surround him he will entertain himself by reaching for his imagination to give life to realistic circumstances.
Jemal likes a good wrestle and spar, but a real match? Those make him anxious. He doubts himself and his abilities and doesn't have much confidence. He likes being under the direction of a leader. He doesn't want to be in charge. Taunts can definitely get under Jemal's skin, but they don't often lead to a rage-centered attack. Instead they sneak under the skin and further diminish his self esteem in a slow drip. Jemal would like to be more of a defensive sort of fighter but generally things don't work out that way. He would rather avoid fighting an opponent than being forced into the attack. Still, being so young his diplomacy skills are rather underdeveloped so talking his way out of a fight isn't easy. He has little sense of self-preservation but definitely keeps an eye out for his comrades. If he has to be in charge he would make decisions but would also second guess himself the whole time, looking eagerly for input from the rest of the team.

General Appearance
Height: 119 cm
Weight: 19 kg
Hair: unkept dark gray crop of hair, relatively straight
Eyes: dark green
Skin Tone: a moderate brown coloration
Appearance:
With his untidy hair and somewhat smaller than average look for his age, Jemal resembles something of a street urchin. His clothing does little to dispel the notion. Dressed in an oversized white smock, Jemal swims in his ill fitting clothing. The sleeves of the shirt(while originally white, now a muted brown) are torn and well frayed. The cuffs have been torn off so that Jemal can actually use his hands while wearing the shirt. His pants, though substantially better fitting, have certainly seen better days. The knees have holes in them, ripped to the point where with a few good tugs Jemal would have shorts instead. He also has a gray jacket for the colder nights that is in surprisingly good condition and perhaps the best fitted of all his attire.

Likes:
- Sweets: Being a child anything full of sugar is something that's definitely worth paying attention to, and a desirable outcome of any event
- Running: Jemal is not a fan of sitting still nor of confrontations and so running is a natural solution to these issues
- Mud: With getting dirty a nonnegotiable, mud is a fantastic substance that can be cool and slippery as well as molded into any manner of things
Dislikes:
- Being Alone: Despite the fact that he often is solitary, he actually doesn't like it at all as it fuels the fire of his feelings of meaninglessness
- Snow: While mud is perfectly acceptable, snow is another matter entirely. It's wet and cold and even though you can build things with it, it makes Jemal miserable and angry.
- Shoes: Devil contraptions that contain his toes, pressing them in all too close together Jemal would prefer to go barefoot everywhere. The social convention to wear them, as well as the sometimes practical application, frustrates him.
Motivations:
- Self-Acualzation: The very lofty and undefinable goal of reaching one's full potential. Although he doesn't feel a great need to prove he is the most powerful, he wants to be as good as he can be.
- Knowledge: Jemal has an untapped interest in understanding the world to its basic elements. He wants it to make sense and he wants to know why things work.
- Sense of Belonging: Jemal wants a family, one that he feels welcome in and one that he can do something for. He needs a community.
Fears:
- Himself: Jemal operates under the assumption that he is somehow bad or dangerous and he can't explain why some things happen the way they do.
- Rabbits: Yes, for some reason those hopping long-eared things terrify Jemal. He couldn't say why, but the sight of them feels him with a freezing fear.
- Melons: Jemal is allergic to melons which has given him reason to fear them. He breaks out in a horrible rash if he touches a melon.
- Being Rejected: Everyone is afraid of this on some level, but it makes Jemal wary to try things in the first place if he's not sure how an interaction will go.
