Joining a Guild at Last (Open)

Malm stood nervously outside the doors to the Fairy Tail guildhall. After much internal debate, he had finally decided to join the guild. Yet now he was here, he was beginning to have second thoughts. Was he really ready to join a guild?

"I don't know Flare. Perhaps I should just head back and forget about this." Malm said to the ferret that was perched across his shoulder. Yet all he truly received in response was a strange look from the ferret. "Yeah I know. I came this far. No point backing out now. After all, the worse they can say is no, right?"

With that said, Malm took a deep breath as he placed his hand on the doorknob. "Well here goes nothing." He said to give himself one last ounce of confidence before opening the door. Here's hoping everything goes well.

((Sorry for the relatively short post. My muse is kind of at a low at the moment.))

Sakura had been reading a book quietly in the corner of the guild hall as usual when a familiar face came through the guild hall door. "Malm-sama!" She jumped up and ran over to her good friend, they had done quite a few jobs together by now and knew each other well. She gave him a quick bow before flinging her arms around his neck and hugging him, it had been a while since they had last come face to face and the little girl had to admit she missed him.
"Welcome," She said quieter than normal, bowing once again.

Manayus peered up from above his cup of tea, gently placing it back down on the table, extending his pinky and telling the cup silently touch down. It seemed the entrance to the fairy tail guild was always full of excitement. There were either guild members returning from long missions with very interesting stories to tell, or new members looking  to join the guild he had come to love in such a short time. 

It was very different for him to see so many people gathered together as equals... growing up, no one was your equal, you had a rank and you had to act accordingly. Here, things felt so carefree and he loved it.

"It seems a new member has arrived... Perhaps I should be there to greet him."
Just as he went to stand however, a beautiful woman with long blond hair and dazzling green eyes clung to his arm, leaning her head against him. She wasn't a member of the guild, but instead someone he had accidentally brought back with him. He looked down into those gorgeous eyes of hers, and gently placed his free hand against her cheek.

"Hime~ please do not worry yourself. You can come along with me if that's what you truly want."
He said with a gentle smile."
He could almost hear the woman's heart skip a beat as her face flushed. She let go of Manayus' arm, but seemed to be suddenly caught in a fantasy as she let him get up to go and greet the new face. When he walked up to Malm he smiled, bringing a hand up to his chest with a polite bow of his head.

"Welcome to Fairy Tail. Forgive me for my intrusion but I simply had to investigate a face I have not yet met. Are you perhaps coming back from a mission?"
He wondered curiously, as Sakura seemed to know this man already. From their last encounter, he remembered her as being extremely shy, and so this was quite out of character to his knowledge.

Malm had to admit. Being hugged by Sakura wasn't exactly the first thing he suspected to happen when he came into the guildhall. Yet sure enough. The first thing he heard was Sakura shouting his name as she ran over to him to give him a small hug and to welcome him to the guildhall.

"Hey Sakura. It's been awhile." He said to her with a small blush before taking a quick look around, "So this the Fairy Tail guildhall, huh? It's... bigger then I expected it to be."

His attention was then called to a man who welcomed Malm to the guildhall and asked if he had just come back from a mission. "Uhh... Not exactly." Malm answered as he rubbed the back of his head. While he didn't come back from a mission, it definitely felt like one after his attempt to take some time for him to think things over ended up sticking him in the middle of a 'fight' between two wizards who he had considered friends.

Sakura nodded at Heero as he turned to leave, she would not go easy on Malm if it meant that she was helping him. She turned to look at Malm and frowned slightly, lost in thought. She felt as if helping him fit into the guild was her only way of being able to repay him back for all the help he had given her on previous jobs.
She pointed to an empty table nearby then moved towards it, expecting the others to understand and follow. Surely by now Malm was used to her silent ways. She slid onto one of the wooden chairs surrounding the table and waited for Malm and Manayus to join her. Whilst she waited she pulled out a box of pocky and began to chomp on it, it was strawberry- her favorite flavor. She shoved the box in Malms direction and said simply "Plans?" to the boy clad in green.

"Ah! well if you're not returning, then you must be visiting? Personally I hope to see you join us, it would do the guild good to have a few extra handsome men."
Manayu said with a light laugh, extending his hand in a motion of friendship to the strange visitor.

"Oh and please forgive my rudeness. My name is Manayus Valotaire, I have only joined the guild recently myself, therefore meeting other new recruits is quite exciting."
Manayus was silenced when Heero and an Exceed came over to join the conversation. Heero nearly swinging into the scene like some sort of monkey. Manayus looked at with with interest until he finally came to a halt before them, and his exceed perched on his head, speaking about Malm's green hair. Frankly, he was interested about all those with strange colored hair, including Heero's blue hair, although he couldn't help but chuckle at the scene the two fiends were making.

"I'm sorry but I don't think I'll be beating anyone up in the near future. That's not exactly what my magic is about."
He told HEero before noting how Sakura was beckoning them to sit at a table with her. He was a little confused by her silence, but stepped forward none the less, taking a seat with her when asked too.

"Well it's nice..." Malm was cut off as another man approached the group. This man was different from the Manayus though as he had an intimidating aura about him. Though that could be just because the blue haired man just walked over a seemingly winning a brawl with whom Malm guessed was another guild member.

The boy remained quiet as it seemed that the man wasn't exactly happy to see Malm, or to be more exact, to see that Malm was still relatively young. Then Malm took notice of a strange flying orange cat making a comment about Malm's hair that was quickly silenced by the man. Despite his previous comment, the man seemed to have become a little more welcoming of Malm, though mentioning something about Malm getting some nachos so he could eat him. It didn't honestly make much sense to the plant wizard. The meeting seemed to end short after that as the cat bit the blue haired man, which caused the blue haired man to scream before running after the flying cat into a crowd, saying something that slightly unnerved Malm.

They aren't honestly going to try to beat me up are they? He was just joking. Malm wondered as he looked at the other two, I know Sakura definitely wouldn't, but what about Manayus? I honestly don't want to end up getting into a fight before I even join. It seemed all the worrying was for not as Manayus claimed he wouldn't be beating anyone anytime soon.

Malm then took notice as Sakura had a frown on her face as she pointed towards a table. It almost seemed like a flip of a switch that she had returned to her silent self. Was it possible that either Manayus or the blue haired man's presence did this to her? Malm couldn't quite tell, but took a seat at the table with her anyways as she asked him a simply question.

"Plans? I'm... Not quite sure what you mean." Malm told her honestly, "I'm planning on joining Fairy Tail if that's what your asking. Or well... I'm hoping to at any case." Malm rubbed the back of his head as his attention was turned to Manayus.

"I'm Malm by the way. It's nice to meet you." Malm introduced himself with a small smile as he extended his hand to Manayus.

Sakura sighed heavily, Malm clearly didn't understand what she meant, now she would have to explain herself properly and that was frustrating "A team?" she asked him a short question once again and muttered under her breath "Duh." She sulked silently as Malm diverted his attention to Manayus.
She chomped on pocky for a little longer whilst waiting impatiently for Malms response. She noticed how Manayus seemed a little confused by her silence, she would explain if she wasnt so shy around him. Maybe Malm would explain for her.

Manayus couldn't help but smile at his new friends, looking over at Sakura curiously when she said just one word. A team? did she mean she wanted Malm? or did she want him on a team as well? What exactly was a team... would be be good at it? Well, of course he would but still.

"A team? Uhm... do you mean you would like me to join as well?"
He asked her uncertainly, pointing at himself as if she was mistaken. then, the smile spread even wider again as he smirked.

"Actually that sounds like a fantastic idea! I think the three of us would make the best team Fairy Tail had to offer!"
In truth, he knew nothing of their magic, and yet something in him told him that if this were to happen... they would be unstoppable.

Malm turned towards Sakura as she mentioned something about a team. What his plans for a team were? Was that what she was asking about in the first place? No. She was asking what his plans in general were.

Malm facepalmed upon that realization. He couldn't believe he didn't figure that out sooner. It seemed as though Manayus hasn't caught on yet though, seeing that the man saw it as an invitation. Though Malm would admit it was a possibility, he doubt that was actually the case.

"Excuse me, but I don't think Sakura was inviting us to a team. Unless I'm wrong, I believe she was more curious about my plans were on joining one." Malm told Manayus in a polite tone. Hoping that the man doesn't take offence to his correction.

"As for what those are. I don't really know. I use to be a part of a team awhile back, but we kind of strayed a part soon after our first job together. It's actually one of the reasons why I never joined a guild until now." Malm said as he placed his arms and hands on the table in such a way that he can perch his head in his hands. It was obvious just looking at him that he was deep in thought.

He honestly didn't know if he was ready to join another team. Maybe with Sakura, but that's only because he knew her and knew that they work well together. Anyone else? Well... He'd have to have time to know them first before he was ready to join them in a team.

Sakuras eyes widened in surprise as Manayus suggested they form a team, that wasn't what she had been asking! She sat perfectly still for a moment, not knowing what to say in this rather awkward situation. They did seem to get along well even if they had met as a group for the first time... they would actually make a good team! However, thought Sakura, I am already in a team that I am not willing to leave. Maybe they could join her existing team? She was almost definite that there were two spare places.
"Team Beacon," she said to the others. It would be lovely to work with Manayus and Malm however she didnt want to leave her team to do so. She nodded to herself, hopefully they would like her idea.
She felt rather awkward around Manayus, clearly he wasnt used to her only speaking a little in front of people she didnt know well.

"Oh hahaha"
Manayus chuckled in embarrassment, placing his hand behind his head as he leaned back in his chair, glancing from Malm to Sakura. How was it that these two understood each other anyways? He was used to women not really saying anything around him but Sakura was on a whole new level... Malm however seemed to understand her as if she spoke full sentences.

"Forgive me you two, it seems I've been letting my excitement get the best of me ever since I joined the guild. "
He said, lowering his hand as he offered both of them his apology. However, his smile never left his face as he listened in to what Malm's plans where, and what Sakura meant by Team Bacon... someone really had to enjoy bacon to have a team named after it... He decided to bite his tongue on that however, knowing he would end up making a fool of himself again.

"Well, regardless of the situation I think forming a team, or at least joining one is an excellent way to branch out within the guild and make new friends."
he stated as he gave the guild a quick once over, pin pointing those people he already knew and those he didn't. It really wasn't hard to pick out who was in a team with one another either as they all seemed to sit in their own little groups before they mingled.

"Team Beacon?" Malm asked as he looked up at Sakura. Then realization dawned on him again as he believed he understood what Sakura was talking about again. "Oh... That must be the team your with. I don't know..."

Malm stopped then turn towards Manayus as he advised that joining a team might be a good idea as it was a good way to make new friends. "True. Though I don't exactly want to join a team with everyone being a complete strangers." Thoughts of ending up being teamed up with someone like that blue haired man sent shivers down his spine. That was something he would like to avoid with the best of his ability.

"Sakura? There's no chance your team is searching for new members, is it?" Malm asked as he rubbed the back of his head. He doubted it, but being the only person here he really knew, he thought it was worth checking out just in case.

Sakura shrugged at Malm, she wasnt team leader so she didnt keep track of who in their team was active and who wasn't. She knew there was definitely one place on her team. There might be two if Ace decided people werent active enough.
"What magic do you have?" Sakura turned to face Manayus who had reclined backwards into his chair.

"Me? Oh, well I use Support magic. People have been calling it Fairy Magic since it looks like fairy dust which seems quite appropriate."
He said with his same large smirk. He brought his arm forward above the tail, a thin trail of golden fairy dust falling from him as he moved it. When he opened his palm, the fairy dust began to gather there and gently start to swirl around itself, releasing a subtle aroma of roses in the immediate area.

Malm gave Sakura a nod as she answered his question with a shrug. He wasn't expecting much, so wasn't to surprised when all he got was a shrug. Perhaps he should really think so much about it. There is, after all, something he should take care of before he could even think about joining a team.

Having found his head sunk while he was thinking, he looked up as he heard Sakura ask what type of magic Manayus used. He responded by telling her that he used some type of support magic that people have been calling Fairy Magic. Manayus went to display his magic as he left a golden trail of what he would guess was Fairy Dust before gathering it up in his open palm. Malm then began to smell a very familiar scent in the air.

"Roses" Malm said as sniffed the air a few times. It'd be embarrassing for him if he couldn't tell what that smell was. A thought then entered his head. "Uhh... Do either of you guys know who I should talk to about joining the guild?" Malm asked as he rubbed the back of his head, a little embarrassed that he needed to ask.

Sakuras eyes widened in delight as the became mesmerized by Manayus's magic, she had never seen anything like it before. The golden fairy dust he had just created was beautiful. She watched as it swirled through the air and released a wonderful aroma. It would be interesting to see this magic used in a battle, thought Sakura.
In response to Malms question she pointed away from the table they were sat at and int he direction of the Guild Master, "There."

"It usually gives off the aroma of roses, but I find the scent tends to change depending on the person. This has to be my favourite part of my magic though, it reminds me a lot of home..."
he began but silenced himself as he began to mention his home. The last thing he wanted was for his new friends to think he was some high class prissy boy who thought too much of himself. Which... frankly was pretty much what he was but he still didn't want others to see that... instead he just wanted them to see what a fun and kind person he could be.

When malm asked about where to go to become a part of the guild, he frankly had no answer... he had just so happened to run into the guild master when he had come into the guild and had no trouble at all joining. He was glad though when Sakura was able to immediately pin point where Malm should go.

"Well, welcome tot he guild Malm. I look forward to working with you and with the lovely Sakura. Even if we're not a team, that doesn't mean we can't do a few odd jobs together right?"
he asked them both with a big smile once more.

Malm looked over towards the direction Sakura pointed. "Ahh... Okay then." Malm said as he saw the guildmaster. He was honestly growing quite nervous now. He wasn't sure if he could go through with this.

Malm then turned towards Manayus as he welcomed him into the guild. "Thanks. Though I think you should save your welcome until after I officially join the guild. (If I officially join the guild.) Though I do hope to work with you in the future." Malm replied before looking back at the guildmaster.

Malm took a deep breath. "Well here goes nothing... again." Malm said to himself as he forced himself up before making his way over to the guildmaster.
